Hello, hi, and welcome or welcome back to the Strategic Magic podcast.

In this episode, we are diving into one of the most important things you need to know about business and vocational astrology, which is that your midheaven is not your career.

I feel so strongly about this that it deserves its own episode. So we're gonna dive into exactly what I mean by that and the role that the midheaven plays when it comes to defining exactly what your career should look like according to your astrology and your birth chart.

So if you're curious about what that looks like, then keep listening.

One of the biggest pet peeves that I have when it comes to business and career and vocational astrology is that when people assume that the midheaven is the only placement that you need in order to figure out what your career is, or that they equate your midheaven is your career.

Both of these ideas are completely false. And it really does go back to truly understanding that astrology is a language. It's a conversation, and you have to look at the entirety of your birth chart in order to understand how to answer the question of what is the best career for you, or what is your purpose, or any of that.

It doesn't just equate to looking at one placement. You have to look at the entirety of the birth chart and the conversation that is going on between placements in order to truly understand what this means.

So I often hear from people, what is the best placement to understand what your career is? And so often I hear the wrong answer being shared on social media, on absolutely everywhere when it comes to astrology and career, which is that your midheaven is your career.

And y'all already know how I feel about the midheaven. I don't play about the midheaven. It is my favorite placement. It's also the placement that I think that business and vocational astrology really begin to flourish, and is a really great starting point to this work and how important it is.

But when it comes to specifically understanding what your career looks like, too often people begin and end the conversation with the midheaven, and they assume that your midheaven is your career placement, which is completely false.

So I wanna dive deeper into this exactly and explain why your midheaven isn't your career, and instead, the role that it plays in understanding how to answer this question of what is the best career for you based on your astrology and your personal birth chart.

So to begin, we have to really break down what the midheaven is. I already have episodes that break down the midheaven in further detail. I do highly recommend you go back and listen to those episodes after this one, because again, I don't play about the midheaven. I love talking about it, and I think that it is so relevant to this conversation.

But the midheaven is the highest point in your birth chart, and therefore it is the most visible. It's the part of your birth chart that is seen at the highest point. And if we're following traditional Hellenistic astrology, your midheaven can be anywhere from the 7th house all the way to the 12th house, depending on your birth information, though it is most commonly in the 9th, the 10th, or the 11th house.

But what's so important about this is that because the midheaven is so visible, and it is the highest point of your birth chart, this is also representative of our legacy energy. And this is why this is the perfect placement to begin this journey of understanding your career and your occupation and your vocation, starting with the midheaven because of that visibility.

The midheaven is going to point towards what your specific legacy energy is, and the easiest path to achieve it.

So when it comes to understanding the role that your midheaven plays according to career, we have to again go back to how are we defining career? I talked about this in the previous episode of the podcast, but it can be defined by looking at your occupation and the work that is done over time, which perfectly aligns with the role the midheaven plays.

If your midheaven is your legacy energy, that automatically places it and dictates it as work that requires a significant amount of time to be put into. It's not something that's going to evolve immediately or miraculously. It's going to be a culmination energy, right?

So when it comes to even activating the midheaven or learning how to work with its energy, it's not just about understanding, okay, what house is it in? What sign is it in? What are different aspects? What are the decans? What are the bounds that the midheaven placement in particular is residing in? It's also considering the fact that your midheaven is going to take time to evolve, and part of that is through the relationship that you personally build with it, especially if this is something that's new to you or you don't really have any placements that are alongside the midheaven. This is maybe new territory within your birth chart for you to be working with. It's gonna take time for you to learn how to do that.

That was certainly my journey in my birth chart. I have a Taurus midheaven in the 10th house, and I don't have any other placements in my 10th house. So it took me quite a bit of time to understand how to work with the energy of the midheaven and to align it in a way that really works for me.

But what's really great about this is that once you build a relationship with the midheaven and understand how to utilize it as your legacy energy, it begins to unfold itself in new, unexpected ways that really do help you to move further along when it comes to the career and the occupation that is best suited for you, and most importantly, uncovering what your vocation is.

So this leads me back to why the midheaven isn't your career. The reason why it's not your career is because it is going to be the effect of the work that you put into, not the cause of it and not the definition of it.

If we consider what a legacy is, that is the culmination of the work that is put into a certain effect over time, right? That means that it requires you to put in that work first to get the outcome of it.

So the midheaven itself is an energy of where you are striving towards. It's the end goal. It is where you want to be. But understanding how to build your vocation starts with choosing the right occupation. From there, it's understanding the work that is most meaningful to you, and how the two come together in order to build a career which lead you down the path of your legacy.

So really, the Midheaven is just one of many points within your birth chart that come together in order to help you uncover the best career for you. It's not the first place and it's not the last, but it is one of the placements that work together and that are brought together in order to answer the question of what is the best career for you.

That's why whenever people say that your career is solely defined by your midheaven, it leaves out entirely too much that exists within the rest of your birth chart. The midheaven speaks to a specific point in your career journey, and that's why it's so important to have it work alongside other placements and not be the sole placement that defines what your career actually is.

So even though the Midheaven is a great starting point for this work, it goes so far beyond just the Midheaven because no one placement can answer this question of the best career, the best occupation, or even what your vocation truly is. It has to be in combination with the rest of your birth chart, and most importantly, what your natal promise is truly pointing to when it comes to career, occupation, and vocation.

If you're interested in diving deeper into this specifically within your birth chart, I do recommend that you book a vocational reading with me. This is a one-on-one reading where we dive deep into your birth chart and look at the specific story that is being uncovered through not just your Midheaven, but also the other placements within your chart. And we really break down exactly what the best career, vocation, and occupation are for you so that you're able to start living that.

The link to book a vocational reading, as well as everything else that was mentioned in this episode can be found in the show notes below. Thanks so much for listening. I can't wait to see you in a vocational reading, and in the next episode. Bye!
