Shalom and welcome dear friends,
Today, we delve into a profound piece of wisdom from the Torah that you can apply to your everyday life. Let's look at the book of Exodus, chapter 19, verse 5. It reads, "If you will listen diligently to My voice, and you will keep My covenant, you will be to Me a treasure out of all peoples, for Mine is the entire earth."
Now, let's unpack this. The Almighty is not just giving us a commandment, but offering a proposition, a contract of sorts. If we take the time to listen, to really hear His voice, and if we keep His covenant, we become a treasured people.
In our daily lives, we too can apply this wisdom. When we truly listen to those around us, when we uphold our commitments, we become a treasure to those in our lives. We must remember that listening is not merely hearing. It requires attention, understanding, and reflection.
Likewise, keeping a covenant, or upholding our commitments, is not just about fulfilling an obligation. It's about integrity, about being reliable, about being someone others can trust.
In essence, this verse from Exodus teaches us the importance of active listening and commitment in our daily interactions.
Let's reflect on this today and every day. How can we become better listeners? How can we uphold our commitments more fully? And in doing so, not only do we become treasured to those around us, but we also honor the Divine spark within us.
