What is ...But God?

A weekday morning devotional series written by Aaron Marcarelli and hosted by Chad McBeam

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?”
Romans 8:28-31 NASB1995
I’ve been reading a lot in Romans lately. I’m taking a Masters class in the Reformation right now. Martin Luther, who led the reformation by posting a list a suggestions for the church, called the 95 thesis. He did this after teaching a Bible study on the book of Romans. Luther’s major problem with the church was that the church had become works a based corrupted entity. Luther wanted the church to change and seek God. He went back to what Jesus said in John 3:16-17. ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”
Luther said it was by faith in Christ alone that we are saved!
We as followers of Christ know this to be true. Therefore, our God is bigger, better and stronger than any foe, any sickness any struggle we are facing now. We must be vigilant in our sagacity to let God take all our fear and trepidation. We must trust in the living God. We must change our perspective, for we already have the victory! Therefore, We must walk in the confidence of His glory, so that others may see that our strength and our grace and our perseverance and our resilience and our joy comes from the living God who will never leave us or forsake us!
Lord thank you for the change of perspective. Thank you that you are our side! Thank you for winning for us. Help us to persevere and usher others onto the winning side. Give us the right perspective to trust in you through all our trials and tribulations. Knowing that you work, all things to together for good, because we love you and we trust you and because we are called according to Your purpose. Thank you Lord for all these things in Jesus Name we pray Amen…
