I'm a licensed insurance agent right here in Southern Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada, and we're all in Nevada, California as well, and for home and auto insurance, I'm in 48 states across our beautiful country. Yes, I love what I do, and I want to thank the listeners that listen to this program and contacted me for an appointment and we went over their insurance policies. You know, you'd be surprised. You really would be surprised. How many people are just shocked what they could do with their insurance if they get an insurance review? Yes, if you sit down and get a review, you know, most people shop online. I know you have your resources. You know, you see these commercials on TV. Do not get fooled by these commercials on television. It's just to get a phone call. That's all it is. You know, that's that's all it does is generate a phone call. They're not talking about Southern Nevada, especially when they're talking about auto insurance. I've said that over again, in this program, you have to have an insurance agent to guide you through the process. This is why insurance companies have insurance agents, believe me, with AI and everything else, 800 computers, they don't want to get rid of insurance agents no time soon is because we're the voice, we're the eyes, the ears, the voice of the insurance carriers. They need where we are. We're the hands on. We're the ones that look and make sure the risk is is acceptable. You know, we want to make sure that. You know, if we have, if I write your car insurance, let's say for an example, you know, if they said, Well, you know, you need to take pictures of the car. Ai, can't do that. I mean, you can do it yourself, but that's a lot of work for you, and you may take the pictures wrong. It's a certain angle. We have to take the pictures on the auto make sure there's no damage on the cars. Or, you know, we have to verify your address and it just, it's, it's a lot of, you know, do's and don'ts in the insurance industry, that as an agent, 30 years in the business, that you know, I've learned something every single day I go to work. I'm always learning something new. I should say it like that, but as better sounds better, I always learn something new about my customers, about this insurance industry, because it's always evolving, but it really wants to have lower car insurance rates. You know, it really does, because it's not, it's not, it's not really in their benefit to have higher rates. But you have to look at it like the insurance industry looks at it. Cars cost a lot of money today if you purchase a vehicle $60,000 and that's not uncommon these days for a luxury vehicle, or, you know, a large SUV, you pull it off the lot, you pay $60,000 for it, you total it out in a week, you know, and the insurance companies have to compensate that if you put no money down, they have to pay the loan off. And if you sometimes, if you don't get the gap, if you put no no trade in, no money down, purchase the GAP insurance through the finance company if you're financing. But if you're not financing, I encourage you, and you pay cash, you don't lucky person, you can pay cash for a vehicle you know, still purchase the GAP insurance. You can purchase GAP insurance through your insurance carrier, you know, but GAP insurance because you're putting yourself at risk if that car is totaled out, the auto insurance carrier is only going to settle the car claim on actual cash value. Actual Cash Value. What does that mean? That means kind of like, the depreciation value of your vehicle. I like to say kind of like, because, you know, it's a wholesale market, it's a depreciating market, it's a different market. So your car, when you pull it off the lot, you know, you lose about 20% probably even more than that. So you're gonna lose a significant amount of money now, between the finance and that 20% loss, let's say, for an example, 20% it could be even, you know, I've heard more than that sometimes, but let's say on on average, there's a 20% loss of value when you pull a car off the lot, even if you put one mile on it, you know, hey, you've devalued this car. You can't, you can't. Drive it for like, 100 miles, and then take it back to the dealership and go, I don't like this car. You know, I doubt if the dealership want to unwind the deal and take the car back and give you all your money back without some type of penalty. So this is why it's important to have the GAP insurance, and especially if you have an accident. You have an accident, the cars are appraised at actual cash value. It is lower than the value of the car when you pull it off the lot, whether it's a new purchase or pre owned purchase. Hopefully that is News You Can Use. My name is Don Marquez. Now, when you buy a pre owned vehicle, of course, they do offer you the warranty. In some cases, you know, in most cases, they do, depending on the age of the car. So when they offer you to you know that warranty, you can shop for the warranty online. Or your finance company, credit unions do offer competitive rates for warranties. Just keep that in mind. Now, of course, a dealership said, oh, you know, you can take it here, you can bring it here. You can bring it there. Well, what a warranty? With a lot of these warranty companies, you can see if you could take it to the dealership. But I'm gonna tell you something these dealerships, they don't do everything like they used to back in back in the day, the dealership should paint the cars. They used to service the cars. They used to do everything at the dealership. Now they don't. They farm a lot of that business out to collision centers, or they farm a lot of that business out to other other agencies that they're affiliated with. So don't, don't think that you know, because you go through the the dealership, you're getting a better warranty, not necessarily, not necessarily, sometimes going through the dealerships, you may be even paying more for the warranty. Oh, they, of course, they say, well, we can put it in your finance and all that, but you can shop. You can definitely shop. You may or may not have a warranty bill. You may want to pay cash for that warranty, but if you buy a brand new car, that's what I never could understand. But you know, and I've been approached this way, when I purchased a brand new car, they said, Well, you know, we want to get you an extended warranty. I said, No, but why not? I said, because the car comes with a warranty, why would I want to extend the warranty? And they give me the price of the extend the warranty? I said, No, no, thank you, because when the warranty is up on my car, I shop, I shop, and the dealership will still offer you a warranty. Now they may try to pressure you and say, Well, if you don't get the warranty today, it's not going to be offered for you tomorrow or when you ever when you want to come get the warranty. That's okay. Shop on your own. You can find something online, and again, talk to your finance companies or credit unions, especially your credit unions, they do offer competitive rates for your Auto Warranty to repair your vehicle. are offered no obligation insurance reviews. You bring your insurance information in your declaration page on your auto insurance, if you now in homeowners insurance is very rare when people bring in the homeowner's insurance declaration page, but if you have it, that's great, because it tells me the square footage of your home. And again, a lot of homes in the valley are under insured. A lot of your your homeowners policies. If you don't get an update from time to time, your home could be under insured. This is also news you could use. If you file multiple claims on your house, it's going to make you very it's going to make it very difficult for you to shop for insurance. If your insurance company deny you a renewal offer coming up. So what happens is this, you file claims you have like, three or four claims in five years, let's say three claims, two or two claims in five years. A lot of these insurance companies will not renew your homeowner's insurance policy, and this also may apply to your auto insurance policy. If you have multiple claims, they have the right of refusal to refuse your business. And I know some of you get a little upset when the farm let you go because you filed claims. And I get those upset customers, not my customers, but they was with the farm, and the farm said, Thank you, but no, thank you. We don't want your business. And a lot of a lot of times, I get these customers come in and they. Said, Well, you know, I've been with the farm for a long, long, long time, and I had a couple of claims, and they just, they don't want my business anymore, and I was very upset with my agent at the farm, and but that's how the farm operates. I am not the farm. So, you know, when people come in, they get a little upset because the farm let them go. I'm here to help you. I'm here to find insurance for you. I don't represent the farm, but I'm here to represent you now you have to have to realize insurance companies have underwriting guidelines. They have claimed guidelines. Now, if you filing claims consistently, you know you're jeopardizing yourself no more, and your rates gonna go up. Okay? You can't save money that way with your rates going up. Or they may offer a renewal offer to you on your home, auto home or auto insurance, but you do have the option to raise your deductible to keep the price, you know, within reasonable check. You know it is very difficult to shop for auto insurance with multiple claims. I can't express that enough. Let me say that again. I've had people come to me and they've had like, three speeding tickets. And I don't know why you don't get those speeding tickets erased off your driving history. They come to me with three speeding tickets and say, hey, you know, my insurance rates went up. Can you give me a better deal? I'm like, but you have three speeding tickets, you're probably better off staying when you are if your insurance company will allow you to stay there. But again, I don't mind comparing rates if you have no tickets, no accidents in five years, and you've been with the same insurance carrier for at least three years, and your limits of liability is more than the state minimums. This gives you an opportunity to shop for lower car insurance. This no big secret, having the minimum car insurance coverages in the state of Nevada does not offer you a lower competitive rate when you're shopping, it just doesn't because insurance carriers look at your liability, they said, okay, they're carrying the minimum state requirement, fifth 20, which is 25,000 per person, 50,000 each accident and $20,000 property damage. This is all they're carrying their shopping for, for a lower car insurance rate. Well, unfortunately, you probably won't get a competitive rate. But again, I've said this before, if you increase your liability, which is your bodily injury, your first line of coverage on your auto insurance policy to 50,000 per person, 100,000 each accident and $50,000 property damage, it puts you in a much better position to shop for car insurance. Now it doesn't have to be on there for a long period of time, as long as we have a declaration page showing you have more than a minimum coverage when it comes to when you use time to shop, the only thing you have to do is just increase your coverages, and the better coverage to have, I should say, the more to to shop for car insurance is 100,000 per person, 300,000 each accident, $100,000 property damage. Now, if you have those limits of liability, now that puts you in with no tickets, no accidents. You've been with your insurance carrier for at least anywhere from 36 months to 60 months, that puts you in a much better position to shop for car insurance. Yes, it does. I hope you understand that now, and I know what you're thinking. If you're carrying the minimum, well, you know my rate's gonna go up. Yeah, a little bit, but not a lot. A little bit, but not a lot. You can always increase your collision to $1,000 deductible, and don't worry about it, because it may offset that that higher limit liability, because what you want to do is be able to shop for a competitive rate. Now, once you have 100 300 on your liability, and you come to me and you say, Okay, I have 100,000 per person, 300,000 each accident, $50,000 property damage because I listened to your show and I increase the rates. I was talking to an owner of a funeral home, a mortuary, whatever you want to call it, and he told me, he said you'd be surprised how many people come in with accidental only life insurance policies to put their loved ones to rest, you know. And they get very upset with the funeral homes, because the funeral home does not accept accidental only life insurance policy, because this person died of a natural cause, not an accident. Yeah, he said, I said, the people get upset. Don't they understand this? This policy is accidental only? They said no, but they think, because they have an accidental only policy, and a loved one passed away, let's say, for an example, a heart attack or a stroke, that they're entitled for the policy to pay for the funeral services, and they and they can get the money, they can cash in on the policy of with the balance. Listen, listeners, if it's accidental only, it says accidental insurance. I mean it. You have to die from an accident. I can't say it anymore. Any plain, any simple. And I visit these mortuaries to, you know, to talk to, you know, the owners or the managers about insurance, encouraging their customers to get insurance and contact me. All right, I've encouraged them to to do that. I have business relationships with mortuaries that people come to me after they bury a loved one, and they want life insurance. But you know, in my in my research with people that own and managers that own mortuaries, quite a few people walk in the front door and it's unfortunate loved one passed away of natural causes, and they come in with an accidental only life insurance policy or a travel accidental policy, and the loved one passed away of natural causes, that is the wrong policy to purchase all life insurance policy has an accidental clause in it. Okay? Now you get a regular policy that I offer term whole life, universal life, you know,

iuls Now your whole life is we gonna consider, we gonna consider that policy, what we call a final expense policy, I can write you a whole life policy up to $50,000 there is absolutely no physical you will build cash value within, within this policy, up to $50,000 of whole life insurance bills, cash value money in the future, if you need to borrow against you gonna borrow against the money. But I do encourage you to pay it back. But this is the opportunity that you have when you purchase a whole life insurance for, you know, filing expenses. Listen, we all gonna have filing expenses. And just don't think it's just a funeral. Oh, it's more than that. It's the funeral. Gotta pay for that. It's very expensive these days, not after the funeral. It's a mortgage, maybe the rent to pay for a couple of months before you get you know, you close, you have to close out one's estate, your mother, your dad, you know, your family members, maybe even your good friend. You have to close out their estate, if you're the responsible individual. And you're listening to this program and you're saying to yourself, you know what I can call Don Marquez the first of the year? No, you don't have to wait till the first of the year. I accept calls now, I really do. You don't have to wait to the first of the year. You know, the first of the year. I'm gonna tell you what happens the first of the year, you know, New Year's Eve, right? New Year's Day. People, maybe a little, you know, have a little couple drinks, and then, all sudden, we roll in the Martin Luther King holiday, and then the Valentine's Day and the Super Bowl. I mean, this just goes. And then taxes, and then we went Easter, like, Oh my God. And now we in June, almost. This is why, you know, don't, you don't have to wait to the first city. It's just too many events happening. And people say, Well, you know, I just got over paying for Christmas. Christmas getting very expensive, you know. Hey, you know Christmas, you know, we need to be a little like, I'm gonna say conservative when it comes to Christmas, you know. I mean, I see people out there shopping, and, you know, just all over on top of each other, and, you know. And to me, Christmas are for the children. That's for the you know. And now, you know, if you get an ugly sweater, be happy if someone thought about you. And now, during this time of the year, you know, I talked to people that own mortuaries and people that manage mortuaries, I couldn't believe it. They told me, this is their busy season. A lot of people get depressed this time of the year. If you haven't talked to a family member or friend in a long time, pick up the phone, give them a call. Say, Hey, you know what? It's the holidays. I just want to reach out and see how you doing. You know that person may be going through a lot because, you know, they're lonely or no more family members, they lost a spouse. You know, it just may be just them sometimes, you know, picking up the phone and just say, Hey, I just want to reach out to you and just say, Hello, see how you doing. It's been a while since we spoke, and whatever happened to make you disconnect. You know, that's that was years ago. It's water on the bridge. Sometimes we just have to act like adults and let it go and move on with life. Life is, you know, it's short. Our time is an asset, and we don't have a whole lot of it, so we shouldn't waste our time being angry at people. You know who you're dealing with, and you know what you can and can't do with them, but sometimes, you know, picking up the phone and just, hey, I'm just calling you to say, Happy Holidays, you know. I just want to check on you, you know, and just catch up a little bit that could mean a lot to a person again. These these mortuaries tell me this is their busy season, and for for various reasons, people, they got very depressed this time of the year, probably because they're home alone by themselves. It's not like it used to be when they had the wife the children running around in the house. So, you know, a courtesy call would be a nice thing to do a nice gesture during the holidays. I don't want to make sure my customers, you know, have the right policy, because when that day comes for your family members to put you for your final expenses, you know, they are going to wonder, why did you buy this? Why didn't Why did you sell my dad this policy? You know, they come to me and then like, and I was like, what we do, what we need to do is to bury my dad. He had a life insurance policy with you. We don't know who the beneficiary is, and I try to tell them how to contact the insurance company if they don't have a policy. If you have a life insurance policy and you're paying on it and you lost or misplaced it, you can contact your life insurance company and get a duplicate policy. Sometimes they charge a small fee, sometimes they don't. It just really depends on the company. This is Don Marquez at your insurance connection.
