McKay Vandenberg:

Today we're going to continue our series of reading daily Psalms. We're going be jumping into Psalms 92. Chapter says, It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by a 10 string instrument, a harp, and the melody of a lyre. You thrill me, Lord, with all that you have done for me.

McKay Vandenberg:

I sing for joy because what you have done. Oh, Lord, what great works you do and how deep are your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know and only a fool would not understand this. Though the wicked sprout like weeds and evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever. But you, oh Lord, will be exalted forever.

McKay Vandenberg:

Your enemies, Lord, will surely perish. All evil evildoers will be scattered. But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil. My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies.

McKay Vandenberg:

My ears have heard the defeat of my wicked opponents. But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord's own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age, they will still produce fruit.

McKay Vandenberg:

They will remain they will remain vital and green. They will declare the Lord is just. He is my rock. There is no evil in him. As we look at Psalms ninety ninety two, it's almost like a reflection off of Psalms 91.

McKay Vandenberg:

We're reminded of the good, promises that the Lord is with us. And Psalms 92 is almost a Psalm of praise as we recognize that even though all these things happen in our lives, God is still good and God is still just. He sees the injustice in our world and says it's not good. Promises to to bring justice to the the terrible things that we see. I almost laugh when I'm reading this when you see in verses, where did it go?

McKay Vandenberg:

My gosh. In verse six, only a simpleton would not know and only a fool would not understand this. Though the wicked sprout like weeds and evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever. It's a little tongue in cheek, but it's almost like saying, yeah, as believers, we know that God will will follow through. We know that God will be just and care for us and strike down evil in the way that only he can.

McKay Vandenberg:

This is a great reminder as we go about our day navigating the cultures and societies that we're in. Even though we see evil and even though we know sin is rampant and all throughout the world, we can trust that God is working all things for his good, is gonna have an answer for those evil doers and will lift us up high. Let's pray. Heavenly father, thank you for the blessings you have given us. Thank you for meeting us in our afflictions, seeing the evil that this world has and saying it is not good.

McKay Vandenberg:

It is not of your plan. Lord, I pray that everyone that is listening to this and following you, Lord, that we just continue to look for you, for justice, for peace, for guidance as we navigate these scenarios. Lord, help us to remember that you will bring justice, to your people in your right timing. Lord, I pray for blessing over everyone that's listening to this that they may be filled with your spirit today. In Jesus name we pray.

McKay Vandenberg:

Amen.
