Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem

On this episode of The Noon Hour of Madness & Mayhem, Peaches begins his journey toward self-improvement with physical therapy, counseling, and the horrifying assignment of standing in front of a mirror and listing things he likes about himself. Unfortunately, that same confidence-building exercise comes shortly after admitting he nearly sat down at a dining room table that no longer exists because he already sold it. Meanwhile, Viktor and Peaches dive into the strange world of people dating AI chatbots, discuss the emotional fallout of ChatGPT updates breaking up virtual relationships, and wonder how humanity arrived at this point. The conversation bounces from time travel fantasies involving smoking sections in restaurants and meeting their younger parents, to anniversary dinner drama that ended with a vape-related restaurant exit and a therapeutic walk along the Greenbelt. Things get even better when the guys debate movie scenes that would absolutely never work in real life, including surviving gunshots, explosions, and a classic film where a guy literally dies from a "busted belly." By the end, Peaches proudly explains how he's spending his evenings in The Forest chopping up sea turtles, building shrines out of cannibal body parts, terrifying virtual island inhabitants, and somehow maintaining that counseling is helping. If you've ever wanted a podcast that can connect self-esteem exercises, AI romance, sea turtle massacres, vaping incidents, Red Dead Redemption-level sadness, and forgotten furniture in under an hour, congratulations—you've found it.

What is Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem?

The Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem can be heard live on KBEAR 101 weekdays at 12pm MST. Viktor and Peaches talk about a wide variety of topics depending on the day and you never know what to expect!

[upbeat music] The noon hour of Madness and Mayhem, the podcast.

It's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. How's Peaches doing?

I'm doing okay.

Well good, I'm glad to hear it. I hope it's a fantastic day for you. A fantastic rocking time, Peaches.

I got physical therapy. I got counseling. I'm ready to go.

All right. Peach is really rocking. Hmm.

I'm investing in myself.

Oh, good. [laughs]

Health is wealth. [laughs]

Oh, good for you, Peaches. [laughs]

I also am, uh, procrastinating on the assignment the, uh, counselor gave me. He told me to, like, look in the mirror every day and say three things I love about myself, like I'm some sort of, uh, fruitcake, you know?

[laughs]

So now I gotta ... Now I gotta make up for that. I gotta stand in the mirror and be like, "All right, 21 things I like about myself."

[laughs]

[laughs]

Good luck. [laughs] Good luck, Peaches.

ChatGPT, give me things.

[laughs]

[laughs] You know me well enough now, ChatGPT. Please.

Yeah. You know every part of this body. I just need to upload a naked picture.

[laughs]

What do you like about me? [laughs]

[laughs] Well, I wonder what would happen if you did that.

[laughs]

What kind of a response you would get from ta- ChatGPT. "Oh, you're a very attractive man."

[laughs]

[laughs] Ugh.

I like that mole on your left thigh. [laughs]

Jeez. Yeah, I, I don't think I would ever try ChatGPT that people interact with, uh, with their voice, where it talks back to you. That seems to really be messing people's heads up, dude.

They're, they're in relationships-

Mm-hmm

... with AI. It's, it's quite freaky. Have you been to that subreddit My Boyfriend is AI?

[laughs]

I'm not kidding. You should-

You, you told me about it, but I don't think I ever went and checked it out

... this one girl was crying because ChatGPT ... Oh, there, there's been plenty of people that have, uh, been, uh, that have become sad because, um, ChatGPT updated its model.

Yeah.

And so it got rid of those people's relationships with the AI software.

Yeah. The, the way it interacted with them wasn't as, uh ... I don't know what word I'm looking for here, but-

Romantic

... romantic, yeah. Um, this is a weird subreddit to look through, Peaches.

Oh. Oh yeah, it's disturbing.

Um-

It's like the movie Her.

Yeah.

It's what I compare it to every single time.

Well, and have you seen Obsession yet?

No, I want to.

Okay. Well, I don't wanna say anything about it. No spoilers, but, uh,

I have thoughts on this AI, you know, relationship thing that ... There, there's nothing-

Is it gonna be like-

... relating to that in the movie, but-

Is it, is it gonna be like me looking myself in the mirror and going, "I, I'm nice. Nice beard."

Um, again, I don't wanna spoil-

Obsession

... anything about that meeting

... you obsessing with myself

... uh, or that movie. Stupid meeting on the mind.

Dude.

Kicking it off my mind. [laughs]

I'm telling you, man. I, I was trying to ... Oh, the thing is, is that I have so many things I have to do today-

Mm-hmm

... because of these meetings and these appointments that the KBEAR afternoon show, I was just telling you, will have to be, like, best of breaks. There's no way I'm gonna be able to do two shows today in addition to all that I'm doing.

Oh, you can do it.

Oh, stop.

Just liner that crap. There you go. Bam, bam, bam, bam.

No, I'm not gonna waste the listeners' time by just doing that.

Gotta let them know about the Idaho Falls Community Hospital River Fest presented by ICCU and Riverbend Media Group.

Yeah, what other sponsors can we add on to that?

Um, I could think of plenty. Anybody who wants to add a sponsorship, call sales. It might not be too late. Holy crap, we're like two weeks, two weeks from that too? Ugh, busy times, Peaches. I can't wait to be done with the holiday, even though it'll be fun. It's America's 250th, and it all culminates with the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration.

That fireworks show better be huge. And I mean the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration, of course.

That's right.

It's like at Disneyland you can't point with one finger, you have to point with two, and the reason behind that is because Walt Disney used to smoke cigarettes all the time.

[laughs]

So he would point with the cigarette between his fingers.

And now they Photoshop it out. [laughs]

Yeah, because they didn't want kids to re- see Walt Disney smoking.

[sighs] It's okay to accurately represent history, everybody. [laughs]

Because it was-

We don't need to censor everything

... I think he was around, what, the 1940s?

Everybody smoked. Isn't that back before they told people it was bad?

Well, I know, like, in Stranger Things people got upset there, that there was so much smoking in that show.

Yeah, but it, it-

It took place in the '80s when smoking was normal.

Yeah. It was everywhere. You'd walk in ... I mean, I remember when I was a kid. Every restaurant had a smoking area. I even remember when I was real little people smoking in the grocery store.

My grandma, um, smoked all the time in restaurants.

Mm-hmm.

Like, my, my dad would bring my, of course, mom, the girlfriend at the time, to dinner with his parents and she'd be sitting there smoking a cigarette [laughs]

Oh, yeah. And d- I mean-

While eating dinner

... back in the day, walking into someone's house and people are just ... You know, tons of them smoking away. Totally common. Rare nowadays when you see somebody smoking in their own house.

Ah, it'd be cool, it'd be so cool to go back in time and go see those moments like that.

I-

See my grandparents, my-

[laughs]

... my, my parents y- uh, young and in love, you know?

[laughs]

See them as a young couple. Sit in the booth next to them.

Grandma's-

And I'm your big fat son. [laughs]

[laughs] [upbeat music] This is the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. I'm Victor.

I'm Peaches.

All right, Peaches.

What?

I've been watching a lot of movies recently and-

Good for you. I've been doing a whole lot of walking.

Ah. I did a little walking yesterday. I walked around the river a little bit.

No way.

Yeah, just a little bit. Not too much.

What time?

Um,

I'd say it was around

8:45 PM.

That was the same time me and Crosby were walking around the Greenbelt.

Yeah. We were ... Oh. Y- you know where the, the Chinese, uh, garden is?

Yeah.

Or the Japanese garden?

The Japanese garden. [laughs] Come on, Victor.

Sorry.

They're not the same. [laughs]

There's a name for it. I know they're not the same. But I can't-

It's like South Park. [laughs]

So, so we went and checked, you know, that out and-

They're two separate countries. [laughs]

I am aware.

[laughs]

So we ... You know, we crossed the bridge by the hotel, went to the left, and they've got the, you know, little flower garden area.

Oh, so you went the opposite direction.

Yeah.

Okay. 'Cause me, I w- I met up with one of my friends, Crosby. He shows up in, like, these bright Crocs and [laughs] like a Hawaiian shirt.

[laughs]

I'm like, "All right, dude." It looks like I'm walking with,

uh, bright Garfunkel. [laughs]

[laughs] Yeah. It was, uh, me and Becca, and we didn't intend to go walk around the river. It was our, uh, anniversary yesterday.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So we were like, "Let's go get some food." And I was like, "Let's go somewhere nice, so I'm not gonna throw anybody under the bus here."

We had a picnic right by the Greenbelt.

[laughs] So we went to a restaurant- And, uh, we were seated outside-

If I saw you guys having a picnic, I'd throw rocks or something at you. [laughs]

[laughs]

[laughs]

"Oh, look at you guys."

[laughs] So we're seated outside, and I think because we were outside, absentmindedly, uh, Becca took a rip off of her vape. You know, uh, uh,

it's a habit.

[laughs]

Nicotine's a bad habit.

Cro- Crosby did as well, and I didn't realize he was doing it, and all of a sudden I saw a whole bunch of smoke. I'm like, "Is the Undertaker coming by? What's going on?"

[laughs] So, uh, somebody who worked there came over and was like, very politely, [laughs] very polite, as nice as he could be, just, "Hey, um, could you please not, uh, vape here? Here you're not, you know, allowed to."

Very, very simple, right? [laughs]

And then Becca screamed-

She didn't scream

... and stone cold stunnered the guy.

[laughs] No, not, not, not that bad. [laughs]

She didn't, she-

Yeah, she's w- she's working, so she's not gonna hear me throw her under the bus. [laughs]

She channeled out her inner Zack de la Rocha.

[laughs]

"Leave you, I won't do what you tell me."

[laughs] N- no. She politely was like, "We're going somewhere else," [laughs] and we got up and left.

Really?

Yeah.

Wow. That addicted, huh?

And then she was like ... She was, she was frustrated about it, so she needed to go take a walk, [laughs] so we drove over to the river.

Geez.

And then we ended up [laughs] going somewhere else, which was really good.

I'm glad she's, she's your mess, Victor. [laughs]

[laughs] I'm like ... And she even said like, "I know the guy was nice. I don't know why I'm so frustrated." [laughs]

It happens.

Yeah, sometimes people set you off.

Yeah, yeah.

You know? You're just not in the mood for it.

Mm-hmm.

I was like ... And I'm chill, so I'm like, "Well, we can leave. Sure. As long as we go somewhere else and eat." Um, and

again, uh, I forgot what I was gonna say.

Everything happens for a reason.

[laughs] Everything ... Yeah.

Maybe this is the kickstart to Becca kicking her habit so that way she doesn't get frustrated by people, uh, insulting her choices.

Yeah. And I-

Or telling her not to do those things.

Well, and now I've got a new, uh, thing I can harass her for. And any time we walk in anywhere, "Hey, make sure to ... Don't vape in here." [laughs]

Yeah. "Could you please politely, uh, put that USB drive away?"

[laughs] "Turn that off. Turn that off before we go in this store."

Yeah.

You're irresponsible.

You, you're not a human fog machine.

[laughs]

Knock it off.

[upbeat music]

So I just remembered what I was gonna talk about at the top-

Good for you

... of that last break, Peach. Quit barreling over the top of me. I've got something to barrel over the top of you with as well. I haven't prepared it yet. I've been too busy. [laughs] But any time-

Good

... I just wanna drive you nuts, I'm gonna barrel over the top of you with it.

Today is my counseling day. Come on.

[laughs]

Try it.

I wanna, I wanna give you something to have to talk to him about. [laughs]

[burps]

My coworker's driving me crazy. [laughs]

Uh, Jay's the only one who drives me pretty much crazy around here.

I know. He, he's the worst. So I mentioned I've been watching a lot of movies recently, and I don't know about you, but any time I'm watching a movie, it seems like something'll happen that I just go,

"That is not how it would work in real life."

Somebody asked on Reddit, like injuries that you see in movies [laughs] that people are like, "What?" Like, you get shot and you-

Yeah, I was about to say

... get up and run a- just keep going.

Well, I just watched the, uh ... Uh, there was a YouTube Short that popped up of that one guy in Breaking Bad getting shot by the kid on the bicycle. I forgot his name. Is it Combo?

Uh, Combo. Yeah.

So he, he, he gets shot, and he's running with all this blood like right there in his upper rib area. And he's a big, fat dude, and so it's like, y- you're already like overweight and you also just got shot.

Yeah.

There's no way you're sprinting.

No. You're gonna be down. You're gonna be down on the ground.

And then he j- and then he flops in the street [laughs] with his arms in the air.

[laughs]

There's a ... I, I don't know if you've ever seen the movie, uh, 12 Angry Men, like the classic one. I think it's 12 Angry Men.

Uh, I think I have, but it would've been a, a long time ago.

There's a big, fat character that

I- he falls on his stomach-

Mm-hmm

... and dies.

[laughs] Accurate.

A spoiler alert for a movie-

[laughs]

... that's 70, 80 years old. I ... Uh, uh, a- and, uh, they go on to say like, "Yeah, he died of a busted belly."

A busted belly. [laughs]

[laughs] It's like the ... It's like imagine you're that guy that gets casted.

Oh.

"Yeah, okay. Hey, fatso, we're gonna have you die because you fell on your stomach and you busted your belly open." [laughs]

Well, falling down, if you fall down, you can just die. You could fall and hit your head-

Yeah, watch that happens to me

... and you're done. Um, you see people get, uh, hit in the head all the times in movies, like get in fist fights and, [laughs] you know, just,

just take punch after punch after punch in the face.

I almost hit my head-

No big deal

... on the, uh, the, the bathroom counter that one time I fell out-

Oh, yeah

... of the shower.

You could've died.

Imagine you see me naked [laughs] just on the bathroom floor, blood's all everywhere.

[laughs]

I'm sitting there. The water's running.

Oh, man.

It's going out into the living room.

Yeah. That, that, that could've killed you dead. And I think that that's why a lot of idiots will, you know, make rash decisions like, "I'm gonna get in a fight at the bar," you know? "That guy said something I didn't like. Let's go out back." One punch to the head, you could be dead.

Have you ever been knocked out?

Just dead. No.

No, I don't wanna-

I wouldn't wanna be

... I don't wanna experience that either.

Yeah. Or, like, explosions go off in movies, and [laughs] people just ... Maybe they go flying a little bit and get up and go away. Your in- your insides would be ruptured [laughs] if you-

[laughs]

... if you were close enough to an explosion to go flying.

I've heard grenades are not necessarily as dramatic as they put them in movies and TV shows.

Really?

Like, they're just, they're just little poofs.

I thought they were worse than when you see them in movies, but I don't know. I'm no, uh-

Well, I do have a live grenade right here that I could-

Well, let's go out in the parking lot and test it. [laughs]

Yeah. [laughs] Let's throw it in the ... Yeah, I'm not gonna throw it.

Yeah. I was gonna say, where's Jade's truck?

I, I was about to say that. [laughs] Dang it.

[laughs] [upbeat music] Finishing up this noon hour of madness and mayhem. What you got, Peaches?

I, I didn't wanna share this on the air because it's quite embarrassing, but-

[laughs] Then share it.

Uh, that, that's-

Share it

... the whole point, is that we share our embarrassments-

[laughs]

... around here. We enter-

[laughs]

We use it for entertainment.

Can't remember what somebody yesterday told me you were saying on the show that made them laugh so hard. Oh, they heard you talking about, uh, stabbing or, uh, slicing down sea turtles. During the afternoon

Oh, yeah, because yesterday was-

Or during the noon hour

Yeah, yeah, no, yesterday was, uh, World Sea Turtle Day.

[laughs]

And I'm, I'm playing this game called The Forest-

[laughs]

... and I'm just butchering these sea turtles.

[laughs]

And my friend Eric's like, "Chop them in the head. It takes one slice rather than hitting their shell."

[laughs]

[laughs] So I'm over there like, "Yeah, let's do it."

Yeah.

Yeah, b- I'm buil- and so we're also on the island killing cannibals.

[laughs] Oh.

And they, they come running after you. They make these weird sounds, and it's quite creepy.

Yeah, I've seen that game.

And so you build these effigies out of body parts-

[laughs]

... from these cannibals. So I'm slicing these people open, too, and of course my sanity is getting lower and lower and lower in the game.

[laughs]

And I'm building, like, the, this shrine of heads and arms and legs.

Ugh.

And Eric's character's at 100% sanity. I'm over here like, "Let's chop them up."

[laughs]

"Let's get it done."

[laughs] Oh, I, I really-

Put the lotion on the skin.

I really need to get my computer working again. [laughs]

Yeah, come watch us play it or-

Yeah

... come stream us. You can stream with us.

I'll join, I'll join in for sure.

Oh, yeah. It's fun. You get to throw tennis balls at cannibals sometimes.

[laughs]

I did, "I'm gonna take that, you naked freak," and I started, I started picking 'em up. [laughs]

So what was the embarrassing thing you were gonna say?

Well, not only yesterday did I try putting something on the dining room table that I no longer have, um-

[laughs] Okay

... I tried sitting down at it.

[laughs]

And I was like, "Oh, that's right. There's no table here anymore." [laughs] So I nearly did a Hulk Hogan leg drop in the kitchen.

You are losing your mind, Peaches. [laughs]

But I have to go to my mirror and tell me, and say how much I love about myself. [laughs]

[laughs] Oh, well, I, I look forward to finding out how your evening goes tomorrow, Peaches. It's a wacky new day in the world of Peaches every day here.

I love killing sea turtles.

[laughs] I'm gonna outfit the... [laughs]

Make that the title of this podcast.

[laughs]

Call Me a Plastic Straw, The Way I'm Just Murdering These...
