Genecia Alluora: Hello, gorgeous and welcome to today's episode. My name is Genecia Alluora. And in this episode, I'm going to talk about better business boundaries that will help you to love your life again, I promise. Now, do you need better business boundaries? You are not alone. You know when everything in your business feels like it's too much. Clients contacting you day and night, WhatsAppping you every single moment, 12 Midnight also write to you, paying late or making ridiculous demands, and then not even say thank you to you. Or what about those annoying people who keep asking your time for free or just to pick your brain? If you have had enough of taking on everyone else's problems, you need boundaries. Boundaries give you back your confidence in your business, reduce 90% of your stress, and help you to go bouncing through your work day. Now, this is a very serious topic. In fact, one of my favorite topics as well is a lesson that I've learned over the years, and that is why at this moment, when I share this episode with you, this knowledge is about to become yours.

Genecia Alluora: Now, why do women in particular have so much trouble setting boundaries around their time, money, and energy? Because we believe that we have no choice. Because when we believe that, we also believe that we want to be accommodating and nice because women play nice. And because women helping women should be free. And because people, we want people to like us. Harsh but true. When you really get this lesson, you will really see that having strong boundaries is actually the most loving and respectful thing you can do and one that will attract a better quality of life, better quality of clients, friends, and other people into your life. So let's start with something really easy but very symbolic. Boundaries around your time is key. When I first started my business, I would coach people at 5 AM. Yes, sometimes early. It sucked big time. And I wasn't present with my clients or happy getting up at dawn. It made me grumpy and sleepy for the rest of the day. Now, why did I do it? Because I thought that if I said no to my international clients, they wouldn't book me with me again. I wanted to be accommodating even if it affected my quality of life.

Genecia Alluora: So my mentor told me that turning down many international clients will help me to free up my time because he said, I am more important than money. They will find another coach who suits their needs better. And guess what? You will find more than enough clients that will work with your new and improved schedule. Plus you'll be way much happier. You see, your better time boundaries means a few things. So I'm going to prescribe to you a few boundaries, what we call steps, okay? They will help you to really build up your thinking process. Now, first, you decide when you want to work. Do you want to do evenings and weekends or not? Like for me, I only do coaching clients on Mondays to Thursdays. Weekends are only by request and whether I want to do it or not. What's the earliest or latest you are happiest with working? When do you work best. Can you take off a whole day completely from client work? Now it's okay to have your business to be exactly the way you want it. There are more than enough clients out there for you. So I set a schedule. I use equity.

Genecia Alluora: Equity is the software that I use to schedule my clients. So I will only work from morning 9 AM to 5 PM and only on certain days of the week. So I don't really take on every single day. I usually group my coaching clients together. So the rest of the times I can focus on either batching content or taking my off day and doing other things that is important in the business. So two, my prescription for you is to create a new policy and inform your clients about it. Just make a simple announcement on your website or newsletter. For example, from first of May, opening hours are X, Y, Z. No need to apologize or over explain because it's your own business after all. And no need to beg for understanding. Just give them notice, anytime up to a month is fine, and then that's the end of it. Remember, people make time for dentist and doctor appointments. Even lawyer, they make appointments. So you don't have to be super convenient for anyone and everyone. I know the fear is that you lose all your clients, but trust me, that won't happen. I am a living proof, my dear.

Genecia Alluora: You might even free up your time and energy to write a book, launch a podcast in 48 hours, create some programs that don't even require your time or have energy for some well defined pro bono work. Number three, the third prescription, enforce the new boundary. Now, people will try to push the new boundary. Can you make an exception for me, please? Trust me, it will happen within 24 hours of you mentally and emotionally making the decision. I bet you to your last dollar. And seriously, the first time you enforce this, you feel like the biggest bitch in the world. But stick to it, okay? Because you'll feel amazing. Now, here's something to think about. I used to offer my clients up to 55 slots a week. Okay, that's seriously crazy. That's why early on I said, right, I use equity now. I had maybe 10 to 15 clients a week, which was my idea of a happy workload. So I was just trying to accommodate them by offering them appointments anytime from 6 AM or7 AM to 8 PM or 9 PM. Five days a week. Can you believe that? It's the old Genecia.

Genecia Alluora: I'm not joking. This is really my old schedule, like 5, 6 A-M, I will offer them a schedule all the way to my time, whole day, you know, five days a week. One client said that seeing so many available appointments on my calendar made her think maybe Genecia isn't doing so well. So, my dear, being too accommodating can bike fire you as well and make you stressed. So it's double whammy. So don't do that anymore. So then what about the money boundaries? Now, money blocks and boundary problems are really common for female entrepreneurs and it really can destroy your business. So a few things here. Are you suffering from clients not paying discounting clients, installments not paid, but the trading or working for free, not earning what you think you are worth?

Genecia Alluora: Oh, my God, there's so much I want to say about this. You know when everything in your business feels like it's too much, clients contacting you day and night, late payment, making ridiculous payments, and everything is going to affect you. Okay, so you need boundaries. Boundaries gives you that confidence in your business, reduce 90% of your stress and helps you through the workday. Really, this is very, very important. All right? You must set boundaries because we want to play nice. We want to be doing the things that to set with people and to be amazing. But you know what? Really, in conclusion, stay true to what you believe in, even though you have not done it yet.

Because only then you can make a difference in setting boundaries and really stop better trading and learn to increase the prizes, have more time, more freedom, being fabulous and happy family.
