Exploring how humans connect and get stuff done together, with Dan Hammond and Pia Lee from Squadify.
We need groups of humans to help navigate the world of opportunities and challenges, but we don't always work together effectively. This podcast tackles questions such as "What makes a rockstar team?" "How can we work from anywhere?" "What part does connection play in today's world?"
You'll also hear the thoughts and views of those who are running and leading teams across the world.
[00:00:00] Dan: Okay, we're rolling.
[00:00:04] Pia: Okay, ready? Take qualm. Welcome to a brand new podcast. We not me all about how humans connect and get stuff done together.
[00:00:17] Dan: I'm Dan. And that was peer. Peer is a proper team whisperer. The CEO of SquadCast. She taught children and then wanted to find out what they did when they grew up. So it became a leadership consultant. She's a Maddie to three kids. More of that later. She's an amateur photographer and a taxon enthusiast.
[00:00:34] Pia: well, and this is Dan. Dan tried to be an engineer, but eventually found analytical and people focused joy in product management. He does that for squatter five as chief product officer, he's a husband, a dad, and a jazz.
[00:00:51] Dan: And we've been friends and colleagues for over a decade. We've traveled the world from the shores of Tanzania to the flaws of Silicon valley. And we've seen firsthand how teams work and how they don't. Haven't we? Yeah.
[00:01:02] Pia: So true, but why do we need to talk about teams now?
[00:01:07] Dan: Well, you know, the world has loads of opportunities, but it has challenges too. And we can't do it alone. We need groups of humans to crack it. The only problem is that these teams don't work so well. We'll be talking about everything that will help humankind to do things together.
[00:01:22] Pia: What else would be looking at what makes a rockstar team, how to work from anywhere? What part does connection play in today's world and hearing the thoughts and views of those who are running and leading teams across the world. It's all about seeing the world and what we do through we not just.
[00:01:39] Dan: Yes, indeed. You can hear the we, not me podcast, wherever you get your other podcasts or you can visit dot net.
[00:01:47] Pia: really look forward to seeing you there.

[00:01:54] Pia: take one.
[00:01:55] Dan: Um,
[00:01:57] Pia: Um,
[00:01:57] Dan: and I think different first, take two.
[00:01:59] Pia: yeah, it's just the ending,
[00:02:02] Dan: Is it me being a bit rubbish about the way you get your podcasts bit.
[00:02:06] Pia: No, It's not that, cause it just that I feel like that is we look forward to seeing you there.
[00:02:20] Um, we could say it together, but that probably won't sound very good.
[00:02:26] Dan: It's good night for me and it's good night for me. Um, um,
[00:02:34] I mean, in a way,
[00:02:38] yeah, I mean, it might be that mark we'll cut that out. You know, who just say bright, you just in telling them where to go. So why don't we do it? And if necessary, we can sort of add something. I think it's, I think it's okay to you've started it. You can finish it. Let's see what mark thinks.
[00:02:54] Pia: Yeah.
[00:02:55] Dan: Mark. We want to know what you think.
[00:02:57] Pia: Yeah, We'll just stop it. You can edit that bit out if you want or
[00:03:00] Dan: Yeah, that's right. All of this. So should we go again? Um, do you want to be any different tone or just do similar, similar
[00:03:07] Pia: I think just try it again and see what, and then Yeah.
[00:03:11] And then unless you think there's something that we should,
[00:03:13] Dan: No, no. Um, what we could do here is just be even more sort of chatty between us. Maybe he can always cut it out, but we just try a slightly more chatty tone that will try to invert it. Try to get into the real, to the actual podcast, but not, not too much, but just a bit more chatting.
[00:03:29] Pia: I'm Not going to talk about doctor's
[00:03:30] Dan: look, we don't want to hear that.
[00:03:32] No,
[00:03:32] Pia: Nothing.
[00:03:33] Dan: Um, maybe that will be a subject of an episode though. Um, and honestly we should get into that. Okay. Just for Mark's benefit. Let's let's do some more let's record the second take
[00:03:44] Pia: Yes,
[00:03:44] Dan: have a quick check to see where we are on time. Does it say I know it doesn't um, okay. Brilliant.
