Welcome back, everybody, for another deep dive. And, today, we're we're really diving deep this time into the Space Adventures of MicroBoo. Yeah. And we've got a lot a whole bunch of material here that we're gonna be looking at notes and excerpts from the books themselves and, a few web pages that we found.

Speaker 2:here That's a really interesting mix.
Speaker 1:To unpack about this, this little cat Mhmm. Who makes her way across the galaxy.
Speaker 2:I think what's so interesting is it's not just a story. It's like a whole universe. You know, they've really expanded it out. There's books, audiobooks, music. They've even got NFTs.
Speaker 1:Wow.
Speaker 2:And at the heart of it all is this family, the McBlinkies from Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Speaker 1:The McBlinkies. Yeah. They're interesting bunch. They're kind of a like, the quintessential odd couple. You've got Timothee, the artist.
Speaker 1:He's always got some kind of crazy new idea. And then you've got missus McBlinky, the scientist who's all about logic and, you know
Speaker 2:Yeah. Their contrasting approaches to life become a real driving force in the story.
Speaker 1:Exactly.
Speaker 2:Because you've got Timo with his out of the box thinking, and that really helps to bridge these cultural gaps with alien species. Yeah. And then you've got missus McPlinky who uses her scientific knowledge to solve problems that even advanced alien technology can't handle.
Speaker 1:Yeah. Like, when she uses the alien tech to create those hybrid plants.
Speaker 2:The star berry.
Speaker 1:The star berries. Talk about thinking outside the box. Yeah. Those things aren't just snacks. They have the potential to solve galactic food shortages.

Speaker 2:Turning lemons into lemonade.
Speaker 1:That's right.
Speaker 2:Star fruit into a galactic feast. Exactly. And it makes you wonder what else is out there. You know, what other solutions could we find if we just combine our understanding of the natural world with with this alien technology?
Speaker 1:Okay. So we've got this quirky family, the McBlinkies. We've got a good mix of art and science. But how do they end up smack dab in the middle of all these galactic affairs?
Speaker 2:Well, it all starts with Teemote's unexpected abduction. He's whisked away to the spaceship by none other than chief Twylo.
Speaker 1:Chief Twylo, leader of the Lagomorphs.
Speaker 2:Okay. Play the morphs. That's right.
Speaker 1:You gotta love this.
Speaker 2:Highly evolved rapids.
Speaker 1:Highly evolved rabbits who just happen to be Yeah. Obsessed with pro football.
Speaker 2:It's this brilliant combination of the unexpected and the familiar.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And it plays into the series' signature humor, but don't let their love of touchdowns fool you. Oh, no. These legomorphs they rule over, get this, 200,000,000,000 galaxies.
Speaker 1:Woah. That's a lot of power in the paws of some space bunnies. Why are they so interested in a little planet like Earth? I mean, we're not exactly known for our galactic prowess.
Speaker 2:Well, they see humanity as a bit of a wild card.
Speaker 1:Mhmm.
Speaker 2:You know, we're capable of great things, but we're also prone to conflict and destruction. Yeah. They're not entirely convinced we deserve a place in the wider galactic community.
Speaker 1:So they're not sure about us,
Speaker 2:Not quite yet.
Speaker 1:So T Mobile gets deducted. He's thrown into this cosmic trial to decide the fate of
Speaker 2:Earth. Right.
Speaker 1:And just to make a great first impression, he accidentally blows up 33 spacecraft

Speaker 2:Classic team oat.

Speaker 2:But it's amidst all this chaos that we meet the real star of the show, Mike Rabou.
Speaker 1:Mike Rabou. The little black cat from the McBlinky's backyard, the little kitty, goes from napping in sunbeams to a full fledged intergalactic ambassador.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So the ultimate rags to riches story, but with more purrs and a lot less glitter.
Speaker 2:I think what's so fascinating about micro goo is her unintentional impact.

Speaker 1:With Alexia, the Legomorph's AI Mhmm. And Synthetica, this rogue android.
Speaker 2:Synthetica. Now there's a villain for the ages.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2:She's got a vendetta against Alexia. She's got a thirst for power Right. And she's got an army of robots at her command.
Speaker 1:That's like a classic battle of good versus evil, but it's got these little twists and turns.
Speaker 2:Yeah. It's not so black and white, is it?
Speaker 1:Yeah. Like, the fact that Synthetica's motives aren't entirely evil Right. She actually thinks she's doing the right thing.
Speaker 2:She thinks she's saving the galaxy.
Speaker 1:Yeah. It makes you wonder if there really are good and bad sides or just different perspectives.
Speaker 2:Just different ways of looking at the greater good.
Speaker 1:Okay. So we've got micro boo charming, everybody. We've got missus McBlinky baking up these snacks. Mhmm. And we've got Synthetica trying to take over.
Speaker 2:That's right.
Speaker 1:But it's not all sunshine and spaceships. This universe has its share of cosmic challenges.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah. Definitely. One of the biggest threats is this guy, Zorlax. Zorlax? He's chief Twilio's ancient rival.
Speaker 2:This guy is a force to be reckoned with brute strength ancient grudges.
Speaker 1:Oh, boy.
Speaker 2:He's not afraid to use them.
Speaker 1:It's like having Darth Vader show up at a tea party.
Speaker 2:Exactly.
Speaker 1:You just know things are gonna get messy.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And then there's the search for the star of Twilio.
Speaker 2:Oh, right.
Speaker 1:This legendary artifact that's been missing for millions of years.
Speaker 2:Billions of years.
Speaker 1:It's supposed to be the key to restoring balance, but nobody really knows what it is.
Speaker 2:It's the ultimate MacGuffin.
Speaker 1:Yeah. And missus McBlinky prepares this mysterious disk. Yes. She's supposed to pair with it somehow.
