What is Tales of the Broken Realms?

Welcome to Tales of the Broken Realm, A multistory episodic Dungeons and Dragons Campaign. Where the Dungeon Master is changing once their story has been told, all within the same world. Sit back and enjoy this adventure.

Welcome back, dear listeners,
to Tales of the Broken Realms.

We are currently in Grace's villainous
campaign/arc in her second episode.

I am here to recap the first 20 to
25 minutes of what happened there.

Unfortunately, Adam and myself had to take
out a little bit of the audio to prevent

the entire file from being corrupted.

Luckily, we were able to get the most
of, and a majority of our episode,

very similar to what happened to Mr.

Caleb's Moonvale Masquerade first episode.

So let's get to it.

Let's do a quick recap.

Morath wakes up in the final
draft, decides to go about the

town to see what's going on.

It's break of day the sun is just rising,
and he goes about the marketplace,

and within this time, he sees our
one-handed halfling friend, Gemma.

He decides to try to rekindle a
friendship, and ultimately fails.

She's completely terrorized by
him, and he tosses a coin to try

to reacclimate himself with a sense
of friendship, but guess what?

It just doesn't work.

After that failed attempt, he does
grab himself a rather tasty breakfast

burrito and picks up some intel on
seeing a blueprint from an armorer.

He also sees, after he notices this
blueprint of sorts and talks to this

armorer, that there is someone parading
through the town with what seems to be

a scale or possibly bone armor of sorts.

They're ringing a gong, and they are a
very small statured figure clothed in very

what looks to be ritualistic clothing,
very white clothing, ritualistic.

He knows this has to do with something
regarding why they were sent there or what

they were sent there to stop or derail.

He reports this back to the final draft,
has a small verbal scuttle with Kel

Oren, our southern dhampir, played by Mr.

Caleb.

And in doing this, they decide to
figure out what they are going to do to

derail the rest of this ritual that is
happening discreetly within this town.

Once again, listeners, thank
you so much for understanding.

Grace, I am so sorry about this.

Adam and I couldn't apologize
enough about the audio being cut.

We will make this up in season
two and make sure we never

run into this problem again.

Thank you, guys.

Enjoy the episode.

Grace: Yes.

Okay for your sake, we have
Kel, you're doing what?

Kaleb: So Kel is gonna go and masquerade
as a like a, an apprentice jeweler,

getting in good with the blacksmith.

Being like apprentice on apprentice,
try to get that blueprint

that Molrath had mentioned.

Grace: Okay.

Yep.

And then Molrath is going where?

Zac: He's gonna meet Versin back
at the schoolyard to get his sword.

Grace: Great.

And Mal, what are you up to?

Bless

Skyy: you.

Mal is going to back to the Head of
Trade and is going to Black Widow

this, and seduce and kill this man

Grace: Great.

So-

Actually I'm gonna- I'm talking through

Adam: life.

Grace: If you would like to join in
with anyone or do your own thing.

Adam: Can I pick up my laundry?

You

Grace: can pick up my-

Kaleb: Absolutely.

That is his goal for the
day, is just laundry.

Adam: Did you get it?

I'm wearing a turtleneck
and I'm playing in turf.

Kaleb: Eight.

Grace: Wow.

All

Adam: right.

Anyways, yeah, the, He wants to go
pick up his new cult robes that the

tailor in town has made for the team.

Grace: Go team.

Indeed.

Adam: Go sports.

Grace: Let's see.

The least complicated, fingers
crossed hopefully, will probably

be Kel's little side quest.

So let's start with you.

You make your way down- And
probably we should assume I'm

Kaleb: not gonna make this complicated.

Grace: We'll see how it goes.

On paper it should be the simplest part.

But you make your way down to the
south end of town, and sure enough,

you find you can see sort of the
place where the placard was that had

Morabil's name has been removed, and
there's basically just an empty slot.

You can see there's- … nail
marks and all this stuff, like

generations of signs have been here,
and now there is an empty space.

The door is locked to get into- … this
workspace, but it looks like it

has been mostly cleared out inside.

You can peek through the
windows and see that.

Kaleb: Cool.

Is this a is the street that I'm
on, is it particularly crowded?

Could I just walk over and
pop the lock to just get in?

Grace: It's still pretty early, so
yeah, we'll say the people that are

out and about are the ones who are
currently in their workshops doing stuff.

So yeah, it doesn't seem like anyone's
really paying you much attention.

Kaleb: Okay, cool.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna go at
least pop the door open so that I

can at least have access to that.

I don't know, I figured it probably gonna
be pretty cleared out, but at least there

may be something inside that I could rig
a sign to slap on the front, at least

make it look a little bit more legitimate.

But yeah, I wanna open, I
wanna pop that door open.

Do you want me to roll, Yeah, give me a

Grace: sleight of
hand- … sleight of hand?

… to try to pick the lock, or if you're
just gonna, I don't know, slam through it.

Kaleb: Yeah, no, that's not Keloren's jam.

Okay.

Ooh, that's a, that's an eight.

Grace: Remember, you have an advantage.

Kaleb: Oh, that's true.

Thank you for reminding me.

Ooh, I needed that.

Yeah, that's a 10, so that's 15 total.

Grace: 15?

Kaleb: Yes.

Grace: Yeah, it's not a terribly
complicated lock, and it pops open.

Kaleb: Cool.

I guess my first thing inside the
shop, is there something that I can

like something that I can make a sign,
even if it's not particularly pretty

looking, just to make it look like the
shop's been taken, so if somebody was

to ask, I can at least point to it?

Grace: Give me an investigation
check, see what you can find.

Bad news.

'Cause there is a decent amount
of stuff left behind, just

since- … she left in a hurry.

Kaleb: Yeah.

Okay, cool.

I got a, I got another 10, so 15.

Or no, sorry, not 15.

I got another 10.

That's flat 10

Grace: Stay up

Okay.

With a 10, it probably takes you
the better part of an hour to

try and scrounge up something.

If you're really committed to this,
it's gonna take you close to an hour

because- … this lady was a jeweler,
and so didn't have a lot of, lot

in the way of scrap wood or- Yeah

carpentry tools.

I also saw- But you can kind of jerry-rig,
you find a few planks out back from

some old furniture and- Okay … some
rudimentary carving tools that aren't

made for wood, but you make it work.

Kaleb: Yeah.

So

Grace: yeah it, you do succeed, but it
takes you a while, and it's not great.

Kaleb: Honestly, that's all Cal needs,
is he just needs something to at least

have a plausible deniability on why he's
walking around saying he's a jeweler.

… Cool.

Is Nolan, is the blacksmith that Nolan
is at near where I'm at, or is that

gonna pr- like, a completely different
part of the settlement as far as

'cause I have the map pulled up, but
I didn't, wasn't really labeled where

Grace: that would be.

No, it's a few doors down,
but it is pretty close.

Kaleb: Okay, cool.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna make
my way down there and make my,

make myself known and try to
figure out what's going on there.

Grace: Okay.

Are you doing this directly or
just generally in a vague sense

introducing yourself to the
community or like- Oh, yeah.

No, I'm

Kaleb: fully

Grace: like- … going to them

Kaleb: and- I'm fully committing
to the bit of n- new to town,

wanting to meet fellow vendors
so that I can make connections.

Like I'm making it…

i'm at least trying to give myself
a base of like protection of like

I could actually be a real thing.

So if somebody's asking around,
like I can point, they can point

and be like, "Oh, yeah, th- like
that's the person I talked to him.

There's a shop."

Like giving myself a
little bit of an alibi.

Grace: Yeah, totally.

I don't know if I can do all these checks
in a row, but let's do a quick little

deception check just generally to see
how well you pull off this little ruse.

Kaleb: In my wheelhouse.

Ooh, that is a sweet 22.

Grace: Nice.

Yeah.

People, you- 10 … soon become
pretty well known in this

little metalworking district.

Kaleb: Cool.

Cool,

Grace: cool.

Yeah,

You have a couple of connections.

I love that.

I can give you names if
you want, but otherwise-

Kaleb: I may- … generally- I may
ask that, I may ask that later.

Now Kel is more so just concerned
with talking to Nolan, or

finding Nolan and talking to them

Grace: Okay, great.

Before we get to that,
let's jump over to Zach.

How would you like to go
about finding Ferrison?

Zac: I think Morath is just gonna go

Sit literally in the courtyard by
the the school where he saw Ferris

the night before, and he's gonna
just sit there and people watch.

Very boring.

He's gonna…

He's been very chaotic so far, so
he's gonna try to be not chaotic.

He's going to- Okay … be inconspicuous.

Grace: Yeah.

The place where you had met him
previously was not directly by the school.

It was actually outside of town.

But the kids liked to come out
and play in the sort of open area

beyond the walls of the city.

And so you had met him between where
the little, like, tent village had

been set up outside of the gates,
between that and the guard station.

Just I don't know, maybe a
good 20 feet of just open area.

And you do not see him immediately.

In fact, out towards the guard
station, you see probably half

the guards that you saw yesterday

Zac: Okay.

Yeah, I'm just gonna hang out there.

Grace: Okay.

Give me just a general perception
check as you are people watching

Zac: That's a four

Grace: Okay.

Never mind.

There's a bunch of people over here.

You're like, "Wow."

Yeah,

Zac: "Ooh, look at all those people."

Grace: Yeah.

There's a whole bunch of them.

Zac: Wow.

Oh my gosh, yes.

Grace: Yeah.

Zac: Nothing's

You know, just like out.

Grace: Yeah.

Zac: Okay.

Grace: How long are you
going to wait for Ferisin?

Zac: Tilly shows, I'm just
gonna sit here, literally.

I'm not doing nothing.

I'm gonna be Mr.

Boring today.

Grace: Okay.

Awesome.

Great.

Let

Adam: the chaos find you.

Zac: Yep.

Let's see.

Let's see if it is just
me or it is the chaos.

I am the chaos.

I am the chaos

Grace: Awesome.

Then, let's jump to…

sorry Sky, but I feel like yours
is gonna be a bit more involved,

so we'll jump to Adam first.

Adam: Slightly.

Grace: It's fine.

Take our time with you.

But Avaian,

Avian, whatever your name is.

Yeah, Avaian.

Avaian, I got it right.

You head over to our good little
buddy over at the tailor shop.

Adam: Oh, yes.

Grace: And you find him- Just

Adam: flaunting the ascot.

Just flaunting it.

Grace: Oh, absolutely.

You find him busying over a number
of, Oh my gosh, I'm blanking on

the term, but those not quite
mannequins that they use to-

Adam: The half mannequins that
aren't has the head on them?

Grace: Yeah.

That don't have the head.

Oh my gosh, my roommate- It's just a body
… literally made clothes for a living.

Why can I not think of what this is?

Anyway.

Adam: Hanger?

Grace: The things that
people make clothes on.

Adam: I get it.

All right.

Grace: Yeah.

Seems to be drafting a number of
items of clothing that are mostly…

there's a lot of yellows
and oranges going on.

There's a base of white and some
sashes and all sorts of- Oh,

yeah … embellishments and such.

Looks largely unfinished, but a
lot of things have been pinned

in place, and seems to be putting
sort of the final touches on.

And as you approach, he just turns
and is like, "Ah, you've returned.

Excellent."

As you can see, I've been very busy.

I did not sleep a wink last night.

I was so excited by your project

Adam: I can tell.

Oh, yes.

You've definitely watched Project
Runway a time or two, that is for sure.

Grace: Oh, yes, that
famous traveling road show.

And he just presents these garments
to you and is I didn't want to go just

straight for robes, as that seemed a
bit cliché in terms of cult attire.

But I did- Oh,

yeah

… find such joy in sort of draping elements.

And as you can see, I've
incorporated a number of sashes.

Your ascot itself really inspired me
with the texture of the silk and all

of the different the way it catches
the light and flows and moves, and

I thought found it very appropriate
for supposed followers of Pelor.

Although I should note, I don't think
all of them do, but a good number

of them do, so it seems to fit.

Adam: We- we'll fit in just fine.

That'll be beautiful.

You did a fantastic

Grace: job.

I certainly hope you don't
fit in with these things of

beauty, but we'll do our best.

Adam: I'm assuming I now have four
garments of Pelor's cult attire?

Grace: Pretty much, yeah.

He's…

He gets you the general-
Or does he need more time?

… motifs.

He needs a little bit more time to,

Solidify everything, make sure he
didn't leave any pins in there.

But he's probably a few hours away.

If you wanted to take something
now, he could provide you with a

couple of sashes, maybe one cloak.

But that's

Adam: about all that adds- Sure.

I'll take…

I'll just take some
sashes … it is finished now.

I'll just ask him.

I'll be like I see you're still busy.

I'll come back later
once you're fully done.

Fantastic work, by the way.

But I see these sashes that are completed
and I would like just to have those

so I can start the process of really
filling myself in to these outfits."

Grace: Indeed.

And these are, of course, only the
finest of craftsmanship, which means

they are adjustable to size as needed.

I d- I did r- make one

specifically for your respectfully, girth
that is just a bit on the larger side as

we have quite a bit of space to take up.

But you'll notice I took extra care in
the pleating of these particular sections

to make it appear as though a sunburst
is emerging from the part of y- your

torso, and I'm really quite proud of that.

And a bit of beadwork as though little
rays are catching- Oh, you've outdone

yourself … here and there, so it
sparkles and glimmers in the sun.

Adam: No.

Yeah.

You y- by far, you, through my
travels, are the finest tailor.

I will certainly tell the rest of the
tortle kind to come see you for any

outfits they may need on their journeys.

Grace: Oh that is

Adam: most flattering of you.

You will become the
exclusive tortle tailor.

Grace: Oh, delightful.

Adam: So he'll take the sashes.

He thanks him, and then he's
gonna throw in two gold pieces

for him as a tip for right now.

Grace: He goes, "Are, are
you satisfied with that?

I can keep going.

I've been…

I've found my new muse."

Adam: Once you feel like
you are complete, you you…

Once you feel like your masterpiece
is complete, you just let me know.

I'll stop by in a few hours, and
if you feel like it's done, then

we certainly can go from there.

If you need more time,
you just let me know.

I am at your service.

Grace: Excellent.

I shall continue.

Adam: Certainly.

Well met, and I will
see you in a few hours.

Grace: Met to you as well, sir.

Farewell.

Adam: Ta-ta.

Ta-ta.

He goes back out.

He goes back out to the to, I
guess the, it's on Main Street.

I guess that's it is.

It's on the main strip.

Grace: Yeah.

Most of the workspaces are on the
main strip, and then it's sort of

houses that fill in the extra spaces.

Adam: Okay.

Then I am just gonna meander
my way over to the black dome.

You don't have to do anything right
now with the black dome, but I'll

just meander my way over there.

Grace: Okay.

Yeah.

The big black dome.

It's quite imposing.

Adam: It is.

Grace: Yeah.

Adam: I, I am an expert in domes
'cause I live in a dome, so it

just makes sense that I
should investigate a dome.

Oh.

Grace: You have one with you always.

Adam: It's a home away from home.

Grace: Indeed

Kaleb: I'd say the dome away from dome.

Oh, I see what you did there.

Grace: All right.

Well- You're doing a good

Adam: job, Caleb.

Kaleb: Yeah.

I planned on

Adam: it.

Grace: With that, I do believe
that brings us to Melora.

The Black Widow.

Adam: The Black Widow.

Yeah.

Zac: Meow meow.

Adam: I'm so excited for this.

Skyy: It is not gonna go
the way we hope, folks.

Adam: These rules- As the- … will
never be in your favor.

That's right.

Grace: Okay.

Great.

So you find your way over to Lace
Hall, this town hall, I'm assuming.

And how would you like
to make your way inside?

Skyy: Do these teenage guards
stop me again as secretaries?

Grace: They are present.

They avoid eye contact as you approach.

Yeah.

And- But I- … you just push
the door open behind them.

Skyy: Yeah, I puff my chest
a little bit and just give

them a side eye as I walk in.

And I head straight to this man's office.

Grace: Great, yeah.

So you head in, and
you find Ambrose again.

He is once again poring over papers and
this time signing off on what looks to

be an inventory from some merchant or
another that has made their way into town.

And he's just "Ah, you again.

Are you settling into the
town better this time?

I have not been able to get many updates
about your progress here in town,

and I must say, if you are still not
satisfied, I will make every effort.

Although, again, I am not sure
if I'm the best person for this.

This is not really in, in my purview.

Anyway, how can I help you?"

Skyy: Ambrose, I think you are the
perfect person for this job, as I

lean against the doorframe a little
bit and start to play with my hair.

Okay.

I actually I think I may
be of assistance to you.

You seem very frazzled with your work.

Would you need some help?

Grace: No, that is okay.

I mostly deal with numbers and your
brother the other day, he said you're

mostly protecting I imagine punchy,
perhaps stabby, stabby of people.

And that's not really what I do, so
I worry that it'll be a little much.

And there is a system I've used…

At one point there was a system here.

It is not it is mostly in my head now.

I would worry that you would just
mess things up and it would be a whole

thing.

No.

Skyy: No offense.

My brother, out of the two of us,
I am more physical than he is.

But I, there's no one, there's
no one saying that I can't count

really high if you need some help.

And I'm gonna sit on his, push
the papers a little bit and

sit on the edge of his desk

Grace: Just immediately,
"Oh no, don't do that.

Don't touch the papers."

As I said, there is a system,
but it's not really a system,

but it makes sense in my head.

I just, "Okay, maybe just
like back off a little bit."

Skyy: Just really frazzled … maybe
you could use a break.

We could, I have some questions
maybe you could help answer

Grace: Oh, okay.

I suppose I already have a migraine
and it is like 8:00 AM in the morning.

So yeah, a break might be good.

Some coffee perhaps at The Final Draft?

Skyy: I was thinking we
could stay here and chat and-

Grace: Oh that is a shame.

My wife so much loves the
coffee at The Final Draft.

It is like her favorite- Oh, your wife?

… little morning ritual.

Ah, my wife.

She is lovely at the bathroom and-

Skyy: How long have y'all been married?

That's so cute.

Grace: Oh, 40 years now.

We have wonderful- Wow … relationship.

She is painter.

She'll, she is is the more creative side
of our relationship, whereas I take care

of the numbers.

I am a more logistical guy.

It's yeah, we I, we have quite a lovely
dynamic, I think, and many people

say so when they spend time with us.

In fact, oh, you should get
drinks with us sometime.

We have a lovely wine collection at home.

Skyy: Oh, for sure.

You don't look a day over 20, but so
listen, I've heard this, a dirty little

rumor going around here that you actually
know someone from Malakar's group.

Give a dis- disgusted face.

Grace: The, the Malicar.

I no, I don't really mess
around with that kind of stuff.

I try to keep things localized here.

If I try to worry about the rest

of the world, it just gets overwhelming,
and is immediately obviously nervous

now that you've brought up the M word.

The M word.

Skyy: The M.

I've heard that you have information
about someone undercover, and I don't

mean to be offensive, but you're…

You don't seem to have papers about it.

Is it all in your system in your head?

Grace: Okay, you're gonna have to make one
heck of a persuasion check at this point.

I

Skyy: shall.

I shall.

Grace: Yeah.

Skyy: He's gonna die either way,

Grace: try and open up, Let me roll

Kaleb: Somewhere, somewhere off in
the distance- … insight on his

part … Tel is just like, "God, why?"

He just feels it in his brain.

He just goes, "God, why?"

Skyy: God, why?

All right.

Kaleb: Hot dice.

Skyy: That is a 18.

That's nice.

Hey.

Kaleb: Let's go.

Skyy: That's pretty good.

Grace: Okay.

He got a 15 on his
perception, or no, insight.

And he's like, "Oh where did you

hear that?

Th- thoughts,

I've been very quiet about that.

Are you also, are you with the rebellion?

I am, trying to contact them.

I to be perfectly honest, I've
not been quite so sure how

to deliver the information.

It seems very sensitive, and
yet it's it's a whole thing."

" Skyy: Yes.

I do apologize for our lack of response.

My brother and I are with the
resistance, and we wanted to make sure

that you were who you said you were
before we asked for such information."

Grace: Yes, I would like to not advertise
it so much, keep it close to the chest.

And have it I'm not so sure I want to…

I would much rather deliver it directly
to the leaders in the resistance and…

Why am I going French with this?

It's

Zac: all right.

Actually Rome.

Grace: No, I

Zac: got this.

Oui.

Oh.

Oh, resistance.

Resistance is- Resistance.

… Skyy: I understand wanting to bring it
to the leaders directly, and I am one

for bringing things to leaders directly.

But they are a bit preoccupied
with the, And she looks around.

You know you guys have a
ritual going on, right?

Grace: Oh yes, of course.

I, And he reaches into his coat
and pulls out a little slip of

paper and starts fiddling with it.

And he's like, "Yes, I it's
fairly important to the community.

Many people are involved.

I was going to wait until after to try
and deliver this particular message.

I know it is important, but I care a
great deal about my community, and so I

wanted to see that everyone was safe."

Skyy: Yeah.

Y- how about this, you go and
handle that, and I will bring

this to the leaders for you.

You have my honest word that it will
be brought to them rather quickly.

Grace: I I don't, let, let me make
another copy, just to be certain.

I would rather have it on my person
just on the rough chance that I get

the opportunity to go travel there.

I don't get to travel very often,
so once the escort comes to take

me there, I would like to still go.

Skyy: Oh,

Grace: yeah.

But I suppose- You

Skyy: go ahead

… Grace: a little bit of a
backup would not be too bad.

Skyy: Yeah.

You go ahead and do that real quick.

And I am gonna look back to
the door to see if I shut it.

Grace: Would you have
shut it on your way in?

Skyy: Probably not.

She was trying to flirt.

Probably not.

Grace: Then no, it's not shut.

Skyy: I-

Grace: He starts, he sits down and starts
scribbling on a new piece of paper.

Skyy: Let me shut the door.

I wanna make sure that no unsightly
ears hear this conversation.

I'm gonna go shut the door real quick.

Grace: All right.

As he-

Yeah.

Easy enough

… Skyy: as he scribbles.

Grace: Is he comparing the
two pieces of paper now?

Yes,

Skyy: he does that.

As he's comparing the papers, I'm
gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna come up

and I'm going to activate my crimson
right, making my sword a flame sword.

Now I really do apologize about this not
really, and I'm going to swing at him

Grace: Okay.

Go ahead and make your attack.

I'll give you advantage since he's
totally surprised at this point.

Skyy: That is a, a 19 on
the die plus five for 24

Grace: 24.

Yeah, that definitely meets his AC.

You swing down and just
cut through this man.

You find he's actually…

he has a bit of armor underneath his suit,
just a bulletproof vest kind of situation.

… Some basic, plate armor.

W- very thin, more of a subtle thing.

But yeah, go ahead and roll
your damage as you cut through.

Cool,

Skyy: cool.

I took four damage from my own
right so that's an extra D8 of fire.

All right

15 damage in total.

I don't know if he's resistant to fire

Adam: He is not

Skyy: Cool

Grace: Should be

Okay.

Yeah, he screams pretty loudly and
appears pretty hurt by this, but

he is still standing, and at this
point- … we shall roll initiative.

Skyy: Cool.

Grace: He rolled…

Ah, math.

A 15

Adam: I got

Grace: 14.

14.

Okay.

He is immediately alert and not very happy
with you, and he reaches down and from

under his desk pulls out a great sword-

Adam: Oh … that

Grace: he is going to
swing towards you twice.

So that first one is going to be, ooh 27.

Skyy: Damn.

That hits.

Grace: It hit.

And

that's 15 damage on that one.

Second attack- Okay

is a natural one.

Okay.

He swings and whiffs and slams it right
into a chair here in his office, and

it takes him a second to pull it out.

And we shall head to your turn.

And he's gonna move towards the
door- I will- … with his movement.

Skyy: Yeah.

I will also take my
movement to block said door.

Grace: Okay.

Skyy: And I will use a bonus action to
drink one of my mutagens, and I will

take, I will take my po- my potency, which
gi- makes my strength increase by four

Sweet.

Let me mark that

That way am I one, two, three, four

Okay.

And then I will do my two
attacks with my sword.

First one is a 18 to hit.

Grace: Just hits.

Skyy: Ooh good.

Do you want me to roll them both and then
give you damage or do it one at a time?

Grace: Sure.

Skyy: Okay.

Do

Grace: you wanna roll them both?

Skyy: The second one's an 18
on the die plus six, so let me-

Grace: That'll hit

Skyy: find four D8s.

Okay.

Oh, eight

16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24.

24 damage total

Grace: Nice.

That's

Awesome.

He is still standing.

He is going to use his turn to make
we'll call this opposed athletics

checks to try and shove you out of
the way of the door to push past.

So go and roll athletics.

Skyy: Ooh, good thing for
my increased strength score.

That is a dirty 20.

Grace: Okay, I got a 28.

Skyy: Damn it.

Grace: 19 plus nine for a not- You really

Skyy: took this guy

Grace: for a

Skyy: mage

very

Grace: visually bulky man, but something
in that orcish bloodline just kicks

in and he heaves you out of the way.

You hit a wall and stumble a bit back
towards him, and he flings the door

open and is just going to use his
turn to yeah, shove you out of the

way and then start calling for guards.

Skyy: Okay.

Is he, like, leaving my area of range?

Oh, God.

Grace: He would be, yeah.

Skyy: Or is he just

Grace: gonna try and hit me?

You hit the wall and bounce back.

You have a chance to hit him
with an opportunity attack.

Skyy: I'm going to.

You

Grace: swing back towards him.

Skyy: Ooh, let me read this real
quick, 'cause this might save my booty.

I have Sentinel.

Does that…

If I hit a creature with an op attack,
the creature becomes zero speed.

Okay.

Come on

Ooh, what is my plus two?

Oh, plus five.

Grace: That does not hit,
unfortunately Damn it.

Skyy: I'm gonna twin psychopathy.

Help me.

Even though I don't have anything for it.

Grace: It is now your turn.

' Skyy: Cause that was- perfect

… Grace: end of his.

Skyy: I am going to look at my
life and rethink some choices.

I will use one of my, blood curses.

I believe it's a bonus
action to do, I think.

Oh, it's no action.

Okay.

I will use one of them to do
blood curse of the marked.

So as a bar- bonus action, I mark a
creature within 30 feet of me, and

when I hit it, I do extra damage.

Nice.

So then I'll roll my two attacks at him.

For a 19 on the die and a 17 on the
die for a plus six, so big wins.

Yeah,

Grace: that, that will for sure hit.

Skyy: All right.

I'm gonna…

I don't have enough D8s,
so we'll do one at a time.

15.

So 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

20 for the first one.

Adam: Okay.

Skyy: And then

19 for the second one

Grace: Okay, he is still standing,
but starting to look a little shaky.

Perfect … so if that's all
you're doing on your turn, he

is going to swing back at you.

You're now fighting
basically in this doorway.

… And you have perhaps one, maybe two
more rounds before some guards come in.

Skyy: Yep.

Grace: That's a natural 20.

Oh,

Zac: fuck.

Jeez.

Grace: And a 19 on the
die for the second one.

Two.

Yeah, I have

Skyy: an AC of

Grace: 20.

Yeah.

Skyy: Yeesh.

Grace: That's going to be-

Skyy: You're about to lose
your twin brother, all right?

Oh.

Grace: 19 points of slashing
damage for the first one, and-

Got it … that's not very good.

Nine points of slashing
damage for the second one.

Skyy: Okay.

Grace: So- Cool, cool,

Skyy: cool

… Grace: 28 total.

Skyy: Yep.

Grace: And that is his turn because
he does n- he's not very inclined

to try and run away from you again.

Skyy: Good.

Thank God for the tough feet.

That's all I got.

Okay.

So is it my turn?

Grace: It is.

Skyy: Sick.

I will swing on him

That one's not gonna hit.

Plus eight.

So 18.

That is his AC.

So one should hit.

Ooh good.

16, 17, 18

26 damage

Grace: Oh, almost right on the money.

Had 24 hit points left.

So you miss a strike and realign and
take a moment to go, "I can do this,"

and swing down, and he ceases moving.

However you are still in
danger of being discovered.

So- Yes … you have approximately six to
10 seconds before you will be bombarded

by a couple of guards, and perhaps some
other people in this building as well,

as this is a s- a bunch of offices.

And you can start to hear
people moving within behind some

of these other closed doors.

So you have his office, the main door,
and this back door that you know is there.

And you can see there is a hallway
that goes back in that direction

before expanding into a larger chamber.

And-

Skyy: Yep

… Grace: it's hard to see from this
angle, but you presume that the

door is on the far side of that.

And a bloody corpse in the hallway.

What would you like to do?

Skyy: Yeah.

Okay.

Let me read my mutagens real quick.

I think I have something.

Nope

okay.

I am number one going…

Did I see him take the copies with
him when he was trying to run,

or are they still on his desk?

Grace: It's still on his desk

Skyy: Okay.

Then I am going to grab his
body and drag it into his office

as I try to get the papers.

Grace: Okay.

What is your strength?

Skyy: My strength now is a 17.

Grace: Okay.

So we'll say that's not too difficult
so I won't make you roll for it.

Yeah.

You drag it in.

Skyy: Is there a window in his office?

Grace: There is.

Skyy: Okay.

I'm gonna-

Grace: Your average sized
little standard window.

Skyy: I'm gonna grab the
papers, shove them in my pocket

And lets out a blood-curdling scream

Grace: Okay.

And are you staying put?

Skyy: I'm sta- I'm staying, I'm like
get, I'm getting like more blood on my

hands, like I've tried to resuscitate
this guy and I'm like screaming for help

Grace: Okay, awesome.

Yeah, as you're like setting up this
very dramatic scene within this office,

two guards and you start to hear some
more footsteps of others approaching.

But they burst through the doorway
and are "Oh my gods, what happened?"

Skyy: I was…

Oh my God, I was st- I was in the
hallway talking to him, and we were

about to go get some coffee, and
this person came up and they just

killed him, and I tried to save him.

I can't save him

Grace: One of the guards let's
see, I wrote down their names.

Jeff- I wrote down- … kind of kneels
down and starts trying to help you

stop the blood flow and is "Oh my
gosh, he's this is a lot of blood.

I don't…

Okay."

And the other kid that you had
primarily talked to, Callum, he

goes and starts looking around
and draws his sword and is okay.

Okay.

Where did they go?"

" Skyy: They went out that back door."

Grace: Okay.

At this point I'll have you go
ahead and make a deception check

Skyy: All right, babies.

Gotta crack it.

Come on, Skye, you got this.

Plus one to this die.

Adam: You got this.

Skyy: You

Adam: got this.

I got plus

Skyy: one, they're

Grace: believing you.

The DC will say with the sort of the
drama of this scene and the, the, it's…

just from how you're playing
this, we'll say it really low.

It's trying to be the 15.

Skyy: That's perfect.

That's wonderful.

I got another 17 on the die for an 18.

Grace: Hey, nice.

Skyy: Let's

Zac: go.

Yes.

Grace: Okay.

Okay.

Yeah, they seem to believe you.

They…

Jeff seems put and again, is just
trying to try and get as many

details from you, and try and clean
up this scene as much as possible.

And Calum runs off, and you see a
couple more guards dash through the

hallway and down into that larger
chamber to go look at that back

door and see where that person went.

Adam: He had a mask on.

He was a

Skyy: little- He was wearing
odd outfit, he was wearing a

mask, and he can cut me too.

And I'm, oh, my brother,

Adam: where's my brother?

He sounded really

Skyy: weird.

He sounded super weird.

He sounded weird.

Adam: He's

Kaleb: mumbling about the
darkness being his ally.

Grace: He was this crazy old man
that kept throwing money at people.

Adam: That'd be so funny.

That'd be so funny if you
just threw Morat under

the- Fuck.

Tell me.

And he's currently just sitting
there waiting for chaos.

Kaleb: No, no way.

It's Gemma.

It's Gemma who did it.

Gemma, the one-handed halfling.

Adam: Yes.

Kaleb: Yes.

Grace: I'll say, yeah, you h- you
are currently being questioned

by these guards who are trying
to figure out what happened.

Oh, good.

So what- Go for

Adam: it

… Grace: precisely…

They're trying to get as many
details as they can from you.

What do you tell them happened?

Adam: Morat did it.

I know you want to.

I know you want to, but you don't have to.

But I know it'd be so funny if you did.

But-

'Cause I just imagine, 'cause
he's currently just sitting on

a fountain waiting to see him.

And he has 20 guards around

Skyy: him.

Minding his own fucking
business right now.

The one time, the

Adam: one time he's not causing
chaos he has no clue what

Grace: happened.

"This weird strange officer, he
killed this guy, then handed me a

gold piece and told me to keep quiet."

Adam: All right, anyways You can do what

you need to do … I

do what you

want.

I just- Yeah … that, that image
played out in my head too good.

Skyy: Yeah, I think she's not smart
enough to pin it on the one-handed,

Adam: Oh

Skyy: lady that we all hate.

The one-handed halfling.

So I think she would describe Molrath
'cause he's like an, an enemy of the state

that she can easily offhand describe.

I'm sorry.

Grace: Now-

Skyy: We can bail

Grace: you out.

It's fine … you tell me
here, how-- to what level of

accuracy are you describing him?

Skyy: I'd probably

Grace: describe him- Are we
talking easy to identify?

Are we talking vague- I'm probably
doing a- He's like, "Who's this

Skyy: guy?"

… a 50%, 50% description 'cause like
I'm trying to play- It'd be him

that, that shocked like adrenaline
rush, I don't remember much type thing.

It was a masked

Adam: man.

Skyy: It was a masked man who spoke of

Adam: the darkness.

He was molded by it.

All right.

He was molded by it.

He was molded

Grace: by it.

Here's how we're gonna resolve
this absurd scenario that you've-

Oh, this is great … given me.

I'm gonna roll a D20.

On a 15 or higher, they connect
the dots and they go after Molrath.

Zac: Oh.

Grace: That's a five.

Adam: Ah.

Grace: The

Zac: mystery man.

Grace: So- Damn.

I wanted to see Zach get out of that
one … I walk approach you up next day.

Don't worry.

Trust me, I would've.

I have a plan.

Talk to an alibi.

He's bo- around like a
lot of people right now.

Zac: Yeah, exactly.

Like they can account for me.

The trials of

Adam: the justice system will free me.

Zac: Malachi's justice
system, quite handy.

Grace: Got connected sometime.

That was,

Adam: that was a great laugh, guys.

That was great.

Zac: All right.

Grace: We'll leave the scene with this.

As you're they escort you, if you'll
allow them, over to a sort of medical

station that they have within the town
where you can get cleaned up do the

equivalent of a short rest to try and
regain some hit points if you so choose.

And one of the guards is just like, "Man,
this day just keeps getting worse and

worse.

This is our second murder of the day.

This is crazy."

Skyy: Second murder

Grace: Yeah, somebody
got drowned in the river.

It was wild.

Never had that happen before.

Skyy: That's crazy.

Grace: I know, you're telling me.

And with that,

we'll pop back over to I guess whoever
wants to do something interesting next.

I believe, Caleb, you were going-
I can- … to talk to this smith

I

Kaleb: can go.

Yeah, I was gonna go talk to Nolan.

It- not gonna Black Widow this
poor person, but I'll do my best.

He was

Grace: married the whole time?

I know, for as well as that worked.

Kaleb: I- if there is anybody
in this party that could do

it, it would be Kel, but- It

Grace: would be

… Kaleb: that's not his game.

He's…

That, that ain't his bag of tricks.

Okay, cool.

Yeah, Kel is going to once he makes his
rounds, ingratiates himself with all of

the blacksmiths he's gonna ask around and
find the shop that Nolan is at, 'cause

he realizes very quickly that Morath
gave him zero information and is gonna

go like like whee- like try to like spark
up a like conversation/friendship and see

what information he can get from Nolan.

That's his goal.

Grace: Gotcha.

You go towards Nolan's workshop,
and you curiously only see his

apprentice, this oh, what is he?

This human guy who is working
up in this main workshop, and

you don't see Nolan currently.

Kaleb: Okay, cool.

Yeah, Kel's just gonna walk in and just
like very he's doing his best to blend in.

He's gonna say hey there, friend.

H- I've been making my rounds.

Have you…

Is your boss here?

People, I was looking for a
man, a person named Nolan.

They pointed me in this direction.

I just guessed this was the right shop."

Grace: Oh yeah, he's over in
the main workshop down below.

They're a bit busy at
the moment, honestly.

It might not be the best time
to go introduce yourself.

Kaleb: It, less introduce and
more I guess to be a little

indelicate business proposition I
was hoping to speak with the boss.

I don't know if you have the
authority to speak on such matters

Grace: Oh not really, but we're not
really taking any business t- currently.

We've got a big project we're
trying to focus on today and

most of tomorrow, so it is…

Again, it's not really a great time.

Could you come back maybe in two days?

Kaleb: I, man, I'm sorry,
I don't wanna be rude.

This is a little bit more important
than I would like to talk with somebody.

I was sent here on, in
regards to Faerenth.

He had, he sent me on a task.

I barely know the man.

He caught m- he caught me in my
shop, asked me to come talk to

Nolan about partnering on something.

So I'm try- it…

He seemed a little hush-hush about it,
but I just need to talk to Nolan about it.

Something with Faerenth and some
sort of sword or something like that.

Grace: All right.

Gotcha, okay.

Yeah I'll go talk to him, see if…

I kinda gotta keep this thing rolling,
but I can step in with him for a second,

take over while he comes and talks to you.

If you don't mind staying
here for a second.

Kaleb: You trust…

Take my…

Take all the time you need.

I appreciate the help.

Grace: All right, I appreciate that.

And he goes off.

You see he kind of rounds to the
back of the building and disappears

for a second, and you hear…

As you're left alone in this moment,
you can hear very faintly just the

vague sounds of metalworking the hammer
pounding and some sort of forge going,

lots of just mechanical sounds some coming
vaguely from underneath this workshop.

But then after a few seconds they stop-

… And stay quiet for…

except for the forge,
that keeps going, for-

Yeah

… a few seconds, and then
they pick back up again.

And a moment later you see this high
elf guy, Nolan, rounding coming back

from where this other guy disappeared
from, and he goes we have a bit

of important business to discuss, and if
we could make it quick, it's somewhat of

a sensitive project going on right now."

Kaleb: It's…

it's funny you mention sensitive project.

Your buddy, friend, I don't know, he
seemed real chummy when I talked to him.

Was it Faerenth mentioned you,
you were working on something.

I told him I was a jeweler.

He said it might benefit both of us to
work together, something about some sort

of vessel for the people over at the Orb.

I don't know.

He gave me very little details, and I'm
gonna be honest, I'm a man of details

when it comes to projects, and he
told me you'd know what, what to do.

Something about adding jewels
to something with the Orb.

He, again, didn't give me a lot.

Grace: All right we've already got
River working on this one with us.

I think we've got just
about everything we need.

We actually…

Most of the sort of fine detail
work has already been taken care

of, and now we're just piecing

things together, and then River will
just double-check, make sure things

are still in proper alignment and such.

But I don't know where Ferrison
might've heard that, but we're about

well taken care of here at the moment.

Got everything figured

Kaleb: out.

I'm gonna be honest,
that I really would…

I don't know if you folks enjoy him,
but he's kind of a pain in the neck to

talk to, and I'd really like to not.

Again, if there's something I can do to
at least say that I helped you, something,

give me something to work with so that I
can at least, take a look at something,

verify something so I can give him some
details when I go back to him, 'cause Lord

does that man love to talk and complain

Grace: Sure.

It must be kinda new in town 'cause that's
not really the sense that I got from

him, but it doesn't seem pleasant to me.

But I suppose if you wanna…

bernard here is working on some backup
pieces there if anything goes wrong, we

need to replace anything, retry anything.

It also just help him hone his skills.

He is my apprentice

and all, so if you wanted to consult with
him on that, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

So it's, Yeah,

Kaleb: Honestly, like I
said, he- … basically

Grace: the same as what we've
got going on down there.

Kaleb: Hey, man, I'll tell
you, like I said, anything that

keeps me having to talk to that
guard, it was not a pleasant…

he's mumbling something about
some man in a mask pestering

him all day, so I don't know.

But yeah, anything even if it
doesn't even have to be the actual

object, the blueprint, something
he's working on just so I can give

some information when I head back

Grace: All right, he can Bernard
can give you some of the designs

to work on and maybe some of his
scrap metal that he's been working

with, and you can give a shot at it.

Again, there's no, no pressure or nothing.

We got ourselves pretty well sorted here.

It's just some backup, some
redundancies on the off chance

that something might go awry.

So you're welcome to help him.

Kaleb: Yeah, any- anything you
got, my man I'd gladly take it

Grace: I'll and I'll I'll
go send him back up here.

Apologize for I feel like I'm
wasting your time, but there you go.

He toddles away.

And- Oh, sorry.

I'm also talking.

Kaleb: I would love,
Yeah, no, you're good.

No, that was me.

I had an idea, and then I immediately
thought that it was a terrible idea, so

I was gonna shake his hand and try to hex
him, but I quickly decided against that.

Yeah, so- Okay, yeah … yeah I'll…

He said, "Yeah, hey man," and sh-
he does sh- he reaches out, Kel

reaches out to shake his hand.

It's pleasure.

Grace: Pleasure.

Yeah, I'll shake your
hand before going off.

Are you doing anything with that or?

Kaleb: Yeah, so I, my goal is that I
want to see the blueprints that they

are working off of so that I can either
get a copy of it to take back, find my

way to get my hands on a copy of the
blueprints of whatever they were working

on when Molrath was talking to him

They mentioned there was some sort
of sword or vessel or something

Grace: He goes back down to this
other workspace apparently, and soon

enough Bernard comes back up and
he is "Yeah, explained it already.

I gotcha."

And goes through this, like, thick file
and you see a, a just enormous stack of

sketches, blueprints, all this stuff,
and pulls out this sort of mostly just

a sketch, but some, specifications,
dimensions, and such of this band of

metal that just stretches across…

Or well, the, the design of it
stretches across this sheet.

And he goes, "Yeah, this is just like
a section of one of them, but I can

hook you up with some of the bands,
and then if you wanna s- go back to

your own workshop or we can try and
set you up with a workspace here.

We're just trying to-" Oh.

recreate this.

It needs to be nearly exact as you can
get it recreated on these seven sides.

It's, the geometry of it is real
interesting with this motif of the

seven that they're trying to get.

But you'll you'll see.

It makes the calculations work out.

We're just…

Yeah, I got,

Kaleb: Oh.

Grace: "Here, some of the bands I've been
working on," hands over a couple of them.

And "You have all the materials
that you need to take care of this?"

Kaleb: Oh, yeah, I got…

Trust me, I, I, from one craftsman
to another, I understand having extra

hands in the kitchen's never fun.

So I'll take whatever you can give me.

I'll head over to my shop, take a look
at it, and we can compare notes later.

Grace: All right okay.

And he gives you an additional
sketch and says, "This is how

they're all meant to fit together.

You see they just circle around,
and it's supposed to make this

sort of interlocking orb and stuff.

So if that helps you get a sense
of sort of the dimensions and

how things need to fit together.

Again, don't, if you don't get it exactly
right every time, that's all right.

That's what we got the backups for."

Oh.

Yeah, trust me, I've worked with
these- "And I'll send John your way,

and if you have any questions we just
need these back by, eh, let's say

sundown tonight is when we'll start
assembling for the final product."

Kaleb: I'll say less.

Trust me, I've worked with
these, religious types before.

They're, they mumble all sorts of nonsense
and don't really give us much, us, us

handy people much to work with other than
us guessing what they're trying to do.

So I'll go take a look, and
then we can reconvene later.

Grace: Sure, i'll be here as long as I
can, except maybe a couple meal breaks,

but even try to keep those to a minimum.

Kaleb: Yeah, you gotta
eat sometime, am I right?

Grace: Yeah, tell me about it.

Kaleb: Yeah,

Grace: and he sends you on your way.

All right, cool.

So tell me about that So you now have
a few you have seven strips of metal.

You have a sketch of what these
strips are supposed to look like,

engraved and jeweled in places,
and then you have a sketch of less

blueprinty, more just general concepts
of what the final shape is gonna be.

Kaleb: Cool.

On the like, I guess the, the
sketches, notes, whatever, does it

mention what the item is doing, or
is it just these are like the s- the

pure technical here's what it needs
to look like when it's put together?

Grace: These are just technical.

Kaleb: Okay, cool.

Hey it better than what we had before.

So I'll I'll peace out,
and then I'll make my way

I, yeah, I guess I'll make my way
back to my shop and then wait to

see, at least drop them off there and
then I'm gonna go try to find Morath

Grace: Gotcha.

I guess before we jump over to, since
you guys are colliding Adam, is there

anything else that you are getting up
to or are you also going to go weave?

Okay, I'm,

Adam: I'm getting up to nefarious things.

You ready for this?

All right.

Grace: Go for it.

Adam: As, as Avon walks out of the
the tailor shop with sashes in hand,

he is gonna walk back into the tailor
real quick and ask him if it is

possible to take these quickly and
weave some sort of symbol with gold.

Hint, hint.

I just want him to weave gold thread
into these sashes pretty quickly.

If I can throw down maybe five gold and
say, "Hey, it's before you start working

and I come back for the rest of the
outfits, I need these sashes to have be

woven with some gold in it just to make
it more, pretty and presenting since

I'm going to the dome here shortly."

Grace: Yeah, he definitely agrees to that.

You can go for the very, very basic,
which he can get done in maybe an hour.

Or if you want some real detail in
there, maybe some nice designs, it's

gonna be closer to two or three hours.

Adam: Okay.

And what time is it now?

Grace: I'd

say getting close to 11 o'clock,
quickly appro- approaching noon.

Adam: Okay.

So-

Grace: Just since we're kinda fiddly
with the time since we're all-

Adam: Yeah, I gotcha.

I'm just trying to think.

Two hours- Hopefully you have some
time … would be, like, 1:00.

Yeah, 1:00.

Grace: Yeah.

Adam: Yeah, that's fine.

Hopefully I have some room.

We'll do the two hours,
make it real symbol-y.

Maybe a sun in there, throw that in there.

And the sashes are to
be worn around necks.

Just, just- Got it … clarifying that.

And then he's like, "I'll
be back in two hours."

And then he's gonna go to The Final
Draft and hang out there for a little bit

until the gold is woven into the fabric.

And if you wanna fast-forward time
there or if you wanna jump to Zach's

character at that point and then come
back to me when the hour or whatever you

decide the time is right for that, I'll
just be hanging out at The Final Draft.

Yeah.

So- so the instructions…

So I just wanna make sure.

So gold fabric woven into the sashes.

And I probably want maybe, I
don't know, maybe 20 sashes.

They're just n- ascots.

They shouldn't be too difficult- … I
don't think, in my mind.

Yeah.

So just 20 sashes with gold
emblems of wo- gold fabric

woven into it with suns on them.

And then I'll head over
to The Final Draft.

Thank you.

Grace: You got it.

So with that- I got plans … we'll
hop back over to Zach and Caleb.

We'll assume that Mal is taking
some time to regain some strength,

get herself situated get some
hit points back, all that stuff.

So for the two of you Molerath has now
been waiting for a couple of hours.

As I said, it's quickly approaching
mid-afternoon, and no sign of Pharasin.

The guards there's been a couple
of them switching out and stuff.

They look a little bit on edge.

And in fact, about an hour ago,
a handful of them ran off to help

with some disturbance in town.

What could that possibly be?

Kaleb: What could that have been?

Grace: And this is eventually
Kel comes and finds you

Zac: Okay.

Yeah, so what is happening?

Kaleb: Yeah, Kel's gonna just plop down
right next to him and go, "Man, I got…

I wouldn't say blueprints.

It's more like weird notes about
what this object you mentioned is

supposed to look like, but we can
de- definitely take a look at them.

But it w- was oddly easy.

These people, man, these
people are really trusting.

Have you noticed that?

They like, just don't question anything."

Zac: Oh, yes.

It's quite nice, to be honest.

It's, you know- It's

Grace: almost like under normal
circumstances, everyone in their

town is thoroughly questioned and
searched before being allowed to

interact with the general populace.

Zac: Yeah.

It's almost like- Yeah … ditto.

Yeah.

Kaleb: Exactly, morath, what's that?

Really weird, man.

Zac: Yeah.

Yep, yep.

Okay, so- But I don't need- I guess
Morath's gonna look at him and say,

" Was your sister successful?

Have you spoke with her?"

Kaleb: I'm gonna say based on
the concerning amount of guards

that ran towards that town hall
building, probably gonna be a yes.

Zac: Okay.

' Kaleb: Cause you haven't seen her
dragged through, dragged in cuffs away

from there, so she probably- … I
wouldn't worry about it too much.

Zac: Exciting.

Wonderful.

Wonderful.

It's been a peaceful day so far.

How was your reconnaissance, your mission?

How did it go?

Kaleb: Like I…

Like I said, these people are
trusting that I literally just had

to give the most half-ass answer.

I got the blueprints, and they even
gave me a semi-sample of what they're

trying to get built, so we just gotta
put it together and we can let the,

the turtle man d- work his magic on it.

Zac: Oh, yes.

Let…

what is it exactly?

Do you mind showing me?

Kaleb: Oh yeah.

No, so Cal's gonna pull the notes and
the bands t- out of his bag and kind of

show Morath "Yeah, it's supposed to be
these bands, and now that it's jeweled

and they're supposed to lock together" but
the notes, these are just pure technical.

They can't, don't say a thing
about what it's supposed to do.

Grace: Yeah.

It's like a, it is an orb probably
about a foot and a half in diameter.

And it seem- the outer shell is these
seven interlocking bands that sort of

are arranged in such a way that they
can rotate and shift and make these

different patterns within how they twist.

And there appears to be some sort
of mechanism within that that

you can see in the final sketch.

But this is not something that you
approaching as a jeweler would've

been made, given the details of.

Kaleb: No.

Grace: Yeah

Is what

Kaleb: Now, would I be able to, would I
be able to notice that by tinkering with

it while I've got it sitting here, or
is that something I would need to have

another blacksmith or artificer look at?

Grace: It is a very complex
mechanism that you can- Oh … you

only can see vague bits of it
poking through gaps in the sketch.

It is not at all included in the
smaller amounts of specifications that

you've been given, or it i- it is, you
have not been given materials for it.

It is this separate
element contained within.

Kaleb: I can see it, and can I, would
I surmise that at, just from being

in that shop for as little as I was,
I can surmise that's probably what

Nolan was working on downstairs?

Grace: Correct.

Kaleb: Okay cool.

Yeah, so Kel's gonna mention that
to Molrath I got to very briefly

speak with your buddy Nolan.

He s- … mentioned he was working on
something pretty important, but I was

only given the bands, it looks like,"
and he's pointing at the little sketches.

"Whatever that thing is, our boy Nolan's
the one working on it, and he's gonna

be the one we're gonna need to squeeze
a little bit more information out of."

Zac: Oh, wonderful.

Well done.

Well done, Kel.

You've done very well, sir.

I am, Where's our turtle friend?

Do we know this?

Kaleb: Seeing as we all fully
just left before he woke up

can only imagine he probably…

He was mumbling something about
some robes or an ascot or something

yesterday, so- Oh, yes … best guess
is if there's a tailor somewhere he

can find his rotund self over there.

Zac: I was gonna wait here for Farison.

It does seem like he is taking quite
the, the time to get back to me we can go

find our friend, the turtle if we must.

I am getting rather bored sitting
here looking at all these people.

Kaleb: I was…

Man, I was gonna ask, have you…

What have you done?

Have you literally just been
sitting here on this little

red stool staring at people?

Zac: Yes, I've been trying to watch
the town, govern what nefarious

things are happening about this
ritual they will be having.

Nothing's happened though, so I've
rather- I was gonna say, pray tell- Real

Grace: before, buddy.

Kaleb: Yeah, what, what nefarious
deeds have you witnessed here, my man?

Madam Grace.

Grace: Oh.

Mostly cooking.

Some people doing laundry.

Zac: Yep.

Grace: Yep.

Zac: Yeah.

I watched this man scratch his
ass and not even wash his hands.

Quite nefarious if you ask me.

Kaleb: I-

Zac: That's quite
disgusting … if any of us

Kaleb: get sick, we'll surely
know who the culprit is.

Zac: Yes, the dysentery is quite deadly.

We must be careful of it.

Kaleb: It…

Oh, I'm i'm shaking in my boots, man.

I tell you, if I get dysentery,
you're the man I'm gonna come

to figure out who did it.

Zac: Yes.

Yes, it is that-

Kaleb: Let's-

… Zac: rather large

Kaleb: baker

over- All

right, man, let's go find this

Grace: turtle.

Let's go find our turtle.

Yeah, let's go.

Yeah, you can make a few rounds
just scanning through the town.

It's pretty easy to tell when he's
not present and you eventually find

your way back to The Final Draft.

And at this point we'll say, Mal,
I'm assuming you're probably coming

to reconvene with the gang at this

Skyy: point?

Yeah, if they're done with
my questioning, I'm out

Grace: The

Adam: gang's all here.

Grace: Meet up back at the Final Draft

Skyy: The gang's all

Adam: here.

That's what I was doing.

Use tissue, Penny, and take the chip.

Kaleb: Don't get away, Penny.

Adam: Good old-

Me and Caleb watch SpongeBob too much.

Kaleb: Oh, too much.

Lives in my brain rent-free.

All

Adam: right, I'm just sitting at a table
by myself, drinking some swamp water

Sounds about right.

Kaleb: Small Potter IPA.

Adam: Terrapin

IPA.

Grace: I just went out to
the river, scooped up a cup.

Adam: Pretty much.

Literally.

I bring my own.

Don't worry, I bring my own.

Grace: Actually, a powder you can
take with you and mix into any drink.

It makes it extra- Yeah.

It gives it some extra algae and dirt.

Adam: Yeah.

B-Y-O-W, bring your own water.

Kaleb: Yeah.

Kel is gonna walk up and, sky question,
did Mal clean herself off at all?

Is she still just covered in blood?

Adam: No.

Skyy: She would've cleaned herself
off 'cause they were like medic- like

doing medical stuff on her or whatever.

Kaleb: Okay cool.

Yeah, Kel's gonna walk over to Mal
and say, "I, I know I don't need

to ask this, but I'm gonna guess
all of those guards were you."

Skyy: You know what?

I sc- I would have bet you
money that man was a magic user.

He kicked my ass a little
bit, I'm telling you.

Kaleb: I can see the
bruises and the cuts, geez.

Looks

Skyy: like you just headbutt a wall.

He just brought a broad- he, he brought
a great sword out of under his desk and

kicked, he kicked my ass a little bit.

I was- You mean

Adam: to tell me

Skyy: he was

Adam: just not a townie?

What?

Skyy: I thought maybe he was
like one of those wizard types,

brain in the books and whatnot.

He has a wife.

He had a wife.

He's dead.

Oh, no.

He had a wife.

Kaleb: Yeah,

Skyy: I was

Kaleb: gonna say to my beloved
sister, please use the past tense.

Adam: What do you mean?

Malachor, don't get any ideas.

Don't slide in to the DMs.

Kaleb: Who's Malachor?

Who's Malachor?

Adam: Oh, sorry, Mulrath.

My bad.

Zac: There's

Adam: too many M names around here.

Too many.

Mulrath.

Sliding into someone's DMs?

Her dead husband's barely
even in the ground.

Zac: What are you even talking about?

Adam: Oh, I know where
you're going with this.

Zac: I'm evil, not a monster.

Kaleb: Let's all pi- pile onto him.

This, this nefarious man over here
has been sitting on a grass hill

all day watching a man scratch his

Skyy: ass.

I was simply about to ask a question.

I am sorry you said a murder, though, sir.

I will tell you.

What did you do?

I did inform it on you.

Adam: That

would-

Good.

He

Zac: deserves to be

Adam: blamed.

Zac: If he didn't do anything

Adam: all day while we're
out and about come on.

Zac: What did you do?

What did you do?

You look like you've got new garments.

Oh, I did a lot.

Adam: Yeah.

Zac: You

Adam: want

Zac: to ask her?

Did you go shopping?

You went shopping.

Adam: I did.

I went shopping.

Zac: How the fuck is that any better?

Adam: Oh, let me…

I can't tell you all my secrets,
but there's a plan in place,

and it's with the tailor.

Kaleb: Hey Ifain, I get it.

Adam: Yes.

Kaleb: We're all used to
being evil and secretive.

We kinda can't from each
other, you know that, right?

Adam: Yes, but my my s- my
plan's a little different.

It's a little too evil.

It's a little too evil.

Kaleb: What?

What do you mean?

My, my brother, I have
lit orphanages on fire.

There's naught too evil for me.

Adam: Oh, yeah.

You, you know the sole
subterranean Aquin town?

Yeah, that got razed by me.

Kaleb: Okay, cool.

Adam: Just off the coast of Tidewell.

Yeah, that, that was me.

Those children got easier.

Are we really about to
have a- They were dead.

Mer, merpeople straight up
slaughtered, and they were very tasty

Kaleb: Let me guess, you h-
you pulled them up on land.

'Cause they're probably real hard
to kill when they're not swimming.

Adam: I caught up to him.

I'm fast in the water.

I may be slow u- up on the
ground, but I'm fast in the water.

Kaleb: Slow on the ground
and slow up here, my man.

Adam: Yeah.

Oh, you, you- Yeah, she don't
look like an athlete … I am

wise beyond your years, sir.

Wise beyond your years.

Kaleb: Just coded us roasting each other.

Skyy: Now it's chilling.

That's,

Adam: that's exactly, like,
how evil people, 'cause they're

just trying to one-up each other
on their evilness, would be.

Grace: I'm so glad we could
take a break from the murder and

fraud to just insult each other.

It really just drives home the evilness.

It's great.

Adam: Evil.

Has it been two hours yet, Grace?

Can I go back and get my sashes?

Grace: If y'all are gonna sit around
and wait for, we'll say another hour or

so, sure, you can go get your sashes.

Adam: This has been a lovely
conversation, gentlemen, and madam.

But I got some business to attend to.

I will see you guys later

Grace: Going to the tailor
for the third time today

Adam: I walk back in.

My good sir, how are you today?

Grace: I am doing splendidly.

I've been hard at work, and
I have completed your request

Adam: precisely to your specifications.

Oh, that is exactly what I wanna hear.

That is exactly what I need to hear.

I appreciate you.

Here's five more gold.

Treat yourself nice.

Grace: My, how generous.

Adam: Ooh, what shall

Grace: I do with

Adam: these?

I will let you know don't
wear the garments later today.

Don't be out in them.

J- just don't.

It'll be okay.

I know you're fashionable and you wanna…

my vision came to light through you
by the gods themselves but wait.

Don't wear 'em out tonight, okay?

I know you got one for
yourself, but it's okay.

You can wear it out later, but not today.

Today of all days.

Oh,

Grace: certainly.

Wouldn't dream of it.

I'm more of a winter
complexion, you'd say.

It wouldn't suit

Adam: me.

Oh, okay.

You got your colors done.

I see, okay.

Oh, absolutely.

I'm an autumn

All right I will take my garments,
I will take my robes, I will take

everything that you got and my 20
sachets with the gold we have woven

in them, with a beautiful sun on them.

Yeah.

Thank you very much.

All

Grace: set.

Adam: Ta-ta for now.

Grace: Ta-ta indeed.

Adam: All right.

And he's gonna beeline it
for the black dome now.

He's got things to do.

Grace: Okay.

Gonna have your friends
come help you at all, or?

Adam: It's up to them if they
wanna follow me and see what I'm

up to, but it's, it's up to them.

I was,

Kaleb: I was gonna say, I wouldn't have
outright been, like, with him, but Kel

definitely fully just does not trust
Vahn, and is gonna be tailing him.

No.

Zac: I'm gonna- 10 … team
up with the twins and-

Kaleb: Yeah, fully, this

Zac: dude's- … that guy
goes up to some fucking…

That's nefarious.

We're gonna follow him.

Yeah.

Kaleb: Again, cannot g- begin to
explain, all of us are incredibly

evil, and you gotta be messed
up for me to not trust you.

So yeah, we're absolutely following him.

Zac: Close.

There's something…

we are following him.

He might be going-
Okay … against Malachi.

We might have to kill him.

Kaleb: Yeah.

Yeah, no, yeah, I'm down for that.

Yeah.

Oh,

Zac: you

Kaleb: say the, say less, my man.

Grace: Where did that go?

Nonetheless, you are able
to go up to this black dome.

It is a good probably 40, 50
feet tall, and twice as rou-

it's, that's how domes work.

Yeah it's got quite the radius.

Zac: Yeah.

Grace: And two people on each side.

There's a, not really a door
in the traditional sense, but a

section of this obsidian that has
been cut out and set to the side.

And on either side of it, two
people in just standard clothing.

They don't really look like
guards, they're just…

They're guarding to the best of their
ability, but clearly not trained

fighters by any sense of the word.

And they're just standing out by it,
and they perk up as you approach.

And they're very curious
as to what you are doing.

Adam: By dawn's light
may bless you, child.

Grace: Yeah, you see this water genasi
guy be like, "Ah, I'm with you as well.

How can we help you?"

Adam: Yes I have a important, How do I
go about saying this in the proper way?

But I have information, wink, for
the setting of the sun, wink, and

I needed to get to the correct
people inside the stone, wink

Grace: Sir, are you okay?

Do you have something in your eye?

Adam: Yes, I do.

It's called an eyeball.

I got two.

Grace: Got it.

Okay.

I'm just not exactly sure what
you're trying to, You're gonna

have to be more specific, man.

Okay.

Let's- This is

Adam: really-

I gotcha.

I gotcha

I'm not sure what you're going for here.

All right.

He's gonna throw out a holy weapon real
quick, and it's gonna be the sun metal

talisman of Pelor with his face on it,
and he's gonna hold it out into his

face and be like, "I have information
to give to the cleric inside this dome

Grace: Oh, you wanna talk to
Tale- Yes … my brother and Pale

Warrior could have just said that.

Adam: Oh I apologize.

I didn't know if you were
a part of God's Light.

I don't, I…

You never know around here.

Grace: We're all on the same side.

Anyway,

Adam: Yeah.

Anyway,

Grace: yeah.

Come on in, man.

Yeah.

Adam: Certainly.

We're

Grace: good.

Adam: Okay.

Taleah, so that's who I'm
trying to find inside this

dome.

Is it just her in the dome,
like, just by herself or?

Grace: No.

So you actually see a small
building inside of this dome.

Oh, okay.

Cool.

Only maybe, 20 feet on any given side.

… But this looks to be what had previously
been the temple here, that this dome has

been constructed around and over top of.

Okay.

And you said obsidian?

Adam: And

Grace: the dome is, yes,
the building is just…

You're…

matches the rest of the sort of
construction of the buildings here, which

is- Okay … you guys were really making
fun of it last time, which it didn't

even give me the chance to describe it.

It's all fairly well aged,
but it is pretty, like- Okay

fine construction.

Very well-crafted.

Yeah Just some- Yeah … a lot of
these buildings have been around for

possibly hundreds of years, like as
long as this town has existed, which

is- … as long as this, realm has
existed- Oh, yeah … for the most part.

Adam: That they take pride in their

Grace: work-

Adam: That they've done.

Grace: Yes.

And it's a lot of this was a perfect
building when it was constructed,

and they've just- … left it with as
few modifications as possible out of

respect for those original crafters.

Adam: Gotcha.

All right.

So

Grace: they're very craft- So a lot of
those things are a little bit on the

humble side and a little bit run down,
but it is still very well constructed.

Adam: Yeah.

We're appreciating- yeah … the
artwork that they've done through.

Grace: Yes.

And you see- Okay … this one
looks like probably just a single

room sort of temple, and then off
to the side what you presume are

classically quarters for whatever
priest or priestess is residing here.

And a light on in the central building.

Adam: Okay.

I'm gonna sit around and
appreciate the construction.

And he's looking up into the dome
and seeing how high it goes, and then

he's appreciating the building itself,
and he's gonna walk into the temple.

He gives it as much respect as he can,
and then he's gonna walk where the

light is and try to announce himself.

He's gonna say, "Equity for the meek
with perseverance and strength."

Grace: Yeah.

So as you are entering this little
temple space, you see it is a very

common design for non-deity specific
temples, which is on three sides.

It has three little str- like
shrines on each side dedicated

to each of the gods equally.

And in the middle there is a large table
with a number of seats at which a woman

of what looks to be Aasimar ancestry
accompanied by a half-elf man, and

they're just sitting and talking and
have some papers laid out before them and

all this, and they look up as you enter
and are just kinda "All right, cool."

And they don't really give
you a lot of attention.

They are "Yeah, neat," and then more or
less go back to what they were working on.

You have the sense that they
assume you're here for the temple

and not necessarily for them.

Adam: Certainly.

I will go I will announce my presence
after that and just say is it…

It's Talaea, right?

Yeah, okay.

I just wanted to make sure
I say the right name there.

Yep … Talaea, I bring good
news from the shores of Tideswell

Grace: Yeah, this ASMR woman,
she stands and is "Very well.

Speak in a form of of information."

The

Adam: dawn…

Certainly.

The dawn does not set
on Tideswell so easy.

Therefore, the light shineth
within Tideswell's people

Grace: Good sir, there's no need
for such formal language here.

You can speak freely.

I promise.

Adam: Certainly.

So- I come from the Tideswellians
out there, and I am a cleric

of Pelor blessed be his name.

He-- I can feel his warmth just as
close to me inside of my own shell

I have brought gifts from Tideswell
to be made by this tailor in town.

Wonderful craftsman, by the way.

Finest, finest fabrics you have here.

Wonderful town, by the way.

I would like to offer these sashes
for your followers of Pelor so we all

can get acquainted with one another.

And they're meant to go around your neck.

You see I have one, and they're like
a, a symbol of rebellious nature, but

most people would just assume that the
tailor in town made it for such things

as beauty, as he is trying to make
them, as the new kids call, trendy.

But for us, it's a secret
language that we can use.

Look how beautiful that this
is, and he has specifically…

I- I was specifically requested
to help you help yourselves

with what you are trying to do.

I know about the mechanism as
well as every and the jewels

that are required to resummon the
light of Pelor within this dome.

I am here to assist in any way,
but I would believe it'd be easier

if we could know who to trust and
who not to as we come from afar.

And he's gonna hand over
the 20 sashes to her.

Grace: So thank you.

This is a very generous gift.

I must admit, not all of my followers
are themselves followers of Pelor,

but I will be happy to distribute
these to those who share our faith.

I was not aware of much of a presence
of a following of Pelor in Tideswell.

That is very encouraging to hear.

Is this a recent development?

My husband, and she gestures to the
gentleman behind her and says, "He is

himself hails from Tideswell and had no

knowledge of this.

We we in the Lamors thought
that we were alone."

Oh, no.

Do

Adam: you, have you a- ever ate a
cumber patch cookie from Tideswell?

It- 10 out of 10.

The best cookie.

Grace: The, this half-elf man behind her
stands up and goes, "Indeed, they're one

of our favorite delicacies in my family.

That's well to hear that they're still
in good business- Oh, yes … and

still making just as fine of pastries
and confectionaries and such."

Adam: Oh, certainly, yes.

I have traveled through Tideswell.

I, of course, being this tortle
as you-- or a turtle as you would

may say in your own languages.

I come from a little
further out than most.

I stick mainly to the shores.

But I come from a far off island that I
had to during a bad storm, I lost my way.

And by the light of d- of dawn, I was
saved by Pelor himself, I believe.

Not for sure, but I could feel his
warmth within me and restore my strength.

And the next thing I know, I washed
up on the shores of Tideswell, and

all I could do was thank the sun for
being and giving me light and life

Grace: Right, indeed.

He gives many gifts, as I have
found throughout my lifetime.

I'm afraid we're somewhat
busy at the moment.

I will be happy to distribute these at the
earliest convenience, but we're just- Oh,

Adam: certainly

… Grace: analyzing some plans here.

If you are- Yeah … welcome to-
No, I totally get that … situate

yourself within our little
home that we've made here.

We have plenty of tents, food, clothing
for anyone who needs any, although

you seem to be a man of some neat some
means, and I imagine you have much

to offer our little community here.

Oh, certainly.

Happy to have you.

I have enjoyed it.

I wasn't notified of any more arrivals
in the past few days, but that's…

To hear that we're still
attracting some new faces.

Adam: Yes.

If we could be of any service
to you, let me know personally.

I look forward to your plan going
through as well as going forth and

feeling the light of Pelor once more.

And then he's going to s- and he'll
go off and he's "If you could just

distribute those today, that'd be great."

10 out of 10.

Would be great.

And he's gonna roll a persuasion for that.

And- Oh, go for it … that is a

17 plus five.

Grace: Okay.

I'm gonna go ahead and roll some insight.

It's a 17 Do you

Adam: want me to roll against…

Okay.

Grace: No, that's fine.

I, oh, okay.

The, you've played this off
very well, so I won't need any

sort of deception or anything.

But- Oh … she seems to be
convinced of your good intentions.

Adam: Certainly.

And I'll put on a sash myself u-
under my ascot and he's gonna he's

gonna leave it at that and says, "With
Pelor's gift, I will carry it into

the darkness as the sun never sets."

And he will bid them adieu with that,
and he'll walk back out of the temple.

And I'm assuming he sees the three of
them off into the distance poorly hiding.

Grace: Yeah, probably

Adam: All right.

And then I'll come up to
them and be like, "Ah, I see.

I can't get any peace around here.

I guess I have to go back
into my shell for that one."

Kaleb: And Pel's just gonna
speak up and say, "My man, you…

Again, we're all on the
same side, and you gotta…

You are just giving off
all sorts of creepy vibes.

You gotta clue us in on what you're doing.

I, I, again-" I

Adam: was just simply…

You watched me from the final draft
walk into the tailor's, come out

with some cloaks and some sashes, and
now all I have is cloaks in my hand.

What do you think I did?

I was giving a gift to
Talia in the black dome.

Kaleb: And were you planning on sharing
what was inside that black dome?

Adam: Yeah, it's just a nice temple
f- It's like a p- it's like a

pantheon of all the old gods in there.

There's nothing special about it.

They're sitting there with some drafts
of what I'm assuming what you…

they're building as jewels and stuff.

I'm sure they're trying to, put it
all together and come up with a game

plan of how they're gonna do this.

What more information do you need?

He, he-

Yeah.

You can roll an insight against me.

Go right ahead if you wanna
roll an insight against me.

Zac: Don't mind if I do.

Yeah.

I think I actually-
Yeah, I'm gonna have to.

I am

Adam: plus nine insight.

Skyy: Wow.

Kaleb: Yeah.

Zac: But can your plus
nine beat a natural one?

Grace: Oh, for sure.

Kaleb: I

Grace: fear.

Kaleb: I mean-

Grace: Yeah, that's how that works

Kaleb: I had a 16.

Adam: I will say my wisdom is 20,

Grace: Period.

Adam: So you believe me when I
tell them I'm giving gifts and

they're planting something in there.

Kaleb: Cool.

Cool,

Grace: Cool.

Adam: I may be creepy- … but I am there-
For you guys … I never claimed to not be

creepy, okay?

Yeah.

Grace: At this point, Telea emerge from
the dome, and she has this bundle of cloth

that you've given her, and she hands it
off to one of the two little sentries that

are posted here at the front of the dome.

And are you guys, Have
you stepped away at all?

Are you still just standing out
where you could potentially be seen?

Or have you tried to hide
yourselves in any way?

There's not any specific "You should
be hiding right now," but just

what have you done with yourselves

Kaleb: in this moment?

It would be weird, it would
be weird for us not to,

Adam: Not to hide, like
just be out in the open?

Kaleb: Yeah,

Adam: just- Just I

Kaleb: think we're

Adam: just gonna be out in the open.

And I think- Yeah.

Yeah … I think if my…

If I could roll a perception to catch them
walking out before they do, that, I think

that'd be great if I could do that- Sure.

Okay … prior to them walking out.

Okay, so

Grace: it's at least be, like, 12.

Adam: 12?

Okay.

'Cause it is, that was 12 … somewhat
against, I think it's an 18 flight.

I get a natty 12.

I rolled a seven.

Yeah.

Cool.

I see out of the corner of my tortle
eye them emerge from the shadows,

and obviously they're walking out.

And I'm quickly gonna take off the sash
itself that I have on and be handing

it over to Molrath at this moment

Grace: Okay.

The rest of you, if you want to roll
stealth checks, if you'd like to

intentionally be stealthy in this
moment, or we can treat it like a passive

check where you just do bonus plus 10.

Zac: Cool.

I gotcha.

Give me s- give me five seconds.

Stealth.

Kaleb: Yeah.

Zac: That is a 21.

Grace: Nice.

Kaleb: That's a 12 for me.

Skyy: 20.

Grace: All right.

Skyy: With disadvantage

Kaleb: Oh,

Skyy: wait.

Kaleb: So kidding just kidding.

That's a 16 for me.

Forgot to roll with advantage.

That's a 16.

Oh,

Grace: Actually Sky, you have your
little solo mission bonus now, so that

would cancel out the disadvantage.

Skyy: 21, because I rolled a 14 and a 15.

21 gang.

Adam: That's

Skyy: right

Adam: All

Grace: right Adam, did you roll?

Adam: I'm just gonna be seen.

I don't wanna be sneaky.

Grace: Okay, cool.

Her passive perception is 19.

She does spot Kel and Avaan and doesn't
seem to do anything, just you see

her kind of tilt her head a bit and
just make a little mental note, and

then she retreats back into the dome.

Adam: Yeah.

At that moment she would see
me handing the scarf over.

During that, since I wanna
be seen, it's just like-

… Just as a goodwill gesture, and
I'm sure Mel's just gonna take

it, or Kel's gonna take it.

Kaleb: Yeah.

I would've had, I would've probably tried
to pull my hood up a little bit, but

then I would've absolutely just taken it.

Adam: Nice.

Do I see the guards run skippering off
with the sashes, or what are they doing?

Just one of them does.

Just one of them does?

Perfect.

Perfect.

Perfect.

Grace: And yeah, they go off
to the gate, and you presume

to the little tent city beyond.

Adam: Nice.

That's what I want.

That's what I want.

I'll clue you in what I'm trying
to do in a minute, Grace, after

this just so you're- Awesome

so you're looped in without the
rest of them being looped in.

I assume there's some sort of

scheme

Kaleb: happening.

Great.

I love to hear that.

I love to hear that.

On that note, I am
gonna have to peace out.

I put in the chat, if you guys wanna
keep recording, I'm 100% down with

that, and you guys can just let me know.

We can just say that Kel- Yeah, I'll

Grace: just say

… Kaleb: went and has been off and like-

Skyy: I only

Kaleb: have one thing I want

Grace: to- it's not the worst
stopping point, but I know this

is a little tiny bit shorter than
what we normally do, but it's up to

Kaleb: Adam.

That's what I was gonna say.

We can- Yeah … like we can
just say that Kel went off to

the, the final draft- All right

if you guys wanna keep.

Adam: Are you, do you feel like your
character's story just getting that

right now is done until later in the day?

Kaleb: Yeah.

Yeah, 'cause like- Okay … really
Kel's big goal for the day was to

get information on the- Information.

Yeah … the vessel.

Like he did that, and really it was,
the rest of it was just causing chaos.

That was my goal the
rest of the day, cool.

All right, so if you folks- Yeah,
there wasn't anything else I needed

Adam: to do.

Yeah, so we can just keep on.

I've done my task for the couple
hours that I needed to do.

But if y'all two down below need to
do your thing, since someone sat on a

grassy knoll looking out at the city-

That'll be fine.

Today I saw a

Zac: balloon.

Yeah.

'Cause I've got nothing really
planned except for the- I

don't see anything too dramatic

Grace: happening for like the rest of
this- In the next- … couple- 20 minutes

Adam: or so

… Grace: like in fiction hours.

… So I don't think it would be too terrible
if we just keep going until we get to the-

Zac: You froze out.

That's the end of it, folks.

Never mind.

Adam: I froze out.

Try this.

Grace- Oh, hold on … if you can

hear us, you froze on
our screen, just FYI.

Yeah.

There we go.

Oh,

Kaleb: and oh, there we go.

Adam: Yep.

All right.

Yeah we want you back.

Kaleb: Grace.

Still,

Adam: still can't hear
you if you join, just FYI.

Kaleb: Grace died.

I still feel like I can hear her voice.

Adam: I- "Quit telling
everybody I'm dead."

Now I can hear you.

You're good.

"Quit telling everybody I'm

Grace: dead."

There it goes.

Yeah.

Oh my gosh.

There we

Kaleb: go.

It

Grace: keeps doing that.

Adam: No, you're all good.

Grace: I feel like I can't- It's all good

get through a full session without
it- … freezing out at some point.

It's

Kaleb: almost like- All

Adam: right

… Kaleb: a good

Grace: luck

Kaleb: charm at this point.

Grace: Okay.

Adam: All right, Caleb if you
wanna dip, that'll be fine.

And then- Hey, brother.

Yeah … if anything crazy
happens, we can catch up with that,

Kaleb: Okay.

Cool.

All right, guys.

Adam: Bye, Caleb.

Have

Kaleb: a good night.

Skyy: Bye.

See

Adam: you later.

Night.

All right.

I think Sky had something
to do, or wanted to

Skyy: do Yeah, I just w- I wanna read
the notes that I stole off the dead man.

I wanna know who the spy is.

Oh, okay.

That's all I care about.

Grace: Yeah.

So you look at these two pieces of paper.

They speak of a tiefling living within
The Pious, who has been spotted sending

a few messages that when finagled
into his hands, he got used some

power to

read basically.

None of this practices was a politician,
small town, he does what he wants.

And so it is a tiefling
by the name of Val-

Adam: Oh.

Val.

Val what?

Grace: Is, and identified as an informant.

Adam: Say that name again, it cut out.

Grace: Valkyrie.

Valkyrie.

Valkyrie.

Zac: Valkyrie.

Val

Adam: Curry.

Zac: Val Curry.

Skyy: I was betting money it was
gonna be the guy you're looking for.

Adam: No, I was gonna…

It'd be really funny if it was a tortle
creature, and I'm just nailing tortle.

Zac: Dude, I would've been
like, "Yep, there we are.

That makes sense."

Adam: Kill him.

Turtle stew.

Grace: It's actually Ferrison again.

All roads lead to Ferrison.

I

Zac: thought it was crazy, really.

Question.

So this is a spy for- Us … the
Reverand- For Malachur

or Malachur?

Grace: For you guys.

This

Zac: is Malachur's

Grace: spy that was reporting to Abby.

That has been reporting back
on the town and The Pious.

Adam: Molray's got like a whole he
pulls up a whole board behind him

with red dots pointed to Ferrison.

Just there.

It's there.

That's what he's been doing all

day.

No, he's been crocheting
all day, from what I hear.

He took up crocheting.

I say that as a, my tortle
creature to you, Molray.

Zac: I do not have time
for your incompetence

nor your petty remarks.

I need to go find my sword.

I am tired of all of you, to be honest.

I know Cal went back to the inn.

I am going to find my man.

He's gonna walk off to go-
He wants to take a nap.

He's

Grace: been up forever this morning.

He's a sleepy boy.

Adam: Ferrison.

Zac: That's great.

I am gonna actually go find Ferrison now.

Adam: I'm gonna look at Nell and be
like, "You wanna follow him just like

y'all followed me in a sneaky fashion?"

Skyy: Seems like a fair deal.

Adam: I will say that I am a
large tortle creature, and my

stealth skills are quite good.

I can look like a rock at any moment.

Skyy: I have a plus six,
so I'm pretty good too.

Adam: Oh, awesome.

Perfect.

You hide behind my rock.

Skyy: Yeah.

We'll be good.

Zac: So

Adam: I'm

Zac: 90% sure he's not gonna be out
of range where he doesn't hear y'all.

And he's gonna turn around,
he's gonna say, "Unlike you,

motherfucker, I have nothing to hide."

And just continue walking.

Adam: All right.

Fair enough.

Let's go.

Move

on.

Zac: Yeah.

I'll

Adam: go back to that little- but
we're not gonna catch up to him, Grace.

No.

We're gonna walk at a weird distance away.

Just awkwardly.

Like just be behind him.

Got it.

Oh, yeah.

Just…

And then any time he stops looking
for directions, like we're stopping.

And we're just gonna

Grace: say something funny.

Exactly.

Pretend you're laughing.

Pretend you're laughing.

Yeah.

So you're heading back to
your little spot on the grass?

Adam: He's making his way downtown.

Zac: I am.

I'm going back to my spot on the grass.

Why did I get kicked out?

There we go.

Grace: Oh.

Ruh-roh.

You make your way back out the
gates to out in front of the city.

And at this point there
are a, a decent number.

They've about re-upped to their normal
numbers over at this guard post.

And Ferrison having what looks to be
a very hushed, intense conversation

with some of the guards here.

Not exactly in the spot that you
decided upon, but near enough that

you're like, "Ah, it's my boy.

He back."

Zac: Malakar's gonna walk up
and then he's gonna call out.

He's gonna, "Oh-" Malakar "… Captain…"

Oh, shit.

Morath.

Damn, the M names.

Grace: You did this to yourself.

Zac: I've done this to myself.

You wrote the lore.

I wrote the lore and I've messed up.

Okay Morath is going to- … walk
up and say, "Ah, Captain

Farrison, my dear friend.

I presume you have my gift."

Grace: Yeah.

He very quickly tows you away from the
rest of these guards, and he almost

haphazardly just takes out this little
bundle looks like a long sword that

has been hastily wrapped in cloth and
stuff, and is just "Yeah, I'm busy.

Can you just, I can't
really talk right now.

Can you…

Here, can you come back later?"

Zac: No, I cannot.

Why are you so concerned right now?

Grace: I don't know.

Maybe the 200% increase in crime in my
town that I'm responsible for keeping safe

Zac: And that has you
on edge, such as this.

Do tell, what crime has there been?

Grace: Early this morning, they
found someone drowned in the river.

So drowned, submerged in the
river, but apparently not killed by

drowning, by stabbing it would seem.

And now we've got one of our
ministers killed in his office

with a witness d- that one.

Just tricks-

Zac: Oh … him out.

And- Oh, what a coincidence.

That is quite odd.

Grace: He's like, "It's been over 10
years since we've had any murders in

this town- … and suddenly you show up,
and now we've had two in the same day."

Adam: What

Grace: was the description of the killer?

So

Adam: yeah, I'm on the law edge.

What was the description of the killer?

Zac: Yes, do tell.

Who was the killer?

Adam: We wanna find him just
as much as you do, and I'm

worried for my life over here.

Who might have done it?

I'm worried for my life.

They want tortle stew.

The…

I'm worried about that.

Grace: Some guy with a mask
and, like, all muscular.

I don't know.

Adam: Really?

A

Grace: mask?

That's crazy.

It would, help if we had a few more
weapons in our register to compare

the wounds with, but a few- Gosh

select people have decided to forego
that particular part of our process.

Oh.

And it has slowed things down.

Now- he's gonna- … I have made
certain agreements and certain promises.

Now, if you would like to keep me out
of your business, which I assume you do-

Zac: Well-

… Grace: then you'll back
up and leave me alone.

Zac: Yeah.

I have one

Grace: more- I got a
question for you, Farison Or

Adam: I

Grace: shall start poking around
where you don't want me to.

Zac: Yes.

Okay, fair.

But I have one question, and then my
tortle companion, friend, whatever

the hell he is, has one as, as well.

Do you have any leads on the
murder suspect in the river?

Or the victim, excuse me.

Grace: Yeah.

Unfortunately, rivers have a distinct
way of keeping evidence a bit-

Adam: Yep

… Grace: murky, as it were.

Adam: Exactly.

I know exa- know

Zac: all about that So- So we have
someone who's quite acquainted

with the river in a party.

Adam: Technically, I'm a sea turtle,
but I can do whatever you need me to.

Zac: And I'll dip out
and let him do his thing.

Adam: So Faris- what is
Farison's race again?

Grace: He's a tiefling.

Adam: Tie- Okay.

Grace: Yeah.

No relation to the other one that

Adam: I just mentioned.

I was about to say.

I'm telling you.

Who would have

Grace: thought?

Not, I promise, it is not.

Adam: What's the- just happened to
line up … what what was the wounds

on the dead person in the civic center?

Grace: Oh, in the town hall?

Adam: Yeah.

What was it?

It definitely wasn't these claws, was it?

I have a tendency to sleepwalk
sometimes, and then people get ripped

open by these meaty tortle claws.

Grace: That one was definitely
with a blade, and also

happens- Okay … this morning.

So not really a case of sleepwalking,

Adam: The, I was hibernating.

I hibernate longer than, than most.

I hibernate longer than most, so I
could've got up and done some damage.

I've known, I've been known to do
that on occasion, so I just wanna

make sure that it clears myself

Grace: He turns to Mal
and is "Was it him?"

Adam: Was it him?

Skyy: N-no, it w- it wasn't
my tortle friend here.

He's too, much too large

Grace: Okay,

there, see?

Oh, okay.

I promised you lots

Adam: of- Just, okay.

Just wanna make sure, it's strange

Zac: that I'm- Leave him
alone, we've got things to do.

Adam: You wanted a sword from him.

Maybe

Zac: I want something out of this.

No, lo- oh, Jesus.

Okay.

All right.

Whatever, man.

That's not one of the gods
of the pantheon, don't worry.

Adam: Would you j- just humor me
for a second there, Fa- Phaerson.

Are you acquainted with
this, this symbol here?

And he pulls out of his bag
and he shows a Pelor symbol

Grace: Oh, sure

Adam: Yeah,

Grace: but are you- that's
one of the gods, right?

Adam: Yeah but do you do the things to
him or do you follow some, some other…

Grace: I don't, we don't follow
any sort of particular god.

This feels like entrapment.

Are you trying to get me to…

Okay.

No, I'm just asking.

I'm just- Listen, I don't
have any ill will towards what

you all are up to.

Okay.

All right.

I just, it's, I just wanna- We don't
really affiliate with the gods yet.

Trust me, our temple was, like, fully
neglected before Thalleous showed up.

Honestly, he's done the best work for, in
the religious sense in this town in years.

Adam: You know the tailor-

Grace: You really can't go
around asking people that.

Adam: Yeah I, I gotta keep myself to
make sure that I know what's going on.

The tailor has given me a
wonderful scarf beautifully done.

Fine craftsmanship.

Probably the best I've seen.

And I have plenty of them,
and I can always request more.

So I just, as a goodwill towards our
group, nefarious things are afoot.

I just wanna make sure you're okay, and
as a gift, here's here's one of your…

Here's one of my scarfs
that I could get you.

Sash.

Or sash.

Sorry.

Scarf, sash, sorry.

Grace: Listen, I said sash.

To, for, You said ascot.

Eh, it's somewhere in that table.

Ascot, sash.

Some-

… Adam: Something to go around the neck.

Grace: Not what sashes do, but okay.

Adam: Sashes is like the
whole sash thing, but-

Grace: Right around the
side or around the middle.

Yeah.

Yeah, anyways.

Adam: One of those things

… Grace: okay.

Thanks,

Adam: yeah, no problem.

No problem.

I just s- ba…

May the light shine upon you, Phaerson.

And if we see anything afoot, and he
looks at Morath, we'll let you know

Grace: Okay.

Are we done here?

I need to get back to my,
ongoing criminal investigation

Adam: It was a tortle joke, 'cause
turtles, tortles don't have, feet, they

have claws, all right, I'll see myself out

I guess we're just walking
back to down, in, into town.

Zac: Sorry, had to run to
the restroom real quick.

Grace: Apologize.

That's all right.

We just concluded this
little conversation.

We did.

And now we're headed back
to town, it would seem.

Adam: Unless you wanna go
somewhere else, Mole Breath.

Zac: Nope.

Going back to town.

Adam: Who died, by the
way, in town, in the river?

Grace: You didn't ask?

We haven't

Zac: asked that.

Adam: We haven't.

Oh, it's just a, just…

Oh, okay.

I don't wanna lie.

Probably a tea thing.

Sometimes you don't get
to just know things.

Oh, no.

I didn't know if the party had asked
that already, 'cause I came in-

No … I hibernated a little more,
so I didn't know if the party knew

about the person in the river yet.

Grace: No.

So go ahead

Adam: and play it off that
you asked and didn't remember.

Grace: I think you've been present
for any time that's been mentioned.

Adam: All right, fair enough.

Can we go to the morgue?

Skyy: Can we go to the morgue?

Grace: Not really a morgue, but
there's certain- I don't know.

Adam: I don't know what this town has.

Does it have a morgue?

Grace: So they actually keep any bodies,
which are a very rare occurrence,

but they keep them down in some mines
down past the southern part of town.

There's there's sort of a hill that goes
over that direction, and there are some

mines that have been dug down, and it
keeps things cool enough that they store

any bodies there before they bury them.

Which, with all that's been
happening, is not too hard to

ask around and find that out.

Adam: Okay.

Cool.

Cool.

Yeah.

Let's, Let's go ahead and go that way then

If that works for you.

And if anything happens
along the way, let us know

Grace: Sure.

Yeah, you make your way down to the
southern tip of town, and you There's

a much smaller gate that is not locked,
but just left closed in, at this end of

town, and you can easily go through it.

You see a couple look like herbalists,
a couple of druids who are gathered

around this spot just quietly chatting.

And it would seem that this is
where the bodies are being kept.

Are you going fully down into the
mines or just checking out this area?

Adam: Let me roll to check out the
area, the mines and the, and that hole.

Grace: Sure.

Give me perception,

Adam: okay.

Give me two seconds, I can do that.

That is 13 13 Yeah

Grace: yeah, this is a

This is a, it appears to be a fairly
older, well-established mine system

that has been constructed here.

There's only one entrance and it looks
like it has been arcanely carved.

So the edges are very clean and
it's a very clear ah, yes, this

was a five-foot, area of effect.

And they don't look very extensive.

Just from the top, you see
basically just one tunnel ki- that

kind of curves down and around.

Are you, again, entering or just
getting the general lay of the land?

Adam: I'll enter.

I wanna see the body at this point.

Grace: Okay.

Yeah.

So you go, and it kind of winds
down and it's stone all around.

Again, that just pristine, arcanely carved
some divots here and there where little

bits have been cleared out, possibly where
some precious gemstones have manifested.

There…

You get just a vague sense of,
again, that forge was, where

there's just a, a almost smell of
magic that has been performed here.

And you enter into this large chamber
where junks of stone in various

sections have been transmuted into
different types of rare metals

and gems and all these things.

And it's basically just one single mine
for everything that they could possibly

need that is- Yeah … magically produced
here in this, very mineral-rich area

where it's very easy to change things
and shape things and all that stuff.

Yeah … but in the safety of it
being contained away from the village.

And there are a few stone
workspaces where you can see

some stone carving has occurred.

And these have been cleared off, and there
are these two bodies placed on pretty much

right next to each other, on these just
stone slabs that have been workbenches.

Adam: Are y'all following me into this?

Okay.

I

Grace: presume.

Adam: Okay.

I'm a solo loner sometimes.

Grace: Hey, I get it.

Y'all split up a lot.

Adam: Ugh.

Yes, we do.

All right.

I will roll medicine, if you want
me to check out the drowned body.

Grace: Yeah, go for it.

Adam: Okay.

That's an 18.

Grace: An 18.

Oh my gosh, I should have had this pulled
up to see what is the race of this person?

Da da

Hello.

Where did I put my notes for this part?

There it is.

So you see a human man.

The…

There is quite a bit of bruising.

A chipped nail some sign
of a struggle that probably

occurred briefly before death.

And then the most likely cause
of death is pretty obvious.

It looks like their throat has been slit.

And then it has also…

It's pretty much been washed clean.

There is almost no blood present
in this wound as it is very

waterlogged, slightly bloated.

It's gross.

Ugh.

There's Even still, the, the clothes
are a bit damp slightly torn.

There's bits of algae
clinging to some parts of it.

So yeah.

That is what your medicine check gets you.

Adam: Okay

Zac: Can I search the body to see if
I find anything on the body of import?

Grace: Yeah.

Zac: That might be authorities missed

… Grace: give me an
investigation check as you-

Zac: Sure

… Grace: search their pockets.

Zac: That's not gonna do shit.

That is a seven.

Grace: A seven.

Yeah, you don't really…

You you just search and it's it's got…

And then you find a a, a coin
pouch that has about 10 gold

pieces in it, a handful of silver.

There's yeah, it's very basic,
just the standard belongings

that you'd expect to find.

There's a few things missing, like
most people carry a utility knife that

he doesn't have, that kind of thing.

Or you can see a tan line from a
bracelet that has presumably slipped

off in the water, that kind of thing.

There are a few things- … that
you're like, ah, if this guy

was tossed into a river, some
things are probably missing here.

Adam: Can I stick one of my
documents inside the other

guy's, the one that Mel killed?

Can I stick it inside one of his pockets?

Grace: Yeah.

Are you trying to be

sneaky about this at all or just going

Adam: for it?

No, I'm just gonna do
it, just gonna go for it.

Grace: You do that

Zac: Oh, what are you doing

Grace: there?

Two of four, I believe.

Adam: Oh I have these notes
that I have to run around and

hide in places- What did I say?

… for people to find.

Zac: Yeah, what,

Adam: what is

Zac: up?

Adam: Oh, it's just the,
thwart off, enemies.

Kinda suspects them as
the enemy inside the town

Zac: Yeah, I don't trust that.

I'm gonna look at it.

Adam: Okay, that's

Zac: fine.

I'm gonna look, I'm
gonna look at the note.

What does the note say?

What's

Grace: the note say?

Yeah.

You see a document basically
laying out this resistance plan

of we're gonna kill this guy,
overthrow this, little government.

All of like these things here in Lacefield
that appear to be, quote, plans for the

resistance to take control of this town.

Adam: Or their forge.

Grace: Is that obvious?

Adam: Depending on the document,
where they find it, with who

Zac: Okay, so I'm seeing basically-

Adam: But to us it should be…

Like, like to us, the way you explained
it is like to us that they're fake plans.

Grace: You know they're fake.

Adam: Yeah.

Zac: Yeah, I don't know that.

That's above

Adam: me.

Oh, okay.

I could…

i'll just tell him that they're fake.

You can make- Yeah, you
can make an insight check.

They're fake plans, dude.

Skyy: Dude, they're fake plans.

You gotta trust me, man.

Adam: Trust me, bro.

It's not

Skyy: real, man.

It's just oregano.

Adam: You can roll- I'm

Zac: just, I'm just saying, listen to me.

Listen, you've gotta
understand how this looks.

I have nothing to hide.

You are secretive towards us,
doing some secretive thing.

And then you're putting notes
in here saying the resistance,

basically our main op- … is
going to take control of this town.

How this looks, right?

Adam: Yeah

Zac: Call it what you think.

Skyy: My brother ain't here,
but I can tell you that this

is highly suspect, I think

Adam: is what my brother would say.

It can be suspect, but I was tasked with
putting fake documents in places for

people to find, so that way- By who?

By Malakar's forces.

Zac: And it's real funny, Malakar
didn't tell me anything about that.

Malak-

Grace: Mal, what

Adam: are you talking?

Sorry, sorry your BFF didn't tell
you about everything that's going on.

It

Zac: seems a little a little

Adam: off.

You can talk to him
when we get back, okay?

It'll be okay.

You, y- it's okay to feel that inside, we
all- Listen- … we all hurt at some point

… Zac: I will not able to listen to your
condescending tongue much longer, turtle.

I will send you back to the
river with your friend here.

Adam: I can breathe underwater, so I'm

Zac: not really too worried about that.

I meant be you'd be dead.

You would be dead.

I would send you in the
river as a dead person.

Good luck, buddy.

Adam: Good luck.

Zac: Ah.

You know what?

Look, I'm not here to have a pissing
contest with you, turtle man.

Adam: I would win that as well, but okay.

Zac: Oh.

Oh my God.

Master

Grace: bladder.

Everyone knows, Turtle.

Adam: Congrats.

Zac: We have a master pisser here.

Adam: Anyways, I'm gonna
stick that document while

he's condescending tone on me.

I'm gonna turn to the other one,
and I'm gonna cast Raise Dead

Okay.

What the fuck?

The one

that I killed?

No.

Not the one that you killed.

Oh, okay.

The other one.

The other body.

I was like, no.

I'm not gonna do that guy.

Got it.

Got it.

I'm gonna do it on the other guy.

Okay, cool.

Now Gr- now Grace, you can decide
because the way Raise Dead works is not

like Revivify 'cause it's necromancy,
so they have some caveats to this.

So I will read to you the caveats.

So I can return a dead creature
you touched alive- … provided

that it has been dead no longer
than 10 days, which I presume.

And then if the creature's soul
is both willing and at liberty

to rejoin the body, the creature
returns to life with one hit point

Yeah

So if that guy has some unfinished
business on this earth, then

that's kinda how I read it.

But that's totally up to you.

Yeah, absolutely.

If you can tell me if it
doesn't work, that's fine.

Like- Can

Zac: he

Adam: get hit points back

… Zac: I'm not gonna be hurt by that.

Can he heal?

I mean-

Adam: You can heal him afterwards, yeah.

Zac: So like it could
basically be revivified.

Adam: Yeah.

Yeah.

It just, it, the DM has to choose…

They don't really explain this very well,
but the DM gets to choose if this person's

soul is lo- a lost soul, kind of thing.

Oh, I like it.

Grace: And they have to be
willing, And those come from

pretty hefty penalties on rolls.

Yeah

Adam: So whatever you need.

I'm r- I'm willing to try it.

I, up to you.

I just thought this would
add in some fun stuff.

Oh, Lord.

Grace: Absolutely.

Yeah.

You start casting this spell.

The casting time is an hour.

Adam: Yep.

Grace: Okay.

So an hour later, unless any of our
allies here have anything to say about it

Adam: this

Grace: guy-

Adam: Unless someone walks in.

Do you want somebody to walk in-
Okay … while I'm doing this?

It's up to you.

I'm

Grace: going to-

Adam: I, it's your story.

I just,

Grace: you

know.

It would be funny.

Okay.

Oh no, I'm back.

That's okay, I have another one.

We'll say- What is the

Zac: point of this?

Adam: I can't talk right now, I'm casting

Zac: a spell I can't talk
to you right now, man

Adam: The hold.

You get the Cisco hold music.

Zac: I'm gonna look

Grace: at Calum and be
like, "What the fuck?"

Shut up.

We'll say on a roll of 12 or
higher, someone will walk in.

Adam: Okay.

Grace: That's nat 20.

Adam: Nice.

Perfect.

Grace: While- Who

Adam: walks in?

Who walks

Grace: in?

It's Ferris.

… and listing NPCs.

Who would come here?

Oh.

I know who's gonna show

Adam: up.

This is gonna be good.

Grace: I love this.

A tabaxi woman walks in.

Adam: Oh, okay.

Grace: And let's see.

Yes.

Adam: Have we met a tabaxi yet?

I,

Zac: We have not.

Guess who said his wife is a panther

Grace: then?

Who heard of a tabaxi.

Adam: Oh.

Gotcha.

Gotcha, okay.

Sorry, I didn't catch that.

So I gotcha.

Grace: And

Adam: she just- I'm not
casting it on him, though.

I'm casting it on the
other guy, so just…

Grace: Yeah.

Yeah,

Adam: yeah.

Okay.

Grace: Who's got what looks like a
bundle of various medicinal herbs, some

aromatic stuff like that, and just walks
in, is "Oh I'm not interrupting, am I?"

Zac: No.

No, ma'am, you are not interrupting.

We are trying to get to the
bottom of these murders.

I'm sorry do you know the
deceased man next to us?

Grace: Yes, Ambrose was was my husband.

Just gonna prepare him for burial.

It's it's it's the least I can do,
it's one way of processing, but if you

don't mind, I'm just going to do this.

Do you mind?

What's he doing?

Zac: Oh, yes.

Okay … I'm not sure if- Yes.

Grace: Sorry … casting a
spell in here is really…

there's some- No,
he, … volatile materials.

I would worry about some interference.

Zac: No, I do, I completely
understand there.

See, we were ordained by Captain Ferrerson
to try to figure out these murders,

and to do so, my friend here has some
uncanny dark art skills, which he does

plan on using to resurrect this body
so we can find out who the murderer is

Grace: Right.

Okay.

Yeah, that sounds, oh I would
say delightful, but I don't

think that's quite true.

Zac: Nope.

Grace: I'll just

see to my business here, and you-

Zac: Yes

… Grace: go on ahead with that.

And she- Yes, sir … settles in,
starts getting out some supplies.

She's got like mortar and pestle, some
like incense, that sort of thing, and

s- goes about her business preparing
this guy in whatever way for whatever

burial rites that she has in mind.

Adam: I'm gonna go,

Grace: If you don't let that
interfere, you can conclude

your casting of the spell.

Adam: Oh, for sure.

And throughout the time, they
definitely heard some s- some Mongolian

throat singing in there, like some,
some deep- … guttural coming

from the chest, from the tortle.

Oh,

Grace: yeah.

You get some good resonance when
you've got a magixoskeleton.

Oh, yeah.

Even better in this mostly
stone and metal cavern.

Adam: Yes.

Grace: It rattles the bones a little bit.

Adam: Oh, yeah.

Now y'all feel it in your bones
while I'm raising some bones.

Yeah, so I conclude and go right ahead.

Grace: Yeah, this guy, he…

You see this this jagged wound along his
throat has just slowly been sealing up,

and at the conclusion of the spell, his
chest suddenly heaves, and he is coughing

and spluttering and hacking up a lot of
water as he's- completely waterlogged.

And-

Adam: Yep.

I'm gonna hit Cure Wounds on
him as soon as he wakes up.

Grace: Oh.

Adam: It's my first level spell.

Do you want to know how much
hit points he gets back?

Grace: Unless you're planning on killing
this guy again, it doesn't super matter.

Adam: Okay, that's fine then.

We're good.

Grace: Yeah.

Adam: All right.

And then I'm gonna be
like, "I did my job, guys."

Yeah,

Grace: he's bewildered.

Adam: Welcome, Lazarus.

I did my job.

Y'all two can take it away from here.

Grace: Thank you, my friends.

That was quite unpleasant

So close here If you don't mind
my asking you how I, Where am I?

And also what, what happened here?

I now memory is a bit spotty.

It's difficult to gather
anything Oh, no, it's,

Zac: it's all right.

Listen, you died.

Someone killed you, and
we need to know who.

Oh, yeah.

Yep.

Yep that's about where this lies

Grace: So let me think.

Oh, yes, I remember now.

You saw coming back in
the proverbial flood.

Let me think.

Yeah, I was I was just going for
a stroll along the river and this

man, he attacked me out of nowhere.

He's let me see.

Who…

Damn, I should have prepared this better.

Where is my guy?

This man's wood elf.

I believe his name is Balch.

He just attacked me out of nowhere,
and I am not entirely sure why.

I think he was jealous.

I am quite honored to be a part
of the Taleo's ritual tomorrow.

I think he wanted my place.

In fact, he is the most likely candidate
to have taken my place as a chanter

in the ritual, in the first stage.

Jamose, I am quite late for now.

I am to be getting on with that soon.

As that's all you need from me,
I would very much like to go.

I am going to commit a judicas.

Zac: I'm gonna look at
Kel, and I'm gonna go

he's gonna whisper this nobody
can hear him except for Kelly.

He's gonna say,

"Should we kill this man again or let
him appear as the the town knows he died.

It's gonna be a little, it's gonna
raise a couple eyebrows if he shows

back up and contests his spot or, it
could technically support our cause.

Two people in the same position,
one, he killed this guy for it.

It would be a little bit
of a contested issue.

It might cause some problems."

What are you guys

Adam: talking about over there?

Skyy: Nothing.

Zac: Don't worry about it, turtle man.

We will, we will- I'm just
here … we will fill you in later.

We will fill you in later.

Just trust us.

Anyway, we'll probably

Grace: be on our way now.

Prince Julian is like, "I really,
I do not mean to cause much drama.

I just would like to get back
to my place in the ritual."

Adam: What was your role in the ritual?

" Grace: Oh, I am quite honored to be
one of the chanters for stage one,

for the crafting of the vessel."

Adam: Oh, okay.

Grace: So are you the vessel?

"The vessel, yes.

The-" So they're using you?

No.

Only my imagination, my thoughts and
my mind to form the personality and the

traits of the new god that we shall birth.

It is there's a team of us.

We are to work together to-" Oh.

"… form the perfect image of our perfect
new god to deliver into the world.

I'm not quite sure why
I'm telling you this.

I feel like I trust you inherently
after you have saved my life."

Yeah,

Adam: I revivified you.

I felt the need, I felt the
pull of dawn's light to guide me

towards you and to revive you.

"Oh,

Grace: it's the Holy
Spirit or Angel's Act."

Adam: The Dawn Father will treat

us well in the afterlife for this.

Grace: I certainly hope so.

Zac: I love this little French dude.

He's so funny.

Adam: I spit in your general direction.

Zac: That's what's getting me, man.

Your

Grace: mother was a hamster and
your father smelt of elderberries.

Adam: Oh, that's so good.

Ah.

All right if you wanna go back to…

you're in this cave
here, just make your way

Grace: forward

Adam: and-

Grace: I shall go and speak with Thalea.

I feel like, Yeah … I should
probably remove from- Yeah.

Yeah, just let her know … I

Adam: should

Grace: probably remove from Zethias
and from the ritual in general.

Oh.

I don't quite trust him after he, you
know- Yeah … steals my potions with me.

And Laova is not the best for- Oh
… trying to create something new and pure.

Adam: For sure.

For sure.

All right just when you see Thalea, just
let her know the Tortle man revived you.

That'd be great.

Grace: Of course.

Off your own bangs.

Yoo-hoo.

Adam: Au

revoir.

That was great.

I'm gonna look at the other two
as he's walking out of the cave.

All right, next guy.

You ready?

We,

it is

best that we don't do

that.

I go, "I'm just joshing y'all."

Zac: Is the wife still down
there when you say all this?

Grace: Yes.

Adam: Yeah.

Grace: She's been slowly packing his
wounds with some herbs and very gently,

like, framing his face in flowers,
and even grinding up some into pigment

and then painting some symbols onto
his face and chest and all this,

and just going through this little
personal ritual of hers trying to-

prepare his body for- Yeah … the next

Adam: life.

Yeah.

I'm gonna go walk over to her.

Grace: Bob crying over there.

Adam: Yeah.

I'm walking over to her and I'm gonna look
over and say, "May the Dawn Father carry

his body off to Elysium where he belongs."

Grace: Very kind of you.

I don't think we we had not

sworn allegiance to any particular gods.

I do hope that's…

with all that's going on in
divinity and such, it's difficult

to say what will happen now.

But we can hope for the best.

Adam: Yeah, s-certainly.

Certainly.

If there's anything you need
from us, just let us know.

We're here for you.

Some- I'm currently out of
spell slots … help me.

Yeah, I'm currently out of spell
slots, so I'm real tired after.

Oh, no.

Can't cast it again.

Yeah, can't cast it.

It's gotta, I gotta have a
long rest, I think we'll be

gone before we could get back.

We're truly I am sorry.

Hey, what's that in
his pocket, by the way?

It's certainly not any
of your work, is it?

Grace: Oh, what'd you go in for yours?

We're just gonna move right along.

Adam: Oh I st- I put the
document in her, in his pocket.

The scroll that-

Grace: Gotcha.

Yeah.

Do you want her to find that in this room?

Oh,

Adam: yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

For sure

I got plans.

I got plans

Grace: Sure.

She goes through, is he
carried many documents.

I'm not really certain that…"

And she's like-

Adam: Maybe

Grace: he's referring to you … she's
clearly punked at this moment.

Oh, yeah.

She's not reading this actively

Adam: and listening to you.

Oh, yeah.

No I just thought it may have been
something that he had left you.

Maybe he carried a, a special
note with him that you wrote him.

I didn't know.

Just, take your time with it.

Just, I just was curious

Grace: Yeah, she kind of folds
it up and tucks it into one of

her own pockets and is like-

Adam: Perfect

Grace: "No, maybe later.

If I could just have the room, please?"

Adam: Yeah, certainly.

We'll get out

of here.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to
do the same to your husband.

Barrison just said that we had
to investigate this guy, me being

an aquatic creature of the water.

He just wanted me to
investigate a little further.

I didn't think he actually quite knew
whatever I was capable of maybe next time.

Maybe next time.

But I'll catch you later.

So sorry for your loss

Grace: Thank you.

I appreciate that and thank you for
being honest about your abilities.

Adam: I'm real

Grace: tired right now I'm sure the
town could use any help you could offer.

Adam: Certainly.

Certain.

And then he's gonna walk by her and then
gesture to the other guys like, "Come on.

Let's go.

Tallyho."

Whatever

you, whatever you air creatures say
to leave an awkward conversation

Zac: Why are we following you again?

Adam: There's one way in of
this cave and one way out.

Zac: No, I understand.

I'm just saying

Adam: i'm not following-
I've been following you.

You've been the designated
leader this whole time.

I just was trying to get
us out of this situation.

Zac: Okay.

All right.

All right, Kel.

I

Adam: got us out of the situation.

Zac: Let's go, Kel.

We'll go back to the inn.

Skyy: A- again, my name is Mal Kelly.

It's

Zac: Mal.

Oh yes.

Mal Kel,

Adam: Mal, same thing.

Caramel.

I really like some caramel.

Mal,

Zac: Mal, Malicious.

I see what you did there.

Skyy: Yes let's go.

And Kel

Adam: is kill.

Oh my God, I connected the dots.

Whoa.

Skyy: Whoa.

Adam: My tortle brain is shocked.

Zac: All right.

So I guess we go

Adam: back- Back to the

Zac: final draft.

Final draft

Grace: Yeah, at this point it's getting
to be about, 5:00, 6:00 in the evening.

So there is a, a stew that
has been made and is being

given out to any patrons here.

You can see a few people from around the
town kind of starting to collect and begin

their, evenings just getting a drink,
chatting with friends, that kind of stuff.

It's a new day in fashion … it's
starting to get a little lively in here.

Ah.

Dropping my d20s.

Yeah, you spot

one person- Perfect … in sash

Adam: Beautiful.

My plan is working

… Grace: person somewhere.

Just a human woman

Adam: Okay.

Slash Perfect

My plan is coming together.

I love when the DM doesn't even know
the plan 'cause they're just like

Zac: I can't wait till
the DM shits on your plan.

That's gonna be what's

Adam: funny.

No, it's gonna be a great plan.

10 out of 10.

Zac: Grace, ruin his plan, please.

Grace: I'll do my best.
