Begin Again is for people in the second half of life who sense that the identity they've been carrying no longer fits. Host Winston Faircloth — spiritual director, daily poet, and fellow traveler — brings honest conversation, personal story, and original poetry to the journey of remembering, releasing, and returning to who God created you to be. Welcome to the Begin Again Podcast. Before anything else, here's a poem. This one's called Reunion. I wrote it on day seven thirteen of my daily writing habit. Reunion.
Winston Faircloth:There's a longing so deep, so profound, that for much of our life we cannot form the words. In our youth, we called it the good life. White picket fences, waiting days and first steps, promotions and vacations. In midlife, our big dreams blend with responsibilities, becoming more practical and saving for the future. Then one day, the future arrives.
Winston Faircloth:We see how we climb ladders on the wrong walls and how we missed so many moments that matter. In this next season, the wellspring of longing becomes crystal clear. What is extraneous must go, and we turn from our selfish ways. We finally awake from sleepwalking through life, making each day count as we prepare ourselves and others for the ultimate homecoming. Until then, let me love others well, for when we see you again fulfilling our greatest desire, the longing for reunion.
Winston Faircloth:I'm Winston Faircloth, and that poem, that longing for reunion, is where everything in my life eventually pointed. For most of my adult life, I was a builder and achiever, the kind of person who always finds a way forward. And that identity served me well for decades. And then at age 59, it stopped working. What follows was five years I couldn't have engineered.
Winston Faircloth:A season of honest reckoning, spiritual formation, and the slow daily writing of nearly a thousand poems. One every so often, many daily, trying to put into words a transformation I didn't choose, but I came to receive. That journey became my reunion tour. And this podcast, Begin Again, is its companion. Begin Again is for people in the second half of life who sense that the identity they've been carrying, the role, the title, the version of themselves built to succeed or to survive, no longer fits the way it once did.
Winston Faircloth:Maybe the restlessness is new. Maybe it's been gnawing for years. And maybe you can't yet find words for it. And that's exactly where this show begins. Each season moves through four movements of the soul.
Winston Faircloth:Remember, recognize, release, reunion. Not a formula, but a companion journey with stories, poems, and honest conversation along the way. If you're new here, welcome. You'll find two seasons of the podcast waiting for you. Season one was recorded from late twenty nineteen to 2021, And it holds 60 stories of perseverance and starting over.
Winston Faircloth:Real people who found their way through a pivot, a loss, a crossroads. A great place to begin if you want company along the road. Season two is being recorded five years later, beginning in the summer of twenty twenty six. And it goes deeper into the identity work itself. The remembering, the recognizing, the releasing, the ceremony of becoming who you were always meant to be.
Winston Faircloth:So start wherever you are. There's no wrong choice. I'd like to invite you to subscribe to Begin Again, wherever you listen to podcasts. And if you're ready to go deeper, not just listen, but actually take the journey, visit myreuniontour.com. That's myreuniontour.com.
Winston Faircloth:I'm Winston Faircloth, and you're right where you're supposed to be.
