John chapter 21, nine verses is all I need, and I'm going to preach it, and then God's about to do it. Amen?
This is what the Word of God says.
It says, after these things, Jesus showed himself again through the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias.
And in this way, he showed himself.
Simon Peter Thomas called the twin Nathaniel of Cana and Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
And Simon Peter said to them, I go fishing.
And they said to them, we go with you also.
And they went out, and immediately they got into a boat, and that night they caught nothing.
But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore, yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
And Jesus said to them, children, have ye any food?
and they answered him no
and he said to them cast now your net on the right side of the boat
and you will find some
so they cast and they were not able to draw it in for the multitude of fish
therefore that disciple whom Jesus loves said to Peter
it is the Lord
and when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord
he put on his outer garment for he had removed it
watch this
and he plunged into the sea
but the other disciples came in a little boat
for they were not far from land
dragging the net with fish last verse and then as soon as they had come to land they saw a fire of
coals there and a fish laid on it and some bread if they could throw a verse seven i read nine verses
but i just need really i need verse seven tonight verse seven says this throw it up for me guys
actually it says when peter had put on his outer garment for he had removed it the bible says
that he plunged.
I want to preach for the next few minutes.
From the Holy Ghost to you,
God says it's time for your generation
to go overboard.
I wonder if there's anybody in this room
who is ready to go overboard for Jesus.
If that's you, one final time,
slip up your hands.
Father, I thank you for what I sense and what I feel.
Have your way in this room.
Speak, Holy Ghost.
and we'll give you the praise in Jesus' name.
Somebody who believes this, shout amen.
Come on, you may be seated.
And as you're seated, just look at somebody and say,
I'm going overboard.
I'm going overboard, yeah.
I'm going overboard.
If there's anything tonight that you need to know
at the onset of my sermon,
is that no matter that if you've been in faith for days,
months, or years,
There are some things that you should acquire and bring into your faith as first priorities or first understandings.
One of the things, no matter if you have been in faith for days, months, or years,
that you should always keep at the forefront of your faith is that you have to know that God is a living God.
Is there anybody in the room that can testify that you know that God is a living God?
See, the problems with the other prophets are, we put the other prophets in the grave and they stayed in the grave.
They put Muhammad in the grave and he stayed in the grave.
They put Buddha in the grave and Buddha stayed in the grave.
They put Confucius in the tomb and Confucius stayed in the tomb.
But they put your Jesus in the grave.
And three days later, he got back up again because he's not a dead God.
He's a living God.
Is there anybody in the room who has the testimony that God is not dead?
He is surely alive.
And if he's not dead, your prayer life shouldn't be dead.
If he's not dead, your worship life shouldn't be dead.
If he's not dead, your church shouldn't be dead.
Come on, y'all.
Talk to me.
If he's not dead, your youth ministry shouldn't be dead.
But if he is alive, there's got to be somebody who shows up at a conference or on a Sunday morning to say, I'm here as proof he lives.
You do know that that's your assignment, not to be perfect, but to be proof.
Oh, come on, you're way too quiet.
I said, I said, your objective in Christianity is not perfection.
It's to be proof.
It's to show up somewhere and say, I don't have it all together.
And if you would have seen me six months ago or a year ago or three years ago,
I was messed up, jacked up, depressed, and anxious, but only by the grace of God.
I am not what I used to be.
I'm not what I did.
I'm not my past, and I'm not my trauma.
I am a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Is there anybody with a testimony who could jump up on your feet and take a second
and thank God that you are not what you used to be.
I used to be depressed.
I'm not depressed anymore.
I used to be suicidal.
I'm not suicidal anymore.
I used to be in drugs,
but who the Son sets free is free indeed.
Where am I free indeed, people?
Make some noise in the room.
He is a living God.
Still in 2025, he's living.
And if he is a living God, hear me, he must be a moving God.
You do know that God has never stopped moving?
All the way from Genesis to Revelation, he has always moved.
Whether in Genesis, whether the spear was hovering over the face of the deep,
and he moved on the face of the deep.
If he's water, he's living water.
If he's wind, he's a mighty rushing wind.
All the way to the book of Revelation when John says to close the book,
even so come quickly.
He has always been living, and if he's living, he's moving.
Which means that the real test of your faith
is that can you keep up with a God who's always on his way somewhere?
Staying stagnant behind a moving God will always leave you behind a move of God.
Anytime you decide to stand still in a moving God, God will leave you behind.
It's why some of us had a walk with God.
We don't have a walk with God anymore.
Because we decided that they were more important than Him.
and so we stopped walking with him to walk with them,
and now we wonder why we can be in the same service
with all these people jumping and hollering
and wondering why we don't feel what they feel,
because I know that there's a person in this room
who wants to know why are things like they are,
because things haven't always been like that in your life.
My friend, it just means that somewhere in the walk
stopped moving.
But thanks be to God
that he gives us moments to catch up.
Has anybody ever had a catch up moment
with God? Where God
gave you space and he gave
you a moment. Y'all ain't hearing me.
He gave you some time
to catch up and when you
decided you were going to come his way
he said if you draw not to me
I feel like preaching. I
will make up the distance
And I will draw nigh to you.
So you could have had a bad 2024.
That's why God brought you here.
So that this, oh hallelujah, this weekend, this conference can become the place where God redeems a year and a weekend.
And God is looking for somebody who just wants to take a walk.
Somebody who don't mind keeping up with a God who's always on his way somewhere.
And so, my friends, this is the substratum, the beginning of my text.
It starts with men who have moved with the moving God.
Every one of the disciples that I read to you in the first verses, they had moved with him.
They had seen his power.
They had seen what he could do.
because if Jesus ever got in your city,
your city would never be the same.
If Jesus ever got in your city,
the blind would see and the deaf would hear.
If Jesus got into your city,
whatever was oppressed and possessed
had to come out free up under the power of the Holy Ghost
that rested on the anointed one, Yeshua.
Is there anybody that knows
that if Jesus ever shows up somewhere,
something is about to change?
they had moved with him
and then things got crazy
because how many know
that just because you walk with God
it doesn't mean that life won't get crazy
see I didn't get many amens there
but there are some people who have walked this thing out for a while
who can testify that if you serve God long enough
you'll learn that suffering is part of the process
and things went crazy
and the text says
that all of a sudden
he shifted
the way he wanted to show up.
Can I submit to you
that maybe COVID
wasn't just a virus?
Can I submit to you
that maybe the craziness
of the last four years
wasn't just politicians and stuff.
Can I submit to you that perhaps God is ready,
oh hallelujah,
to do something in the earth with a new generation,
with a real revival and a real move of the spirit.
Can I submit to you that perhaps this moment
is foreordained by God
to do something great in your generation?
Does anybody believe that revival is right around the corner?
They had walked with him, and then he shifted.
And in the shift, watch this, they missed him.
You know it's possible to come to Winterfest and God shift and you miss?
It's possible to get caught up on TikTok and Facebook tonight and miss him.
It's possible to get so distracted with what's going on around you that you miss the fact that God took a left while you stayed straight.
Because one of my greatest fears with your generation is that all of your expectation is in a form of presentation of God.
Oh, it's quiet.
That the only thing you have in your book bag of faith is you have what's happened for mom and dad.
And grandma and grandpa.
Y'all ain't saying nothing, but I'm going to preach it anyway tonight.
All you have is what has happened in days gone by.
And youth camps gone by.
And Winterfest gone by.
and church services gone by.
So because you don't have anything fresh,
all you expect is something old.
And when all of your expectation
lives in a form of presentation,
you will always miss the next manifestation of God.
I'm so happy that Azusa Street happened.
I am thankful for Brownsville.
I'm so glad the 10 revivals happened in the 50s and 60s.
And I'm thankful that a few years ago, Asbury College happened and began something fresh.
But I have this inner knowing, this inner feeling that God is about to shift.
And when God makes this shift, no devil in hell is going to be able to stop it.
When God makes this next shift, no principality or power is going to be able to stop it.
When God makes this next shift, he ain't going to look for a 30-year-old,
but he'll find him a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old,
fill him with the Holy Ghost, and change the world.
And I just wonder, on a Saturday night,
is there anybody who would say, Pastor Josh,
if he's looking for somebody that will make the shift,
I'm ready, I'm open, I'm available.
I say yes if I'm talking to you.
Somebody give Jesus some praise right now.
But he made the shift.
And they missed him.
What a tragedy.
The text says, and in this way he showed himself.
They missed him and it sent them into chaos.
Is some of your chaos only because you missed him in a season you were supposed to follow him?
Are you having problems?
Because instead of chasing him, you chase them.
And by the way, following Jesus is not the apex of discipleship.
Oh, it's quiet.
Because some of us have been taught that all we need to do is just follow Jesus.
The problem with that is you can follow him at a distance and never know him.
So the apex of discipleship is not following Jesus, it's imitating Jesus.
Because to imitate, you've got to be intimate.
Oh, hallelujah.
I said to imitate, you've got to be intimate.
You've got to be close enough to know that the hand goes this way and the face goes that way and the movement goes this way.
Are there any burning young people in the room who say this year in 2025, I'm not going to follow him from afar, but I'm about to get in his face.
I'm about to get in the face of Jesus.
And whatever he does, I do too.
He moves, I move too.
But once again, they missed him.
And when they missed him, chaos ensued.
And Peter, the chief disciple, steps up in the chaos and says, I'm making a decision.
Never make decisions in chaos.
Are y'all hearing me tonight?
Peter makes a decision in chaos and he says this.
He says, I go fishing.
Now I ain't going to lie to you.
When I heard that, I said, ain't nothing wrong with that.
Come on, somebody.
Where are my fishermen in the room?
You know, we at the ocean right now.
You can catch something big here at the ocean.
You ain't catching something big at the ocean.
Peter says, I go fishing.
And on the surface, it sounds good.
But there couldn't have been a more detrimental thing to say in a moment like that.
Because before he found Jesus, he fished.
In other words, Peter was saying, fellas, I don't know where he is.
And I don't know what he's doing.
And I haven't felt him in a long time.
Because I don't know what's going on.
I'm going back to a place I have already come from.
And can I tell somebody tonight?
You don't have time to go back to places you have already come from.
I'm going to preach it whether you like it or not tonight.
But you have overcome some things.
Yes, you have.
If you look back over your life, there were some things that tried to hit you and knock you down.
There were some car accidents that tried to kill you.
There were some things that happened in your family with your mama and your daddy.
There were some things that happened around you that the enemy tried to use to destroy you.
But look at this.
You are still here in a new year.
2025, the enemy tried, but he did not triumph.
God had a plan for your life.
I dare somebody who's thankful that it didn't kill you and it didn't take you out and it didn't make you crazy and it didn't make you kill yourself.
Why don't you give Jesus some praise to let him know I'm thankful that I made it through where other people died.
I'm still here.
Where my friends didn't make it out, I made it out.
Thank you, Jesus.
Somebody ought to give him praise if you're still here.
I'm still here.
You might not be where you want to be.
But if you look back over your life, you are definitely further than where you used to be.
And if you're making progress at all, then you ought not stop.
But Peter said, I go fishing.
He was saying, I'm going back to a place I have already come from.
And most preachers will preach that, and it will be all right.
But can I go deeper tonight?
Come on, grab your floaties and your snorkel.
Let's go to deep in the pool.
They say don't be deep, but y'all do like calculus and stuff.
Isn't it crazy?
They will say don't be deep, but they'll let you solve equations and do algorithms.
The devil is a liar.
That's the reason why your generation gets taken out by every storm.
Because we have preached you into a soft surface place in God.
But the devil is a liar.
It's time for you to rise up, dive deep, and get everything God has prepared for your life.
I feel better after saying that.
So he says, I'm going fishing.
It's the first say I'm going back to where I've come from.
But watch this.
If we don't go back to where we've come from, we will go back to places of comfort.
and I would dare say that there are many of us in this room tonight
that we haven't gone all the way back to where we've come from
but when we can't find Jesus
we get real comfortable with where we are in God
and don't do anything with it
but can I tell you, I feel like preaching tonight
but can I tell you there is no such thing as being cold and comfortable
can I tell you that if you're going to walk this thing out
you're going to have to learn how to get out of the boat
and be uncomfortable every once in a while,
do you realize that until you get uncomfortable,
that the comforter can't come in your life?
Some of you are missing.
I'm going to preach this thing tonight.
Some of you are missing out on a move of the Spirit
because you're too comfortable.
But I hear the Holy Ghost say,
if you'd ever learn how to get out of the boat,
praise a little different, worship a little different,
do something a little different,
you would see a move of the Spirit into your life.
I dare somebody to get a little bit uncomfortable and give Jesus some crazy praise in this room tonight.
No, I said get uncomfortable.
I said the kind of uncomfortable praise that says I don't care what you think about me.
And I don't care if you post about me.
I need God to move.
So I'm going to jump, dance, holler, shout if I need to.
Peter goes back to where he's come from
and then he goes back to a place of comfort.
And to be honest, Demetrius,
I wasn't really mad that Peter had gone back.
At least he was a fisherman.
My real problem in this text are these other dudes
that aren't fishermen
who decide they're going to go fishing too?
You ever gone fishing with somebody who don't know how to fish?
It's like the most miserable experience in the whole wide world.
You wonder how I know?
Because I'm that guy.
They have to spend time baiting the hook.
You know the worm goes there, caught a boot.
You know, like, it's the other guys in this text who make the statement.
you went back
so I go back too
they don't go back out of first hand relationship
they go back out of second hand relationship
with Jesus
and some of us in this room
only go when they go
that we praise
when she praises
we pray when he prays
we go in for God when they go in for God.
Y'all ain't saying nothing tonight.
We only do what they do.
And I came to tell you that the Holy Ghost made me very aware
that your grandmama's faith is great,
and your granddaddy's faith is awesome,
and your pastor's faith is amazing.
But at some point in time, you can't live your faith off their faith.
You've got to get your own walk with Jesus
and walk this thing out for yourself.
No wonder it's not real.
It's not yours.
Did you hear what I said?
No wonder it's not real to you.
It's not your faith yet.
No wonder we have to prod you to praise.
You've never really met Jesus for yourself.
These other dudes in the text decide that because Peter went, I went.
Because he goes, I go.
And before they know it, they are heading in the wrong direction altogether.
And in that how it works, that before you know it, you can find yourself on fire in one season and in the dark on another.
Wondering, how did I get here?
And why did this happen to me?
And the devil knows and sees because if you know your Bible, what happened next is crazy.
Can I preach this to y'all tonight?
The text says that all of a sudden the wildest thing in the whole text happens.
The Bible says, and immediately they got into a ship.
You got to know that's crazy because they had forsaken their boats in earlier chapters.
They didn't have ships.
But what is it about the devil that when he sees you going back,
he always provides the vehicle necessary to take you further than what you want to go?
what is it about the devil that when he sees you going the wrong direction
he knows how to properly position a ship
that will drag you into places your life was never
designed to go you know the ships you know the relationships
you know how you were loving Jesus until
he came along and now instead of the altar he wants you at the back seat.
You were all about Jesus until she showed up.
And now there is not a shred of God around you and you're wondering why you're feeling
all that you're feeling because the enemy had a ship waiting.
Can I go deeper?
Not just relationships.
How about this one?
Friendships.
you know how you only talk like that
dress like that, walk like that, move like that
when you're around them
what if I told you that your circle is killing your walk
your circle is killing your walk
it's keeping you bound
the wrong friendships will sink your destiny
The wrong friendships will kill your purpose.
And before you leave Winterfest, you need to grab your cell phone and your social media and go through and see where this ship is really taking me.
Because that's how you know whether it's from the Lord and whether it's from the enemy is where it takes you once you get in.
Oh, I said where it takes you once you get in.
Not how good looking it is, not how fine he is and how fine she is.
You've got to go deeper than that.
Get off the surface and take a look and say, if I get with you, where will you take me once we're done?
You know the ships.
Can I give you one more?
You know the fellow ships.
I'm going to sound so old school.
And it's okay.
But not everything that the enemy has for you is tied up in people.
Your eyes and your ears are still gates the last time I read my Bible.
And what fellowship does light have with darkness?
You think it's a movie.
It's an entryway for darkness.
You think it's just a beat.
I'm going to preach it.
But it's an entryway for darkness.
You think it's just that.
but it's an entryway for darkness.
And some of you wonder why six months ago you were so happy
and now you're so depressed
and you haven't changed your friend group
and you haven't gotten a boyfriend,
but you are watching and you are listening to stuff
that is compromising your spirit and tormenting your soul.
But I feel like I'm in a room tonight
with some people who say,
ask for me in my house.
Oh, y'all are hearing me.
Ask for me in my house.
Know ye not that ye are a temple, a house for the Holy Ghost.
As for me, in my house, we're going to watch what we watch.
And we're going to take care of what we listen to in 2025.
I go fishing, we go too.
Immediately we get in a ship and watch the progression of the text.
Before they know it, they have gone from light to dark.
Look at the text.
read your Bible
they go from walking in the light
as he is in the light
to working in the night
with people
and in places they were never called
to be
and some of you in this room
hear me by the Holy Ghost
the Lord told me in prayer
that some of you are in the middle
of dark places
with dark people
and you are throwing your net
every way you know how
trying to do it like you used to do it
except every time you put in the work
there is nothing you get in return
and you are growing frustrated
and discouraged and angry
because how can I be putting this much effort
into everything I knew to work
and it not work anymore?
All night throwing their net
and getting nothing.
Life isn't fun when there's no fruit and reward.
That's why you're questioning should you still live.
It's because for all your work,
you're using your gift and you're doing it in the wrong place.
You are using your anointing in the wrong spot.
And wonder why there's no harvest.
Oh, come on, y'all.
And there is no benefit
because you were never meant to sing for them.
You weren't meant to talk for them.
You weren't meant to dance for them.
You weren't meant to do it for them.
Baby, when he dropped that anointing on you
and got you into the earth,
it was all for him and all for his glory.
And the only way you're going to find joy again
is when you take it out of the darkness
and pull it back into the light.
But there they are.
I'm almost done.
In the night, working and getting nothing.
And if I left the text here, it would be nothing more than a text that becomes a trophy for the enemy.
It would be one for the devil, none for God.
Even the closest that walked with him couldn't make it.
So if they can't make it, nobody can make it.
But aren't you glad, I'm done, that the text doesn't stop there.
Aren't you glad that Jesus redeems?
Y'all way too quiet.
I said, aren't you glad that Jesus redeems?
He redeems time.
He redeems gifts.
He redeems people.
That's why the Bible says, oh, let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
Whether they're sitting in the top or on the front row, if you've been redeemed, there ought to be a so in your spirit.
In fact, I'll give you three seconds in this room.
If you've been redeemed in any type of way, open up your mouth and let the redeemed of the Lord say so at Premier Winterfest.
Shout so loud that all of Ocean City hears you.
Shout so loud that every demon hears you.
Every principality hears you.
Yeah, yes, yes.
I'm unashamed.
yes I've been saved
yes I've been delivered
yes I've got the blood of Jesus on my life
yes I'm one of his children
yes I found a way
yes I'm a new creation in Christ
one more time
let the redeemed of the Lord
take the roof
off this place
right now
shout, shout, shout
The text says that even in the darkness,
the text says that God was so powerful
and Jesus was so mighty
that all of a sudden,
what was in darkness didn't stay in darkness.
The text said, I feel like preaching.
But in the morning, Jesus, I came to announce to the darkness that sorrow may last for a night.
But joy unspeakable, full of glory, peace that passes all understanding.
Something is bursting through the darkness even as we speak.
But in the morning, watch.
But in the morning, Jesus.
You know what I had to thank him for?
I had to thank him for every moment that I left him and he never left me.
Because if he was standing in the shore in the morning,
then that means he was standing on the shore during my night seasons.
And I have to thank him.
Hallelujah.
That even though I left him, he never left me.
And that's a word for some young person in this room who thinks you've gone too far
and thinks you've done too much and thinks that Jesus will never love you.
I came to tell you, he will never leave you nor forsake you.
He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
My friend, when everybody else walks away from you in times of pain and trauma,
please know that if you look at the short places of your life,
the one person that will always be there will be J-E-S-U-S, Jesus.
Jesus, can anybody thank him that he never left you?
Can anybody thank him that even in your darkness he stayed?
Yes, even in your darkness, he stayed.
When you cursed at him, when you said, I'm never going back to youth group, he stayed.
And through the dew of a new morning, not only did he stay, he speaks.
Is there anybody thankful that he doesn't just stay, but he doesn't give you the silent treatment?
That he is so eager to get you back from where you went that he will stay, and at the right time, he will open up his mouth and speak.
And here's a word for somebody.
The word of the Lord has never lost a battle, and it never will.
So when Jesus speaks, everything else has to take a knee.
when Jesus speaks
everything else has to let go
when Jesus speaks everything else has to let
him in
and through the dew of a new morning
watch it
don't miss it
he says
I was waiting for something real profound
something I could tweet
post on social media
come on somebody
listen to what he says
through the dew of a new morning
he says
children
preach it. I can preach it.
Because he didn't call them
according to their condition.
He called them
according to their position.
See,
some of you think
you are what you're in.
But that is not your identity.
You are not the drug person they say
you are. You are not the alcoholic
they say you'll be. You are not,
come on, the darkness they say you're in.
My friend, the devil is a liar.
You will forever,
Always be to God one of his children.
Whether you are lost or found.
Y'all are way too quiet.
You will always be children.
Whether you are messed up or all together.
You will always be children.
Whether you are in the club or at the altar.
You will always be children.
Is anybody thankful that God doesn't give up on his children.
But at the right time he knows how to call you back to himself.
Children.
Watch.
Here comes.
All right.
Here comes profound.
Here comes the crazy life changing stuff.
Children.
Watch.
Have ye any food?
Huh?
You mean you going to go through all that work and you going to ask them if they got food?
You Jesus.
You supposed to say something profound.
But I realize he is asking the one question that nobody in their condition would want to answer.
Because with saying, have you any food, he is drawing a comparison between their boat and his shore.
He is trying to get them to see, is there anything out there worth you giving me up for?
For all the time you've been with that boyfriend, is there any fruit?
For all that time that job has taken you away from church, is there any food?
For all the time you've been hanging out with that, is there any food?
Because when you were with me, you had five loaves and two fish that I turned into, oh hallelujah, 5,000 happy meals.
When you were with me, you never lacked.
When you were with me, you were in light.
With one question, he is letting them see that life out there pales in comparison to life in here.
what you're looking for out there
pales in comparison to the life he gives
when you go all in for him.
And so you would think in the moment
that he was saying nothing and he says this,
now throw your net on the right side of the boat
and you'll find something.
You gotta remember, Peter's on this boat.
Can you imagine you have fished all night
and got nothing and you a master fisherman
and then all of a sudden one guy from the shore says,
hey, do it again.
You know Peter was like, I'm going to cut this dude's ear.
I already did in the previous chapter.
But how many know that when Jesus says to do it and you do it,
you always get what Jesus said you could have.
That's how powerful he is.
They cast the net in and pulled it, except this time with one word from God.
They got more in a moment than they had ever gotten in a lifetime of fishing.
Can I tell you what the Holy Ghost said to tell some of you?
You're going to get more in a weekend than you have ever gotten, oh, hallelujah, in your faith walk with God.
Some of you don't even know it, but this next encounter that you're about to have with Jesus is about to shake.
and shape your life in such a way where you go from, oh,
life to life more abundantly in just a weekend.
And you would think that if you got all that from a word,
Peter would have known.
But he didn't know.
It took the disciple whom Jesus loved to tell him,
wait a second.
See, that's why you got to watch who you sit next to in service.
because not everybody has your best interest
when it comes to the things of the Lord for your life.
Not everybody wants you to get everything from God.
But I'm so glad that when Peter positioned his life,
even though he was messed up,
he knew to keep himself around good people
because the disciple who I'm talking about is John.
You know John.
John's the worshiper.
John's the one that's why they're saying,
can I sit at his feet?
He says, let me lay.
He said, let me lay my head on his heart.
You know John.
John's a crazy worshiper in your youth group.
And can I just make a prophetic declaration?
This year, John, be John.
I'm calling every John in this room to not hold back, to not let up,
to not care what anybody thinks about you,
because for every one John, there's 30 Peters who are waiting for somebody to tell them where Jesus is
in the middle of a dark night.
And John, you don't even know it, but your crazy worship is pointing everybody else in the right direction.
In fact, if I got any Johns in the room, I dare John to jump up on your feet and give Jesus some crazy praise.
To let your row know, to let your youth group know, to let your church know that there is some Holy Ghost power in this room.
In 2025, John run.
In 2025, John dance.
In 2025, John shout.
Whatever it takes to point everybody around you to the presence of the Lord, let John be John.
Stand to your feet, everybody.
And you would think, Demetrius, you would think that he would have known.
But Peter still didn't know until John said, wait a second, I know that voice.
That's not just anybody, John.
That's not a concerned citizen.
That's Jesus.
And in one moment, everything I preached right now brings us to the apex of why I stand on this stage tonight.
Because though Peter recognizes that it's Jesus, he recognizes he has a decision to make.
Either I stay in the boat or I go to the Lord.
Either I stay with the provision or I go to the provider.
Either I stay with the blessing or I go to the blesser.
Either I stay with the benefits or do I go to the benefactor.
Watch.
Do I hang with the stuff that he does or do I swim to the Savior that he is?
Nothing this weekend has brought you, has brought you to this place.
You are standing on the edge of a boat.
And I didn't come here to get you to make another decision.
You've made too many of those.
No, no, no.
You have made too many decisions.
Every once in a while, you have got to move from decision to commitment.
When I was a youth pastor, the greatest pain was watching somebody come to Jesus
and make a decision for Jesus, but never make a commitment to Jesus.
And in one year I saw him, and the next year I didn't.
The devil is a liar.
Peter stands at the place and says, this is it.
Either I stay in less than, stay in half than, don't miss this, or I finally go overboard.
And the Holy Ghost brought me here to tell you that it's time for your whole generation
to go overboard for Jesus.
No more cute Christianity.
The culture's too crazy.
The culture's too strong.
What the devil is putting out there these days
is too much for you to have cute, cultish Christianity.
For you to come in and do a couple songs,
listen to a sermon,
and then just go home and never affect anything.
No, this is the moment.
That God is galvanizing a generation and saying that when you go overboard, I'm about to go into overflow.
When you go into overboard, I'm about to release a move of my spirit that no person has seen.
No likes have ever been known.
And so Peter puts on his outer garment for he had removed it.
I came to prophetically announce to you to put it back on again.
Because the devil in this last season took off your purpose.
And he took off your destiny.
And he took off your gift.
And said God would never want to use a person like you again.
But I came to tell you prophetically the devil is a liar.
Pick that gift back up again.
Pick that anointing back up again.
Pick it back up again.
And put that thing on.
Normally when you go swimming, you take stuff off.
But in the kingdom, it's upside down.
And for what you're about to do in this next season, you ain't going to lose anything.
You're about to gain everything you need to become everything you're called to be.
And Peter leaps.
I'm ready for you to take a leap of faith that is bigger than you've ever taken.
He leaps and he swims.
can you see him swimming
can you see him saying
Jesus don't go anywhere
I'm on my way
and I see Peter swim to the shore
and pull himself over the shore
and when he does
he's about to hug Jesus
and I can see him Demetrius about to hug him
and I can hear him say
Jesus
what's that smell
what's that smell Jesus
because I thought
that I left
all of that on the boat
because the text says
when he went overboard
the first thing he recognizes
is that there
is a fire with some coals
and a fish laid on it
and I could hear Jesus say
Peter you thought you had
to give up the fish
to get me.
But here's the good news, Peter.
Out there, it was raw.
Out there, it was sushi.
Out there, it only had potential.
But since you chose me more than the stuff,
and you chose me more than the people,
and you chose me more than the things,
I want you to know, Peter,
I had what you needed the whole time.
And here's the difference.
Out there it's raw, but in here where I'm at, it's prepared.
And the Lord said to tell you tonight that your fish is in the fire and it's already prepared.
Your future is already prepared.
Your spouse is already prepared.
God is waiting for a generation to go overboard and stay overboard for the rest of your life.
So every hand lifted in this room.
Because that's how swimmers start.
Tonight, God is about to move in your life.
But he cannot do it until the prerequisite of overboard begins.
So I'm about to give an altar call.
This ain't for the people who want to live halfway.
this ain't for the people
who still want to do what you want to do
and have a little bit of Jesus
no no no
this is for the radical
this is for the revivalist
this is for the radical
this is for the revivalist
this is for the radical
this is for the revival
lifted and your voice raised one.
Hallelujah. I knew this was
the word tonight. Two.
Yes, if I'm talking to you, this is only
for the radical. This is only
for the revivalist. This is only
for the radical. This is only for
the revivalist. It's time to take
a leap. It's time to take a
leap. It
28, 26, overboard, overboard.
Fill it all in.
I want everybody who can.
I want you all down here.
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
That's right.
That's right.
I'm going overboard.
I don't care who sees me tonight.
Jesus, I'm coming your direction.
Jesus, I want you more than anything else.
I need Jesus.
I got to have Jesus.
going overboard, going overboard
going overboard, going overboard
come on, close your eyes
lift up your hands and just begin right there
where you are, come on, begin to pray
begin to seek God for just a moment
come on, that's the overboard moment
there's a space before you encounter
Him where you go overboard
come on, singers, come on, singers, you come
come on, man, I'm telling you, the Lord is about
to do it in this room, there's about to be
a sweeping encounter with Jesus
there's about to be a sweeping encounter
with the Spirit of God. Somebody here came in this room
who is not going to leave the same. This is your moment. Go overboard.
Now here's the deal.
I want you to begin to open up your mouth all across this room and just begin
to worship and praise God. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Don't wait for singers. Don't wait for a band. Come on. Just begin to open
your mouth. Come on. Just begin to worship. Just begin to worship.
Just begin to worship.
Just begin to praise.
Just begin to worship.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it
are. Don't get distracted by nobody or nothing. Open up your mouth and begin to worship all across
this room. Yes, Lord. Yes. Lord. Yes. Yes, Lord." Yes
