Northview Church

You're doing everything right and it still feels like a job.

Serving. Giving. Showing up. And somewhere around 3 a.m.
there's a quiet tally running — am I up or down with God
this week.

Paul has a word for that, and it isn't "faithful."
It's "minor."

In Galatians 3:15–4:7, Paul says the law was a guardian
with an expiration date. Not a failure. A finished job.
And when the date came, you didn't get demoted out of the
house — you got the papers.

Slaves obey to earn. Sons obey to be near.

Same rules. Completely different engine.

Pastor Greg:

So, this week, Christy and I celebrated our thirty year anniversary. Hey, we got better applause in this service than we did in the first. Thirty years, I've gotta say, I have done an awesome job as a husband and the reason I say that is because in thirty years, I have wore her down enough that she has a little bit of Stockholm syndrome and she can almost convincingly tell you how great of a husband that I am. Almost convincingly. But we got to celebrate, had a great time.

Pastor Greg:

We wanted to do a getaway. I mean, it's thirty years, right? So, we wanted to go somewhere and we just couldn't make that work. So, instead, I plan this fantastic, incredibly romantic lunch at a sports bar overlooking cornhole boards, listening to Eminem Blair in the background. But we had a great time.

Pastor Greg:

We got to sit there and just enjoy each other's company and enjoy some seafood together. We took a walk around downtown Sevierville. Let things soak in till we realized we were too full to keep walking. So, we went back to the car. If there were no gifts, There was no production that went into it even thirty years.

Pastor Greg:

We just wanted to be together and it kind of made me think about anniversary number one and how different that was thirty years ago. I know y'all are looking like, there's no way he's old enough to have been married thirty years and I agree. I'm not. Let's continue. Our first anniversary was nothing like this one.

Pastor Greg:

There was a, you know, there's rules that you gotta follow with anniversaries, right? I wanted to be a good husband. I was still trying to figure out how to even be a husband at that point. So, I did what you do. I got flowers for my wife because you get flowers.

Pastor Greg:

I did so great getting those flowers that she told me this week. She didn't even remember I bought her flowers on our first anniversary. I took her out for a day and we just spent some time together on the golf course just enjoying god's beauty. She doesn't play golf. She did drive the cart and she told us in the first service that she enjoyed that part of it.

Pastor Greg:

I played, she drove, and the one thing I did get right, we had dinner at a nice restaurant, enjoyed that. It's actually a restaurant that we returned to to celebrate certain things and almost went to it this year for our thirtieth and ended up going to a different place but that's like the only thing I got right because she doesn't really care about flowers. You're supposed to buy em. I thought but she doesn't, she likes flowers. Don't take me wrong.

Pastor Greg:

I have bought her flowers since then but it's not like a thing for her where I've got to get flowers or she doesn't think I care and like I said, she does not play golf. So, planning that first anniversary, I thought I was doing everything right. But I was really not doing it for her. I was doing it because I was following the rules. You know, you, this is what you do to be a good husband.

Pastor Greg:

Do something fun with your wife, buy her flowers, take her to a nice meal, shower her with attention, all those kind of things. I wasn't doing it for her. I was doing it because I thought that's what you did. I thought that's what you did. I thought that's how you were a good husband and you have probably found yourself in that exact same spot.

Pastor Greg:

Maybe not in your marriage but I would almost guarantee you found yourself there in your faith. Y'all been at at this church, some of you for a few weeks. Some of you been at Northview Church for a year, five years. Some of you have been with us since we opened the doors that very first day in a baseball stadium and tried to figure out how we're going to do church in a bar and you've been here ever since then. And you serve the lord well.

Pastor Greg:

But every week, it's like, how am I doing this week? Is god happy with me? Did I read my Bible enough? Have I prayed enough? Am I serving enough?

Pastor Greg:

Am I doing what god wants me to do? It's that scorecard we've talked about all through this series in Galatians and every week for you, it feels like maybe you're doing everything right and in your faith, maybe you are. But it feels like a job. It feels like exhausting. I've gotta do this or god's not going to be happy with me.

Pastor Greg:

I've gotta do this. I've gotta do this and it's turned into work for you rather than joy for you. Thirty years ago, I bought flowers for a woman who didn't really care about the flowers. Some of you been doing that with god for years Bringing him a gift or an offering that he's not looking for from you. So, let's dig in to the scripture today and and see how he wants us to approach our relationship with him.

Pastor Greg:

In Galatians, we're back in chapter three today. If you have your Bibles, go ahead and open em up to chapter three. It will be on the screen. Bibles under the seats if you need one and we're going to cover the second half of chapter three into chapter four today. In chapter three, we're going to bump down to verse 25 and then we'll come back to the middle here.

Pastor Greg:

In verse 25, it's Paul writes this, and now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. For you are all children of god through faith in Christ Jesus. And because we are his children, God has sent the spirit of his son into our hearts prompting us to call out, Abba, father. Now you are no longer a slave, but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.

Pastor Greg:

You know, in Paul's world as he was writing this, sons had certain rights in the household. A son didn't just get loved by their parents. A son had it all, especially the firstborn son. The firstborn son got the estate. The firstborn son was in charge of the household.

Pastor Greg:

The firstborn son is the one who was responsible for carrying on the family name. And what Paul is saying here is whether you are male or female, woman, man, you have the rights and Christ as the heir as firstborn son. When he talks about the rights of a son, he's talking to you if you are in Christ Jesus. When he talks about an heir, he's talking to you, all of us who follow Jesus. You're not just in the family.

Pastor Greg:

You are heirs to the kingdom. You have the same rights as the firstborn son, legal standing before him. That's you before your God. And that's the pivot in our relationship with God. It should change the whole way that we approach our relationship with God.

Pastor Greg:

It should change how we follow God because Paul says, you are no longer a slave, you are a child, you are a son, you are an heir. And the difference is slaves obey to earn something while sons obey to be near. It is a huge pivot. It's an entirely different way to look at the relationship. Let's go back to verse 15 of chapter three.

Pastor Greg:

Dear brothers and sisters, here's an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or amend an irrevocable agreement, so it is in this case. God gave the promises to Abraham and his child or his son or his seed, however your translation words it. And notice that the scripture doesn't say to his children as if it meant many descendants rather it says to his child and that of course means Christ. This is what I'm trying to say.

Pastor Greg:

The agreement god made with Abraham could not be cancelled four hundred and thirty years later when god gave the law to Moses. God would be breaking his promise. For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God's promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise. We spoke about the promise and how Abraham received the promise.

Pastor Greg:

How? Not through anything he did, not through obedience, not through obeying a law. He received it through faith in Jesus Christ. Even though he didn't know who Jesus Christ was, didn't understand the coming Messiah, God granted him that because he trusted god. And he gave him the righteousness through faith.

Pastor Greg:

God made a promise to Abraham and his child and Paul is clear on what that means. He gave the promise to Abraham through Jesus Christ and that that promise wasn't just a, hey, I'm going to do this for you. It is a legal agreement. And it cannot be amended. Abraham, he couldn't change the terms.

Pastor Greg:

He couldn't say, this is an awesome promise. Here's how I'm going to to walk it out. Here's how I'm going to live this out with you God. He had no right to change the terms. He couldn't have gone before a court and the court could not have changed the terms.

Pastor Greg:

This was God's promise. God himself could not change the terms of this promise. Because if God were to change the terms of this promise, that would mean his promise is untrustworthy. And god always comes through on his promise. He never makes a promise that he doesn't know that he can uphold.

Pastor Greg:

He always fulfills his promise. We kind of look at it as a contract but but the problem with the contract is if you mess up a clause or disobey a clause in the contract, it's done. It's what a contract. This is a covenant and covenants are entirely different. Covenants are not transactional.

Pastor Greg:

They are relationally binding which means if if I make a covenant with you and you break it, I am still bound by the covenant. That's why we talk about marriage and covenant language because it's not a contract. It is a guarantee. It's not a transaction. The promise was not a contract.

Pastor Greg:

The promise is a covenant. God makes this promise to Abraham. All nations will be blessed through you and through your offspring pointing towards Jesus Christ. And he says, through faith is how you receive this promise yet four hundred and thirty years later, the law shows up. This list of rules, 613 rules in all that would end up coming for the Jewish people or God's people to say this is how you follow God.

Pastor Greg:

You got to obey these rules. This is the standard. But it was four thirty years after god gave the promise. It was too late to change the terms of the promise. The law couldn't make you an heir The law can't make you a son of the promise.

Pastor Greg:

That was never the intent of the law. It was not given to give you a standard to live up to so that you could earn your righteousness with God. That's not God's intent with the law. So four hundred and thirty years later, he gives a law that comes subsequent to a promise. What was the point?

Pastor Greg:

Why would he come and give the law when the promise already stood? Look at verse 19. Why then was the law given? That makes me feel good because they're asking the same question in biblical times that we ask today. What was the point?

Pastor Greg:

Why did this happen? Why why did god do it this way? And Paul answers the question himself. It was given alongside the promise, didn't cancel the promise, given alongside the promise to show people their sin. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised.

Pastor Greg:

God gave his law through angels to Moses who was the mediator between god and the people. Now, a mediator is helpful if more than one party must reach an agreement but god who is one did not use a mediator when he gave his promise to Abraham. Is there a conflict then between god's law and god's promises? Absolutely not. If the law could give us new life, we would be made right with God by obeying it.

Pastor Greg:

Hang on to that. If the law could make you right, if following the rules can make you right with the lord, then that's how we would be made right. That's how god would have designed it. But the scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin. So, we receive god's promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ.

Pastor Greg:

So, a promise is made four hundred and thirty years later, six thirteen rules come on the scene. What's the point? Why is this even here? Why the law? Because we keep sinning because we keep living in opposition to god's will for our life.

Pastor Greg:

Why the law? Not to change the terms but to reveal in us sin. To make sin visible, to show you what the standard is, and how we break it and Paul says, it was only temporary. It was never meant to be there to rescue you. It was there to show you.

Pastor Greg:

This is the standard. The law shows you are a slave to sin, a prisoner to sin but it does not give you life. It just shows your need for salvation. Your need for something to repair you. The law is kind of like a mirror.

Pastor Greg:

Who woke up this morning as you were getting ready and looked in the mirror? Some of you looks like you ain't looked in a mirror in a long time. Maybe you should, correct? Who looked in that mirror this morning and was like, wow, where'd that gray hair come from? You don't have to admit that.

Pastor Greg:

Or or that wrinkle wasn't there yesterday. Or or just saw something and you're like, things don't look like I remember. The mirror, it shows you who you are, doesn't it? Or at least shows you what the exterior looks like. It can't lie to you.

Pastor Greg:

You see it. That's what's there. You know what it is. It's not some ladder that helps you get to God closer. That's not what the law.

Pastor Greg:

The law is a mirror. It shows you who you are. I heard it explained a better way really. It's not really a mirror. It's more like an x-ray.

Pastor Greg:

Last year, Braxton had a football game and he got injured in the football game, came out for a few minutes, went back in. Thought everything was cool a couple days later, his hands black. Things don't appear to be going the way they're supposed to go. So, we take him to the urgent care and they X-ray it. They come back in.

Pastor Greg:

They show us the X-ray and you can see it clearly. There's a break in one of his fingers. And we're like, okay, what do we do about that? Nothing. We're going to wrap it up.

Pastor Greg:

Just keep him from, you know, being too hard with it. Well, can he play football? Depends on how much you wrap it up. If it's protected, then sure, he can play. So, he went.

Pastor Greg:

He played the rest of the season with a broken finger and we looked at that X-ray and saw the break and knew that it was going to be painful. You know, an X-ray, it shows the break. But it can't heal the brokenness The law shows you where you're broken but it can't heal it. It can't fix it. It just shows what the problem is.

Pastor Greg:

It shows that there's a need for a solution to your brokenness. So, when it comes to our relationship to the law, we don't obey it to earn anything from god. That's what slaves do. Sons, children of god, we obey it to be near to our god. In verse 23, Paul writes this, before the way of faith in Christ was available to us, we were placed under guard by the law.

Pastor Greg:

We were kept in protective custody so to speak until the way of faith was revealed. Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came. It protected us until we could be made right with god through faith. And now, the way of faith has come.

Pastor Greg:

We no longer need the law as our guardian. As Paul's writing this to the Galatians, he's writing in this context that they would understand. They they would understand what a Roman household would look like. In a in a Roman household, there was, if there was a son, it was the first born son who would be the heir and and the son or the heir had rights in that household but as a child, they were assigned someone to be their guardian and it would be a slave. A household slave would be the guardian of that that son, that child and and the role of that guardian was to watch over that child to make sure that child is learning how to to live as a a decent human being that the guardian's role was to like today, it would the role would be walking that child to school, making sure they are safe, to set the rules, and then to correct and to punish when the rules are broken.

Pastor Greg:

That's what the guardian in a Roman household would do but the guardian for for his job would have a date that was set in the future where that role would end. For us in today's context, it would be like, they hit 18 years old. Boom. They're legally adults. The role of that guardian is over.

Pastor Greg:

The job is finished. The guardian, he he doesn't get fired. He's just done. He doesn't cease to exist. His role is just not there anymore.

Pastor Greg:

The father set a date for him and that time has come. Your heavenly father set a date on the law. And when the job was done, the need for it disappeared and that date's already come for you. It came in the name of Jesus Christ. He fulfilled the law We don't obey because we gotta keep the rules.

Pastor Greg:

We obey because we want to be near to our god. We are children of the one true king. You flip over into chapter four. Let's look at verse three. That's the way it was with us before Christ came.

Pastor Greg:

We were like children. We were slaves to the basic spiritual principles of this world. Slaves to the things of this world is where Paul says, we are. We we served a master and it was this world. And here is here's the truth for every single one of you in this room.

Pastor Greg:

Everybody serves something. Every single one of us have a master. Every single one of us has something that rules our life. And for some of you, it's a checking account or savings account or retirement account and everything in your life revolves around whether that account is hitting the line you needed to hit, whether there's been expenses that have hit that account that you weren't expecting and now you gotta replenish it. It all revolves around the the credits and the debits on your checking account.

Pastor Greg:

For some, it's totally different. It's that number on the scale when you woke up this morning or what showed up in that mirror this morning and it becomes about your appearance and making sure that that you are looking your best. For some of you, it's it's a need for approval. I'm going to live my life in a way that everyone will approve of me especially fill in the blank. Maybe it's mom or dad.

Pastor Greg:

Maybe it's a boss. Maybe it's a spouse. Maybe it's your children. But it's this need to to be approved by someone and that kind of rules the decisions of our life. Maybe for you, it goes even deeper and it's to numb yourself through a bottle that nobody else knows about.

Pastor Greg:

Or maybe that bottle is full of pills and you gotta numb yourself through that or maybe it's a needle It can be so many different things but it requires obedience When the checking account is the master, you gotta be obedient to to being making sure that everything lines up right for the checking account. When your appearance is the master, you gotta be obedient, hitting the gym, making sure your diet's correct, that everything's lining up to make sure your appearance is what you want it to be. When you're, when your master is approval, everything's gotta be lined up to make sure you're doing nothing to offend whoever that person is you're trying to approve. Or have their approval of. None of those are necessarily bad things but it can't even go into sin like where you just can't control it anymore like a bottle or pills or a needle or so many different things.

Pastor Greg:

It can creep into addiction. Every single one of them requires obedience though. What's your master? Because none of those things can make you an heir. You can be the best at all of those things and be successful at all of those things and in the end, none of it matters.

Pastor Greg:

It doesn't matter what the number is in the checking account. It doesn't matter what the number is on the scale. It doesn't matter who might have looked at you and said, I don't quite approve. None of that makes you an heir. The reality is freedom is not defining your own truth.

Pastor Greg:

Freedom is not following something of this world. Freedom is living inside of God's design for your life. Knowing that there's a plan and God didn't give me this plan just to make my life difficult. He gave me this plan because he knows this is what's best for me. It's protection and that protection gives you freedom.

Pastor Greg:

It keeps you on the right track. Probably the best way I heard it described was a train. You think of a train, it can go as fast as it wants to go. It can get to that destination. It's always on target.

Pastor Greg:

Those rails give it freedom to do what it has to do. But as soon as it jumps off the rails, it's wreckage. It's destruction. It's death. The freedom's gone.

Pastor Greg:

It can go where it wants but it can't go anywhere. That's where we find ourselves. When we get outside of god's will, we find ourselves in the wreckage of life and it's destruction. Verse six, and because we are his children, god has sent the spirit of his son into our hearts prompting us to call out, Abba Father. Now, you are no longer a slave but god's own child and since you are his child, god has made you his heir.

Pastor Greg:

What's this relationship with god look like? God loves you so much that he gave you himself. God loves you so much that he indwells you with his spirit so that you can live in a way that gives you freedom. And it's not because you're climbing some ladder full of rules, it's because within you, there is this longing to just cry out, Abba Father. I want to draw near.

Pastor Greg:

I just want my god. That's what he gives you. So, what do we do with the law? What do we do with all these rules? So much of church feels like it's rules.

Pastor Greg:

So much of following Jesus just feels like a checklist. I gotta do this and this and this and this. I hadn't read my Bible. Oh, god's mad at me. I hadn't prayed this week.

Pastor Greg:

God's mad at me. I only gave 9% instead of 10%. God's mad at me. What do we do with the law? You know, there's a truth in all this.

Pastor Greg:

A son does keep the house rules. The heir does keep the house rules and it's the same rules as the slave but it's an entirely different engine for why we keep the rules. There's an entirely different motive behind it. What do we do with the law? We got Jesus.

Pastor Greg:

There is no law. But Matthew chapter five, Jesus himself says, I didn't come to abolish the law. I came to fulfill the law. I didn't come to abolish the law. I came to fulfill the law.

Pastor Greg:

Meaning, he met the standard of the law. He didn't do away with the law. He lived the perfect life, met the standard of the law, then he took that life and he transferred that righteousness onto you through faith in him. He gave you his record. So, what do we do with those 613 rules?

Pastor Greg:

Well, let's look at some of em. The law is really broke up into three categories. You got the moral law, the relational law, and the ceremonial laws. The moral laws, they show you how to live a life that is pleasing to god. Think of the 10 commandments.

Pastor Greg:

That's probably the best example. A life that is pleasing to god is one where you don't murder people. That is a good thing. Don't go kill somebody this afternoon. A life that is pleasing to god is one where you you don't commit adultery against your wife.

Pastor Greg:

A life that is pleasing to god is one where you honor your father and your mother. That's a life that is pleasing to god. That's what the moral law shows us. Then then you look at the relational laws. How do we interact with other people?

Pastor Greg:

Those laws, they they show a son. How do we treat the rest of the family? How do I interact with those in the in god's family and those outside god's family? Ceremonial system, the ceremonial laws, they all pointed to one thing, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He finished those.

Pastor Greg:

That's why we don't sit up here sacrificing cows. He did it. His blood covered all those ceremonial laws. See, When it comes to the laws of god, they point to the way to live a life that pleases god and we follow those laws. The question isn't, do you obey em?

Pastor Greg:

The question is why? Why did you obey? Why did you follow god's laws? I know some of you you've committed. I'm going to read the Bible in a year.

Pastor Greg:

Why? Why are you reading through the Bible? Check it off. I I got it done. I'm not saying there's no value in that.

Pastor Greg:

There is some value. God, god's word never returns void but are you reading it to check a box or to draw near to god? Do you read scripture because you want to know your father better? Because you want to understand him better and his will for you better. Why do you serve?

Pastor Greg:

Many of you serve in the church or you serve in other areas of your life. Why? That's what you do, right? You got to. It's an obligation.

Pastor Greg:

You got to be a good Christian. I got to serve. But an heir serves because we love other people because we want to meet needs and because we have to because there's a need and we can meet it. Why do you give? I know that some of you, it runs through your mind.

Pastor Greg:

I know I've to give 10. But is that gross or is that net? That's legalism. Why do you give? Do you give because you got to?

Pastor Greg:

It's what's expected or do you give because god has blessed you and you just want to be a part of the mission. I just want that the the word of god to go forth and the kingdom to grow and I'm going to use my resources to fund it. Why do you give? There's a very different engine to our motives. When you approach it as I am a child versus I am a slave.

Pastor Greg:

Slaves obey to earn something. Sons obey to be near. It's that whole Jesus plus nothing idea that we've talked about. I've shared my story before. My parents divorced when I was pretty young.

Pastor Greg:

I don't even remember how old I really was but I know my mom had custody of us and we lived with my granny and anybody who knows me knows she's my hero. Granny was the matriarch of the house. It all revolved around how she ran the house. She set the tone and she had rules and if you didn't follow the rules, you got the repercussions for the rules which meant the four finger slap, you don't know what that means but Robin does and it's very painful or you walk out to a tree and you pick a switch and you come back and she takes care of business. You see, the rules were there because she loved us.

Pastor Greg:

She was trying to teach us how to live a life that's pleasing to God. How to live a life that honors those who are around us. They weren't there to make it more difficult. They were there to protect us. And nobody in that house obeyed the rules to earn a spot with granny.

Pastor Greg:

You just obeyed because you loved her. Not always. Robin broke the rules a lot. And I'll be honest, she broke the rules and I got in trouble for it because she was really good at it. I'm not lying.

Pastor Greg:

It is true. My first anniversary I bought flowers for a lady who didn't really care anything about flowers. That was the rules. Number 30 was very different. Just time together No rules.

Pastor Greg:

No production. Just draw near. It's not because I don't want to be a good husband anymore. I do. I just know there's not a check mark into being a good husband.

Pastor Greg:

Just being there with her serving her needs I just want to love my wife. Why do I follow the rules of scripture to the best of my ability? I just want to love god. I just want to draw closer to him. I know I don't need to earn anything with him.

Pastor Greg:

He's already paid it. There's nothing more I can do. Just be obedient. I'm not perfect. I mess it up all the time.

Pastor Greg:

And every single time, I know he says, that's okay because it's Jesus plus nothing. You'd bow your heads as we close every single one in this room. You're at a different place in your faith. Some of you, you're walking close with the lord. Some of you, you know the lord but you're you're distant.

Pastor Greg:

Some of you, it's a job. Some of you are tired of trying to be a Christian trying to do the thing that makes you a Christian. If you take nothing else from this, I want you to be encouraged. It's not about the rules. It's just about loving the god who loved you enough to send his own son and realizing that all that scripture teaches everything that's in there that we can put our own stamp on and say that's a rule I gotta follow.

Pastor Greg:

None of it is there as a rule to earn anything. It's there because god loves you and he knows what's best for you. We're obedient because we trust him and we love him. If you have a sin in your life right now that's drawing you away from that, that you are struggling with, you just can't shake. You need to repent of that.

Pastor Greg:

Maybe it means you need to come up and just lay on the altar and repent. Maybe you need to grab a friend or your husband or wife or someone. Maybe you need to come up and pray with me. Maybe you need to grab Tina in the back. Not even, not confessing to us, just praying with us.

Pastor Greg:

Maybe you've been living your Christian life like, I've gotta follow these rules and there's no joy in it anymore for you. Today, he's shown you that it's not about the rules. So maybe you just spend few moments grateful. Thank you lord that it's not about rules that I can't keep. Maybe you don't have that relationship with Christ.

Pastor Greg:

We can't leave this place without giving you that opportunity. Christ there was a law that Christ came and fulfilled, and that law, if you could meet the law, that's all you do. You're good, but you can't. If we went across the room and we went through the laws, every single one of us has broken at least half of them. You ever told a lie?

Pastor Greg:

That makes you a liar, and you're done. One law broken. You're finished. But Christ, He came. He lived a righteous life.

Pastor Greg:

He died taking the punishment for sin. And for those who accept Christ in faith, he takes that righteousness and places it on you. And through the blood of Christ, the father looks at you and says, you are my child. How do you do it? You confess Jesus as Lord, and you surrender your life to follow him.

Pastor Greg:

You're gonna serve a master. Is it gonna be the king of this world or the king of all kings? You're gonna serve a master. Your knee is going to bow to the king of kings one day. We will all either bow and surrender and in worship or we will bow in submission to our punishment.

Pastor Greg:

This morning, you have the opportunity to become a child of god. Confess him as lord. Surrender your life to him. If you are a child of god and you just, you've lost the joy this morning, confess it. Thank you lord that I don't have to keep the rules but you did it.

Pastor Greg:

Help me obedient, be obedient just because I love you. Father in heaven, thank you. Thank you lord that you provided a way for us to see a standard. Thank you lord that you've shown us what the standard is to earn our place with you and god that you showed us that we can't measure up to that. Thank you for providing that way for us to restore that relationship with you.

Pastor Greg:

Only through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank you lord for Jesus and god, I pray over every person in this room, every person online, wherever they find themselves with you. Lord, that they are grateful that we don't have to keep the law to earn your favor. We just keep the law to be closer to you, to draw near to you. We are no longer slaves.

Pastor Greg:

I pray for those who are struggling in a sin and just can't shake it. God, that you would grab a hold of them, help them to confess it, and walk away from it. And, I lift up those who don't have a relationship with you. Lord, would you save their souls right now and give them the courage to share that with somebody. Father, would you move in this place today?

Pastor Greg:

In Jesus name.
