**Kasra Dash:** So if I have an underfloor heating business and I want a consistent flow of inquiries every single month being generated for a business what do you recommend.
**James Dooley:** So if I'm looking to grow an underfloor heating company the first thing I'd look at is a lead generation company. There are plenty out there for underfloor heating that you can go to, Bark, Checkatrade, Builder, TrustATrader. Obviously at FatRank.com they do quite a lot for underfloor heating as well.
**James Dooley:** So heading over to FatRank.com if you are a business owner that does underfloor heating, we can see whether you qualify. I think there's a 16 point checklist that you need to qualify for, but if you do qualify then it's a great way because it's only a pay on performance type lead generation model.
**James Dooley:** But then apart from that don't throw all your eggs in one basket. Try and have other lead generation companies that are generating your leads. But what's important for people if they are looking to have a lead generation company is obviously if you're looking to opt in for any lead generation company SEO is definitely one thing to take in consideration, especially when it comes to the online reputation side.
**James Dooley:** So for example if I'm looking at two different companies and Company A has only one star reviews or two star reviews, Company B has a lot of five star reviews, they've got nice case studies, they might have a nice gallery section on their website showcasing previous work they've done, you're just going to win more traffic into paying customers. So I think that's super important. Then obviously you can rank for all the local terms as well.
**Kasra Dash:** Yeah I mean when you're talking about local SEO you've got the Google Business Profile that you can be doing. Like you said you can get the reviews on there and that can generate a lot of leads. And like you said with SEO it's not just about spending money per month to get more impressions and clicks to generate more leads, even though that would be great and that's the Holy Grail of any successful business. It's also the reputation management.
**Kasra Dash:** But then what about paid ads. Would you do anything for underfloor heating or organic social media or PPC.
**James Dooley:** With PPC you could definitely go down that route. One thing I would recommend is try to either hire somebody in house or Outsource it to an agency. There's a lot of agencies that don't do a good job so always look for case studies on their website. Look to see if they've actually gotten results in the past.
**James Dooley:** You want to track the KPIs even if it is with a lead generation agency or with a PPC agency. And then outside of PPC you've got social media, organic social media, Facebook ads, Instagram ads. One thing I would recommend anyone doing is try to build up the organic side. So open up an Instagram account if you've not already got one. Same goes for Facebook and start publishing, screaming and shouting about any jobs that you do get and try to document it all.
**Kasra Dash:** All it takes is maybe five or 10 minutes of extra work to record an underfloor installation. You could even do a free video series, right we've ripped apart the ground, now we're installing the underfloor heating, now we're doing the tiles above that. And then you can do Facebook ads as well.
**James Dooley:** For sure. It's tricky with underfloor heating, it's not really an aesthetically pleasing industry. I couldn't imagine scrolling on Facebook going I want someone doing underfloor heating, that looks good.
**James Dooley:** It's not really one of those niches. So my two major plays would be lead generation and then doing SEO for reputation management. PPC can get expensive with click fraud and stuff like that. Social media ads I don't think would work because people don't sit there thinking they want underfloor heating.
**James Dooley:** The one caveat to that is you've got the benefits of underfloor heating so you could run benefit style ads and educate people as to why they should get underfloor heating.
**Kasra Dash:** For sure. If anyone is watching this and you are a business owner and you own an underfloor heating company make sure you head on over to FatRank.com, fill in the form and see whether you qualify for our lead generation service.
