You ever pulled an all nighter?

Maybe I rolled your all nighter like

till 3 or 4

and then you see.

Yeah.

And then what happens?

And then nothing happens.

How do you function now?

I function properly.

You shouldn't do all night because it's

so then again again again

when I do this it's

Are you ready guys?

Hi my name is Sophia Ditro and I am 10

years old. I'm from Louisord Grammar

School and this is my guest Shanaya.

Where do you live?

I live in India and Mumbai.

Nice. Um what school do you go to?

I go to Kaka International School.

And how old are you? I'm 9 years old.

Okay. Today we're going to be talking

about our sleep routine. So, I go for a

shower, brush my teeth, I read a book,

and I go to bed at around 9:30 p.m. What

about you?

So, I sometimes have a bath and

sometimes not. I brush my teeth. My

mother tells me stories and then I go to

bed. I go around 8:39.

Okay. Uh, do you do you like bedtime or

not? Really? Not really. What about you?

Um, I like bedtime because I have my

nice fluffy cushions around 6.

Oh,

yeah. What about you?

I don't like because you just like hot.

Yeah.

Do you like sleeping at your family's

places or friends during sleepovers?

Yeah.

Do you ever miss your bed or teddies?

No.

No.

Um, what about you? Um, so I love

sleeping at my cousin's house. I don't

miss my bed at all. Nothing. Because I

know I'm going to be there by tomorrow.

See, can you tell me a little bit about

your dreams?

So, like at night, I like dream about a

big garden with many flowers.

Oh, and why about you?

Well, I don't really dream, but I do

have some dreams. So sometimes I have

like um lots of flowers in my dreams and

how I can I have powers about I got lots

of powers in the dreams but yeah. Okay.

So um do you like sleepovers?

I love sleepovers. What about you?

I love sleepovers. Do you like all

nighter? Do you do all nighter?

All night? How about you?

Oh, I don't do all nighter because I

know it's not really good to do all

nighter because you need your rest. No,

but uh when I do is I do only sometimes.

So I wake up in the full light and play

with my friends and have like some

gossip.

Ah okay. Me too. He was ready. So what I

would like to know what happens if you

have all night sleepover those called

parties

uh grandma's parties or family parties.

What happens? You like it?

Yes.

And but you don't sleep right?

We sleep at like something 4 or 3

and then wake up at 12 or 1. So, it's

like a good 8 hours sleep. I don't

really have all nighters, but when I do,

I feel grumpy. I feel tired. I can't

wake up, but normally I sleep around

like 1000 p.m. when I have sleepovers.

And then I feel fresh as the days.

I don't because like we don't get enough

time to play and have fun.

What time did I come?

You come like 8 because then they have

to like finish their dinner and then

come. That's why 8. How come they didn't

come earlier? Because they they have

their dinner at 7:00. So like they took

1 hour to to finish everything and then

come to our house of like half an hour.

So 8.

Okay. Now what I would like to know what

happens um if you are sleepy at school?

If uh I'm sleepy at school like I just

give a excuse to my teacher that my head

is spinning and then I do head down and

I just leave.

What? That's not fair because I actually

I never feel sleepy. Sometimes I feel

fresh as a daisy or grumpy but mostly

fresh as a daisy. When I wake up, I need

to have my breakfast. Then I'm happy.

But then I So my routine is I wake up,

have my breakfast, brush my teeth, get

changed, and then I wait for my driver

to pick me up for school. So then I feel

all happy. And yeah. What about you? I

like I every day like feel very sleepy

when I get up but still my mother tells

me to go to bath so I do and then

sometimes I cry too.

I always feel energetic so I don't

really nap sometimes in the afternoon

and sometimes in the school.

I suggest not sleeping before bed like

during the evening because of you might

wake up during night time. Yeah, I know

that but still sometimes like very very

not not very often but sometimes.

Okay, tell me did you ever have bad

dream?

Yeah, one time only one time like I had

a like of kidnaps kidnapping. And what

about you? Oh, me. I I get I don't get

deeply sleepy, but I just don't have

dreams.

So, I don't have nightmares. Only

remember one when I was five

at all.

What is

Oh, so it was where five clowns were

chasing me at night. I jumped into a

van, drove it, went into the sea, and

died.

What?

And you have leaves. Do you think any

wake up to a child as you accept?

No.

Ask tell us now what would you tell

children to not sleep well? What should

they do? I suggest so you can never

catch up on your sleep but still you can

make a bedtime routine and you can read

if you can't sleep maybe read a book and

that always makes me fall asleep easily

like snap. So now I I don't like reading

books uh at night but I like listening

to stories from my mother and then when

she tells uh songs to me I like feel

very sleepy.

That's good.

And one more thing what do you think

Steve is?

I think

I think sleep is good for like when we

get up and then we don't have dark

circles.

I think um so we have a hippoc compass

in the middle but it's kind of closer to

the left side and it's kind of like a

memory box so it's best to sleep long

like 9 to 10 if you're 10 years old

something like that.

Now they should sleep well. How would

you then

I would say maybe like sleep well always

um and always sleep long.

Sleep well and have a happy life.

You wish you had around bedtime.

Around bedtime, I want to play a card

with my grandmother and grandfather, but

she does not let me play.

Well, you think it help you sleep better

or just something you like?

Just something you I like because like

at night only they get a free time to

have fun with me. That's the point.

What about weekends? Is your bedtimes?

No. What? What time?

One, two.

Around 11, I normally just um play games

or swim in the pool.

Oh, that's fun. I'm so scared of

swimming at the pool lights.

Swimming at night.

Can you swim in the night?

Night swim. Yeah, I I like

What about holidays? Do you change your

sleep routine?

Yes. Yes, I do change my sleep routines

that day. Like sometimes my cousin and

everybody meet and then sometimes I like

play night uh at with my grandmother and

grandfather and also I watch cereals

with my grandmother at night. Uh so I

obviously take a shower then I sometimes

have like talk to uh my mom for fun and

then I sleep somewhere like that. Uh if

we are traveling like it's uh if we have

cousins with us then I don't sleep

really I don't sleep

at all at all

like many days.

Yeah.

How do you function when you sleep tire?

Yeah. How do you

No,

I feel like you do. See, but you don't

realize.

No.

You think it's that?

Yeah. What do you like eating?

I love eating junk food.

Uh, tell you one thing. When you when

you have your vacation time and both of

you have some fat ties and then school

starts again, how do you manage to get

back to that?

My mother wakes me up like a tiger.

What about Sophia? Well, I wake up

around 7. My my mom calls my name and

it's fine.

But that night, you see?

Yes.

Perfect. So, it's easy for you to go

back

like only one day like a tiger.

Oh, so what? What's your cool lunch? I

mean, I know you like jump school. What

do you eat us?

I eat so it's very much little grapes or

something. But meals like what's your

dinner?

Dinner there are many different things

like one I love is a burger and pizza

actually my guess.

But usually what do you eat?

Um dosa usually.

You don't like dosa?

No I love dosa but still.

And Sophia what about you? I

my grandma makes lots of Polish uh food

like soup

uh like rosu. It's very delicious. Love

it.

What does it have? You know,

it has vegetables which I like. I like

the vegetables like cauliflower,

carrots, and then what's it called? It's

macaro like spaghetti strips kind of in

a way.

And also like in lunch if you say like I

except ka I eat all subji and with roll

only it's fresh.

My favorite vegetable is bindi.

And uh do you see a difference in your

mood when you eat bindi or vegetables

and then on days only eat burger and

pizza you feel like not wor.

No, only sometimes in deserts.

You don't get sweet too much sweet.

Yeah.

I don't eat sweets like proper sweet

sweets and they make me have a headache

so I don't eat them. Thank you Shanaya

for being careful with me.

Thank you Sofia.

Thanks for listening.
