build an identity so strong you cant stop making money (1) (00:01)
You don't rise to the level of money that you want to make, you fall to the level of your identity. You can build the best offers, master sales, develop the best marketing strategy. But if deep down you identify with someone who always struggles with money, then you'll approach business always from that identity. I've made one and a half million dollars online from coaching and consulting, and I've seen that.

Building my identity has made me way more money than the latest content funnel or strategy. And in this video, I want to walk you through how to build an identity so strong you can't stop making money. Now I want you to consider yourself as an asset and your identity being the biggest determinant of the value of that asset. Now imagine you have one million dollars that you deposit in a bank.

At six percent interest.

Now that would mathematically generate you sixty thousand dollars a year in interest or five thousand dollars a month. Now if you're a coach, consultant, or service provider, you are essentially the product. And if you're currently generating five thousand dollars a month consistently and predictably, it is the equivalent of one million dollars in a bank at six percent interest. It's mathematical equation. So mathematically

You are worth one million dollars. That's pretty cool. So the question is, if you want to make fifty thousand dollars a month, how do you become a ten million dollar asset? And it's this equation that makes me realize that money is a mirror. And it's mirroring back not just who I think I am and say I am, but at who I actually am.

my actions, my habits, what I repeatedly do, and importantly who I am when I'm under pressure. So if I want to change the amount of money that I'm making, aka the mirror, I don't stand in front of the mirror and shout commands. I change the image that's being projected onto the mirror. aka my identity. And there are three ways to change your identity.

Your body, your mind and your spirit.

So starting with your body.

If money is a mirror, the more money you make, the more money you want to make, the bigger the mirror. The bigger the mirror, the more that gets reflected back to you.

And much like money, a mirror is neutral. It has no preferences. It reflects back perfectly what it sees. If you have a zit on your face, it will show you that zit and how zitty that zit is. Money is the same. It has no preference. And it will reflect back both the positive and the perceived negative. The abundance, the choice, the luxury, the comfort, but also the responsibility, the accountability.

the pressure, the judgment. So the first place to start is building your capacity to hold both the perceived good and the perceived bad, to hold this energy.

And I experienced this firsthand in November last year when I had my first a hundred K launch. And even though it was what I said I wanted, it was brand new to my nervous system. My identity hadn't caught up with it yet. And I didn't know it at the time, but I went into a fear response. And my chosen fear response is one of fight. So I went into this hyper control and hyper focus and

I thought I was being productive and I thought it was the right thing to do, but actually it was a fear response. I also took on way too much responsibility. I remember the first call with these 17 new clients who'd just signed up and I remember thinking, I can't hold this. This is too much. And I was taking on all their pressure and all their projections of the ex results they were expected and I was exhausted and it took me a month to realise what was going on.

But at that time I hadn't really built the capacity to hold that energy. And I didn't burn out, but I was pretty freaking close. And it's like a light bulb. You know, every light bulb has a voltage that it can hold. And if you put 10 times the voltage through a light bulb, it will z it will zap and it will blow. Well, your identity has a voltage, it has a capacity. So the first step.

is always in building your capacity and I see my body as the vessel, it's the determinant of how much I can hold. If you're tired, stressed, unhealthy, not exercising,

Then it's going to be really hard to hold the energy and the amount of money that you want to make. So this is always a place to start. It's building your capacity to hold more. Now, your body is just one part of the equation. You could build the capacity to hold the amount of money that you want to make, but if you find yourself constantly self-sabotaging and pulling yourself back into previous levels of income, it's because you haven't aligned your mind. Now, your mind has two levels. There's the

Conscious mind, which I see as the command center, and it has two jobs to set the direction and to control the flow of attention and focus. Bob Proctor says we only have two limitations in life: the poverty of our imagination, aka the direction, and the weakness of attention. Then the subconscious mind is a goal-seeking machine.

And the more you repeat a behavior, the more efficient it becomes at getting yourself getting you to that ⁓ to that goal. It also responds perfectly to instructions. It's neutral, it doesn't have preferences. So the job is to align your conscious mind and your subconscious mind. So again, if you find yourself constantly self-sabotaging, it's because your conscious and your subconscious aren't aligned. So setting a goal.

is is not enough. You need to use your conscious mind to reprogram your subconscious mind. So this is where we introduce mental rehearsal and visualization. Now your subconscious mind is most programmable when it is ⁓ relaxed, which is before bed and just on waking up. So personally before bed I go through

A gratitude practice and then I visualize the future that I want to create. And as soon as I wake up, I go into a gratitude practice and I visualize the life that I want to create. And it's with that constant mental rehearsal that I have aligned my conscious mind and my subconscious mind. And it's why I've created or how I've created a life, our dream life here in Portugal, because I've rehearsed it more times in my mind than in reality. And because the subconscious mind

responds perfectly to instructions and it's a goal-seeking mic machine, it will it has to create the reality, it has to follow instructions. Our subconscious mind is so much more powerful than our conscious mind. Our conscious mind sets the direction, the what, our subconscious mind determines how we get there. So by now that we've built your capacity through the body, we've aligned our mind

Third step is to align our spirit. My scripture, my guide is the Tao De Ching, and one of my favorite verses of the Tao De Ching says the Tao does nothing but leaves nothing undone. And what that means to me is that when you align yourself with your spirit,

You don't need to do anything. A tree, for example, doesn't do anything. It's just a tree. And I know that's a really simple thing to say, but that's why I like to spend so much time in nature because we are no different to nature. A tree trusts that in the seed of a tree is the information needed to become a tree. There's no effort, there's no force, it's just pure allowing.

And this is what's possible when you align yourself with your natural spirit. The Tao does nothing but leaves nothing undone. And the way I've discovered my natural spirit is actually using frustration and triggers as a sign of what to lean into. I remember when I first discovered Tony Robbins, he actually really triggered me.

And at first I judged him and I pushed him away, but then someone said something that shifted everything for me. They said, What you see in others exists in in you. And it landed because I don't compare myself to ski jumpers or a hundred meter athletes, sprint athletes, because that potential doesn't exist in me. I realized I was triggered by Tony Robbins and was comparing myself to Tony Robbins because that potential

Deep down I knew existed in me. So I used that frustration as a sign of what to lean into. So went to his program and I started to learn about coaching. I started doing more public speaking and now I get paid to to speak. And one day I know that I'll be on a stage in front of tens of thousands of people because I know that potential exists in me and I've aligned myself with that potential.

Sounds very nice, but it's actually really hard because this requires an un unbelievable amount of courage to trust inspired action in spirit. Inspired action. Wayne Dyer says motivation is when you take a project and run with it. Inspiration is when a project takes you and runs with it. Motivation's like swimming upstream. It's about force and effort and doing.

Inspiration is about aligning with the river and going with the flow. Inspiration, I find, is like a whisper at the start, it's like pulling a thread. It's slow to start, and then it can move really, really fast. And when you align yourself with your spirit and take inspired action and trust with no force, no effort, no

Fixation on control.

There's no doing. And the results, the life that you want to create just naturally happens. There's a word in Taoism that's wu-wei, it means effortless action, non-doing. So this isn't about doing nothing. This is about acting in harmony with your natural essence and not trying to force and control everything. Tools like

Human design, gene keys, astrology are really amazing tools to understand who you naturally are. And I think we all intuitively know that anyway. And as I said, when you align yourself with this, life is pretty effortless, and results happen effortlessly. So if there's one thing I want you to remember from this video, is that to make more money, you need to look at who's making the money and build the identity.

through the body, building the capacity that determines how much you can hold, then aligning your mind which determines what you will hold, and then

Acting in harmony with your natural spirit, which will really determine how fast you hold the thing that you want. Because your identity is the asset and your income is the return that that asset produces. So stop focusing exclusively on how to make more money and start focusing more on how to become someone who can generate and sustain that kind of money. Now, if something's landed for you today.
