What is Modeling Success?

Modeling Success is created to bridge the gap between talent and brand. Putting everything out on the table, addressing current situations and hot unspoken topics that are happening in the industry that need to change. We will address topics such as the models and brand's point of view on industry topics. As well as discussing success in the industry, what it is to be a model and what agencies and brands are looking for when seeking talent. Just because you get paid for pictures does not make you a model. A model is "a system or thing used as an example to follow or imitate". A model is someone or something one aspires to become, someone who works their butt off and is someone people can look up to. This podcast is here to assist Talent in learning pride and true tactics for success in the industry.

I, Rian Donatelli, will use my 25+ years experience within this industry to discuss all these topics and more through conversions and panels with other people in the industry from talent to brand executives to the venues and establishments that we are operating in. We are going to find some hard truths that need to be heard on all fronts.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to modeling success. I'm your host, Ryan Donatelli. Let's get started. Hello. It's me, Ryan Donatelli,

Speaker 2:

as you know, your host of modeling success. And today, I'm going to break down my 7 fundamentals and steps to success. This question gets asked a lot from entrepreneurs and young business owners, and it's all about where do I get started. I know I wanna be better. I know I wanna be bigger.

Speaker 2:

I know I am not living to my fullest potential. So how do I go about getting there? You do not have to know those steps today as far as how you're going to get there, but you have to know where you're truly going. So step number 1 is forgiveness. What?

Speaker 2:

What do you mean forgiveness? How is this a step to success? Well, you can't climb Mount Ephraim and take all your shit with you. That's what I mean by that. So first and foremost, you need to forgive yourself.

Speaker 2:

Do not overthink things, do not overanalyze, don't think about what you could have done differently. I have to practice this daily. So I am the biggest advocate for this because I can overthink, I can overanalyze. Obviously, females are very capable of doing this as everyone knows, but you've got to forgive yourself and others. You cannot hold resentment towards the past.

Speaker 2:

You cannot take your past with you. So first and foremost, forgiveness is key to your success in your future. So let all that go today, if you can. Okay? That is going to be a load off your shoulders.

Speaker 2:

I know it's easier said than done, but just decide. If you have to write a letter to someone nasty and say all the things you truly wanna say and burn it, go for it. If you can just let it go and decide that the day is going to be the day that we no longer take our past with us. Whatever it takes, forgive yourself, forgive others, and let it go. Just let that shit go.

Speaker 2:

You cannot take this weight with you any longer. It is like carrying luggage around the airport when you are late running to your gate. So let it go. Move forward. Forget about it, and do everything you can to just forgive yourself and not take it with you.

Speaker 2:

Alright. Next, we've gotta know where we're going. What are we doing here? Well, you gotta dream big. So have a limitless belief lid.

Speaker 2:

Do not think small in this step. Think as big as possible. You don't have to know how you're going to achieve it. We'll address that soon. You do not have to know the steps that you're gonna take to get there.

Speaker 2:

You don't need to know all the things. You don't have to have it figured out. That's what I'm saying. So imagine it. Draw it out.

Speaker 2:

If you have to do it with a whiteboard, if you need to put it in your notes, if you need post it notes on your mirror, whatever it may be for you, dream it. Make it big. Make it massive. Your goals need to scare you. Okay?

Speaker 2:

They need to scare you to push you to your fullest potential. So imagination is everything. You've gotta have, like I said, that limitless belief lid. So in order to imagine it, you have to conceive in thought, imagine in mind, creating the mental picture, foolish motion, and empty fancy is the definition of imagination. So think big.

Speaker 2:

Don't be afraid, in any capacity. Put your creative power to work and clearly imagine what you really desire. That is step 2. That also takes us to step 3, which is the desire. Why are you doing this?

Speaker 2:

Why do you want this so bad? This needs to be written down, in my opinion. I write down, these steps every day and journal against it in addition to my gratitude journal. So why are you doing this? You have to remind yourself daily.

Speaker 2:

There are going to be days that you want to quit. They are going to come up often, sometimes like Groundhog Day. What did I do? Why did I leave my job? What in the hell am I doing?

Speaker 2:

This is so hard. Yes. It is. That is why it's called the 1% club. So if you're going to be like the people you mentor under, if you're going to be like the people you see having what you want, you have got to have desire, dedication.

Speaker 2:

You have to be committed. So today, get committed. Because as you write this down, you have to truly define why you're in it, and you're gonna have to reference this over and over and over again in the future. So this step needs to be outlined vividly to your imagination, and you need to move forward with this every day. So that's what we're doing.

Speaker 2:

K? We have let go of the past. We're thinking big. Our desire and commitment is in play, and then we move on to actualization. Step number 4, actualization.

Speaker 2:

You've got to vividly picture what this looks like. Vividly think about you having it. Vividly know in your soul. Okay. I have it.

Speaker 2:

Now what does it look like? And write that down. Map that out for yourself. This looks like x amount of my bank account. This looks like x amount of clients.

Speaker 2:

This looks like x amount of days working. This looks like what these days look like when you are working, how productive you are, what you're doing on the daily that feeds your soul and works you towards your commitment. Okay? You wanna be as vivid in your writing on this step. You want to picture this and know that this is possible.

Speaker 2:

You wanna make this real. You want to make the realization into action. You wanna make this realistic and exert energy towards this. So get dirty, break it down, draw it out, get as wild as you want to, and this will all be yours. So you are writing your future.

Speaker 2:

But write this in the present tense that you already have this. So when you're mapping this down, you don't have to say, I'm grateful for the $30,000 in my bank account. You can just be as basic as I am so grateful that money flows to me. I'm grateful for my yacht. I'm grateful You just have to actualize it in your mind and vividly think about this picture.

Speaker 2:

Okay? And then that brings us on to the spirituality piece. Whatever it is you believe in, Okay? It does not matter. It doesn't matter your democratic belief, your religious belief.

Speaker 2:

You just have to believe truly that this is possible for you. Again, you do not know how you're going to get there. You don't do not need to know that. You do not need to know the steps you're gonna take. You don't have to worry about how it's gonna happen, but you have to believe it's possible.

Speaker 2:

You have to know that you're not living to your fullest potential today and that your fullest potential is ahead of you, and you're ready to step into that. So we've got to have our forgiveness. We have to have our imagination. We have to have our desire. We have to have our actualization, the picture out there, and then we have to know that it is possible.

Speaker 2:

And regardless of your beliefs, that's the universe is going to make this happen for you. So the more you believe, the quicker this will happen. The stronger you believe this will happen. So in order to believe strongly, you have to have your picture. You have to have your where are you going?

Speaker 2:

You don't need the road map. You just need to know the outcome of what you desire to do. And then we have to have patience. Patience is key here. We have to not want this yesterday.

Speaker 2:

I always want this yesterday. I want things to happen on a timeline, and anyone that knows me knows this about me. And it's because I know it's possible. So let's go. Right?

Speaker 2:

Let's do this. Everything has to be 10 x in my world, and I have mentors that make me not only believe, but truly know it's all possible. And I'm just super excited and eager to get there. So that is where I'm working on the 10 x level. You don't have to.

Speaker 2:

One step at a time is all it takes. One small accomplishment, one after the other after the other after the other and boom, or you know it, you will have it. But because boom, before you know it, you will have it, you've gotta think big because you can't accomplish that and then be like, what's next? So we've got to know what's next already and think of that bigger picture. Alright?

Speaker 2:

And lastly, you have to have the drive and dedication. So when you think about that desire, you've gotta be committed. You have to have the drive to not quit. You have to know you can't quit. You can take a break, sure, but it looks like 5 minutes.

Speaker 2:

You've got to pull it back together, wrangle it back in, and get back after it. The dedication to this has to be there. Okay? We cannot wallow in self pity. We can't worry about the failures.

Speaker 2:

You're going to fail. You're going to have setbacks. It's reality. It's not a good time. I think about, kettlebells.

Speaker 2:

Getting that kettlebell up and swinging that high is effort. And then bam, right down back into it, it goes. So you're going to have these ebb and flows. You're going to have setbacks, but you fail forward. Everything that happens happens for you, not to you, and you have to just keep going.

Speaker 2:

So learn from every challenge. Learn from every happening that comes your way, and then learn how to either not do that again, learn how to avoid that in the future, learn how to handle that. Everything happens for you. It's an experience that is being brought to you for a reason, and you have to learn from it. So what I recommend in this step is I had to learn all these things the hard way.

Speaker 2:

20 years in business, starting a business without the Internet, think about that for a second. We did not have the means that are out there today. So use your free resources, grab a few mentors, follow some people on social media. My favorite people on social media, Grant Cardone, Brandon Dawson, Natalie Dawson, Garrett j White, Jay Shetty. You've got to have variances.

Speaker 2:

You will find ultimately people you like and don't like. There are some phenomenal mentors out there. Sean Whalen, Lions Not Sheep. Look into his story. You can check out Ed Mylett, Andy Friscilla.

Speaker 2:

They have an excellent group together, Andy and Ed, called Arete Syndicate. Check out Arete. Maybe that's your jam. These are affordable monthly mentoring programs that you can join and just be in a room with the right people. Network around the right people.

Speaker 2:

Surround yourself with people that are going to bring you up and support you and not pull you back, hold you back, or not want to support you in your success. Lot of people don't like how growth looks on people. A lot of people doing the same thing and not moving don't want you to move. They don't want you to go on without them. They don't want you to succeed and grow.

Speaker 2:

And this is the biggest thing that I learned in the last decade and really in the last few years is you've gotta have the right support system, get in the right room. Garrett j White has a coaching program. It's for men, but I love his words. I love his delivery. I cannot join his group as a female, so I just follow him on Instagram.

Speaker 2:

I am part of the 10 x community. This community has changed my life. I was just asked last night, what has this done for you fiscally and professionally? And I said, fuck that. What this has done for me personally is going to affect my financial situation.

Speaker 2:

It's going to affect my Personally, I have probably grown 85% as a human being the last 2 years just being part of the 10 x community. There's free resources. There's free boot camps. There's paid boot camps. The 10 x boot camp for $499, I have taken 5 times in the last 2 years because it's affordable.

Speaker 2:

It's current data. It's current knowledge. It's things these people have done the work for us to tell us what it takes to catapult your business. So if these people have done it for us, why would I not listen to them and what's working and not working, and then go follow suit there versus have an ego and try to learn the hard way? That is not the way to go.

Speaker 2:

So learn from those that have success. Learn from those that you're in alignment with our morals and values, and follow them. Learn from them. Do not be an asshole. Do not ask what it takes and they tell you, and then you don't go do it.

Speaker 2:

That is not the way to success. That is only going to hold yourself back, which sounds ridiculous. Right? Why would you wanna do that? So surround yourself with people.

Speaker 2:

There are free resources out there on YouTube, even on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, all these resources I never had growing up. I wish I did. The fact that children and kids and teens have the ability to tap into these free resources and become anything they want is unbelievable. You don't need college for this. Okay?

Speaker 2:

These are fundamentals to success for anyone who has it in them to want to be better. So if you forgive yourself, imagine the biggest picture, have the desire, outline what that looks like, actually picture what this is, Map it out. Draw it out. Believe, spiritually, this is possible. Okay?

Speaker 2:

You've got to believe that this is something you can accomplish and you will accomplish. And then you have to have patience for it to happen. It's not going to happen overnight. Fleetwood Mac was a band 10 years before they made it big. You cannot quit.

Speaker 2:

You have to have the drive and dedication to do so, and then most importantly, put yourself in the right space. Put yourself in the right room with people that are gonna support you, that are going to help you grow, that are going to connect you to the right people with your needs. If you know you want a course and you don't know how to develop it, you're going to need a co a course mentor. You're going to need the fundamentals of how do I get a landing page going? What are click funnels?

Speaker 2:

What about my checkout process? What about my add ons? Surround yourself with people that have done this. Ask them questions, learn from them. Any successful entrepreneur is willing to take on someone who needs a mentor, and anyone who has questions.

Speaker 2:

So you can ask questions. Do not ask someone, may I have 5 minutes of your time? May I ask you a question about designing a landing page? And boom, you will get the answer. So do not waste their time with a question with a question.

Speaker 2:

Just ask them a blatant question. They will give you a few minutes and guide you and give you some resources that will help you get to where you're trying to go. So, again, 7 steps. The fundamentals to success are forgiveness, imagination, desire, actualization, spirituality, patience, drive, and dedication. And lastly, I recommend a gratitude journal every day.

Speaker 2:

Write in present tense, future tense as if you already have it. I am grateful for my great health. I am grateful money flows to me. I am grateful for my 6 new clients. When you are exact and defined like that and writing it down every day, some people do it in the morning and at night, This will help you get to where you're trying to go in lightning speed compared to trying to do it without these steps in place.

Speaker 2:

So these are my 7 steps to success. This is what I operate off of daily. Do what you will with it. It's okay if you don't agree. It's okay that you want to tweak it a little bit to add an 8th step, maybe to take out one of the steps, but these are my steps to success that I get asked daily.

Speaker 2:

How do you do it? How do we get there? And, again, you don't need to know how to get there. You don't need the road map right now. What you need is to outline your desires and outcome, and you will get there.

Speaker 2:

I promise you. Any additional questions, shoot me a DM on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, and we will see you on the other side.
