00:37
NunAfterHours
What's up? What's up? How you doing?

00:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Good, good. I really appreciate you coming in.

00:40
NunAfterHours
Thank you for having me. Of course.

00:41
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. You already know. Yeah. Go ahead, introduce yourself to the people out there. Let them know where you're from, what you do, all that.

00:49
NunAfterHours
NunAfterHours. You can follow me at NunAfterHours on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat. I'm from Henderson, North Carolina, and I am the Punk Princess.

01:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Yes, sir. Yeah. And you're also an NC State alumni. So welcome. Welcome back. Yeah. What's it like being back on campus?

01:10
NunAfterHours
It's dope, man. It's been 10 years. I'm not trying to tell my age or anything, but yeah, it's been a minute since I've been here.

01:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Word.

01:16
NunAfterHours
It's dope as hell to see how everything changed over time.

01:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Right?

01:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I feel that. What did you study?

01:22
NunAfterHours
Psychology.

01:22
DJ Whippopatomus
Word? Yeah. How was that?

01:24
NunAfterHours
It was good.

01:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

01:25
NunAfterHours
I was a bio major. At first I was like, oh, hell no, I can't do that.

01:30
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, I feel it.

01:31
NunAfterHours
Yeah, I switched over and, you know, psych is cool.

01:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, I love psych.

01:35
NunAfterHours
I loved it.

01:37
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So what's the story behind your name? NunAfterHours.

01:41
NunAfterHours
I usually tell people, you got to stick around and find out for that. Okay, but what do you think it means? Just curious.

01:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Shoot. So honestly, when I hear none, I just. I kind of think like a Catholic type of nun, but like after hours, like, kind of like the opposite of what a nun is almost.

01:56
NunAfterHours
You may be right.

01:57
NunAfterHours
You may or may not be right.

01:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. I like the mystery.

01:59
NunAfterHours
I like that. Yeah, yeah. Keep people guessing, you know?

02:03
DJ Whippopatomus
Word. Yeah.

02:04
NunAfterHours
Can't tell them too much just yet.

02:05
DJ Whippopatomus
I respect it. So how long you been making music?

02:10
NunAfterHours
It's been going on four years.

02:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. How did it all start?

02:15
NunAfterHours
It started with me just wanting to make a song, like for a turn up because I was going out all the time, party. I'm like, let me make a song that we can turn up to pre gaming. So I got in the studio, made the song, and just fell in love with it. I'm like, dang, this is what I want to do. So I kept doing it.

02:31
DJ Whippopatomus
That's dope. That first song you made, is it still released on platforms or was it.

02:36
NunAfterHours
It is on SoundCloud. It's called Hoes and Molly.

02:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, okay.

02:40
NunAfterHours
Yeah. So it's been a long time.

02:41
DJ Whippopatomus
You gotta dig deep for that, right?

02:42
NunAfterHours
Yeah. It's not on Apple Music.

02:44
DJ Whippopatomus
I'm gonna have to check that out.

02:45
NunAfterHours
My original SoundCloud. Yeah.

02:46
DJ Whippopatomus
You have hoes and molly, bet.

02:49
NunAfterHours
Hoes and molly. Yeah. That was the time.

02:53
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So first off, I really love your song. Hold up. I really appreciate the attitude you bring to it.

03:00
NunAfterHours
Appreciate that.

03:01
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. And you are working on another project, Pussy Power. I'm gonna have to censor that.

03:09
NunAfterHours
Yeah. So the next single that I'm gonna release is gonna be called Rockstar Pussy, but that's gonna be off of my mixtape, Punk Princess. So I am working on that mixtape right now.

03:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay, so you got Punk Princess and Pussy Power?

03:23
NunAfterHours
No, Pussy Power's not a thing.

03:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, my bad. Oh, my bad.

03:27
NunAfterHours
So the name of the. The mixtape is gonna be Punk Princess, but the single off of that.

03:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay, okay. Bet, bet. Yeah. I appreciate the clarification.

03:38
NunAfterHours
Oh, yeah, no doubt.

03:40
DJ Whippopatomus
So how would you describe your music to someone that's never heard it before?

03:43
NunAfterHours
I would say a blend between all the genres that I like or all the genres that I like doing, such as pop, rock, hip hop, little bit of funk. Yes, all of that. So I try to, you know, try to fuse that together, and that represents me and my music.

03:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Right. That's beautiful. I love that. Yeah, you can definitely hear those influences in your music. And, like, each song has something different to offer too, which is. Just makes it a lot. Makes it a real fun listen.

04:09
NunAfterHours
Oh, yeah, it is. But it's only gonna get better. You know, my next project, my next release is gonna be even more fire and even more, like, zeroed in who I am and, like, what I've been working on.

04:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Right. Do you have any dates set for that yet?

04:24
NunAfterHours
I don't. Well, the dates that I had set. I'm running. I'm running behind. Not entirely because of me, but, you know, it's a process, so I got to push some stuff back, and I don't want to come up with another official date until I'm more clear into what direction I want to go. As far as the producer side of it.

04:42
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Got you.

04:43
NunAfterHours
Yeah, I'm working with different producers.

04:44
DJ Whippopatomus
You know, I Was about to ask. Yeah. Who you've been working with?

04:46
NunAfterHours
I've been working with Deuce Tyrell, mostly. Four phones.

04:50
DJ Whippopatomus
Word.

04:51
NunAfterHours
But, yeah, I was just trying to find people who can all bring that and amplify my sound even more.

04:56
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right.

04:57
NunAfterHours
So, yeah, it's a process. I'm working on that. Still working on that.

05:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. I'd love to shout out all the people behind the scenes, too.

05:04
NunAfterHours
Oh, yeah. Shout out to four phones. Shout out to DJ R&B. Shout out to Deuce Tyrell, my producer. Shout out Crossbones.

05:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Jooselord. Yeah. Big shout out all that. Yes. Yeah. Any more music videos in the work?

05:20
NunAfterHours
Yep. So actually, for Rockstar, I'm in the works of shooting that video, so.

05:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

05:25
NunAfterHours
Trying to find a junkyard or a scrap yard. Do you know of any?

05:29
DJ Whippopatomus
Please let me know if you do. But, yeah, listeners out there.

05:33
NunAfterHours
Yeah, yeah. So I'm trying to get that, like, grungy, like, rock star vibe. So I'm on the search for that. But once I find that and get everybody together, lock in a date, it's on.

05:42
DJ Whippopatomus
That's a fact. I can't wait for that. Yeah, that's a vibe gotta come through for sure. Yeah. Let me know. So when you're making music, do you write lyrics first or do you find a beat, then write the lyrics?

05:57
NunAfterHours
Honestly, it just depends. Like, sometimes I have, like, a lyric that pops in my head and I'm like, okay, I need to jot that.

06:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Down before I forget it.

06:05
NunAfterHours
And then I'll just go in the studio and put that on a beat later. But sometimes I just hear the beat first and I'm like, okay, this is dope. Let me write something to it. So it really just depends.

06:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right.

06:16
NunAfterHours
Because I come up with lyrics, like, on the clock at work, and obviously I can't, you know, record the song right then and there. But, yeah, I'll jot it down or, like, put it in my phone and be like, yeah, I need to find a beat to go to that. So, yeah.

06:29
DJ Whippopatomus
What else?

06:29
NunAfterHours
It just depends.

06:30
DJ Whippopatomus
When I was interviewing Jooselord, he said this kind of the same thing that, like, you have to write it down once it comes to.

06:36
NunAfterHours
You're gonna be so mad at yourself if you don't.

06:38
DJ Whippopatomus
He said even when he's in the shower.

06:40
NunAfterHours
Exactly.

06:42
DJ Whippopatomus
He records memos, too.

06:44
NunAfterHours
Got to.

06:47
DJ Whippopatomus
But yeah. We're gonna take a quick break to play y'all "Hol' Up" off of the 2019 album Fallen angel by NunAfterHours. Y'all stay tuned. We'll be right back.

07:08
Music
[NunAfterHours - Hol' Up]

09:57
DJ Whippopatomus
We are back again. I am DJ Whoopotamus and I am.

10:00
NunAfterHours
Here with the Punk Princess NunAfterHours.

10:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So, yeah, I gotta say, we're real excited to have you on for dvb. You have such a commanding presence on stage. Really love the energy that you bring. And yeah, I. The first time I saw you perform actually was at the poor house for Jooselord's show, his live recording.

10:23
NunAfterHours
Yeah, that was dope. That was Dope.

10:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah. What was that like for you? That show.

10:30
NunAfterHours
That show was magnetic. Yeah. That energy is like unmatched. And the fact that it was being live, recorded. Oh, man.

10:37
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. On a vinyl.

10:39
NunAfterHours
Yeah. But all the bands were awesome. I think everybody had like a different drummer. At least I think.

10:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

10:46
NunAfterHours
But yeah, it was dope.

10:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Actually posted a video on it on WKNC's blog and I showed our general manager and she loved how you perform. That's when she hit you up for dvd. Yeah.

10:58
NunAfterHours
Yeah. You never know who's watching. So I always try to give it everything I got because I've been doing shows for like a hundred people. Five people.

11:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

11:07
NunAfterHours
The show that I performed for literally five people, I made a connection that helped me raise further along in my career. So I just always try to bring it, no matter.

11:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Right. That's good to hear. Yeah. Exactly. Like, you never know what. What might come from that.

11:20
NunAfterHours
Exactly. Well, yeah, I'm really hype about ddb.

11:25
DJ Whippopatomus
It's going to be lit.

11:26
NunAfterHours
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

11:27
DJ Whippopatomus
I'm gonna make sure it's lit. Sometimes these kids don't like to turn up, but I'm. I'm gonna get crazy. When was your last performance?

11:38
NunAfterHours
My last performance? Hold on, let me think about that. Let me see. Well, I had a dj. I had a show not too long ago.

11:44
DJ Whippopatomus
I was gonna ask you about that too.

11:45
NunAfterHours
Last performance on the mic. I'm drawing a blank right now. I do my flyers. Yeah. It's been spaced out a little bit.

11:52
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

11:53
NunAfterHours
I'm not performing every weekend anymore.

11:54
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah. I hear that.

11:56
NunAfterHours
Kind of slip my mind sometimes.

11:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, no doubt. Do you have any rituals you practice before a show?

12:03
NunAfterHours
Nah, I just get lit.

12:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I feel that's a ritual in the ritual. Yeah, yeah.

12:08
NunAfterHours
For real. No, I just get lit and try to surround myself around. Like positive. Good energy.

12:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

12:13
NunAfterHours
Good vibes and, you know, that's it really.

12:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah. What is the crowd like usually during your shows?

12:21
NunAfterHours
It depends on the venue really. Sometimes we perform at the house. It's more like a laid back type of vibe.

12:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

12:28
NunAfterHours
Performing at the poor house, it could be like a whole mosh pit up there, so.

12:32
DJ Whippopatomus
Right.

12:32
NunAfterHours
It really just depends.

12:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Where's the house?

12:35
NunAfterHours
The house is in Durham.

12:36
DJ Whippopatomus
Word? Hell yeah. Yeah. I love going out to Durham. Do you have any other upcoming shows besides DVB?

12:46
NunAfterHours
I have a show in Greensboro on March 25th at the Artist Block.

12:52
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Bet. 25th.

12:53
NunAfterHours
Yeah, I'm headlining. Yep.

12:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Yo, I might be out there.

12:56
NunAfterHours
Actually, it's on a Friday.

12:58
DJ Whippopatomus
So let's get it.

12:59
NunAfterHours
Way to start the weekend.

13:00
DJ Whippopatomus
No, for sure. Yeah. So I also want to get into kind of your journey to how you got to be where you are today and just get to know the person behind the artist better, too. I want to ask you, actually, how long have you been DJing since you said you had your DJ event?

13:15
NunAfterHours
Actually, yeah. About five months. Four or five months. Not long at all. Still learning stuff.

13:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. How's that been?

13:22
NunAfterHours
I love it.

13:22
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, that's dope.

13:23
NunAfterHours
Like, I have an ear for music, so to be able to hear that and bring that together is like, dope. And I would have never stepped out and tried that if it wasn't for DJ R&B, you know?

13:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

13:34
NunAfterHours
Believing in me and seeing something in me.

13:35
DJ Whippopatomus
So, yeah, I always need that. That cat.

13:37
NunAfterHours
I'm always down to learn new stuff.

13:39
DJ Whippopatomus
I feel it. Yeah. I just started DJing recently, like, spinning the tables. Oh, yeah?

13:44
NunAfterHours
Yeah. I haven't learned that.

13:44
DJ Whippopatomus
I've been on and off. Yeah. What type of music do you usually like to play?

13:49
NunAfterHours
Mostly like, dance, EDM music.

13:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

13:52
NunAfterHours
So, yeah, I've been doing hip hop because of my 2000s party, you know, getting ready for that. But now that's over and done with, I want to focus on EDM and dance music.

14:01
DJ Whippopatomus
That's dope music. I love it.

14:03
NunAfterHours
So. Yeah, yeah. Something to get people, you know, raving and dancing.

14:06
DJ Whippopatomus
Get people moving.

14:07
NunAfterHours
I know, right.

14:09
DJ Whippopatomus
People. People be sleeping on raves. It's on EDM festivals in general. They don't know. They don't know how crazy it gets, but there's a whole lot of love, too. Yeah, exactly.

14:18
NunAfterHours
Always meet new people.

14:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. For real. Yeah. I really appreciate the EDM aspect of you djing. That's kind of what I'm trying to do, too. I'm trying to mix, like, house and hip hop lyrics together.

14:31
NunAfterHours
Honestly, that's what I'm trying to do.

14:32
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell, yeah. Yeah. I think that's like the vibe later. It's like a wave that's, like, starting to happen. Low key.

14:36
NunAfterHours
Take the acapella and put it on the house.

14:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

14:40
NunAfterHours
That's dope.

14:41
DJ Whippopatomus
So you are from Henderson, North Carolina, and you're based out of Raleigh, is that right?

14:46
NunAfterHours
Yep, that is right.

14:48
DJ Whippopatomus
Do you have roots anywhere else?

14:50
NunAfterHours
Nope. Just those.

14:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell, yeah.

14:52
NunAfterHours
Just those two. Yeah. All town girl.

14:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Bet. What was. What was high school like for you in Henderson?

14:59
NunAfterHours
What was it like? Shoot, let me try to remember.

15:02
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, you know, I mean, it's a pivotal moment for a lot of people.

15:05
NunAfterHours
Yeah, it was cool. I played sports. I was a popular kid. Okay. But I also stayed to myself.

15:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right. I feel that.

15:13
NunAfterHours
Yeah. I didn't really come out my show until college.

15:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Word. What type of sports did you play?

15:20
NunAfterHours
I did basketball and track.

15:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Hell, yeah. What has the music scene in the Triangle been like for you?

15:29
NunAfterHours
It's been dope so far. Like I said, I've only been doing this for four years, and in those four years, I've learned a lot and met some great people. So the music scene around here, I think, is really dope.

15:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah. I've really appreciated it. How has the scene evolved over those four years? Has it changed a lot?

15:48
NunAfterHours
I want to say. No, it hasn't really changed a lot. No. Due to Covid, it kind of, you know, put a lot of stuff back.

15:54
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Facts.

15:55
NunAfterHours
And I think we're still getting to the swing of things. Getting more shows going on.

15:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, for sure.

15:59
NunAfterHours
More stuff like that. So, yeah, Covid just slowed down a lot of stuff in the music scene. But, yeah, hopefully we can get stuff back going so we can, for real, just continue to evolve.

16:11
DJ Whippopatomus
I think the momentum. Facts. Yeah. I feel like the momentum is starting to build up, and soon it's going to be unstoppable. But I feel like we have, like, a pretty solid, like, punk hip hop scene out here.

16:24
NunAfterHours
Really?

16:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Like, I've interviewed a few artists now, and, like, they kind of, like, describe themselves as that, you know, like, of course, like, crossbones is kind of, like the epitome of that. But then there's. There's still other artists outside of that, too, and it just. It's really cool to see that. Like, I really. I really love punk hip hop. Honestly.

16:39
NunAfterHours
I'm gonna have to tap into that more and meet some more of these people because I haven't seen much of any.

16:44
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

16:45
NunAfterHours
Any of them, so.

16:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah, bet. Yeah. I just interviewed St. Michael, and he has a different sound completely. His name is St. Michael of Durham, I think. I think he's been messing with. Yeah, yeah.

16:54
NunAfterHours
Okay. Okay.

16:55
DJ Whippopatomus
He kind of, like, has an electric vibe to it, too, and, like, a screamo vibe, and it's pretty dope. It's almost like emo rap dope.

17:04
NunAfterHours
I'm definitely interested. Yeah, I love emo shit.

17:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, same. Yeah. I really appreciate when artists kind of show some vulnerability in their lyrics.

17:13
NunAfterHours
Mm. No, that's real dope. So some of the other people who are on dbb, how did you guys find them?

17:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Shoot. Honestly, I've only kind of been involved with the hip hop portion of that. Cause we got Elijah Rosario headlining as well. He's from Durham. But I'm really not familiar with any of the other names on the ticket, to be honest.

17:36
NunAfterHours
Oh, we're okay.

17:37
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I'm pretty deep. Deep in the hip hop scene.

17:41
NunAfterHours
What is that? We can bring some versatility to the. To the festival.

17:45
DJ Whippopatomus
It's going to be like a mix of a whole lot of different people. It's going to be real cool.

17:49
NunAfterHours
Cool, cool.

17:54
DJ Whippopatomus
So who did you listen to the most growing up?

17:56
NunAfterHours
Ooh, well, I'm a preacher's kid, so that kind of like, restricted a lot of that stuff. So a lot of music that you guys listened to back then? I didn't really get a chance to experience it until I was older. So back in the day, mostly R and B and gospel, sadly.

18:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

18:16
NunAfterHours
I still snuck and, you know, listened to hip hop on my dang on. Was it eight track or whatever? CD player. But burning mixtapes and stuff. But yeah, just mostly like R&B, gospel and mainstream hip hop.

18:30
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah, that's tough. Yeah, but what was it like being the preacher's daughter and that was tough. Yeah. Okay.

18:37
NunAfterHours
To say the least, but I'm not gonna get into that right now.

18:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, that's cool.

18:40
NunAfterHours
But you know, it is. It's a process. It's a process that I'm still kind of, you know, evolving, so getting my own identity and stuff like that, so.

18:50
DJ Whippopatomus
For sure, yeah. So I'd like to ask a few, like, personal questions just to help people get to know you better. How would you describe your fashion sense, your outfits on stage and your music videos are fire, by the way.

19:03
NunAfterHours
Definitely alternative.

19:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, alternative.

19:06
NunAfterHours
Sometimes I'm like a pastel goth. Sometimes I'm a regular goth, Sometimes an emo, sometimes, you know, like that punk vibe. So it really just. It really just depends on my mood. But definitely alternative.

19:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. What's. What's pastel punk? Is that what you said?

19:24
NunAfterHours
Pastel Goth. Goth, yeah, it's like goth with like, pinks and.

19:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

19:28
NunAfterHours
Lavenders. A softer type of grunge.

19:31
DJ Whippopatomus
I never. I never heard anyone describe it like that.

19:33
NunAfterHours
For real. You want me to show you a picture?

19:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, Facts. Okay.

19:36
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

19:37
NunAfterHours
Wow, I can't believe you haven't heard of that.

19:40
DJ Whippopatomus
While you're pulling that up, who are you listening to lately?

19:43
NunAfterHours
Ooh, I've been listening to Avril Lavigne. She just came out with a new album.

19:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, I have to check that out.

19:48
NunAfterHours
Yeah, she made a comeback. Suako, of course. Juice wrld Rest in peace.

19:53
DJ Whippopatomus
Facts.

19:54
NunAfterHours
Just a lot of random stuff. Mostly those.

19:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

20:00
NunAfterHours
All right. I think I got a picture for you.

20:02
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

20:02
NunAfterHours
So, like that. Oh, you've seen that before.

20:07
DJ Whippopatomus
It looks familiar, but, like, I'm not. I'm not too familiar with it.

20:10
NunAfterHours
It's just, like, a softer version. That's it.

20:12
DJ Whippopatomus
I love it. Yeah. That's dope.

20:14
NunAfterHours
That's it.

20:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So I like to ask people, what are your. What's your favorite local restaurant around here or just in Carolina?

20:23
NunAfterHours
Local restaurant. Oh, man. Oh, man.

20:27
DJ Whippopatomus
It's a big question.

20:28
NunAfterHours
I'm gonna have to say Jose and Sons. The Mexican restaurant.

20:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Where's that at?

20:36
NunAfterHours
That is off of Glenwood, actually.

20:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Is in Raleigh. Word. Okay. I have to check that out. I think I've heard of that.

20:44
NunAfterHours
It's pretty good.

20:44
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. What do you like there?

20:46
NunAfterHours
I get the acp. I get the fajitas.

20:48
DJ Whippopatomus
I get all of it.

20:49
NunAfterHours
Like, I just love Mexican food. I get it all.

20:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell, yeah. You go in. Are you a cat person, dog person, or do you prefer another pet? Completely.

21:00
NunAfterHours
Definitely a dog person.

21:01
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

21:01
NunAfterHours
I got a Yorkie. Matter of fact, I can show you her on my screen right here. Spoiled as Yorkie.

21:10
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

21:10
NunAfterHours
But, yeah, most definitely a dog person. I do like cats, too.

21:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

21:14
NunAfterHours
You know, cats are kind of moody, so it just depends on the cat.

21:17
DJ Whippopatomus
Like, no, for real.

21:18
NunAfterHours
But, yeah, I love dogs.

21:20
DJ Whippopatomus
What's your dog's name?

21:21
NunAfterHours
Karma.

21:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Karma.

21:22
NunAfterHours
Oh, Karma's a. Yeah, literally.

21:27
DJ Whippopatomus
That's tough. How old is she?

21:28
NunAfterHours
She's three. She'll be four in May.

21:31
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, that's dope.

21:32
NunAfterHours
Yeah. You got pets?

21:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, I have a dog and a cat, actually. So it's. It's a fun dynamic.

21:37
NunAfterHours
They get along.

21:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, they do. They're best friends, actually. The cat's older than the dog, but the dog is way bigger than her now, though. That wasn't the case when we first got the dog. She was a puppy, and she's like a little bean, and the cat was bigger than her, and the cat was just off bat. She started that. The cat started bullying the dog.

21:56
NunAfterHours
That's normally how it is.

21:57
NunAfterHours
That's normally. What breed?

22:00
DJ Whippopatomus
The dog is a German shepherd boxer mix, actually. Oh, word. Yeah. Yeah.

22:04
NunAfterHours
I'm gonna have to see a picture of that.

22:05
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I got you. I got you. Yeah. They play hard, though. Like, they go in like. Like brother and sister, honestly. And, like, the cat's head will be in the dog's mouth, like, completely. And, like, she knows.

22:15
NunAfterHours
She's, like, playing, right?

22:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah, they're playing, but they. They still like the cat. He can be a dick sometimes. Honestly. Like, he doesn't have any. Like, he doesn't hold back at all. The dog knows she's gotta hold back. Cause we be watching her. We tell her, you can't tell a cat to hold back.

22:31
NunAfterHours
Right. Oh, man, that's funny. That's dope.

22:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, it's a whole lot of fun. They keep us entertained, for sure.

22:40
NunAfterHours
That's what's up.

22:44
DJ Whippopatomus
And another question I like to ask is just gives us more insight, I feel like, into how people operate. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

22:53
NunAfterHours
Oh, that really just depends. On average, maybe about six.

22:56
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Okay.

22:57
NunAfterHours
When I'm grinding, trying to get stuff done, you know, late nights in the studio, it may be, what, just two hours of sleep and I just got to wake up, start my next day. But, yeah, it all just feels.

23:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

23:07
NunAfterHours
But I definitely need at least seven hours. Okay. Like, fully rested for the next day. I feel that I'm a nap person, so.

23:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

23:15
NunAfterHours
I nap throughout the day.

23:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah. No, I respect that. I had to get away from naps recently, but, yeah, I used to be deep in the naps, but yeah, I need, like, at least seven hours or I'm going to be a little grumpy.

23:29
NunAfterHours
Exactly.

23:31
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Before we close things out, is there anything else you want to talk about? Let the listeners know.

23:37
NunAfterHours
I do not have anything.

23:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, for sure.

23:39
NunAfterHours
Closing. I want to say you guys have been dope. Thank you for having me here. It was nice to be back at NC State. Of course. Wolfpack Gang. Gang.

23:47
DJ Whippopatomus
