Part 1
Poolside feat Ben Browning – Ride With You
Kurtis Wells – Dark Imagination
stevedreez – FADE
Leopard Tuesday – Butterfly Baby
shimpai dance – Supersonic
zzzahara – Hey Familiar Face
60 juno – zzz

Facts
Poolside feat Ben Browning – Ride With You
- Interesting collab here, a lotta swing but with a pensive vibe on this, as the recording project of producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise teams with Cut Copy bassist Ben Browning and turns “Ride With You” into a co-write of new and nostalgia as island rhythms and steel drums ripple be-neath Browning’s echoing vocals.
- Look for the song to appear on Poolside’s upcoming studio album Blame It All On Love, which drops in full on Oct 28.
Kurtis Wells – Dark Imagination
- This is from an album that just dropped Friday called Walk of Fire.
- Kurtis Wells is from the US born to Trinidadian parents, now based in Berlin. Walk of Fire would be the artist’s sophomore LP.
stevedreez – FADE
- This is from an EP that dropped actually August 11 which we’ve talked about on the show previously called DIAL TONE.
- This is the solo project of Japan-born Steven Dries (note sp.), and the artist appears courtesy of Maison Kitsune.
Leopard Tuesday – Butterfly Baby
- This a duo based in Provo, UT originally from Albuquerque, NM and they had some interesting words on this standalone just out over the weekend.
- Not sure if this quote is from Megan or Matthew Mink, but it goes, “I've been playing a lot of Pokémon lately and I've been thinking about how Pikachu doesn't like to evolve. I feel that, because I've always liked who I am, but I feel like I'm finally evolving into the stage 1 version of myself like some of my friends, but I also want to stay where I am. So it's a constant battle, so the lyrics aren't clear about what to do.
shimpai dance – Supersonic
- This is a budding producer and DJ out of Tokyo that I’m not finding a lot of info on.
- As far as the moniker goes, shimpai is worry, so you’ve got a worry dance going on here, which I kind of love.
zzzahara – Hey Familiar Face
- And speaking of love, we absolutely adore Zahara Jaime, and this is their latest standalone single.
- The song is about the constant reminders of the past that pop up on one’s phone from social media, or just how you have it set, and this is from their new LP out Sept 22 called Tender, as mentioned previous-ly.
60 juno – zzz
- This final tune is a standalone single from a duo out of Atwater, CA who don’t have a ton of music out yet, but have a lot of monthly streams despite that fact. This one, just out this weekend, is their latest.

Part 2
Jason Nolan – 3 45
Mini Trees – Doomsday (Illuminati Hotties vers)
hemlocke springs – enknee1
Ratboys – I Want You (Fall 2010)
Squirrel Flower – Alley Light
Dandelion Head – Love On Your Side
Deyaz - Numb

Facts
Jason Nolan – 3 45
- This is an artist new to me who just dropped a debut album over the weekend, on which this song fea-tures. The album was made while Nolan was splitting time between the UK & NZ over the past couple of years.
- Pink Sky In The Real World is the name of the record, so go and give this new artist a shout with a front to back listen.
Mini Trees – Doomsday (Illuminati Hotties vers)
- This is a new standalone single that just dropped last Thursday, with the Illuminati Hotties covering this tune.
- Mini Trees is the solo project of Lexi Vega, who’s based in LA, and the original of this tune is from the artist’s 2021 album Always In Motion.
hemlocke springs – enknee1
- (Note spelling). This is a new single from rising indie pop artist hemlocke springs, and will feature on the artist’s forthcoming debut EP, out Sept 29.
- The mini record is called going going GONE!, so keep an eye out if you dug that.
Ratboys – I Want You (Fall 2010)
- This is from the veteran band’s latest record called The Window, which is the fifth studio album by Rat-boys, released through Topshelf Records last Thursday.
- For the album, the band decamped to Seattle to record with Chris Walla, best known for his work with Death Cab for Cutie.
Squirrel Flower – Alley Light
- For those unfamiliar, this is the solo project of American singer-songwriter Ella Williams, who hails from Boston.
- This tune will feature on the artist’s third career LP, out on October 13, titled Tomorrow’s Fire.
Dandelion Head – Love On Your Side
- This is from an album that actually came out a couple weeks ago on August 11 called Blue Dream.
- And congrats to the artist which is LA and Melbourne-based J Blynne and all others involved, as this is Dandelion Head’s debut album.
Deyaz – Numb
- This is a standalone single from Deyaz, who’s based in East Hammersmith, London and is of Syrian and Jamaican heritage.
- For Deyaz, the music mainly comes from a place of therapy, and is about self-help mainly, because the artist has no other outlet.

Part 3
Meernaa – Bhuta Kala
Orions Belte feat Louien – When You’re Gone I’ll Be Gone
The Paper Kites – Pocket Full of Rain
Puma Blue – Falling Down
Field Medic – you deserve attention
flyingfish – forest green
LOMELI – Favorite Memory

Facts
Meernaa – Bhuta Kala
- As mentioned on the show, this is a quartet headed up by Oakland-based Carly Bond.
- For anyone who heard 2019’s Heart Hunger, the anticipation of a sophomore effort from the band has been high, and Oct 6 with see the So Far So Good LP drop in full, with this being the latest teaser to the record.
Orions Belte feat Louien – When You’re Gone I’ll Be Gone
- Normally, this one of our favorite instrumental soul exports out of Norway, but this one does feature some amazing vocal contributions from Louien.
- This tune will be on the band’s upcoming LP Women, their latest album effort since making debut with 2018’s debut titled Mint.
The Paper Kites – Pocket Full of Rain
- This is from a new album out via Nettwerk titled At The Roadhouse, which just dropped on Friday.
- The band are a veteran outfit hailing from Australia, and this would be their 5th album together since de-but in 2009.
Puma Blue – Falling Down
- This is the project of Jacob Allen, who’s based in London.
- Falling Down is part of the Holy Waters LP, which just dropped in full on Friday, the artist’s fourth LP.
Field Medic – you deserve attention
- And to make it a trifecta on the new records front tonight, this is from a new album called Light Is Gone 2, which also dropped Friday.
- The album is t/n Kevin Patrick Sullivan’s 6th career album since debut almost 10 years prior in 2015.
flyingfish – forest green
- This year’s been a busy one for the shoegaze artist we don’t have a lot of info about biographically.
- Flyingfish’s debut album Isolation dropped earlier this year in May, and this would be just one of a smat-tering of standalones in the wake of release, presumably left on the cutting room floor from the album.
LOMELI – Favorite Memory
- This beauty is the latest standalone from LOMELI, who’s a producer and DJ completely independent and based in LA.
- This is the first release of the year for the artist, after releasing a trio of cuts last year, and we’d recom-mend 2021 Slow Scene Familiar LP if you wanna dig deeper.

Part 4
Ashnikko feat Ethel Cain – Dying Star
semiwestern – condo
Buck Meek – Didn’t Know You Then
Harmony – Dystopia Girl
Prince Josh – The Glory
Sun’s Signature – Apples

Facts
Ashnikko feat Ethel Cain – Dying Star
- So, we discussed North Carolina earlier and to start part 3, NC is back with Ashnikko.
- Now, this is an interesting tune not only due to the collab aspect, but it’s additionally so because while Ashnikko is listed as the main artist, this feels like an Ethel Cain track.
- The song is part of Ashnikko’s new album WEEDKILLER, available everywhere now.
semiwestern – condo
- This is a band we’ve been featuring more & more on Tuesday nights who are out of Texas and used to be called the vliets.
