because it starts with
we're weeding we're meeting with the hegemon

i wrote together a masterpiece
the hero point slipping away from you

we did however go to the hegemon's house
we were invited to an audience with him
we went to his beautiful home
which is this like palatial estate
on this essentially elevated uh uh like
disc almost with a grand pillar with a lot of stairs
that we climbed for a long time
and a grand villa overlooking the entire city
uh we noticed that the house is very enchanted
there are a lot of magical effects going on there
and so we figured that it was probably best to not try to square up with him
though we we thought about it
uh yeah
i can take him
meeting with the hegemon
he confessed to us that originally he did indeed want us dead
that his attempts to uh uh end our lives were in earnest
and indeed it was not an accident that he run
he ran two of us over with a chainsaw car
because he saw that we were fatefully tied to outset's destruction
but now of course that our threads of fate has been severed
he has decided that he is undecided as to what has been
what should be done with us
as the conversation continued on
he started to reveal little things about himself
that raised everybody's eyebrows
including the fact that he was
he had been around since the time of the prince
and he really fucking hated that guy
he was he was not a fan
um
and as the conversation continued on
we were given the revelation that he
is the beneficite
a deity that the prince defeated long ago
in outset's history
to ascend to godhood
the perfection that he had brought about
had originally enslaved the people of outset's wills
he confessed that he has been trying to remedy that mistake
for the past 1500 years
by not directly interfering in anything
he has been quietly sitting back
and watching everything unfold in outset
and this uh
this came as a bit of a surprise
to the rest of the party as you may know
and with this new revelation
uh that this man was the beneficite
the party huddled to discuss
what the hell we do from here
the man is functionally a god
and he could prove to be a
very uh
very powerful patron
one that could even provide
a kind of sponsorship
to make up for the fact
that we no longer are operating
on anti-drown second chances
could have given you a red mushroom
could have given me a red mushroom
but you know
it's fine
we're good
ultimately the party decided
that they wouldn't
take his sponsorship deal
some were on board with him
some really didn't like him
some are conflicted
but ultimately
the decision we came to
was that we would politely
refuse his offer of sponsorship
and go about
grabbing our destiny
ourselves
and then we decided
that we are going to go
and steal Sandal Declan's
fucking airship
