Welcome to the AHRN Minute. My name is Jenny Nielsen, and today we’re talking about MWR, what it is and what it can offer you.

MWR stands for Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and it provides quality-of-life programs designed to help service members and their families relax, recharge and have fun.

And MWR is a lot more than just the gym. Across the military, it offers nearly 5,000 leisure and support programs, with offerings varying by location.

You might find fitness and sports programs, bowling and golf, pools, outdoor recreation, equipment rentals, classes, campsites, recreational lodging, and even discounted tickets and travel through ITT.

There are also programs specifically designed for military families and single service members.
So whether you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, planning a vacation, or just want to make the most of life outside of work, your local MWR may have something for you.
