Welcome back to the Sandals Church podcast. On this special episode, we're slowing down together. No rush. No agenda. Just a few minutes to meditate on God's word and sit in his presence.
Bryan Wade:We know life doesn't stop moving. It's busy, noisy, and often messy. But even in the middle of it all, God invites us to come close, to rest, to breathe, and to remember who he is. Wherever you find yourself today, know this. God's spirit is with you.
Bryan Wade:So take a deep breath, settle in, and allow his word to meet you right where you are.
Tim Hawley:Think about a time you face a tough question or a complicated situation. Maybe even a time when the solution wasn't obvious to you. We're wired to want immediate answers, to solve the puzzle, to be in control. If we're honest, we love the pride we gain from figuring something out on our own. You might even find in waiting and seeking, you grow frustrated when God's timing doesn't match yours or when the path isn't clearly mapped out.
Tim Hawley:Pride demands you conquer the mystery on your terms. Yet the Bible teaches that true wisdom is a reward for the humble and diligent heart. What if God's glory is found in the very things he chooses to conceal? And what if the things he conceals actually lead you to patiently search for his wisdom? Take a moment to honestly examine your approach to facing complex things in life.
Tim Hawley:Whether it's your relationships, work, or spiritual life, do you ever feel entitled to an answer? What are you trying to force or solve in your life without truly seeking God's counsel? Where are you impatient demanding an immediate answer instead of humbly searching? Bring that pressure, that frustration, and that need for control to God. Confess any tendency to rely on your own understanding rather than on his.
Tim Hawley:When you're lacking answers and facing unknowns, rather than rush to find the solution, ask God for the grace to be patient and pursue his truth. Then trust that the very act of your humble persistent search honors God. Say to him now, Lord, remove my pride and give me a heart that loves to seek you more than having the answers myself.
