what is going on everybody welcome to

sunday sunday sunday night crossfit talk i

don't have a mixer with me so i

have to do it myself this week

old-fashioned um old-fashioned way

NorCal is still going on if people are

watching it.

So we'll catch up a little bit and

then we'll get into the weekend.

I'm going to be up front with everybody

being at the syndicate and you can see

I'm still in my hotel.

I did not catch up with a ton

of NorCal nor any of MadFit other than

leaderboard watching.

But we're going to talk briefly about it

tonight and we'll see if Carolyn,

who just,

just finished her final event at NorCal.

We'll see if we can do like a

show later this week to kind of recap

everything.

Yeah.

So thoughts on the event as a whole.

I've got to say,

you're doing better than me.

I'm at home,

and I haven't even caught the leaderboard

of MAD, so you're doing better than me.

I have watched all of NorCal and

Syndicate,

but I have not even peeked at the

leaderboard for MAD.

I don't even know.

Is it on YouTube?

I haven't even seen things pop up for

where I'm at.

Honestly, just so you know,

at Syndicate and the Meteor area...

We supposedly had Wi-Fi,

but all the passwords I was given,

none of them worked.

So the little bit that I like was

uploading from there was done on my

hotspot from my phone.

And to then stream off of that was

nearly impossible.

So it just made for trying to watch

everything in the downtime impossible.

Yeah, agree.

I will say it was really nice that

California is three hours different.

So like I was able to like watch

Syndicate and then go catch up the streams

of NorCal afterwards and not be that far

off.

Vicky says NorCal was on Sivan Overflow

Elite.

Mad was on YouTube.

Oh, yeah.

I just I didn't even see a notification

for Mad.

I mean,

I probably just not subscribe to the right

channel.

John Jenkins, who I met this weekend,

and if that last name looks familiar,

that is Ty's dad,

who is probably having an amazing night

tonight.

Yeah.

Carolyn is being interviewed right now at

NorCal.

Shoot.

yeah so i gotta ask because i know

i talked about it after legends um and

you haven't been really in person in a

little while to an event and i know

for me it was really nice being back

in the community and having people come

talk and say how much they enjoy the

show i'm guessing you were bombarded with

that this weekend

Uh, Friday, a ton, Friday, a ton.

Um,

and then it was just sprinkled in the

rest of the weekend.

Um,

I met Jason Bourne who was always on

our lunch show chat.

Okay.

So I now know who Jason Bourne is.

Okay.

Um, a lot of,

I met a lot of people.

John was one of the first people I

met when I got there.

Uh,

who says he listens to the show every

day on his way home from work.

Oh, that's awesome.

So, yeah.

And I met his wife and Ty's mom.

I met Lydia Fish's mom.

She introduced herself to me.

Shoot, I don't have.

They gave me the clapper.

Oh, yeah.

That they use in the crowd.

Yeah, it was a really fun time.

I brought my wife,

which she has not been to one of

these since the Masters Games in twenty

four.

And usually she just, like,

helps me get food or whatever.

And this time she took it upon herself

to get some content.

And it is...

It is awesome content.

I'm going to put it together.

It'll be out this week,

probably members only for a couple of days

and then and it'll go wide.

But yeah,

she it is it is so raw.

My wife knows very little about the

CrossFit scene, which makes it really,

really cool.

Really, really cool.

I'm excited.

You told me a bit about that.

I'm excited to see these interviews.

Yeah,

like her fingers in front of the camera

or her,

like it's just all the stuff that you

would expect.

And it's really, really funny.

And Shoop, I saw you, Scott,

but you were busy working and didn't want

to bother you.

Maybe next time.

Always bother me.

Always bother me.

I am.

I'm always up for meeting new people.

Right.

And this weekend was just getting my feet

back in the water of kind of being

an event, getting through the weekend,

pounding the pavement,

getting my body adjusted to it.

And and so I everybody I met this

weekend, it was so much fun.

Vicky said she had to go track down

the YouTube of Matt Fitt.

It's out there.

J.Y.

gave you a shout out on the broadcast

today when they were talking about Saxon.

I did.

He actually.

So when Saxon won,

I sent John a text and it was

just Saxon in all caps.

that's all it was and uh and i

heard the comment that he made i'm not

the biggest fan i think his parents are

the biggest fans yeah and maybe his kids

but i'm like right a notch below that

yeah so anyway um

Anna Shoup says great event.

It really was.

They always,

Wilson and Taylor and all those guys

always do a great job.

I mean,

it looked like it ran incredibly well,

which I would expect nothing less with JR

helping out there on the field.

I mean, crash runs on the dot, right?

Putting Wilson and JR together is a force

to be reckoned with.

John said Scott didn't come say hi to

me once.

I didn't know, honestly,

because we got there late Friday.

I didn't know if I was allowed to

go up near the broadcast booth.

I just knew I was allowed where the

purple tape was.

So I just did my thing.

I saw Tyler.

I saw Hobart.

Talked to them.

But didn't run into John anywhere.

Saw Hiller.

I, I've never met Jr personally.

And, uh, he came over,

said hi to me, shook my hand.

We talked for a little bit.

Uh, I mean,

I know who he is and I've seen

him in, at events,

but this is the first time we've actually

talked.

You didn't talk to him when we were

there in, was it?

Twenty-four, twenty-three.

What year did we go?

Orlando?

No, no way.

When we went to syndicate,

I don't think I saw him.

I talked to him like a few times,

like while we were in the media fit

lane, like that year.

Don't nobody care on the last day.

Walk your walk.

Yeah.

I thought about going up and saying hi

to everybody up there, but I just,

they're in the middle of a broadcast.

Like I just,

I'm trying to be respectful and all of

that.

so fergie comes in with this question of

the week jamie if you could choose any

location to host the crossfit games where

would it be and why michigan state that's

funny i actually would not choose michigan

state um now i do think somewhere in

michigan would be awesome if we could do

it i just don't know i have thought

about this because we have the great lakes

i like truly i i personally think madison

was

the best like the best it gets for

being able to have that festival

environment have everyone there like those

college towns are where it needs to be

I don't think Michigan State would be

great I don't even know where you would

swim we don't have I mean I guess

you could do a pool yeah I don't

know I've thought about that and I

wouldn't want to go towards Detroit I

would I would probably choose somewhere

towards Muskegon area um but then you you

miss like the college

a big enough town with enough hotels and

food to, um, yeah, I don't know.

That's a tough one.

I personally think the Chicago area or

like towards Wisconsin is, is the right.

I just think,

I personally think out West is it's

everything is so much more expensive.

I just registered for the games.

It's five hundred dollars this year.

Five hundred.

I want to say it was like

three thirty in twenty four and then like

four hundred last year and now it's five

hundred.

It's insane.

And you get less and less as an

athlete and less every year.

And now you've got to buy three tickets.

Like the more I just see content coming

out about this year's games,

I'm just getting more and more frustrated.

To say that you're bringing it all back

together and it's going to be the greatest

year and then you've completely split it

up.

You haven't even brought the masters

together with their teenagers.

And you have to buy two different tickets,

like two separate four hundred and fifty

dollar spectator tickets.

And then if you're there and you want

to go see the individuals,

you got to spend another, what,

five hundred dollars ticket.

So you want a master who's competing who

might have like a teenager there to

possibly pay their games ticket to get in.

Then four hundred bucks to watch their

team.

Then maybe.

go watch some individual events.

I mean, you need,

that's why you need the environment.

Like you had at Madison where you have

the festival environment.

So you can just have a beer garden

and watch, watch the elites,

but still you're there.

Right.

I don't know.

I, I,

I'm never a person that like looks

backward at where,

where I want CrossFit to go.

Yeah.

I'm kind of with you.

Like,

The festival atmosphere at Madison was

unmatched at any other location.

Now,

I'm sure you could get that elsewhere,

but the biggest drawback was the Airbnbs

and the

um hotels were outrageously caught priced

because it was a smaller town yeah and

and space was limited but you go to

like a chicago you're gonna get swallowed

up in that big city like ohio state

has all the amenities that madison does

but it's such a much bigger town in

columbus that and as much as i'd love

it to be there you just get swallowed

up you do i think

That was when he said that.

That was kind of where my head went

was back to like somewhere so that you

could be around Rogue.

I think though if it was all back

together, like we did get swallowed up.

I'm not going to lie.

The Masters teenagers last year being in

Columbus got like people,

like we were just

not even a tenth of a mile away

eating dinner.

And people were like,

what are you here for?

So yes, people didn't know.

I do think like had the twentieth

anniversary and CrossFit got on board to

go somewhere like Columbus this year and

make a big deal out of it.

I don't know.

I think they could do it right and

not get swallowed up.

If it was all together.

Yeah, I'm sure they all will gouge.

Madison just seemed out of, I mean,

what we paid for like a fleabag hotel.

Bullet holes in the wall.

Like, it was crazy.

But I agree with, like,

the campground not being there.

Big loss.

So many people took advantage of that.

It was a community atmosphere in the

campground where people were doing

workouts all evening long.

Those are the things you lose when you

go away from a place like Madison.

And Madison's as close to the middle as

you can kind of get.

Right.

We're not,

anybody's flying clear across the country.

I mean, I feel that way with,

I think Columbus sort of has that going

for it too.

I just,

you want the fans to want to come

and be there for everything that they can

be there for,

and you can't price them out of it.

You can't charge them for three different

tickets.

It needs to be one fee to get

in.

President says Nashville, Raleigh,

Indianapolis.

I like Indianapolis.

I don't think you would get swallowed up

there.

It is a convention hub.

So they have tons of hotels,

tons of amenities.

Nashville, it's always under construction.

Every time I've been there,

traffic just getting in and out of that

place is nuts.

But every central regional that I went to

was in Nashville.

Well, not everyone, but the last several.

That's a lot smaller scale, though.

Yeah, a lot smaller.

I mean,

than if you did the entire games,

everyone all together.

I suppose just the individuals.

I don't know.

With the kind of foot traffic you want

to get in for spectators, I don't know.

Larry Young says so far,

I think Madison is the only one that

overperformed.

And you know why it overperformed?

Because you could do ninety dollar tickets

for the week.

Right.

And hang out in the beer garden or

hang out at Orange Park or whatever they

call it.

North Park.

North Park.

That's what I don't.

That's where I don't understand where

they're where their head is like.

you had so many people come because it

was affordable to get into and they just

keep pricing people out.

I,

I know there's like,

it's the same thing with the affiliates,

right?

Like you went from,

you went from like thirteen thousand

affiliates at three thousand a year to

eight thousand at forty five hundred.

I guess you're still netting almost the

exact same.

Maybe they are even making a little bit

more money, but it's not better.

It's we have fewer like that's not the

way to just because you netted the same,

it doesn't make it a better model.

Right.

Keep it portable and get more people in

in the doors.

Yeah,

we've lost sight of trying to get people

addicted to watching this by making it

affordable to come see it.

We're not SEC football or Big Ten football

that can charge a hundred dollars a game.

And that's low end, that's upper deck.

But yeah,

I don't understand the pricing at all.

I heard a rumor.

I heard a rumor.

Someone told me that it might be Larry

Young's birthday.

It is.

I wish I had a birthday earlier,

but yeah.

Happy birthday, Larry.

So huge shout out to Larry Young.

I'm sure he is young.

He's always young.

Always young.

But happy birthday, Larry.

The chat wouldn't be the same without you.

So let's talk syndicate crown.

If you didn't see the winners or the

people who got their ticket to the games,

the women's side was pretty much over and

done with going into the final event.

Like it wasn't mathematically done.

But Lydia Fish had like an eighty four

point.

Sure.

Lydia was locked in.

Yeah,

but that third spot was not locked in.

That was no, no, no, no.

That was wild.

But Lydia, the win was in.

Yeah.

And then.

Yeah, for sure.

And then Haley came in second.

And third place was Danielle Brandon.

And she came from fifth.

Yeah.

To get that spot and had to win

the event.

To do it and only did it by

a couple points.

Right.

Yeah.

One or two spots.

Yeah.

I don't know.

It was very close.

Uh,

is how wire to wire Lydia was the

most shocking part.

I'll tell you what the most shocking

parts.

Cause I was right in her lane for

a lot of the weekend.

She's found a switch.

she's found it like she can just

completely know oh and like when it was

go time you could just see the demeanor

change it was really cool to see that's

awesome um and then you have the like

is it chevrolet genie chevrolet genie

chevrolet

I was right there.

She was devastated.

I felt really bad for her.

It was crazy, crazy, crazy.

And I think going into the announcement,

Danielle did not think she did enough.

Agreed.

She looked a little surprised.

I know Janie just needed...

hair faster on those.

I mean, honestly,

it might even have been her Kota bar.

She had a break a few times.

Yeah, I felt so bad for her.

I guess there was some drama at a

semifinal where it wasn't elimination,

but maybe because we're towards the end of

the semifinals.

She's good, man.

I mean,

I think she's got a shot on line.

I enjoyed watching her this weekend.

I, I mean,

I've kept an eye on her through WFP.

She's, she's the real deal.

There were so many couples,

so many couples.

I know they're all coupled up now, huh?

It was crazy.

Um, and, and,

Austin and Haley are about as in love

as I've ever seen a couple be.

And the way that their families support

the other athlete is insane.

That's awesome.

And there were a whole lot of Hatfields

at this venue,

all with their Coors lights and all going

crazy.

Scott,

what did you think of the Syndicate venue?

Not the newest,

but also not a bad seat in the

house.

I kind of like it because it's elevated

above the floor.

So if you're in the seats,

you can see.

You don't have to worry about getting over

media or the judges or whatever,

or the equipment.

You're elevated.

And they did a really nice job inside,

really kind of sprucing it up.

On the men's side,

there was a comment about Danielle.

Everybody was writing her off.

People were telling me she's out of it.

I was like,

there's no way she's out of it.

Because she can win at any time.

But she needed help.

She did need help.

I thought she was going to miss out.

I thought it was going to be another

legend for Danielle.

I knew Lydia had it locked up,

but I thought...

I thought Janie would be able to hold

her off just enough that Danielle would be

one spot looking out again by one

placement.

And yeah, I just,

that sucks for Janie because I think she's

that fit.

I think this was a little bit of

a.

Yeah, I don't know.

This was not my favorite final,

if I'm being honest.

I don't like racing an overhead squat.

Not that heavy.

It was exciting in the venue.

I'm sure it was.

I really enjoyed it.

I wish there was a way you could

know what number total bar they were on.

Yeah.

Because at forty nine, you're just.

I kept looking at the clock.

Well, it's going to be over a minute,

like before someone jumps down and waiting

for a hand to go up.

And, but yeah,

does Daniel Brandon's muscle mass hurt her

engine?

No,

it is weird seeing her next to the

other girls though.

Cause she, she kind of, I mean,

she just towers over them.

She does.

She is so much.

She's just thicker.

I mean, she's, she's taller for sure.

But Haley's like on the little bit of

the taller side too.

And even those two standing next to each

other.

I mean, Lydia's small, right?

She's one of the smallest ones out there.

So they're both going to look bigger next

to Lydia.

But I mean, Daniel.

Even Lydia's taller than like Lexi Mealy.

Oh, for sure.

You know, but yeah.

Yeah,

I said there was a lot of Hatfields

and CrossFit and a lot less McCoys.

Danielle's, I think, got a good engine.

I mean, she's not like your,

it's not like the men when you get

so big and so muscular that you can

see that they just can't keep up in

the really long like cardio workouts.

Danielle, I mean,

Danielle's got a good engine.

I just think these girls coming up,

like the Janie and Lydia, obviously,

are just... I mean,

it's a problem for Alexis, even.

The field is getting fitter.

Daniel Arnson, dollar ninety-nine.

Thank you so much.

Is Haley no longer at Mayhem?

So on my rundown,

the announcement came out this weekend.

She is now with Brute and not Mayhem.

Brute made the announcement on Instagram,

so it's Instagram official.

But yeah,

Coach L was with her the entire weekend.

He was even sitting with her when she

was watching Austin.

It's, it's a strange, I mean,

we talked about this on text.

It's a strange announcement to me,

especially to hear you say how like in

love Austin and Haley seem.

Cause that means to me,

that means she's not moving out of

Cookville.

And so are her and Austin not going

to train together anymore?

I mean, I know you're like, well,

there's other gyms around there.

So she's in a drive to a different

gym every day.

It's just,

it's weird move to me when you're,

I don't know.

Maybe she thinks she's too comfortable.

I don't know.

And I don't,

I don't disagree that she needs a change.

Um, it's just, it's weird.

It's weird timing to me.

I, I saw it and I was like,

are they broken up?

And then you were like, no.

And I'm like, this is just really weird.

I don't know,

but I hope it's for the best.

Yeah.

I, um,

I made the comment that she's starting to

change coaches like Sarah.

Yeah.

Um, and I, I got told no immediately.

Not that's not Sarah level,

but she's started a brute.

She went to mayhem.

She went to Mario back to mayhem and

now back to root.

So it's like an up and down ladder

of coaches.

Yep.

Back to her roots.

Um,

And I hope she finds something right.

Like that.

And maybe what I told you on text

is maybe her and Austin need a little

separation during the day.

Just some, I mean,

I've been married for twenty nine years.

Occasionally you needed some time apart.

I mean,

he's Austin said it like she does will

not talk CrossFit.

When they're at home, like.

That's not what she wants to talk about.

I kind of wonder if they aren't training

together though,

if there will be some CrossFit talk since

they aren't.

I mean, if you've,

if you're with them all day at the

gym and doing workouts together,

you have no business talking about it once

you get home,

but it'll be different if we're not

training together.

So before we move on the men.

The men, Saxon Pancheck with the win.

My guy.

My guy.

The one time I don't,

the one time I did not pick him

in the top three.

I figured this would be a good event

for him.

Like this is, I mean,

JR program's pretty classic CrossFit stuff

that that's right up Pancheck's alley.

He won two events.

Yeah.

More than Colton, right?

I think Colton won two, too, didn't he?

No.

I think he only won the one because,

well,

Saxon beat him in the one that we

thought he'd win.

So there you go.

Yep.

But Ty won two.

I know.

So it ends up Saxon in first,

Ty Jenkins in second,

and Austin Hatfield tied with Ty.

But because Ty won the two events,

Ty got the tiebreaker.

And then you have Nate Ackerman just on

the outside again.

And then Colton Mertens in fifth.

Nate looked devastated.

I mean,

Nate and Janie both looked heartbroken.

For her, this is like, you know,

kind of the first real shot.

So hopefully she takes some things from

this.

For him, I feel like, you know,

kind of got a little bit robbed last

year and,

and now you do everything you can and

it's just still not enough.

It's, it sucks.

Yeah.

I, on one hand, I hope,

I hope he comes back fighting online.

A lot of the big names are already

in.

Yeah.

He has an excellent shot at making it

online and,

But the youth in the sport,

like Ty and Nate both beat Colton in

an event that a lot of people said

Colton would win four events.

I know.

Like Ty won two.

I know.

The youth in the sport is crazy good.

Crazy good.

And then you have OG Saxon winning it.

Hell, Travis Mayer was top ten.

I figured he would be.

I wanted Quinn to get a spot.

I was bummed for him.

Yeah,

I don't know much about Quinn other than

what I've seen at Crash and at Mayhem.

The guy looks like he's right on the

verge.

I know.

I mean, it was a strong field.

I don't think anyone would have had a

better shot at Norkel.

I mean,

there was only the two spots there,

and I think the right two made it

out of there.

Yeah.

The shakeups on the leaderboard were

crazy.

The programming was great at creating

leaderboard chaos.

And yes,

it was really sad seeing Nate afterwards.

I was right behind him when he finished

that workout and he sunk right to the

cooler.

And yeah.

I get it.

Yeah, I think Dave likes Nate.

I think Dave will be calling him to

demo again if he doesn't get it online.

I think he'll get it online.

I think he will too.

He's got a great shot online.

What else?

Alexis,

she overheated on the first workout.

Yeah.

It seems like every big event,

she's having some kind of medical issue

with

I hope she gets it fixed.

Because when she looks good,

she looks really good on the floor.

Yeah,

but every workout's not going to be a

softball ball toss right up the middle for

you.

She's got to learn to deal with these

workouts that aren't perfect for her.

And what is it?

Is it because she's nervous and she's

trying to go out too hot and stay

with field in a workout that she shouldn't

be?

Like, I don't know.

I mean,

I think there's a lot to delve into

there to figure out what's going on with

her.

Yeah, I don't know.

I saw Kyle Ruth briefly,

but no time to like really talk to

him.

And not that he would want to talk

about it this weekend anyway.

But yeah.

Yeah.

I did have two little shout-outs.

My old coach at Polaris took thirteenth.

He looked really good.

Yeah, Alexander Majors,

he was my coach at Polaris.

Every noon class I would go to.

One of the nicest guys ever.

And he had some real,

he had some nice home runs.

He did great on Nate.

He looked great.

So that was really,

really exciting to see him.

And then on the women's side,

Elena Pomerisi,

I saw her at a local comp three

years ago and thought this girl is going

to do something.

And we asked her if we could follow

her through the open and we did.

And it's so cool to see her on

a semifinal stage now.

And, uh,

And she looked good on some of the

events too.

I agree.

Her and Tracy Johnson.

I remember you kind of followed both of

them.

Yeah.

Yeah,

that's when I first met you and asked

you if we could follow you.

Yeah.

So you all three were in that.

Yeah,

I was keen on watching them this weekend.

I was thinking the same thing the whole

time.

The funny thing is Elena,

her last name is Pomerisi,

and her fans in the crowd would do

this as she was racing the Italian race.

Yeah.

It was really cool.

That's like the Nicolette Toragiani.

They were, I mean,

Bill and Cool Boy would do that a

lot on the broadcast.

Mark Phillips,

I kept seeing Griffin roll out there.

No, that's my guy, Alex Majors.

He does give Griffin vibes for sure.

Yeah, long-haired blonde.

Yeah.

Griffin's was a little redder,

I would say.

Yeah.

Alex is a little taller.

Yeah.

And probably a little more lean.

So how about Rhino punching their ticket

there at the end?

Were you so excited for Allison?

I...

So for people who don't know both Raph

and Alison have been, uh,

commentators for us during the games in

the past,

Alison did it last year with us.

Raph did it in like, gosh, twenty-two,

twenty-three and Raph and his team have

made it to the games two years in

a row.

Alison,

everybody knows has been struggling to get

to the games since like what,

twenty-fifteen?

Yeah.

And they came into that last event in

fifth.

Yeah.

And they won it by a lot.

Yeah.

They looked really good.

And to see her cry as soon as

it was over,

like the tears just gushing down her face

and how excited Raph was.

And I think he was as excited that

they got her there.

I agree.

As he was going himself.

Yeah.

We've been saying we wanted her on the

team with them.

I'm excited that she's doing it.

And Raph would always answer,

I'm not good enough to compete with her.

Right.

And yeah, they made it.

It was really, really great.

Really great.

I'm so excited.

She did it.

Syndicate is greater than Torian.

I've never been to Torian.

Yeah.

And Wilson is like my guy.

Yeah.

I'll never go against Wilson Pac.

So I can't pick with my head.

I loved that they did the... Like the...

regular joes at whatever athlete spotlight

workouts i mean that showcases yeah that

was a that was a good idea and

it's like it's good for the fans there

or even watching it on tv to like

see the workout flow through and then you

know what to sort of expect from the

athletes you had really great athletes you

had regular i like uh so there were

a lot of comments so

Allison was a noble model, right?

She was a born primitive model.

Correct.

She's got like.

She had a line with them.

She did after her cat.

I cannot think of what she called her

cat.

But yes, she had.

But she's not she's not with them anymore.

But for a while she had her own

signature line and she was a model for

them.

Yeah.

How was the showcase in person?

Everybody there loved it.

Yeah.

Um,

I think everybody loved getting to see

Hobart out on the floor.

They loved when Hopper and Kyra and Paige

went head to head to head.

Um,

today they loved Miley Wade out there

doing her thing.

Um,

It just was really fun.

And when there's downtime,

why not fill the space with something fun?

Agree.

Now,

what I'll say is what was really funny

is Hiller didn't do the workout correctly.

I know.

Immediately went to the rope and not the

sled.

Yeah.

Well, he came out to the handstand walk,

did one sled when you had to do

two laps because it was two hundred feet.

And went to the rope and J.R.

came down and had to yell at him.

But Mr.

Standards himself couldn't even follow the

standards for the rope.

I kind of wondered if he wasn't testing

the judges.

He was not.

I mean, because people are always like,

you do what you can get away with.

I mean, if the judge lets you go,

then you go.

No, he messed up.

He knew him, and then he felt bad.

I mean, I was standing right there.

He was, yeah.

He did not mean to do that.

Speaking of judges,

the judges were pretty good this weekend

calling no reps from what I could see

from my angle.

Now TV broadcast might get a better angle,

but there was one judge that should not

have been on the floor.

That guy was going to hurt somebody or

get hurt himself.

He didn't know where to move on the

floor.

He almost got run over by a wheelbarrow.

Like it was bad.

That's not good.

Yeah.

I tried to get booze going for Hiller.

I don't think anybody was in a booing

mood.

Paige is a finisher.

She came on at the end of that

showcase.

At first,

I thought she didn't even care about this

event.

She's just out here.

And then the next thing you know,

she is blazing a trail up to catch

everybody.

Kyra was there the whole weekend,

both Saturday and Sunday,

supporting the Proven Athletes.

That's awesome.

Um, yeah, I thought that was really cool.

Did any, so who, I mean,

you have TTT with Lydia and then brew

and then knifer with, uh, Danielle, who,

what are,

what are they on the men's side?

I'm it.

Did anyone from proven make it?

Cause it was all like all proven at

Korean.

No, because it's mostly Mayhem.

Saxon's Mayhem.

Austin's Mayhem.

And Ty is Brute.

And Brute.

So there you go.

Brute and Mayhem.

And Knifer.

DB yelled at a judge, right?

Almost.

Not surprising.

Do you want to know the real tea,

Ed?

Do you want to know the real tea?

Yeah, with the real tea,

because I missed that.

I think she was yelling at Ortega.

Oh.

Okay, that tracks.

There was a few times that I saw

media getting in the way again.

Oh.

They were all over the floor.

I was getting really frustrated.

Yeah.

Yeah, it was...

It was nearly impossible.

I shouldn't say impossible.

Every time I had like a good shot

lined up, a media person would.

And then if the person is winning,

it was like eight media people came to

that lane.

And that's what the fans want to see

too.

Why do we need eight camera angles on

the same lane?

There were times that there was, like,

a perfect camera angle from the floor.

It would have been, like,

kind of back behind your media pit.

And a media person would get in the

way on the floor.

And then you couldn't, like,

you couldn't see the shot anymore.

And they, like, would try to move, but,

like, oh, yeah.

The media people just need to be off

the floor.

I hate it.

No, Ortega's not a judge, Gabby.

Yeah,

Ortega was doing the spin broadcast as a

cameraman.

I wish HQ would kick in some dough

for scoring graphics every semi.

Agreed.

So what I learned this weekend is

Competition Corner has created a rep

counter system that they're letting people

use for free.

You have to buy like the app system,

right?

They said as long as you have iPhones.

And I think if your event is using

Competition Corner.

Gotcha.

Yeah.

for the leaderboard,

then you get to use it for free.

I saw the night before preview that I

think Spin did where Wilson was showing

that system.

It wasn't Wilson that was showing it.

Who was that?

I don't know.

I think the guy from Competition Corner.

I was like, this is awesome.

did you see what happened to Henry

Matthews and his judge with the handstands

chirping back some I'll be honest like the

one event I did not enjoy was Nate

from because being in person everything is

inside the rig yeah so it's really hard

to see anything live he's talking about

the handstand walk today Matthew's got two

no reps on the handstand walk but I

can see what you're saying about Nate yeah

But yeah,

Matthew's got sent back twice on the

handstand walk today with the wheelbarrow.

Okay.

He was getting frustrated.

You didn't see it happen?

I saw him get sent back.

I didn't see the chirping.

Scott and floor cameras.

Oh, dude.

It and finish lines are my two things.

But JR was awesome about finish lines.

what's great about that like touching

there's no buzzer but touching that cone

just let you know like who who was

in the lead um john didn't enjoy me

either i'm guessing

AZ, Zachy, I thought it was a lot.

There were streaming cameras,

but the amount of cameras that were just

taking photos on the floor is just too

much.

Yes.

And there's people there with lenses like

this long.

Exactly.

You can get nose hair from the sideline.

Agreed.

I didn't enjoy Nate either.

Yeah.

I can't believe you couldn't get one more

muscle up than Tyler.

Yes, they did it.

I like the broadcast.

You guys crushed it, Spin.

some of the i mean obviously that's like

the some of that camera stuff is it

is what it is i mean it's what

the comp allows if you're gonna allow

people on the floor that's what it's gonna

be the way it is commentary was good

i think both sides with both both norcale

and uh spin they could both work on

learning the names and pronouncing them

beforehand a little practice but I mean

once you get rolling it's you're just

speaking it's whatever you see quickly

comes out however it comes out favorite

moments from the weekend so personally it

would be Rhino punching their ticket

because two of my friends and one of

them who has never made it to the

games is going

Saxon winning was epic for me personally.

But probably the favorite moment of the

weekend was seeing Lydia Fish learn the

switch,

learn to be able to go into that

space for an event and just turn it

on.

It was so cool to see that in

person.

Yeah.

So someone said that John and Tyler should

be photoshopped into Bert and Ernie.

Who's Bert?

Who's Ernie?

CrossFit says Ernie's Tyler easily.

Okay.

Terry's favorite moment is seeing Haley

get emotional.

Yeah.

Tyler learned how to say Zoe.

I mean, I feel like you guys,

as like people chat or maybe people came

and talked to you and would give you

guys some pronunciations you try to do

better.

But yeah, I understand.

Probably a lot harder than it seems.

Yeah.

I didn't see most of the broadcast.

I was commentating in my own head as

I was telling people.

So I didn't get to hear any of

it.

I was coming on my own head too.

I would just like say the names for

them.

I was yelling at a lot this weekend.

Yeah.

I thought they were epic competitions.

The way the leaderboard shuffled at the

end of both were great.

It was exciting.

I mean, nothing was locked up.

The venue,

the crowd was pretty decent on Saturday.

I talked to Gabe from Paper Street.

He had his best day in two years

on Saturday.

That's awesome.

And, um, and then what,

but there weren't many vendors like there,

which was sad.

They had one acai bowl tent that had

a mile six,

had a line six miles long.

Always do.

Um,

the vindicate paper street booth was

hopping the whole weekend um but there

wasn't much it was really it was sad

because i remember the days of like vendor

village being packed at these events and i

hope we can get back there someday because

it was definitely there just weren't many

options

And they had the spectator,

they had like a spectator workout area.

Cause the one we were there was outside,

but they had that inside this time.

So when we were there,

there was a competition outside.

Right.

Now there's right.

So where John and,

and Tyler and spin were right behind them

was a floor.

And what they do is they bring the

equipment that the athletes were going to

use and

And so you could do the wheelbarrow.

Nice.

And they had workouts set up.

You just registered through a QR code.

And if you worked out,

you got a free t-shirt.

That's awesome.

But yeah,

you got to play with the wheelbarrow or

whatever apparatus they were,

D-balls or whatever they were using that

day.

Yeah,

I think that's key at these comps to

have something like that set up.

Uh, Vicki says,

I knew I should have started my food

truck instead of this government job.

If you would add a food,

there was not,

there were not many options for food,

but there was a guy there with, uh,

making charcuterie boards.

And he said, he said to Julie,

I cannot believe how much meat and cheese

these CrossFitters eat.

Yeah, that's true.

But they were nice, too.

They had, like,

different meats and cheeses with carrots

and pickles and olives and, like,

all the stuff.

And he was almost sold out at the

end of the day Saturday.

Wow.

Does Torian have a vendor village?

Sure they do.

Torian is a community event as well.

Yeah.

Scott,

if the wheelbarrow is anything like a

pushing a sled in football,

I'm sure you would own that race.

I used to be really good at sleds,

like CrossFit sleds even.

Really good at them.

It's been a while.

It's been a while.

Someone's asking if Emily qualified at

NorCal.

I don't think so.

Sorry.

I didn't realize that.

It changed my voice.

I got scolded.

I'm in a hotel with a really bad

chair.

What I would tell Andrew is maybe you

should read the standards before you do an

event.

How about that?

Sometimes you just kind of blink when you

get out there.

Your brain has to like just focus on

moving.

Yeah, yeah.

Trust me, in the gym,

I'm the guy squinting at the board trying

to see what the next movement is.

So Ortega says,

nice seeing you this weekend.

So Jonathan, I got to know,

was Danielle yelling at you at the end

of...

It was the one with the wheelbarrow and...

He's blaming the judge.

Okay.

I don't know.

It kind of looked like she was yelling

at you, Jonathan.

Just saying.

I got to go find that clip.

Somebody put it up.

Oh, was it counting loud enough?

I could see that, too.

I've seen Danielle yell at other judges

for not counting out loud.

Yeah.

Counting down the clock.

famously in her open video.

That's fair.

Grace has said the showcases were so much

fun.

I loved them.

They were fun, man.

And everybody I talked to in the crowd

loved them.

It was a nice break from the day.

Yeah.

I think more accounts should adopt that.

I saw her mouth move auto.

Well, if it was during the handstand walk,

what would the judge be counting?

What does she need?

I mean.

It might have been on the double under

part of that workout.

I don't know.

The flex cam.

I loved that.

That was pretty fun.

That was a great addition.

I mean,

it was cool sitting at home to see

that camera pan around the audience to see

who's there.

Yeah, that was fun.

CrossFit.

So showcases are the CrossFit version of

the Red Panda.

And if you don't know who the Red

Panda is,

it's the Asian woman on a unicycle who

flips onto her head.

Yep.

So, yes, Syndicate was a blast.

Since Hiller's here,

I do want to say this.

I've loved all of his behind-the-scenes

content that I could watch.

I need to get caught up on a

lot of it.

Me too.

But he did put out a comment that

he thinks it's the best it's ever been.

Why do we have to fight?

Why do we have to nudge?

what's the best it's ever been i that

he filler put out a comment that i

think that this behind the scenes is the

best that's ever been oh why do we

have to poke the bear why can't you

just i like when i have multiple

storytellers and i get to get different

perspectives in different ways and i've

loved taylor's behind the scenes so far

But I think it's going both ways.

People are taking nudges or shots or jabs

in both directions.

And I've said this a million times.

To me, I'm not watching for that.

I'm watching for the content.

I just want to enjoy the content again.

Yep.

Besides using a Hoobastank song,

behind the scenes have been great.

I feel like there was comments on there

that people loved the music.

Andrew, I've loved everything.

But I watch so much content,

I like different storytellers.

But I've loved what I've seen so far.

Loved it.

Kenneth, did you talk to Dave?

Well, Dave talked to me.

How about that?

Dave slapped me in the back and said,

what up, dog?

Which I did not expect coming from Dave.

And then he turned,

we fist bumped and talked briefly.

But you don't get long conversations with

Dave.

No.

And CrossFit now is singing Hoobastank.

I mean,

I think your pieces speak for themselves.

You get the views.

There's lots of comments.

People love them.

Three separate pieces in that video make

the claim legit.

I don't think it was meant in the

way you understood it.

Maybe, Peter.

Maybe.

Just give them my opinion.

Other behind the scenes I've put on as

background noise without watching first.

Hiller's behind the scenes.

I sit down and pay attention.

Man, these are moving too fast.

Hiller's is also mostly just proud.

And you should be proud.

You should be.

They're really, really good.

Great, in fact.

I have not seen the one with Danielle

yet.

Seems like she was a lot more open.

She seemed open to media in general this

weekend.

That's good.

I think when she didn't think she was

going to make it was the one time

she kind of closed off.

Yeah.

But I think that's understandable.

Mm-hmm.

You heard her here first, guys.

Dave put his hands on Scott.

Fire him now.

Mama Brandon was in the chat.

She's usually pretty active.

Agreed, Wayne.

I was surprised she let her guard down

even a little like that.

I've always had great experiences talking

with Danielle.

Always.

And she's always been very open about

things with me.

It's just in the last little bit,

I think she felt attacked and she started

closing off.

And it looks like she's kind of throwing

that away and kind of opening up again.

All right.

So that's the syndicate.

It was a great time.

I'll definitely be back again next year if

they do it again.

Or who knows what kind of format we'll

have next year.

That's the one thing I wanted to ask

Hiller, but he was always on the move.

Hiller always has good music playing,

even when he had Alexis working out.

How he gets to use real music,

I would love to know the secret.

I need to message him.

I need to find that out.

Well, he's listening.

Maybe he'll tell you.

Because I think that makes the content so

much better.

Something about Knoxville feels like

almost the right city.

I'll tell you why CrossFat is.

I posted some stuff and I tagged Knoxville

in it as my location.

They like and respond to all of that

stuff as a city.

You don't always get that with a city.

I just can't speak properly.

Fergie,

you're the first person to point it out.

I thought you were great.

I listened to teams a couple times coming

in.

I thought Peter was great on the

broadcast.

I loved Peter on every broadcast he's

done.

I think he should be one of the

new talking heads.

Yeah.

So we had two other events going on

this weekend.

Again,

I have not caught up a lot on

these.

I'm going to see if NorCal is final.

Well,

we know the men was final before we

got on.

So the women's is final.

Alex Kazan overtook Rachel.

Wow.

Must not have been a great event for

Rachel.

I mean, you figure... Rachel took second.

Yeah,

I don't even know if she could have

possibly fallen out of second.

Rachel took a twenty-fourth on the last

event.

Yeah.

Who took third?

Leah Storn.

Okay.

Emily Rolfe took fourth.

Good for her.

I mean, that's a good showing there.

Not an easy count.

How about Carissa Stapp?

Longtime friend of the show.

Finishing sixth.

And she was in a qualifying spot for

me.

I know.

She was, I mean,

it sucked for her because I feel like

everything Rachel was good at, she was,

that's what she was good at.

So she wasn't going to be able to

surpass Rachel.

They were like neck and neck on the

two events.

Literally back and back.

And I guess Carolyn won the last event.

That's awesome.

That's awesome.

Good for her.

She was on just as we were finishing

up.

Just getting ready to come on the show.

So I didn't know where that ended up.

Good for her.

And on the men's side, Tudor, of course,

won.

And Dylan Hamming got second.

Yeah,

Victor Lundahl was not good at that event.

Mitchell Stevenson was third.

Spencer Pancheck was fourth.

So the only reason I know who Dylan

Hamming is is because I've had to hang

out with you for the last three years,

and you make me watch eighth day CrossFit

every time they compete.

So I've known Dylan for a while.

crazy that he's going to the games as

an individual.

Yeah.

I mean, he was close at Legends.

He just sent it and couldn't hold on.

That dude's fit.

I mean,

I've seen him here at local comps for

years,

so it's fun to see someone come out

of the teens and make a run at

individuals and be able to make it.

Yeah.

Now, on the women's side, I...

I have followed Rachel Noel for a while.

This blew me away.

Agreed.

This many event wins?

Yeah, agreed.

She won three events at a minimum?

She had four.

I count three.

Three.

Yeah,

eighth day has been around and sending

teams for a long time.

I think it was four.

Yeah,

I think she had four going into the

last day.

Yep.

She won quad trio, the mountain,

sand trap, and a bar exam.

Yep.

So...

To come out of nowhere.

And like her best semifinal finish is like

twenty fourth.

Yeah.

And to come out of nowhere and win

four events at NorCal.

Against the likes of LZN.

Crazy.

I. I don't even know what to say.

I don't.

Because she's been around a while.

Yeah.

I mean,

was this just like perfect programming for

her or what?

Like it's, it is really, it's crazy.

Yeah.

I really don't know.

Having strict dumbbell press be your

pressing event and eighteen K biker be

your heavy endurance event takes two big

weaknesses and turns them into event wins.

I'm not a fan of this,

but congrats to her.

I can see that.

How did Gazan do?

She won.

She won,

but only because Rachel took a

twenty-fourth.

Yeah.

It looks like Gazan's lowest finish was an

eighth.

Ninth.

Was a ninth.

Ninth.

Oh,

so she's so she can't do handstand push

ups.

That's, that's a bit of a problem.

How'd she make it?

We tested strict handstand push ups.

Plenty.

Well,

I guess she's a group with a second

place, but we tested in quarterfinals.

We tested strict handstand push ups.

I watch Mrs. Rachel as a twin.

My theory is her sister did the even

and Rachel did the odds.

Well, it is.

It just may not be the test you...

It is to an extent.

I mean,

I think part of the problem is,

especially watching people do strict

handstand push-ups at these comps,

it's evident to me, it's always been,

but it's very evident to me that people

do whatever the hell they want to do

in their own gym and just get away

with whatever they want to do.

And that's how they get through.

So again,

we may do like an emergency podcast

midweek with Carolyn to get her feedback

on NorCal and, um,

And talk about that and Mad Fit once

we get caught up.

But Mad Fit finished first of all three

events.

Three men,

three women made the games from this.

On the men's side, Enola Kai won.

Lewis.

See,

you had to say mispronunciation of names.

And now I've got to read this.

Luis Cielar.

Oh, he was at French Throwdown.

I want to say it's like Cuiar.

And Callum Clements.

Oh, Callum made it.

Those are your top three.

One spot out by two points was Yonikoski.

Man,

I feel like maybe Nate or someone should

have gone out there.

Maybe.

It was an all-Spanish podium.

Yeah, that's crazy.

It's Cuellar.

That's close.

On the elite female side, big shocker,

Gabby Magawa.

Oh, I didn't even know she was there.

Okay.

Lucy McGonigal took second.

Okay.

And Elle Wilkinson took third.

Good for her.

Claudia Gluck took fifth.

Mathilde Garnes took sixth.

Dang, Claudia Gluck missed out again.

Poor girl.

Goodness gracious.

And Aileen Wurz took the fourth position.

I skipped over.

Yeah, online's going to be...

There's still some names that need to do

some work.

What are you thinking about...

Pat and Emily.

Rolf's chances.

Emily's good online.

I think she'll be fine.

Again,

I think Claudia Gluck's going to be fine.

Matilde's probably going to be fine.

Emily Rolf's going to be fine.

Who I'm worried about is Alexis Raptus.

She's got to get better.

Yeah.

I'm just trying to think of all the

people who've missed.

I think both Emily and Pat should have

done Masters.

I think Pat makes it online.

But it's going to be tight.

It's going to be real tight.

So Wajima's putting up Pat, Justin,

Colton, Nate, Quinn.

I think Nate has a great chance.

I think Justin has a great chance.

Colin probably does.

Colin does well online.

Colin will probably win it.

I don't know.

The thing about the judge thing, though,

Colton can do the same workout six times

in a weekend.

Yeah.

And he has a lot of times.

Well,

he better review all of his video and

make sure everything's perfect because

that's the last thing he needs.

And I feel like there will be other

people who don't,

who hopefully get knocked for...

It is going to be hard online.

This is going to be crazy.

Yeah, we've got Ariel.

We've got Alexis, Rolf, Gluck.

It's what, seven spots?

Mm-hmm.

There's way more names than seven names.

It'd be cool if it was televised.

That would be cool.

Kenyo, Grace Walton.

Yeah, that's going to be tough.

My thoughts are also,

what are the workouts?

And there's going to be a surprise.

There's going to be your Rachel Noel's or

your.

Yeah.

It's crazy.

Peter Ellis.

Harry Lightfoot.

now that your name we're naming all the

names yeah there's so many so vicky says

there's the season drama i wanted yeah and

none of it's shown to us it's all

in her own gyms doing her own thing

and none of us get to see the

drama

And it'll be a hidden leaderboard until

Monday night.

And then you just get to read it.

You don't get to see it.

You just get to read it.

Oh, we'll get to see it.

There will be some serious judging going

on.

But there's no head-to-head competition.

I know.

Well, when it comes out on Monday,

I don't think Colton would have won NCC,

no.

I don't think he beats Tudor.

I don't think he can beat Dylan at

those events.

Not with that.

The run.

Dylan's an excellent runner.

So that first event with the run.

He won that event.

The.

He would have done great at the clean

at the bar exam.

The clean and jerk.

The rope climb.

I.

think would have gotten colton as well

that it was like that one and a

half rope climbs i think that would have

gotten him you know who else is really

good online is carolyn privo she's always

i i totally get her wanting to go

if she can make it but man she

just needs to go win the twenty thousand

dollars

I mean, Klutz is going team.

I'm about to have to sleep.

Congrats on Saxon, Scott.

You were the first person I thought of.

I even called him to win an event.

So I'm basically pro-pancho.

I heard that, yeah.

I don't believe it.

I don't believe it.

There's not enough room on the bandwagon.

What do you think about Justin at NCC?

He has to look better than he did

at Dorian.

That is a good question.

Because Justin would have done better at

NorCal Sioux than Dylan did.

That one hurt Dylan.

I don't know.

Tudor beats Justin.

Tudor's a top ten games athlete now.

That's the thing.

And I think you guys are somewhat selling

Dylan a little bit short.

I mean, he was beating Tudor at Legends.

And James.

So, the dude is fit.

um big becca has a legit shot gosh

she that overhead squatted if she would

have caught the first one right i know

not that she would have got it but

she would have been close yeah and as

tiny as that girl is like to be

able to do that overhead squat like she

did once she got it locked

Yeah, she amazes me.

I wouldn't have been able to do that.

It is seven men and seven women.

You are correct, yes.

All right, well,

I think that's all I got in me

tonight.

Yeah, you've had a long weekend.

She looked great.

She's so much stronger than when she made

the games.

Field is crazy deep now.

She's way stronger.

That's for sure.

And if it's a gymnastic event,

she is really, really good.

Larry Young, four ninety nine.

Really, Spin was the MVP of that show.

I wanted Becca to get back.

Yeah,

Brian Spinn did a lot of work behind

the scenes of that broadcast.

The graphics looked awesome.

The leaderboards were updated quickly.

And you know that's all him on the

back end.

Yeah.

And they were showing that on the

Jumbotron during the competition.

That's awesome.

Yeah.

He lost ten pounds this weekend.

Oh, man.

I think it's got to be hard for

all of you.

Yeah.

I dude,

I don't eat when I go to these

things.

Yeah.

I, and I get hangry.

Like, you know, I'm always like,

I gotta go get some food.

I like, I can't deal with that.

Last thing is, uh,

Julian are staying in the exact same

hotel.

You and I stayed in last time we

were here.

And we explored the food scene a little

more around the hotel.

And there are way many more places than

we found.

Fergie ate for both of us.

Thank you, Fergie.

All right, with that, it's been awesome.

I love jumping on with you guys tonight.

I had a blast at Syndicate.

It's good to get the feedback in the

water.

Can't wait for the games now.

Just got to figure out what the hell

I'm doing for that.

With that,

I hope you guys have a great weekend.

rest of your night and into the week.

There will be no lunch with the Clydesdale

tomorrow as I'll be on the road on

the way back to Columbus.

And,

but we'll be back on Tuesday and I'm

going to leave you with this because,

and I'm going to let Corey talk about

it more this week.

If you didn't go to the event or

any of the events,

you don't have the right to bitch in

the comments about people not being at the

event.

Very true.

With that, we'll say goodnight.

And I'll let Corey back that up this

week.

Hope you have a great night, guys.

Bye.
