@paulthenutritionist:

Welcome to no forking nonsense. The podcast that slices through the nonsense and serves you straight talking nutrition advice that actually works. I'm Paul, a registered nutritionist and your host. And every episode, I'll be debunking diet myths, breaking down confusing food advice and giving you practical science backed tips to help you eat better, feel better and get your edge back. There'll be no fads, no shite, just real talk that makes sense.

@paulthenutritionist:

Let's get stuck in. So I want to start with something I see every single week. People who are training really hard, people who are active, people who really care about their health and yet their weight doesn't move, their energy just dips off randomly usually at about 11:00 or 03:00 and food still feels like really hard work. What's frustrating is that they're not doing anything obviously wrong. So today I want to talk about why mostly right so often leads to no results.

@paulthenutritionist:

The biggest issue I see isn't bad food choices, it's inconsistency that looks like consistency. So good weekdays, messy weekends, under fuelling then overcot correcting, training hard, recovering poorly. From the outside all looks fine, but inside your body is just kicking off. And that's why effort doesn't always mean consistent progress. And let's be honest, most people already know enough about nutrition.

@paulthenutritionist:

They don't need another list of good foods to eat right now and they certainly don't need another calorie calculator. You could probably use AI to get most of the results that you need. What you need is structure that survives the busiest periods of your life, decisions made before the stress hits, and a system that removes this constant thinking about food what, how and why to eat. This is why motivation doesn't work long term, motivation always runs out. That's why new year, new you, the goals that you set on the first of Jan, they're already starting to peter off.

@paulthenutritionist:

Structure doesn't peter off. This is exactly what I hear from my clients before I work with them. My weight keeps stalling even though I'm active. I feel like I'm always starting again. I don't trust myself around food.

@paulthenutritionist:

I'm exhausted thinking about it all the time. And then a few months later the language changes. I feel in control. I understand what to do when life gets busy. I no longer panic around food anymore.

@paulthenutritionist:

And the thing I hear most more than anything else is I actually like what I see in the mirror now. That shift isn't directly from discipline, it comes from clarity and knowing how to handle your life. The people who succeed long term all have three things in common. Firstly, they have predictable eating patterns. Secondly, food decisions are made well in advance of whatever's going on in your life, including if you've got a wedding this weekend, if it's your four year old's birthday this weekend, we've already made the decisions.

@paulthenutritionist:

And the third thing is that they get a clear response when things go off plan. We've just had Christmas. Every single one of my clients made a successive Christmas. No one ended up with this fuck it mindset and it went to shit. Not one single person.

@paulthenutritionist:

I met with a client of mine last week and she said to me a year ago she had a complete fuck it mindset and 8.3 Camembert. She said I can't even believe that that person existed when I think of how far I've come now. There's no guilt, there's no spirals and there's certainly no I've ruined it mindset, they just know how to adjust and not quit. So I want to introduce a framework that I now use with all of my coaching clients. We stabilise first and then we progress and then we lock it in, so it's repetitive.

@paulthenutritionist:

That's where the name Eat, Achieve, Repeat comes from. It's not this big body transformation, work with me for this amount of time and you're going to go from being one hundred and twenty kilograms driving six back abs and being on stage. I'm not fucking interested in that and I know you're not either. And if you are, you shouldn't be listening to this podcast. Because this isn't a challenge, it's not a short term push and then we look back and once we've got to the end you eat all your donuts because you haven't been eating donuts for twelve weeks.

@paulthenutritionist:

This is about building a way of eating that keeps working when your life isn't perfect because guess what? Life isn't perfect and shit happens. I have a client who I've been working with now for eighteen months and because I've been working with him for so long and he has lost 35 kilograms since being with me and he came to me lost, overweight, low energy, snappy, falling asleep multiple times throughout the day, having gone on every diet possible, trying to sort his life so he felt healthier, just completely lost. Now he has loads of energy, he's off 35 kilograms, he runs around after his kids, he's got a better relationship with his partner, his work is as focused as it ever has been, but here's the thing, work is really stressful. Every three to four months, he has huge stressful deadlines that cause him through absolutely no control that he has, he has to work a stupid amount of hours.

@paulthenutritionist:

What that means is that we have to take into account that life isn't going to be perfect around them, his food isn't going to be perfect around them. So what do I do? Do reduce all of his calories? Do I say you've got to somehow work out how you're going to go to the gym and how you're going to make your protein shake and eat chicken, kale and broccoli even though you're in the office, no. What we do is we actually give him more food.

@paulthenutritionist:

We give him more food because the priority in those moments is to make sure that he is fuelled enough to get through those stressful days and because we've been working together for so long, we know that's coming. We know that's coming and I could show you the data across the last eighteen months we've been working together and I could say that's where it was, that's where it was, that's where it was, because what happens is his weight usually either plateaus or it goes up a little bit. But are we bothered about it? Absolutely not. Why?

@paulthenutritionist:

Because we are so consistent with what we do that we know it's going to come down once he's fully recovered. And that is about building a way of eating that keeps working when life is not perfect. My approach is especially powerful if you are someone who is active but heavier than you should be. Perhaps you train hard but you feel under recovered. Maybe you've even tried plums before but they just didn't seem to stick.

@paulthenutritionist:

Or you want fat loss without wrecking energy, wrecking the enjoyment of your life and cutting all of the things out that you enjoy. Most importantly it's for people who are not trying to get a quick fix, and if you are someone who s trying to get a quick fix, I will talk you out of it, and I talk you out of it because I could show every single human being who is listening to this right now how to lose 10 kilograms in the next week. When I've worked with athletes before who had to make weight, I've done that before and I can absolutely do it with you, but I'm telling you now, A) it's very miserable, B) it's not sustainable, C) it will be completely irrelevant in six months time and that is not what I'm about. So if anything I have said in the past eight minutes has resonated with you, if you have ever looked in the mirror in the past six months and thought I'm not happy with what I see here, If you've caught yourself at 11:00, at 12:00, at 03:00, at 05:00, thinking I am absolutely knackered, I can't even move off this sofa.

@paulthenutritionist:

If you have caught yourself thinking to yourself I just wish I had more energy. If you look in the mirror and think well as you get older it gets harder, I can tell you it doesn't get harder. If you're confused about food, you think it's too late, if you're someone who feels like you want to perform better, if your mood's impacted because you're always ratty because your sleep is shit and it's on the floor, and you wake up after having a full night's sleep and you are still knackered, then you need me. And the next action's simple: book a call. Book a call, take action, do something, make 2026 the best year of your life like it is mine and will be for all of my clients.

@paulthenutritionist:

We'll talk through what's actually going on, whether this framework and me is appropriate for you and whether actually working together makes sense. If you want a registered nutritionist in your back pocket twenty four hours a day, if you want someone who has bags of experience, having dealt with every single nutrition ailment you can think of, every body type, every age, every possible scenario you can think of and has got results with all of them, then book a call. If you're someone who wants that accountability, you want someone in your corner to guarantee you results, then book a call. If you're someone who's had enough, this is it. You have had enough with where you are currently at with your life.

@paulthenutritionist:

You are sick of being in the same position that you've been in for the past year, two years, six months, hell even three months, then book a call, take action. This quite literally could be the one thing that changes your life. I could list for you now a number of messages and conversations I've had with clients who have said you have changed my life and the best part is it wasn't hard. It wasn't hard for them because I guided them properly. I'm going to be honest, it is just me.

@paulthenutritionist:

There isn't a team of people, it is literally just me and as a result, you get really personable coaching. You get my WhatsApp number so you can contact me, there is nobody else. But the other fallout of that is that my clients never leave, so I always have limited numbers. And if you want to take a spot in 2026 to have the best year of your life, take action. There's a link under this podcast episode.

@paulthenutritionist:

I urge you to take action and I'll hopefully speak to you soon. That's it for this episode of No Forking Nonsense, where the fluff gets binned and the facts get served. If you found this helpful, share it with someone who could do some clarity from an expert. That's me And make sure you hit follow so you don't miss what's coming next.
