Liv:

I'm Liv, and welcome to Agriculture in a Minute with the Minnesota four H Agriculture Ambassadors. Pour yourself a delicious glass of milk and sit back while we spill the milk on dairy nutrition. An average American consumes over 600 pounds of dairy products a year. These products are not only delicious but also nutritious. Dairy provides 13 essential nutrients that include potassium, vitamin A, phosphorus, and more.

Liv:

Do you know what the leading source of calcium in a diet is? It's dairy. Calcium improves bone density, which is important for youth and adults. By consuming three servings of dairy a day, you receive all nine amino acids, multiple vitamins, and other nutrients. Additionally, dairy farming is becoming more sustainable as farmers care a lot about the environment.

Liv:

Today, producing a gallon of milk uses 90% less land and 65% less water than it did in 1944. Remember, three a day keeps the weak bones away. Thanks for listening to Agriculture in a Minute. Till next time, keep growing your knowledge. This is Liv with the Minnesota four H Agriculture Ambassadors.
