What is Minnesota's Legacy?

Minnesota's Legacy showcases the organizations and the people who have benefited from Minnesota’s Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment in sound-rich 90-second segments.

Opening: This is Minnesota's Legacy: A look at the organizations and people who have benefitted from Minnesota's unique Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment

Amira Warren-Yearby: Like Peanut butter and jelly on toast or a glass of lemonade on a hot Minnesota summer day, the perfect pairings can be sweet.

Kalley Pratt: YES! provides the programming and Prairie Woods provides the equipment, provides the space…

Warren-Yearby: That's Kalley Pratt, Director of Youth Eco Solutions (YES!). She's highlighting the organization's partnership with the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, supported by Minnesota's Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.

Pratt: the goal is to empower Minnesota youth to create solutions to today's ecological challenges through hands-on action projects.

Warren-Yearby: Through partnerships, YES! provides youth with opportunities to connect with natural resource experts, identify ecological challenges, and take action through local environmental projects.

Pratt: our organization offers about six different workshops to engage students ranging from Duluth all the way down to Westbrook Walnut Grove.

Warren-Yearby: Their partnership is helping raise the next generation of environmental leaders, who say they feel like part of a team.

Pratt: And one of the students next to me in the circle said, "I just really appreciate being welcomed into his team and not being bullied." I just thought that was really cool to hear.

Closing: Minnesota's Legacy is a production of AMPERS, with support from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, more at ampers dot org.
