Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.
“As thy days, so shall thy strength be,” Deuteronomy 33:25 KJV.
The trial will not exceed the strength that shall be given us to bear it.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The angry screams shredded the early
morning air, tearing me mercilessly away from peaceful slumberland
and its unrealistic dream-castles. Yawning, I flopped over into a cloud
of pillows, determined to stifle the racket. BEEP! BEEP! Realizing the
monster would not fall silent without some physical encouragement, I
dragged myself from my cocoon of blankets and over to the other side
of the room. Raising my hand, I slapped the top of its head, and with a
last ear-splitting beep, the fiendish scream faded away into nothing. As
my sleepy eyes roamed the room, they came to rest on the calendar.
The dreamy castles floating around in my brain lost their footing and
came down with a thunderous crash. I groaned: “It’s Monday…”
Ah, Mondays! They are the connecting link between a carefree
weekend and a care-filled week. Compared to its sibling weekdays,
Monday is a disaster waiting to happen.
“It’s Monday, Lian.” We stood in the cafeteria, towels in hand,
aimlessly wiping water droplets off clean dishes. Lian nodded, she
shared my frustration. Silence lingered as we both attempted to glean
what sparse rays of positivity we could from a day that was doomed
to be ordinary and boring at best. Suddenly, Lian’s eyes lit up with a
hopeful sparkle, and her next words pierced through the thundercloud
of gloom. “We’ve got this, Julie! God can help us make today the best
day of the week!” Her excitement was infectious, and a hopeful light
began to dawn at the end of Monday’s dark, dismal tunnel.
Ah, Mondays! The day the Devil works overtime, trying to
separate me from God, obscure His blessings, and make me believe
that life is a dismal wreck. However, I have learned that even Satan’s
best efforts are no match for my God. Now, when my alarm clock hails
the beginning of the week, I am no longer disheartened. I know that
God will give me strength for each new day—even if it’s a Monday.
