This is a real-life story of why we created Levonis the way we did.
I spent a year of my life studying project management. I sat through the lectures, recorded more than 20 Teams meetings, filed dozens of reports, completed all assignments, and walked away with a formal qualification.
I was glad when high school ended. I was glad when I finished my degree and glad when I finished all other studies I have done. But Project Management was at a different level.
The cynical truth about what that year taught me is this: project management theory is the absolute master of taking a beautifully simple idea and turning it into a complete nightmare of complexity.
Take one of the industry's reference texts, the Project Management Body of Knowledge. It is almost 600 pages long. Now, if you're building an international airport or launching a multi-billion-dollar satellite array into orbit, maybe you need all 600 pages of that administrative baggage. But the vast majority of projects being run by solopreneurs and small business folk like us, do not. In fact, we need the exact opposite. We need simplicity.
Somewhere along the line, corporate bureaucracy hijacked the simple act of getting things done. It turned it into a contest of who can look busiest or who can use the biggest industrial words. But using bloated jargon, compiling endless status reports that nobody reads, and hosting unnecessary morning meetings does not make you smart. It just wastes time.
To run a successful project and get your objective over the line on time, you do not need a project management diploma or other qualification. You just need some basic common sense and a few clean, functional tools.
It was with that exact zero-fluff philosophy that we engineered the new Project Manager module inside Levonis.
When you open it up, you aren't forced to go through a confusing setup wizard or read a wall of text. Instead, it just boils down to two ways of working. And guess what? You don't even need to know the official terms... you just need to understand the basic idea.
First, there is what we call the Runway Style. The textbooks call this Waterfall. It’s just a fixed blueprint. You use this when you have heavy, real-world rules—like a hard tax deadline or ordering materials early. It just means Step A must finish completely before Step B can start.
Second, there is the Sprint Style. The industry calls this Agile. It’s just a flexible way of working. You use this when you're launching a website, building an app, or testing a new offer on the fly. You accept that you don't know everything on day one, so you just focus on short, one-to-two week blocks to smash out a few tasks, see how the market reacts, and change your plan based on what happens.
Inside the tracking workspace, we threw out all the usual software clutter. We broke every project down into just three basic pieces: tasks, phases, and categories that you define yourself to match your actual business. We also added a simple one-click "Critical Path" indicator. If a task is marked with it, it lights up bright red. If that item slips, you know instantly that the whole project is running late.
You can look at all your tasks in two ways, depending on how your brain wants to see the work: a clean, column-based Block View to drag and drop your daily tasks, or a flat horizontal Runway View to see your timeline leading up to the deadline.
Spend exactly five minutes using our Project Manager module, and two things are going to happen. First, you will see how easy it is to organize and manage your project. And second... you will completely save yourself from wasting a year of your life studying a dry corporate textbook.
So, who is this actually for?
Well... for starters, me. I would have been absolutely over the moon to have something like this back when I was studying project management. The reality is, this kind of clean tracking tool usually only exists inside massive, expensive software platforms. I actually ended up having to pull out my wallet and pay for one of those heavy corporate platforms back then just to get my work organized.
