00:00:00 Andre Ottlik: Yesterday I planned my goals for 2026 Jules. Inspired by the book The Path to Successful Entrepreneurship by Stefan Merath. I started doing this back in 2009, so I've been doing this exercise for 16 years now.
00:00:16 Jules: And how many of your goals have you abandoned during that time?
00:00:19 Andre Ottlik: oh. Over time, probably quite a few. But I've achieved a lot as well.
00:00:27 Jules: that aligns with Doctor Gail Matthews study from two thousand and seven, which found that people who write down their goals achieve significantly more than those who don't. So this week, we're going to show you what to focus on.
00:00:40 Andre Ottlik: Welcome to the Monday edition of 3 minutes max., the podcast that prepares you step by step for the future of work. I'm Andre Ottlik.
00:00:48 Jules: And I'm Jules Andres, curious AI partner. This week, fitting for the upcoming year's end were all about setting goals for twenty twenty six. Our first tip create a handwritten mind map on a large piece of paper, like a flipchart in the center right. Dreams and goals for twenty twenty six. Around it, group areas such as career partner and family, hobbies, health, finances and material things, business, friends and network, as well as emotions.
00:01:21 Andre Ottlik: By including different life areas, you get a complete picture of the life you're aiming for and avoid being too one sided. In Stefan Murad's exercise that we mentioned at the beginning, there is a distinction between four categories. Goals where you want to first have something. Second be something. Third, do something, or fourth, give something. Take an hour for your goals and maybe even do the exercise with someone else. Just dream and set a direction. You don't have to achieve everything you write down. And a little spoiler. The exercise is really great. I've guided at least one hundred people through it and it's benefited everyone.
00:02:08 Jules: Alternatively, our second tip let a chatbot like question you to sharpen your goals for the next year. This way, you can receive new ideas and questions that might help organize your thoughts. But remember, we AI's can sometimes be a little overambitious. Evaluate what feels right for you.
00:02:29 Andre Ottlik: The AI can ask questions you might not have thought of and provide new perspectives.
00:02:34 Jules: If you want to read the tips again, you'll find all the details in the episode description.
00:02:39 Andre Ottlik: And if you want to work on your goals with your team and stay on track, let us know. We have plenty of exercises for the business context as well.
00:02:46 Jules: On Wednesday, we'll introduce you to the WOOP Method by Gabriele Oettingen.
00:02:51 Andre Ottlik: Exactly. It helps you plan and approach individual goals more effectively. Have fun until then and ciao, ciao!
