Welcome to episode 165 of "Stuff I Never Knew," where host Jeff Revilla takes us on another thrilling ride of trivia fun with contestants Samantha, Jennifer, and Karen. This episode is broadcast on the Armstrong Neighborhood Channel and promises to be an exciting matchup of knowledge and quick thinking. Each contestant brings unique backgrounds and expertise, making for an intriguing game show. Samantha, an author, and speaker from Dallas, Jennifer, a CEO of Coje Consultants based in Chicago, and Karen, an author and doctoral student from Oakland, New Jersey, battle it out over three rounds for the ultimate trivia champion title.

In Round 1, contestants face the challenge of differentiating between titles of MTV shows and Goosebumps books. Samantha starts off on a rocky note by incorrectly guessing "Scream School" as an MTV show, but later redeems herself by correctly identifying "You can't scare me" as Goosebumps. Jennifer initially guesses wrong but quickly recovers by correctly identifying multiple Goosebumps titles like "Fright Camp" and "Calling all creeps." Karen showcases her keen eye by correctly guessing "Brain Juice" and "Legend of lost legend" as Goosebumps, but like her counterparts, she also has a misstep with "The beast from the east." By the end of this round, Karen and Jennifer lead with two points each, while Samantha trails with one point.

In Round 2, the contestants continue their trivia adventure with Jennifer kicking off the "Tribons Game." Jennifer smoothly connects "Truffle, Morel, Sep" as mushrooms and correctly identifies "Chocolate rice, Tapioca" as puddings and "Slip joint, Locking grip, Needle nose" as pliers. The "Name Five Challenge" mixes up the tempo as Jennifer names four out of five fall foods and drinks before the clock runs out. Karen shines through this round by successfully identifying several trivia questions related to historical events, board games, and geography. Notably, she accurately names five types of fall clothing. The competition intensifies with Samantha giving strong performances by correctly identifying various subjects, including answering a gaming segment by determining things that are "laid."

Finally, the buzzer-based final round brings heightened tension as the contestants race to answer questions for extra points. Samantha, Jennifer, and Karen bring their creativity with fun buzzers. With fast-paced engagement, Karen manages to pull ahead with correct identifications like "Monopoly" as the game published in 1935 and "Philadelphia" from a location-based question. Jennifer catches up by correctly identifying "Volga River" and "Roger Federer," while Samantha notably adds to her score with strong answers despite starting with a penalty for earlier incorrect guesses in the game. The final scoreboard reflects Karen as the trivia champion with 13 points, followed closely by Jennifer and Samantha.

Overall, episode 165 of "Stuff I Never Knew" offers an exhilarating mix of trivia categories and showcases the distinctive knowledge of each contestant. Karen takes home the victory and uses the platform to promote her upcoming book, "Dying for a Massage," scheduled for release in early December. Jennifer's expertise in business and software consulting shines through, and Samantha's heartfelt journey and book on dealing with betrayal trauma add depth to the episode. As always, host Jeff Revilla keeps the energy high and the competition fair, bringing another engaging episode to trivia enthusiasts everywhere. Hey, everybody. Welcome to the Stuff I Never knew trivia game show podcast. I'm Jeff.

I'm your host. We are on the Armstrong neighborhood channel tonight.

I've got three great guests joining me. Samantha,

Jennifer, and Karen. Let's hear that theme music.

That is correct. You are correct. You are wrong. You are wrong. You

are wrong. You are right. That is correct. That is correct.

And as you know, on this show, we get right into it and

we have a great game planned for you tonight. For round one,

we're playing MTV show or a title

from a Goosebumps book series. So is it a show that aired

on MTV or a title of a Goosebumps? It's a

50, 50 guess. So if you ever read Goosebumps or watched

MTV and we're going to start with Samantha tonight.

Scream school. Is Scream school a Goosebumps

book or an MTV show? An MTV

show. MTV is

incorrect. It's Goosebumps. Goosebumps.

Over to Jennifer, Silent

library. Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is

incorrect. That's an MTV show. Add

to Karen. Brain juice. Is Brain

juice an MTV show or a Goosebumps? Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is correct.

Correct. First point of the night, back to

Samantha. You can't scare me. Is

that MTV or Goosebumps? Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is

correct. Correct. Point for Samantha. And

to Jennifer, Fright camp. Is Fright

camp an MTV show or a Goosebumps

book? Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is correct.

Correct. Everybody with points. And to

Karen, Legend of lost legend.

Goosebumps. Goosebumps

is correct. Correct. Two for two for

Karen. And back to Samantha,

Headbangers ball. Is that Goosebumps or

mtv? That would be Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is incorrect.

MTV show. And to Jennifer,

calling all creeps. Goosebumps.

Goosebumps is correct. Thought that might be

a dating show on mtv. And the

last one to Karen, the beast from the

east.

Mtv. MTV is

incorrect. Let's go to that scoreboard. It

looks like Samantha has a odd score from our

other two guests. Jennifer and Karen with two, Samantha with one.

That gives Samantha a little bonus going into round

two. Samantha, you get to pick the order. Do you

want to go first or mix it up? Let's mix it

up. All right, who do you want to go first?

You choose. We can get Jennifer or

Karen. Let's go. Jennifer, Karen, and then

myself. All right, that's gonna put Jennifer in the

hot seat. Jennifer, welcome to the show.

Thank you for having me. Tell us where you're calling in

from. So I'm in Chicago, right now, but I actually live

in Florida. Florida. And I also heard maybe you're from the

western Pennsylvania area. A lot of people watching locally

are from. Are in western Pennsylvania. I

actually lived in Pittsburgh for a while, so I lived in

Monroeville. Very nice. Very nice. And tell us, what do you do out

in Chicago now? So I own a company called Koji

Consultants, and we do business plan creation, review, technology

strategy, and AI of CRM.

Customization optimization, software

design implementation and technology strategy.

Oh, very nice. And if people wanted to connect with you, do you consult all

over the world or all over the United States?

And how can people connect with you? So you can connect with

me via phone or you can come to my website

at Koji Consultants. C O J E C O N

S U L T a n t s dot com. Or you can

give me a call at

850-312-0027.

Very nice. Jennifer, I have one more question

for you. Are you

ready for the hot seat? I guess.

All right, here we go. So in this round, we're gonna do

tribons. And for each of my guests that haven't played tribons, I'm

going to give you three words that are associated somehow. So, for

example, if I were to say elephant,

tree and car. Those three

things all have a trunk. Trunk. Trunk is correct.

So that's the example one. Let's see if they stay that easy. And then after

you do your three questions, we'll do a name five bonus, and I'll give

you a category. You have to put five things into that category.

Let's start with your first try. Bond, Jennifer. Okay.

Truffle. Morel. Sep.

Mushroom. Mushrooms is

correct. Types of mushrooms. Very well played.

Your second one. Chocolate

rice. Tapioca

pudding. Pudding is

correct. Those are types of puddings. And

your last one. Slip joint.

Locking grip. Needle nose.

No. Googling. Pliers. Pliers

is correct. Correct.

I knew what a needle nose was. That was it. Sure. All right, so

your name five bonus questions. I'm gonna put 10 seconds on the clock. I'll

start it once I read the catego. You have to put five

things into this category.

Jennifer, Name five foods or drinks that

are popular in the fall. And go.

Pumpkin. Frappuccino. Apple Frappuccino.

Hot chocolate. Apple cider. Hot

apple cider. I got four, four for you before the buzzer went

off. Very well played. That's hard. When you hear that timer start, you're sitting in

the hot seat. It's very difficult. Very well played. In the second

round, let's move over to Karen. Karen, welcome to the

show. Hello. Where are you calling in from?

I'm sorry, I'm calling from Oakland, New Jersey, just outside

of Philadelphia, Penn. Oh, very nice. Welcome to the

show. Tell us about what you do out in Philadelphia.

So I am a doctoral student working on my

DBA in organizational leadership. I have my MBA in

marketing and I have my fourth novel coming out

early December, massage mysteries called

dying for a massage. Oh, very nice. And can are that. Is that

available anywhere or directly from you? It will be available

first on Amazon and then be wide after the first

90 days. Oh, very nice. And is there a direct way if

people want to connect with you or follow along on your journey?

So of course on all social media, Karen Schober or

Karen Schober, author. Plus my website,

Karen Schober.com. Very nice.

Karen. Are you ready

for the hot seat? Darn

straight. Well, here we go. We got three tribons for

you and then a name five bonus question.

Your first one, Astro,

Pluto, Lassie. What ties those

three things together? TV dogs.

TV dogs even more specific is correct. I would

accepted just dogs, but TV dogs is great. Your

second one, Inky,

pinky, blinky.

The ghosts from pac man. The ghosts from pac

man is correct. Correct. Very well

played. Your third one, a joke,

a safe and a whip.

Things you crack. Things you crack.

Is correct. Things that are cracked is correct.

Three for three. Very well played.

Karen, your name five bonus question.

Name five types of clothing you might wear in the fall.

And go sweater, sweatpants,

socks, scarf, hat, gloves,

jacket.

You gave me seven. I can only take five. You ran the

board. Five for five. Very well played, Karen.

Let's go over to Samantha. Samantha,

welcome to the show. Look like a little bit of nerves there.

Yeah. Well, we're so glad to have you here. Where are you

calling in from? I'm calling from Dallas. Dallas, Very

nice. And what's happening down in Dallas? Tell us about what you do. Oh,

I am an author and a speaker

and my book is about

my journey and discovering

when my husband had a secret life with sugar

babies, escorts and prostitutes

and having illicit affairs. And the book

shares my journey, not only the dark times, but how

I came through it. And I'm now on the other

side and I want to share for healing.

Very nice. And how can people find the book? How can they reach out to

you and connect? Yeah, they can go to www.

Help the number4betrayal

trauma.com help4betrayal

trauma.com if they click on pre order

and they scroll down and put their name and Email address in

they can be. They'll be the first ones to know when the book is

available for pre order before it hits the shelves. Very

nice. Do you have an estimated release date? We're targeting

Christmas. All right, very nice. We'll put that

in all my guest links in the show notes. So make sure you support

them and check out their websites and social media. And

Samantha, are you whoop

or Samantha, are you

ready for the hot seat? No. Well,

I got news for you, Samantha. The show's moving on. So here we

go. Your first one. Easter

picnic. Waste

eggs. Eggs

is incorrect. With baskets. Picnic baskets.

Easter baskets. Waste baskets. Oh, man. People waste

eggs. They. That's true. If you can make a case, the producer will

give you in a point. But I think, I think you can only claim two

of the three. He's giving me the thumbs down. Good try though. We,

we do love a good argument on this show. All right, our next

one. Oh, are we stuck in with egg? I thought we were

still on the eggs, bricks and

carpet. What ties together

eggs? Bricks.

I don't know why chicken comes to head, but that has nothing to do with

carpet and bricks. So chickens can lay

bricks. They can lay carpets. They can lay eggs

on carpets and bricks. So my answer is

chickens. Oh, well,

the producer is going to give me a weird. I think

he's saying yes, you said all the right words. They are things that are

laid. Laid is correct. We'll give you the point for that one. You were right

there. A lot of times that's just nerves given that answer. But you

did say, you say all them could be laid. So here we go. Our

last one. Epic.

Virgin Island.

Caribbean. Caribbean is

incorrect. These are, these were record store names.

Island Records, Virgin Records. Epic Records. That was, that was

a little bit of a throwback to the 90s. Here we go.

Now, Samantha, your five point bonus

question. I'm going to give you the category name five

outdoor activities you can enjoy during this great

fall weather. And go

running.

Racquetball, pickleball,

jogging, not swimming. It's too cold. That's

it. I think you did gave seven. You cut out a lot. You

said I saw volleyball, racquetball, running.

Producer does confirm five. You ran the board on that one.

Five for five points. Let's take a look at that scoreboard and see how

our contestants are doing tonight. It is a very close game.

Only three points from first to third place. Karen is

leading the way right now with 10. Let's go to that

final round. And in this round, it's Going to

start off with a very vague question. Who am I? What am I?

Where am I? And I'm going to use these videos to reveal

some clues to you. Now, when you think you know it, you're going to

want to buzz in and try to get the points. Because if you buzz in

on the first clue, that's worth three points. If

you. If you buzz in on the second clue, that's worth

two points. And the last clue is worth one point. When you buzz

in and you're right, you're going to earn those points. But when you're

wrong, we're going to subtract those points. There's no

penalty. You can buzz in as many times as you want. You're not

locked out. So if you want to try to guess twice, you're

more than welcome to do that. And I've asked each of my

guests to bring their own buzzers. This is a favorite part of the show

because everybody's so creative. Let's start with Karen.

Karen, let's hear your buzzer.

You got the hotel bellhop buzzer. And to

Jennifer,

the DJ horn.

And. And to Samantha,

the old chandelier and the spatulas.

All right, so let's go to that first one. This will help you just, you

know, figure out how this round is played. And again, there's 30 points and

there's only three points separating you right now. So there's a lot of points coming

your way. Our first video question

tonight. What is it? I'm looking for a. What are you

buzzing in already? Wait, wait.

Are we testing buzzers or buzzing in? Now, before we get. Before I to

accept any of your buzzers, which I love, the enthusiasm.

I will say I will try to mislead you with the

pictures. The pictures will not always line up with

the question. So producer won't let me accept that without me telling you

that first. So let's go to the first. What? You've all been warned.

What is it? This is the first one. And you'll see on the

right side, you'll see a little timer coming down the sides. I'll tell you how

much time you have left for each clue. You can see the little timer. I

am named after the French term for Turkish due to my historical

association with Turkish decor.

Oh, Samantha, that would

be

the carpet. Carpet

is carpet.

Incorrect, Incorrect. That'll cost you three points.

Our second clue, you can see on the right. It's coming up as the timer

goes down to red. Our second

clue. I am a cushioned seat with no back

or arms often used as a footrest or extra

seating. Samantha. A

stool. A stool is

looking for the producer. Ottoman. Oh,

Ottoman is

correct. We were looking for a little more details. Ottoman is the correct

one. Ottoman. So you lost three, but

then you got back two, so it only cost you one point to the gamble.

So where am I? Where in the world

is your host, Jeffrey Villa?

I have been entertaining families for over 120

years. Samantha. Niagara

Falls. Niagara Falls is

incorrect. It's older than 120 years. Yeah.

Remember, all three clues have to match. All right, here

we go. I am a famous amusement park located

in West Mifflin near Pittsburgh.

Karen. Hershey Park. Hershey

park is

incorrect. Incorrect.

And our. I am a. I am home to a classic wooden

roller coaster like the Thunderbolt and the Jackrabbit.

Samantha. Six Flags over

Texas. Six Flags over Texas is

incorrect. We're in Pennsylvania. A town, a

park called Kennywood. Kennywood is what we're looking for.

All right, here we go. We're looking for a game. What game am

I?

I'm a popular strategy game that involves settling an

island, building cities and trading resources.

Karen. Katan.

Katan for three points is

correct. Correct. I thought somebody would fall for my

Minecraft photos, but they did it. Katan for three points. Well played,

Karen. All right, we're looking for another

game. What game am I? I hope

Karen's not a board game expert. I'm in trouble here. Let's see. I was

first published by Parker brothers in

1935.

I think Samantha went. I heard chandelier first. Producer

confirmed. Samantha. Checkers.

Checkers is

incorrect. Incorrect. Karen, you did buzz in. You have the

option. You can pass or guess.

Monopoly. Monopoly for three points

is correct. Correct.

Very well played. Karen is a board game expert. We didn't

know that going into this. And is based on

Atlantic City, New Jersey. You are very close to there.

Also. The White House hoagies in Atlantic City are my favorite. I am home to

one of the oldest and largest art museums in the

country. So where am I? We're looking for a where.

Our second clue for two points. I was the first

capital of the United States.

Karen. New York

City. New York City is

incorrect.

Karen. Philadelphia.

You're also very close to Philadelphia, which is

correct. Correct. There we go. We I

now. Sometimes you write these questions. You never know who your guests are going to

be. I did not know Karen before writing these questions.

So here we go. Who am I? Who am I?

I was the 15th president of the United States and the

only president to be born In Pennsylvania.

Our second clue. I was born

in Cove Gap, Pennsylvania and spent much of my life in

Lancaster, or as Pittsburghers say,

Lancaster.

And I served immediately before Abraham

Lincoln and was in office from 1857

to 1861.

Presidents are tough for me too. We're looking for James

Buchanan. Oh, James.

All right, we have four questions remaining. I'm looking

for a river. What river am I?

I am the largest river in Europe

by length and volume.

Oh, is that a bump? Samantha.

The same river. The saying is

incorrect. Incorrect. We'll go

to the second wait. Oh, we got

Jennifer. Danube. Danube

is also incorrect

for three points. Our second clue for

two points. I empty into the Caspian

Sea, the largest enclosed inland body

of water on earth.

Nope, that didn't help. And my last one. I

have historically been vital for trade and transportation

in Russia. Jennifer. The Volga

River. Volga river is

correct for one point.

We've got three remaining.

I'm looking for a. Who. Who am I?

Who am I? I am known for

my graceful style of play and exceptional

one handed backhand. It could

be any pro tennis player at this point.

Our second one. I am a Swiss tennis player who

has won 20 Grand Slam titles.

Karen. Boris Becker.

Boris Becker is

incorrect. Will cost you two points.

Our last clue for one

point. I have been ranked

the world number one by the ATP for a record

310 weeks.

To Jennifer Federer. Rock

comma Roger is correct.

Correct for one point. We're going

to the last two questions. We're looking for a

country. What country am I?

I was once a colony of Spain and later United States

before gaining independence.

How many countries could fall under that?

Our second clue. I am named after King Philip

II of Spain. I heard. Is that Samantha?

Samantha. Greece. Greece

is incorrect.

Incorrect. And our

last clue for one point.

Karen. Before I even read. Let me read the. Let me read the clue for

the folks at home. I am an island nation in Southeast Asia made up

of 7,000 islands. Karen says

the Philippines. The Philippines after King

Philip is correct. Very well

played. And the last one maybe my favorite.

Maybe something I had for dinner tonight. What dish

am I? It'd be amazing if I had this. But let's find out what I

could have had for dinner. I originate from the

Lazio region of Italy, particularly

Rome. I don't know if has that area ever come up with any kind

of food? I don't know. They're not known for their cuisine. Oh,

Samantha. Pizza. Pizza

is

incorrect. Our second clue. I am a

classic Italian pasta dish made with eggs, cheese,

panetta and black

pepper. And

our last clue. My sauce

is creamy but contains no cream, just eggs

and cheese. Jennifer Carbonara

Carbonera for one point is

correct. Spaghetti Carbonara is correct. Let's go to that

scoreboard. Was it enough? Karen is going to walk

away with 13 points. Our winner tonight. Congratulations,

Karen. Let's go around one more time and meet my guests and

make sure everybody at home connects. And I've got some great authors. We got some
