More than 250,000 carers in the North East will benefit this week from the UK’s largest roll-out of digital support.
North East residents who care for a relative or loved one will gain free access to a new tech-powered scheme which will provide them with tailored support and guidance.
13 local authorities in the region will introduce the Mobilise scheme, which provides an additional layer of round-the-clock support for those with caring responsibilities.
A new development document has been unveiled by the Local Government Association, in what it describes as the “essential starting point” for all local government CEOs. The Local Government Chief Executives’ Development Framework is the result of a collaboration between the LGA and Solace, as well as more than 100 CEOs, councillors, and other key stakeholders.
The framework will stay agile and contemporary, according to the LGA, as it has been designed to continuously evolve and mould itself to the current day’s pressures. It has seven core themes including the chief executive’s core role; politics and the political interface; good governance; public ethics; continuous improvement; resource management; and managerial leadership.
