In this chapter, the Alter Rebbe elucidates on the concept of 'Ahavat Yisrael,' the love for a fellow Jew. He posits that our love for each other should be so profound that it mirrors the love we have for our own soul. This love, he explains, is a pathway to love the Divine, for by loving His creations, we express our love for the Creator.
Yet, we often find ourselves stumbling over our ego, our differences, and our flaws. The Alter Rebbe counsels us to look beyond these superficialities and focus on the divine soul within each of us. This soul, an actual part of God, is present in every Jew, regardless of their status, actions, or appearance.
