The Viktor Wilt Show daily recap! If you miss the show weekdays from 6A-10A MST, you've come to the right place.
Speaker 1: The noon hour of madness and mayhem the podcast.
Speaker 2: Welcome back, Peaches, to the noon hour of madness and mayhem. Did you have a great vacation?
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was awesome. Uh I immediately went to In N Out Burger. The first stop right as I landed. I had the guy from uh Turo give me the rental car personally. I didn't ask him to do it. He just did it. Nice.
Which I was shocked he did. And then immediately you're met with like six lanes of traffic where you don't know where you're supposed to go to get out of the John Wayne Airport.
Speaker 2: Oh, I've never flown into the LA airport, actually. Well, John Wayne Santa Ana. Oh.
Speaker 3: Yeah. It's it's it's better than trying to fly LAX. I'm never touching that place. Okay. The last time I did, I think was 2017 when I went to New York.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I've flown out of San Diego. Did I fly in? I don't know. It didn't seem too bad. The San Diego airport, but. Well, I'm glad you had a good trip, Peaches. Did anything crazy happen? Um not necessarily.
Speaker 3: I mean, my friend Matt was wanting me to get into the ocean. Of course, we got like about ankle or not ankle, knee deep.
Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked like you got a ways in from the back.
Speaker 3: But Matt was like, come on even further. You can't just say it's a beach day and only go out this far. And then he goes, Oh, I see a massive shark. And I go, I'm out. And I just and I sprint. You know, like sea crest out. Like I was like a peach out. I just sprint back to the sand.
Speaker 2: I don't know how people swim in the ocean. Like one, because of you know, wildlife or marine life. Yeah, yeah. But two, you get sand burn. You know, like sandburn. Yeah, because there's sand washed, you know, just getting pushed around in the water. So you're basically sandblasting your own skin with the sand and water.
Speaker 3: Laguna Beach had the most seaweed and crap just right there on the coast. Okay. There was a it was a there was a pretty hardcore moment where there was a dead, you know, like one of those uh sandpipers, like those they have very long, skinny legs, uh and they had like the very long narrow beak.
Yeah, yeah. There was a dead one just washing up and down the ocean, and an uh an alive one saw it and started nipping at its legs and like trying to eat the dead body. I didn't realize they ate the they ate each other. Cannibals, huh? Yeah.
I didn't realize that either. And so that was happening near us. And ew, like maybe Christian were all grossed out trying to get away from it, but it keeps coming towards us. And you're in the water. And we're in the water, and then I keep getting stuff like wrapped around my ankle, and I get freaked out. I look down, it's a whole thing of seaweed. The cra the craziest part, I felt bad for this guy.
I really hope he doesn't die. There was a guy, there was a teenage boy, no arms at all. Like just shoulder. Uh-huh. No arms at all. His friends are telling him to get out in the water. What? His friends are like, come on out, Sean, come on out.
Speaker 2: Don't tell your friend with no arms to get in the line.
Speaker 3: Come sprinting. I'll bet! Not baywash spread, just full on and say, hey, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, stay here. Because there's you already couldn't go out enough as it is because of the quote hurricane water or whatever.
Speaker 2: I was gonna ask if that was an issue as well.
Speaker 3: No, not really. No, it was okay. It's what is an issue now as I leave. But um Laguna had all this crap in the water. There was the armless guy, and then we went to Huntington Beach another day in the trip, and that one was that one was good.
There was nothing. There was that's where we saw the shark. But then my but then Matt's like, let's go to Newport Beach. And of course, theirs is all weird because they were preparing for like the big waves to come in. So you have to like go down a little sand hill.
Horrible name for a radio company. You have to go down the sandhill in order to make your way into the ocean. And it just was a weird moment.
It was a weird beach. I didn't like it. Okay. But apparently we went to that same spot where all the police officers came in via horseback to get those people out of there on the 4th of July. Oh.
When there was like that active like war zone pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. So then we went we went to that sacred spot. I forgot about that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Newport Beach is usually like that's where you go. You know, like the typical Utah girl look of like the bleach blonde hair, the dark tan that's almost controversial with like the sh the the denim shorts and everything. Every girl there looks the same.
Yeah. That's Newport Beach. And their dads make like half a million dollars a year to be able to afford to live there, that kind of thing. Like Newport Beach is like the ritzy spot.
Gotcha. And we just went there as like three different bums, you know, just because go. But I can't believe like my Matt Matt and Christian paid for my I felt like a woman, dude. I was getting my stuff paid for all the time. Nice.
I'm just kidding. I was getting my I got my dinner paid for my birthday. We went to a place called Nick's in Laguna Beach. Right on. And uh I got the Scottish salmon. The seafood out there is great too.
Speaker 2: Oh, speaking of that, did uh Brian get his money back from the place that said I didn't pay.
Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know. He didn't bring it up. I just talked to him last night.
Speaker 2: Okay. I need to check with him on that because I totally forgot, but okay. Anyway, back to uh you you had a good dinner at Nick's. Yeah. All right. Yeah. yeah. Not too shabby.
Speaker 3: I mostly just hung around with family. I'm on Friday, uh Friday evening, we went to Kobe's steakhouse, and that was another fun thing. I caught the the rice in my mouth when the guy threw it. I have that on video too. Yeah. They threw rice? Yeah, it's like a little rice ball. Like sushi rice they put on the uh hibachi grill there.
Speaker 2: Because usually it's uh broccoli.
Speaker 3: Yeah, we usually throw like shrimp or something like that too. I was the only one who caught something, so that was good.
Speaker 2: I'd be mad if they threw shrimp at me because I never catch it. It would just bounce off my face. Yeah.
Speaker 3: It bounced off my dad's chin. He took uh the rice splattered everywhere.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw you guys uh feeding the turtle. No, Sheldon, yeah. And then I think it was yesterday you posted I just drove two hours to have this, and it was an in and out burger. Where did you go? I went to Twin Falls. You went to Twin. Yeah. Is Logan might be closer than Twin.
Speaker 3: Uh we decided because everything is right there in Twin Falls. There's home goods, there's TJ Maxx, there's Tar the Super Target, not the shoebox of a target that we have here. Yeah. Uh but we decided, you know what? Let's take advantage of Labor Day weekend and let's just go for a road trip. Me, Bryson and Charlotte. And of course, right as I show up, right as we get there. And Charlotte goes, Oh, we have no money to spend. Can we just skip TJ Maxx? I'm like, you had me drive all the way out here.
Speaker 2: Oh, that's a long drive to a terrible region. Right.
Speaker 3: We went through Burley, and I was like, you know, flipping it off the entire time.
Speaker 2: Good job, Peaches. Yeah. That's what I like. There's I won't say what all towns that I might give uh one finger wave to when I drive by, but there's a few. There's a few.
Speaker 3: The bottom three of Idaho. Income, Burley, Mountain Home.
Speaker 2: And you know, Income as a town is okay. I just dislike one thing about it.
Speaker 3: I drove, we drove through American Falls. I'm like, why what a dump.
Speaker 2: Just kept going. American Falls. I'll I'll give it better than Burley. Absolutely. But uh I mean, there's not much there.
Speaker 3: We went to In N Out Burger, of course, in Twin, and uh they have security guards all around the place. Because of what happened. Yeah. They had a memorial right outside.
It's not, it's the most depressing in and out now. Well, yeah. And they have a giant Twin Falls strong sign right outside. Yeah, see. And I feel bad for the workers because I'm sure they're all traumatized.
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they've got to be terrified. You know, even though I'm sure that is never gonna happen again.
Speaker 3: But still it's happened in their life. But yeah, it did. And if they were there, it's gotta be horrifying. It's very scary. Right.
Speaker 2: Um, yeah, I would have gone to Logan Peaches. In and out's, you know, not supposed to be depressing. But that's that's just my opinion.
Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was just something we wanted to do and get out to Twin and all that stuff. And went to we went to Spirit Halloween, and I know we have one here. We have a few here.
We have two here in Idaho Falls, I think. Yeah, we already. What did I say? Oopsie, I say here in Idaho Falls, my bad. We're not supposed to say that.
Speaker 2: We are in East Idaho. Yeah, thank you. And we have multiple in each other.
Speaker 3: In Idaho Falls, they have two Spirit Halloweens.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I we ended up at Michael's yesterday because they finally marked down their Halloween stuff a little bit. You know, they do the sales.
Speaker 3: Yeah, I meant to, I told you about that earlier on in August. Well, not the clearance, but just like they were on, they were out there.
Speaker 2: And we went and they were like too high priced. I was like, let's go back in September when it gets cheaper. So we did that. And then by the time we got out of there, I was so frustrated. I was like, we're not going to Spirit Halloween. Nothing, nothing bad happened at Michael. Uh uh in our next break, I'll get into why I was frustrated all weekend.
Speaker 3: I realized uh for going to Spirit Halloween. I I realized that I'm gonna need a whole lot of black body paint to become vessel. Uh yeah. And I'm gonna I'm gonna have to buy the mask here soon, have that thing painted. Oh, you better get to work, Peaches. I'm not going to I'm not gonna go shirtless to work with all black body paint all over me.
Speaker 2: You should.
Speaker 3: No, I'll get in trouble.
Speaker 2: It's the noon hour of madness and mayhem. What's up, Peaches?
Speaker 3: I know you're gonna buy this. Beyonce selling the limited edition wooden box for 950 bucks, and it's completely empty. It's designed to store and display her records, but no vinyl is included.
Speaker 2: An empty box for 900.
Speaker 3: Right there. Empty wooden box, 950.
Speaker 2: Wow, that's about as good of a deal as I saw somebody on Facebook today, today in the uh Stephen King Collectors group I'm in, uh, trying to sell a copy of the Bachman books for uh six hundred dollars, and it wasn't signed, wasn't a first edition or anything. I uh linked them to eBay and was like, here's a uh a list of the recently sold copies of that. You might want to look at it because you're a little bit off on the price.
For 600 bucks, you can buy a limited edition signed, like, you know, actually collectible Stephen King book. But anyway, anyway. Um I mentioned earlier I got cranky at Michael's. Now, everywhere I went this weekend, Peaches, I was grouchy, cranky, and wanted to leave.
Why is that, Victor? Do you think I could make you proud of me for being grouchy and mean and in a bad mood all weekend? Why are we going opposite routes now?
Speaker 3: I used to be the grouchy, crumpy, like anxious guy all the time, and now I'm going the opposite way, and then you're going back to where I was.
Speaker 2: Well, it was only for this weekend. I'm doing pretty good today. Okay, good. Pretty good today. The reason that I was extremely grouchy and all that this weekend is because, as I announced on my show, uh, I think Friday. I'm back on the wagon, Peaches. Yeah. I decided this weekend, time to sober it up, you know.
Speaker 3: Honestly, I was very proud of my friend Matt because he told me I I have it, he's like, I haven't drank anything for close to five months. That's way good. And I know and he seems a whole lot happier and a whole lot more there. Oh, yeah. Before he was ditzy and just dumb and forgetful.
And I was like, dude, I'm very proud of you for doing it. Because he drank seven days a week non-stop. I remember having to get the crack and rum before him and Christian came out. It's like deal, it's like going out with Burt Chryscher.
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. So, you know, I had uh a number of months ago, I did a month, and I was feeling great. Good. And then I got grouchy one day and was like, I don't care about anything. And I went and got a six-pack of like the super strong IPA. Next thing I know, back to, you know, having at least a few every day. Then I did a week and did the same stupid thing, got mad, was like, I'm gonna go fine, I'm gonna go get myself six pack of strong IPA. So, you know, I was starting to uh it just
Speaker 3: sounds like you almost had the F bomb, right?
Speaker 2: I know, that's why I made sure to throw the fine in there.
Speaker 3: It's like when you when you go halfway through the word continue and you accidentally say the first part. Uh-huh.
Speaker 2: Uh-huh. So um I decided, all right, dude. You know, you're blowing too much money. Uh you don't feel great. It's time. So, like a genius, Peaches. My plan was to start on Friday. Because we, you know, we talked uh on I think the morning show about how we got off early on Friday. And instead, well, I was like, all right, I'll stop by, say hi to Becca at her work on my way home, and then I will go home and I'm just gonna hunker down for the uh three-day weekend starting Friday. Instead, on Friday, what I did was I stayed at Becca's work and just completely overdid it. Oh. And so I wake up Saturday, miserable.
Speaker 3: Oh, I see. I see your tactic here now. Okay.
Speaker 2: Wake up miserable, but I'm like, all right, I guess I'm starting today. Which it was fine, you know. So I got to uh gritting my teeth, keeping myself distracted, watching disgusting serial killer shows on YouTube, which when you're feeling a little bit uh like down on yourself, because I was mad at myself for not starting Friday. I was like, you idiot, you were feeling good, and now you want to start when you're feeling bad. Hey, it's better late than never.
Yeah. So I felt like a loser all day Saturday. I was very uh, you know, I was beating myself up mentally all day long.
And we ended up going to the to the grocery store, and I was like, I have gotta get away from these people. You said this was Saturday, right? This was Saturday.
Speaker 3: Yeah, Saturday, I was also like bashing my brain with the Facebook post and the Instagram post. No. I I was full on rewriting the whole thing. I was just like, is anybody gonna like this?
Speaker 2: Uh lots of people liked it.
Speaker 3: It's my most liked thing, man.
Speaker 2: I'm sure you'll make some money off that post.
Speaker 3: Four bucks is what it says. Four bucks. Yeah. I was that wasn't the point of it either. That was just to be like, hey, this is where I've been all summer long. Because you've seen me every day. Yeah, yeah. Like nobody has seen me anywhere else beside, I mean, hardly anybody has seen me anywhere else, I should say.
Speaker 2: Yeah, Peach's post that he made was the manifesto we'd been talking about for a while.
Speaker 3: And I we had one listener say TLDR.
Speaker 2: I was gonna, but instead of, I would have left. I was like, good job, homie. Because there was like and I read the whole dang thing.
Speaker 3: There was Lou Brutus going, you're a bleeping warrior in that comment section. There was record rep friends that uh were saying proud of you. Like even Lee from the funeral portrait said, brother, I'm so happy. Thank you so much for posting this. And then you get Victor, TLDR. S T U.
Speaker 2: No one cares. So Saturday, you know, I've I was like hung over and grouchy and like I'm stopping today. So I wasn't in a good mood. I shouldn't have gone to the store. So then Sunday, same thing happens, end up having to go to the store for something. I'm just grouchy.
Speaker 3: I'm just grouchy and Becca antagonizes you everywhere you go, too.
Speaker 2: Yeah, she was she was being pretty good. She was like, come on, I wanted the cans of pork and beans.
Speaker 3: And then you're like, wait, get out of here.
Speaker 2: I was like, please, when we go in here, let's just go in and out. Don't let's not look at a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 3: There's nothing worse than shopping with a woman, isn't there? Like I've noticed this. I go with Bryson and Charlotte to places. We go down every aisle. I go, I try I automatically go to the back of the store, check the men's clothes, go, wow, I'm too fat for this. And then I go to the and then I ironically go to the food section. Every time I go to Target, and then that's it. I know I go like home decor, maybe I'll sniff a candle. There's like three different spots. Yeah. Then it's like, oh, this is cute. Put it back.
Speaker 2: Now, Saturday, I did my best to reduce my mental anxiety by playing Red Dead 2 all day. Because uh Beck had to work Saturday too, so I got up, fired up Red Dead 2.
Speaker 3: Did you drink through Arthur? Did you have Arthur drink for you?
Speaker 2: Arthur was sober too. He was on the wagon too.
Speaker 3: If I have to suffer, so does Arthur Morgan.
Speaker 2: That's right. You're gonna have to drink snake oil to get that dead eye back up. No guarma rum.
Speaker 3: You read that letter to Rockstar. Dear Rockster, I don't like the fact that you glorify drinking for giving me this superpower ability to get dead eye because by drinking rum.
Speaker 2: Yeah, like well, drinking does increase actual dead eye. Like the the look of death in your eyes. So I played Red Dead all day. Becca got up work, she took a nap, so I continued to play Red Dead. I ended up beating the uh the story portion of the game because I got this goal. This is like, you know, important life goals. I want to 100% Red Dead again. Absolutely.
Speaker 3: And give yourself a gold medal. I'll have my dad make it for you.
Speaker 2: And uh play through GTA 5 again before GTA 6 comes out. But I got all kinds of other stuff I need to do around my house, so it's probably not a good goal because 100%ing Red Dead 2 takes forever. But so that day was fine. Then yesterday, um we needed to run some errands, and I had like two errands in mind. I'm like, we'll go to these two places. I think I can mentally hand-eat. I'll handle that. But Becca wanted to go to Michael's.
So I'm like, all right. And I don't know what it was about Michael's, but as the longer I was in there, the more impatient I was getting. And so by the time we left there, I was just like, I can't deal with any more people. And then we had to go to um another grocery store. And by then I just had about lost all complete patience. But I felt pretty good at the end of the day. And today, uh, after getting a pretty decent night's sleep, I'm in a positive attitude and chipper, and I'm not grouchy, and I'm not mean, at least yet. You know, but it is still only a little afternoon. Hey, who cares? There's progress. There's plenty of aggravations that could come my way.
Speaker 3: Jay comes your way with more work. That's it. And you pull out like a bottle of something from your desk drawer.
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I got uh I don't think I got any booze hiding anywhere, but I don't think well, you forget, you know, booze is bad for your brain. Uh, but yeah, so I'm on day four. Day four, and I'm just gonna keep going. Good.
Speaker 3: This time I just celebrated 30 years.
Speaker 2: Good job of 30 years sober. I'm at day four, and uh I'm this time I'm gonna go as long as I can. If I have a day where I get mad, I'm gonna use that willpower peaches and don't go to the gas station. And uh I will just continue drinking. What do I got here? Wonder water.
Speaker 3: Here I am thinking that like me all of a sudden starting to drink Coke Zero is a horrible thing.
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you could start drinking Jack Daniels peaches. That would be a bad thing.
Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a that's not a good mentality to have where you're like, at least I'm not doing meth, and then you just start drinking Jack.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, one is worse than the other, right?
Speaker 3: But they're both but do you know the side effects of those?
Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw somebody post online. Dear Annie, my sister drinks a bottle of wine every night. Should I be concerned? Um, I'm gonna go with yes, Peaches. You should be able to do it. Is her face bright red? Yeah, is her nose like uh look like a pumpkin? You know, if you're drinking a bottle of wine a night, that's not good.
Speaker 3: I've told you I dated that one girl back in 2020 that had a drinking problem, and she had stuff hidden all over her apartment, and I was playing like this horrible scavenger hunt, trying to find all these different like like vodka bottles, all this different stuff, like all in these different drawers everywhere.
Speaker 2: Yeah, luckily, I mean, I I wouldn't hide anything. I mean, I'm so lazy. I I didn't even like put my beer in the fridge most of the time. I just set it by me on the couch, drink it as it got warmer. I'm you know.
Speaker 3: I think my friend Christian has like alcoholic beverages in the back of his car and in a cooler at all times. Not a good idea. It's not good.
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not good. That's when you know you got a problem if you're packing them with you everywhere you go.
Speaker 3: My sister had her graduation, her college graduation party a few years ago, and my parents bought Corona for the guests. We don't drink at all. Like nobody in my family drinks, so it was kind of foreign for us to buy that. And I was like, why is this even at the house?
We need to get this out of here. And my dad's all like, well, hardly any of the coronas drinking or taken or whatever. So Christian showed up just to hang out with me at the party. My dad gives him all the corona. My dad's like, here you go, here's everything. And he puts it all in the cooler. It's like, ah, sweet. And he just takes off in his old Acura. He's like, yeah. Killer full of corona. He apparently showed up at a party not that long after and was like the savior.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, people, if you're struggling with uh any type of addiction, help is out there. And by the way, if you're gonna quit boozing, don't just you like cut yourself off.
You gotta talk to a doctor. Okay. It's alcohol serious business. So you you gotta talk to a doctor about it just in case you want to make sure you do it the safe way. So but you can do it. If I can do it, you can do it. And I'm I'm gonna enjoy some blueberry water.
Speaker 3: You just reminded me of the Blazing Saddle. I It was blazing Blaze of Glory. If you can dream it, you can do it. You can do it! There you go. Yeah.
Speaker 2: If you weren't listening to the morning show, uh Peaches is going to be officiating a wedding soon. And we were talking about how terrible weddings and funerals and things can be.
Speaker 3: And uh see, I enjoy weddings. I think it's fun. Part of me, gets part of me gets like this weird like adrenaline feeling any single time I watch one of those like wedding videos, and I go, that'll be me someday. And I'll go outside and go for a run. And I'll start blasting music or whatever.
Speaker 2: Crying. Right. Nothing like running and crying.
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, it's great. It's been my whole summer has been that.
Speaker 2: Well, we've been talking. Sorry. We we were talking about so sidetracked.
Speaker 3: I did. I got sidetracked for some reason. But uh, we were talking on the morning show about people who don't know how to use a microphone properly. Um, if you're gonna officiate a wedding or if you're going to speak at a funeral, or let's say you're the guy running sound at an elementary school event. Like, if if you don't know how to properly run the gear or stand too close, you're close enough to the microphone, just quit. I need to show you just quit and let somebody else do it.
Speaker 3: I seriously need to show you this this guy. Uh, he's a politician, and I I don't know what his name even is, but I'm sure if I looked up overblown mic
Speaker 2: politician guy, he'll pop up because he'll be in these debates. And there was a lady that was like, he's up there on his phone just playing a game, and then you just hear him out of nowhere, and he has like this deep voice, too. I'm not playing a game, I'm standing on business, and he's just like it's just so loud and overblown.
It's become a meme on Instagram. Well, I was gonna get to being loud and overblown. So I was gonna say, anybody who needs to learn uh proper mic usage as well as uh volume levels, or if you want to take it to the extreme, just attend the Eastern Idaho State Fair food judging, and you can learn from Brandon how to make sure everyone is definitely hearing you.
Oh, we where I was sitting, the PA speaker was pointed right at me. All right, and I mentioned, you know, last week I was uh, you know, not feeling the greatest, you know, that's why I was planning. All right, time to get my act together this weekend. So I had a little bit of a headache on uh Thursday when we went to the food tasting, right? You know, it's you know, it's sunny out. I you know, I wasn't in the best mood to be out with people, especially media people, because they're all like, look at me, listen to me. You know how it is. So boy, did they have Brandon turned up so loud, I bet you could hear him at the potato museum.
And it was even though it made my head want to explode, it was better than being at a uh funeral or wedding where they were all the way back here.
Speaker 4: I'm trying to tell you what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2: Learn how to use mic properly, learn from Brandon. Um let's go, Brandon. He he did. He went, he went hard, and it was funny because you know, the set the fair is celebrating 250 years of America. Um red, white, and blue jeans, red, white, and blue jeans.
Speaker 3: Everything was patriotic. I did I saw the videos on Facebook. Yeah, because I was because I honestly I'm so glad I didn't go because one, for the past three years, I have been at the dessert table. And I get so mad when I when I get like, oh, this is the dessert table because I want to eat the actual food. Yeah. I don't want your chocolates. I'll have like a few here and there, but I don't want that.
Speaker 2: Yeah, we end this year. We got at the uh the entree table. Okay, good. We got lucky because we got to judge two categories. We got to judge the new entrees and the fairest of them all entrees.
Speaker 3: But also I've been doing this weight loss. I've been on the GLP one. I wouldn't have eaten much of anything. Yeah. Like last night we went to Olive Garden and they have the never ending possible. I had one. And then I was like, I'm gonna take the second one home.
Speaker 2: Well, at least they let you take it home. Oh, yeah, of course. Yeah.
Speaker 4: So, yeah, there was another point I was gonna make, but sidetrack.
Speaker 3: That's also another thing, too. Whenever you go to like a thing like that and they make you stand up or clap or cheer, whatever it is. I when I once I sit down at something, I don't make me move. Yeah. You know, like don't make me go, oh, here comes so-and-so from so-and-so restaurant. Give her a round of applause. No, I'm gonna sit here and you serve me.
Speaker 2: Ah, and I I did remember what I was gonna say is uh they were you know talking about how we're celebrating America's 250th and this and that, and you know how Brandon he's always got these just hokey dad jokes and stuff, and then he goes around. Anyone else have any jokes? He's the worst thing to ask.
Speaker 3: And you pointed and said, That local podcast right there. That would have been good.
Speaker 2: He's standing over there. His name's Mike Nelson. Just playing Mike. Just playing. But it's that weatherman right there. Weatherman didn't make it. But uh good. He asked, like, does anybody have any good America jokes? And I'm like the state of our economy. I'm sitting there and I start laughing over there.
Speaker 3: It's just like the political and economic state of the world.
Speaker 3: Bringing everybody down. I'm sure the prices of this fair food is gonna go way up. That Warhawks in me at least 75 bucks.
Speaker 2: I had all kinds of ideas.
Speaker 3: They're gonna spin the iPad around and say, You want to give a tip?
Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, starting to raise my hand and Jade's like elbowing me. He's like, Don't you dare take that microphone. I'm glad you thank you, Jay.
Speaker 3: Saving everybody.
Speaker 2: The Strait of Harmoo's is open. New America. The war is over. Gas prices are cheaper.
Speaker 3: Rudy Giuliani telling that guy, it was it was his name, Mom Donnie to stay home on 9-11. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Like, you're the mayor of New York. Don't come because you're brown. Like Giuliani, you were in the Borat movie, basically uh trying to assault a woman. Like you're the biggest creep there is. Okay. Now we just got to find one final thing.
Speaker 3: We're approaching the Kirkiversary. I can't wait for Erica to be so sad that her husband's gone.
Speaker 2: Yeah, she she seems really sad.
Speaker 3: She's gonna be all of a sudden proposed to by JD Vance. Yeah. What's that happening, Peaches? So I I completely forgot to talk about the uh the plane rides to and from California. Okay. Uh I decided, well, you know, I I finally need to catch up on some movies that I've missed out on. Because for some reason I haven't really watched anything. I've just been either on YouTube walking around listening to music or playing video games on my computer, and that's that's pretty much it. Yeah. So I decided to finally watch Obsession. Okay.
on the plane. What did you think? I thought it was great. Yeah. It was really, really good for a low budget horror film.
Yeah. And it wasn't scary scary. It was just to me rather funny.
It it is funny. And there's a perfect drop, a perfect quote in that movie that I'm going to put into a metal song. Oh, into a metal song. It's like, why don't you love me bear anymore? Something like that. It was perfect. It was like it was perfect for like a metal song I was thinking about doing.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I uh I really like that movie. Um, I saw they were going to be like whatever they do when they try to get it nominated for Academy Awards, you know, like submit it.
Speaker 3: That girl who is a very long name, uh, she's doing like so much stuff now. She was doing like doing a gap ad with Malcolm Todd.
Speaker 2: Yeah, and she did a fantastic acting job. Oh, yeah. I thought she was, but I thought her her acting was so good, and she was such a crazy character. I think it overshadowed how good of a job the the main guy did, too. Um for two like unknown actors, they were both really, really good.
Speaker 3: Well, there were people in the comments saying, like, hey, if a person's uh of a character in a TV show or movie pisses you off, clearly they're doing their job right. Exactly. It's not like Gal Gadot and the runner. That just makes you mad for another because Galga dot's one of the worst actresses on the planet.
Speaker 2: Well, obsession, uh I do think everybody should watch it. I think, in my opinion, the hype on it's a little overblown.
Speaker 3: Well, it's the original idea. And it's made so much money now. Yeah. That like P Hollywood is realizing, oh, we need to put out original movies rather than you know, the sequel to something that we've we don't need.
Speaker 2: Yeah, let's remake every movie that's ever been made. Toy Story Six. Yeah. And I mean, it wasn't the most original concept, I guess, because I don't know if you've ever heard the story of like the monkey palm or somebody. It's basically you make a wish, and you know, you get your wish, but it has these unintended consequences.
Speaker 3: It's always the thing with the genie. It's like, oh, you gotta be extra specific. Otherwise, be careful what you wish for.
Speaker 2: Yeah, so there have been a number of movies like that, but I thought the way they did it was really fun. Um, I like how they wrapped it up. Uh supposedly they're gonna make a sequel, which See why? I yeah, it's one of those movies you don't need to make sequel.
Where's it gonna go? Um, but it it's worth the watch. Is it the best horror movie I've seen this year?
Is something I pondered. Because I've seen some other ones that I think flew under the radar because that movie was so popular. Like uh what was the one called? Uh, see? I can't even remember the names.
Speaker 3: I have all the movies I've watched this year written down with the exact dates. Ah, let's see.
Speaker 2: Best horror 2026. See what we got here on Rotten Tomatoes that I have seen.
Speaker 3: Um Oh, we should continue what I was gonna talk about after this. Oh, okay.
Speaker 2: Send send help. That's the one I was thinking. I thought send help was as good as Obsession, and I think it flew under the radar um for some reason. It was it was an excellent horror movie. And I I didn't even hear anything about it until I happened to scroll across it on streaming, and it's directed by Sam Raimi, the original Evil Dead director. Oh, okay.
Um, who's I mean, he's a legend in the horror horror world, but he's he hasn't made any horror movies since I think uh Drag Me to Hell, which is another great, great horror movie. Um I Hokum, did you see that? No.
Speaker 3: I've been wanting to. It's the one with Adam Scott, right?
Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, yes. And I thought it was it was pretty good, but I wouldn't put it up there, you know. I I like backrooms probably better than Hokum, but I didn't think backrooms was anything too crazy. They're making the Backrooms 2? Not surprised, not surprised.
Speaker 3: You know, but during like the towards the tail end of uh obsession when things were getting absolutely crazy and my heart rate was already going fast because I'm watching this intense part of the movie, the plane starts to shake. And I'm already anxious as it is with turbulence and all of that. Luckily, I wasn't too bad because I took an anxiety pill before I hopped on the first flight and didn't have any for like the second flight.
Speaker 2: So they're supposed to last like four to six hours.
Speaker 3: Oh, oh, okay. Well, I mean, there's no layover, it's just one non-stop flight. No, I mean the anti anxiety.
Speaker 2: Oh, I was just fine. I was very relaxed and everything was cool. But like, you know, I watched Obsession, thought it was good, and then the flight uh back from California to Idaho Falls, I decided to watch something funny, and I turned on weird the Al Yankovich story. The Al Yankee story. I wanted to see that so bad.
Speaker 3: It's So funny. Like it's so out of pocket. You got so many people in that movie. You got Jack Black, Conan O'Brien, uh, Rain Wilson, you got uh, of course, Daniel Radcliffe as Al himself. Yeah. You got some uh some girl playing Madonna in the movie that uh she's famous too.
I completely forgot her name. But there's so many stars in that film, and it's hilarious because his parents are like, why why don't you just not pursue what you love and be miserable for the rest of your life?
Speaker 2: It was just it was too, it was just so funny. Well, because the movie's like it's fake.
Speaker 3: He has a shootout with Pablo Escobar. Yeah, it's uh just completely so I I'm I'm laughing on the flight, you know, the flight's smooth the entire time. Then of course, right before we do our descent, flight attendant yells, is there a doctor or nurse on board?
Oh, jeez. And there's all they're all looking around, and uh there's a girl who looks about like 16 that comes from the back of the plane. She has these cowgirl boots on. I I felt like a weirdo just watching her walk down the middle of the plane, but but she was the only one who was a nurse on board. There's a guy in the third row near the front just convulsing.
I see his head like just bouncing up and down. Like, oh no, am I gonna see someone die in a plane? Are we gonna have my fli uh the first thought in my head is this flight gonna be ruined now because of this guy?
Speaker 2: Am I gonna be delayed because of this guy? A man suffering.
Speaker 3: And his whole family's right there in that section. They're freaking out. They're they're all yeah, this apparently I think this guy already had a history of medical problems and he wasn't supposed to fly, but he did anyway. So they had to pull out the oxygen tank and put it on him. Luckily, he was just fine.
Oh, good. And the fire, the Idaho Falls fire department had to come on board and get him off of there, put him in a chair. He was walking slowly. I'm like, come on, sit down. I want to get off this flight.
I gotta get home. Yeah, and so everything was fine up until that point. And well, I mean, luckily he was okay though. So that but uh what was it? There was something else too.
Oh, yeah. Right before you take off, like rewind to like right before you're about to go on the flight. I I didn't I I don't know anything about airplanes, but I was kind of freaked out by this.
Right as you go to the edge of the runway, all of a sudden the plane just unleashes a whole bunch of mist from either side of the the from the cabin. No, the the lawn, whatever. The wings?
Yeah, no, not the wings, inside the plane. What? It looked like the Undertaker was about to come out. All of a sudden, all this fog, the steam inside, and you just see like all the steam inside above the windows come out. I've never seen it. I swear I thought a wrestler was about to come out. I thought the undertaker was about to show up. I thought Edge was about to pop up.
I thought I was gonna hear you think you know me, and then he comes running in. No, it it all everything was just fine. Nobody freaked out. So I'm like, okay. I always evaluate the flight attendant's faces. If I see them freaked out, then I'm I'm really concerned.
Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad that both flights went good because I know you do get a little bit nervous about flights.
Speaker 3: Well, I start gripping the person's chair in front of me, and I feel bad for the old man that was uh towards the because I watched my heart rated because I'm I gotta give it a Fitbit for my birthday.
Speaker 2: Jeez, it was like one ten. Yeah, it was like one ten, and I'm like, here we go. And I'm just on the movie, like the movie I'm watching, Weird Al is having a shootout with Pablo Escobar, and I had to pause that scene because the Pablo Escobar captures Madonna, his girlfriend in the movie. Okay, that that's that I'm telling you, you got you gotta watch that film. It's hilarious.
Speaker 2: All right, I gotta find where to get it.
Speaker 3: I know when I just rented it on Apple TV.
Speaker 2: Okay, because I know when it came out, it was only on like Roku, like the Roku channel. I didn't realize it was four years old now. Yeah, yeah. I never got around to watching it, even though you could watch it for free. I just didn't download the Roku app.
Speaker 3: They pretend that uh eat it, it's original song, and then Michael Jackson came out with beat it shortly after he went out.
Speaker 2: How dare he parody my song?
