Lot Walk with Teton Auto Group

What is Lot Walk with Teton Auto Group?

Welcome to the Lot Walk: where we stay close to the business, the customer, and each other, all while growing with purpose across Teton Auto Group.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to Lot Walk, where we stay close to the business, the customer, and each other, all while growing with purpose across Teton Auto Group. I'm Crystal Zemak. I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while. I don't get to see everyone as much as I'd like to, the different stores, different departments, and different schedules. But we're all working towards the same thing.

Speaker 1:

So this is just a way for me to stay connected to you. To share what's going on, talk through what we're focused on, and make sure you have clarity on where we're heading. So here's what you can expect. Every couple of weeks, this will be a short ten to fifteen minutes, Something you can listen to on your way in or while you walk the lot. Each episode will be simple.

Speaker 1:

What's happening across the group, one principle or focus, and something you can take away into your day that actually helps you in your role. And from time to time, you'll hear from other leaders across the group. So you can hear what's working in different stores. So let me ask you something. Are we growing on purpose or are we just staying busy?

Speaker 1:

Because those two things can feel the same, but they're not. I've been reading a book recently and one idea that stuck with me, most of the time, the hardest part of the job isn't the job itself. It's how we show up to it. Our attitude, our focus, how we respond when things don't go right. That's self mastery.

Speaker 1:

And that matters here, because how you show up every day directly impacts your results, your team, and your customer experience. This year's theme for Teton Auto Group is to grow with purpose. That means being intentional, not just working harder, but working the right way. Every store has strategic initiatives this year. Some focus on communication, some on community involvement, some on training and development.

Speaker 1:

But all of it ties back to one thing, delivering a best in industry customer experience that is easy to buy and easy to do business with. All right, a few updates. Every store in our group this year earned the President's Award. Mario called it the Magnificent Seven. That reflects consistency, performance, and the work being done every day.

Speaker 1:

So congratulations. We also just wrapped up our seven Habits training and our Group Wide Service Advisor training. And I want to take a minute on that. That's not just something we put on the calendar, that is us being intentional about how we grow. Seven habits is about how you lead yourself and how you work with others.

Speaker 1:

The service training that directly impacts one of our biggest touch points we have with our customers was a huge success. So this isn't just training, this is about making your job easier, helping you become more confident in your role, and creating a better experience for the customer in front of you. So if you were there, I appreciate it. And if you weren't, you're going to keep seeing more of this because this is how we operate. A few other updates.

Speaker 1:

Rob Prudent is stepping into the GM role at Teton Volkswagen. Nick Larson is now overseeing finance across the group. Jake Taylor is stepping into the IT across the group. Sydney Chaney is expanding payroll and HR support. And Kelsey Salisbury is stepping into marketing director for Idaho and Coos Bay.

Speaker 1:

We also had four people complete general manager school, myself, Rob, Kelly, and Ed. And we celebrated twenty years at Teton Toyota and ten years at Teton Honda. Mario Hernandez was named Idaho Time Dealer of the Year and a top five finalist nationally at NADA. That reflects the strength of this group and what we're building together. You're also going to continue to see updates with CDK and our transition to Paylocity.

Speaker 1:

These changes are meant to make things clearer, more consistent, and easier for you to do your job. So here's what I'll leave you with. Pick one place today where you can be more intentional in how you communicate, in how you follow a process, or how you take care of the customer. Because those small adjustments are what actually drive results. If this was helpful, share it with someone on your team who could use a little more clarity.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate you and I'll talk to you again in a couple weeks.
