Fasting Space

Come grab a coffee or tea and hang out in fasting space. In this session I chat about so many videos on youtube that are contradictory within themselves or between other videos on a channel. So many times fasting is presented as one thing. People say "do this, not that."

Really I want people to see that fasting is a spectrum and different amounts of it can be right for different people at different times. Very flexible! Not rigid! Intuitive!

A good morning and welcome to you.

How are you today?

Welcome to you.

Whenever you are I hear if you're catching
a replay, chill out a little bit.

Grab a coffee with me or a tea

or a water or a nothing.

I'm Doctor Z.

If we haven't met.
So nice to have you here.

This is fasting space, an opportunity.

Practice a little bit of fasting together.

Or if you're

not in the mood, just practice
the idea of it.

The concept.

Some open space in life.

Open space, body, mind and spirit.

That's a fasting space to me.

We can be fasting in the body.

That's what we typically think of.

Say, refrain from food
for just a little bit.

Such an interesting space
to open up in the middle

of this culture
that we find ourselves in.

And then maybe more importantly,

bring in the concepts of digital fasting.

Put the devices down for a little bit.

After connecting with doctor
Z, put the device down a little bit.

After I connect with you,
I'm going to put the

all the technology away a bit.

And I'm going to take
my little dog on a walk

and take a deep breath
before diving back in

to the matrix.

That's how it
that's how it was feeling to me yesterday.

Staring at the technology.

A blessing and a curse.

Do you ever feel that way?

Thought I'd just tell you

a little bit today about, my yesterday.

After in the afternoon,

spending some time thinking, as I do,

what do I want to talk about
with everybody tomorrow?

And so I decided to peruse.

Major fasting channels, big

people on the internet.

Who are your favorite fasting people to
listen to?

Throw them in the comments.

And what do you like about,

their content specifically?

I would love to know things like this.

And do you have favorite videos?

I would like to learn about it,
but I peruse the big names.

I look through a
what are people doing these days?

And I gotta tell you,
I did not have a good time.

I don't know, I would love to know.

Do you do that
and do you have a good experience?

But here are some of the things
that I ran into.

I don't want to call out specific people.

I don't want to pick on anybody.

But I go to one of the biggest channels
famous person, millions

of subscribers, hundreds of thousands of
people watching every video.

And it's like one video is like.

Never do amid like mad is dead,

like one meal a day eating don't do it.

It's on.

And it's got a terrifying thumbnail

cover photo, you know, and it's just like

like it makes you think, man,
this is a very dangerous thing to do.

And so I was like, what?

I'll watch it, you know?

And so I'm watching it.

And I mean, my mind

was just like bending into shapes
because I'm like,

we're talking at the same time.

The person has seen so much good
come from it.

But then also, some study

said maybe alternate day
fasting is better.

And so you should definitely never do it.

Don't do oh man anymore.

Do alternate daily fasting

unless you really
like it or unless it's good for you.

And then you should do it.

And maybe 168 is better.

And I'm like, what?

And then I'm looking at another video
and I was like, don't do 168.

Do alternate daily fasting is like
every video is cycling through these

different things where they're both
telling you to do it and to not do it.

In the same video, I was like,

I just, I don't know,

I don't know people, I don't know.

So I was reflecting on it,
but I was like, well,

hundreds of thousands of people
watching this, like, isn't that amazing?

And I was thinking about it.

I was like, yeah, because I would I would
never make a video like that, I think.

But I was reflecting like,

is that is that the way, is it
what people want?

I don't know, what do people want?

What do you want? What do I want?

I want to have a coffee

and sit in a space
and share a conversation with people

and just take a deep breath and,

and have fasting not be confusing,
you know?

When I as so as reflecting on it,

you know, what I like to do in the clinic

when I'm working with clients.

Patience.

People
who are trying to move toward weight loss,

improved metabolism, better
blood sugar, blood pressure.

I'd just like to listen,
you know, honestly,

I try to do as much of that as possible.

I was having this funny thought.

I was like,
oh, I need to do more listening

on the show instead of just,

Yapping on and on.

Easier said than done.

When you're sitting in a room by yourself
staring at a camera.

I would listen if someone throws

any thoughts into chat

or comments or send me an email,

you can get in touch.

Info at simple fasting.com.

I did this on a couple channels actually,

and I noticed the same sort of pattern.

I found it confusing, I will tell you.

All of the top channels I looked at.

Actually, I felt

not necessarily.

Am I finding coherence here?

Coherence?

I was like,
are people finding coherence with me?

You know, I don't know.

Let me know.

What are we finding in fasting space?

What I try to bring to it

is just a spirit of openness.

And that fasting is an opportunity
to bring stress down.

And it doesn't have to look like
any socially conforming patterns of what

some other person says, including me.

But I say things that are so broad

that it can
I try to just open up the palate.

That's what I want to realize,
that fasting doesn't have to be some rigid

and dogmatic thing,
that it's actually the opposite of that.

And,

You know,

my experience of
watching all these other videos yesterday,

I just left feeling somewhat overwhelmed
and confused and discouraged.

And I guess the vibe
that I would like people to have,

if you're connecting with content
that I am making,

is to say, well,
that that just felt pleasant.

You know,

that just felt like having a conversation
with a friend at a coffee shop.

And, because I want people to leave,
like you say, if you interact

with fasting space or anything
on my channel, I want people to feel like,

well, that wasn't such a big deal.

You know,

like, that doesn't sound too bad,
you know?

Or intimidating.

I don't mind
grabbing a coffee in the morning.

You know, that's kind of pleasant.

You know, I don't mind having a tea.

You know, if I can,

bring some focus on to

something simple like this.

Helping us to be hydrated,

finding a little pleasant

thought in the middle
of a stressful moment.

Especially ideas like this
are the types of things that can break

cycles of food craving
patterns and habits that we don't like.

It's like we take that mindset right
to the most difficult place.

So here is a snack I always have.

Here's a time where I'm eating something
I don't want.

Okay, take all the mindset.

This is why I read all the time.

I bring books,
I try to give us centering thoughts.

It's like just things and ideas
that we can hang on to

the midst of a difficult moment
straight, and processes

to use a different journaling
and breathing practices.

This is fasting.

Space to me is like
the show is the tool kit that we build

to step through the spaces of our day
where we need help with it.

You know,

this is why I

can barely watch another video like these
things, which is just a kind of

a confusing argument about
should we even be doing anything at all?

That's what I, leave feeling.

Some of this like.

Like we have to know so many things
and some

some paper says this or that.

Like, I like looking at papers
as much as anybody.

You can look at my deep dive
science section.

We dig into papers.

It's all it's all good.

But the thing of it is with a paper

is you really have to recognize
what it is.

It's a it's a specific occurrence under a
specific conditions with specific people.

It's not a rule
book, you know what I mean?

And as

somebody who ran a small clinical study
at an academic medical center,

I can tell you I love doing
it is very cool.

But it's also,
you know, it's it's own world.

A research study is a

it's very cool,
but it's also a little bit different

than other than real life
in, you know, real people.

And so we can take it as information,

but we've got to bring it into our,
our life in a way that makes sense

and helps us move forward
and doesn't just create more barriers.

A simple, beautiful things.

Anyway, those are some thoughts

that I am having on the day.

Share your thoughts.

How are you doing?

I would love to listen and learn.

Tell me about your

experience that you are having I do share.

As you are thinking about that.

As you are thinking about what?

What if you had to write your current
thought into one sentence?

You don't have to share it here.

Share it in your journal.

How is your health journey going?

You know, give yourself a summary,
a statement.

Yeah, thank you for this observation.

I was really kind of overwhelmed with it
yesterday.

So many videos, like

even within them
there is great contradiction.

And then between the videos,
great contradiction.

And I just I just felt like giving up.

I was like, oh my gosh, what are we doing

here?

Hey, I am really happy to hear this
live sessions.

Helpful.

As I reorient my presence and behavior
through my lifestyle.

Hey, that sounds beautiful.

I just am sending as much energy as one

human being can send through a camera.

Okay, I am sending it to you.

I hope you have a beautiful
experience with that.

I would say this is what I'm doing right?

This is a we got two things going on.

Me going through all of these things,
trying to help myself,

trying to think about our,
you know, thoughts,

to be as healthy as I can.

To think about how we we do all this.

And then because it's the same process,
right, the same process

that anybody is going through,
trying to help ourselves.

Live in a kinder, gentler, thoughtful. Or

is that a word more healthy way?

It starts with a thought, right?

We think the thought
and we try to manifest it.

So I just want this space to be a place
where we just collect the best

thoughts, the best thinking,
the most positive energy possible.

Because isn't it difficult

to actually to make good decisions
and to stick with something very hard?

Actually,

to me, I loved the it was.

Greg last year had the analogy of fasting

as like an anchor in the waves
and and I love that.

I feel like this.

This was my experience yesterday.

Even in a fasting space.

You know, you say online,
like perusing the YouTube niche,

try to see like what the what
the big dogs are barking about, you know?

And I was like,

whoa, whoa.

I was like this,

I'm feeling the waves, right?

I'm feeling
my boat is getting rocked around.

And,

Somewhere, you know,
I've got a few articles

I wrote another one, simple fasting
com the other day.

Click on articles up in the top.

Most of the articles

I wrote a few years ago, and I just
I haven't been writing as much.

I've been thinking
lately that I should write more.

I wrote an article yesterday,

kind of a Wisconsin focused one, and

for my clinic, kind of just putting
putting out there some thoughts about.

The clinic.

I was thinking I should write more, but,

one of the early articles
I put up on there,

I, I got to reread my own stuff.

It's been a while.

What did I even call it?

But I just, I put a big banner

quote on there from myself,
which was just basically like,

don't be overwhelmed
even by these articles, okay?

You just don't have to know very much
in order to start practicing

something like this, which is just like,
you don't have to do anything

more than you want,
and you can open up a little bit of space

just as far as you enjoy it and feel good
and like that can be a beautiful space.

And maybe that is just a tiny bit
at the beginning of the day,

at the end of the day, or even
in the middle of the day, you know, like,

like the beginning of fasting.

Just take a little snack away
and open up a space between meals.

There were not even really fasting
in any technical sense,

but we're opening up some more space
without food, some more opportunities

for the digestive system
to not have to be working all the time,

don't have to know very much.

And just to realize that
this is a practice that can be opened up

like an expanding experience.

I loved the the way they described it
yesterday, and that reading

and unfolding into wholeness.

I love that

one of the videos I was watching
yesterday, it said never do.

Oh man, oh man is dead, oh man is done.

But then it came back and said,
okay, maybe just do it sometimes.

And I was just like, okay.

I mean, I would agree with that. Okay.

Do old man, sometimes if you feel
called to it, if the energy is there.

And then they started listing
all the benefits of it, which is like man,

it can help to quiet the food noise
if we just really say, hey, here's where

we're eating and here's where we're not,
and we can clear out a good space,

Marie says.

I like Doctor Feng because of his common
sense and scientific approach.

Hey, I do love that Doctor Feng.

The very first, fasting person
I was exposed to

maybe back 2015, 2016,
something like that.

I was working on fasting, all by myself.

And my clinic in Madison never had

any contact with anybody about it.

And so many people,

so many doctors, so negative toward me
about what I was doing.

I was very discouraged, especially one
dark and lonely Wisconsin winter and out.

And then somehow I just

I had the idea I'll go on
YouTube is has anybody experienced this?

I talked like doctor fasting
something into YouTube.

And I found this talk by Doctor Fung.
He's just giving a lecture.

And he was like, he's like,
this is like helping my patients.

I'm like, oh, man.

It was like one of the favorite
YouTube experiences I've ever had.

I put a video on the channel here.

Thank you, Doctor Fung,
because of that experience, great

encouragement to me.

And then I emailed it to him.

And then he sent like a little note back,
thank you or you're welcome

or something.

Also, watch finely fasting once in a while

because he is very extreme,
which shocks me.

I've never seen it. Okay,
I'm going to write it down.

I'm going to watch it and get enough
perspective on what that is,

which I should know.

Thank you for that.

Finally, fasting.

Very extreme.

It's good, I don't know.

Be shocked. Little shock therapy.

From time to time.

I'll get the vibe.

I think about fasting
as a metabolic intervention,

and then think about the role
it plays with someone who wants

to recompose their body

over a much longer timeline.

I love that

that is how I think about fasting,
a metabolic intervention.

Absolutely. It is

metabolic intervention, not for a person
who doesn't need a metabolic intervention.

I say
this is one of the things that, you know,

some of the videos that I watched, you
know, people say, oh, I'm done fasting.

We got to stop fasting. Like,
the person is totally mean.

And, you know, and I think I was like,
you know, like, that makes sense. Like

some so many of these videos, I'm like,
but who is your audience?

You know, I just think
like an audience, like, this is a practice

that can help people
who need it for specific purposes.

And, that is something that I feel

is lost in some of this sort of thing.

Like if, if I were to just sit here
and tell everybody

to do things that I am personally doing,
wouldn't help people with diabetes,

or who are trying to lose weight
very much like I,

I leaned into a fasting process very,

very aggressively for a period of time,
but I eased into it.

You know, I built the practice up
probably over a year,

like I should probably spent a year
just what I would call simple fasting,

some 16 a throwing in some amid

sort of things and then expanding it.

And I

during that time that was way back.

You know, I've had some of these ideas
for a long time.

I, I, I did some writing.

I think I have the book back here.

I started having an idea

of, of writing a book, maybe

back in 2018

that I wanted to call intuitive fasting,
because,

this is the process that I love,
like heading in and out of it.

And then I, you know, I had written
some different chapters of things

and then so I was just searching.

Oh, has anyone else have a title
like that?

Sure enough, there
it is. Intuitive fasting.

So with a foreword by Gwyneth Paltrow,

doctor Will Cole, I don't know.

Doctor Will Cole
and I haven't read the book.

I just bought it because I was like, oh,
I was like an idea that I had,

but I'm sure I would like it.

Maybe we'll go through it,
you know, and we'll think.

But this concept,
I really do like intuitive fasting

because this

is the
thing, there are seasons for these things

and there are seasons
that operate on multiple time frames.

You know, there are like many seasons
within a week, you know, which is like

one day you might feel dialed in
on something and another you're not.

And don't you need the flexibility

in the dietary practice

to interact with life, you know?

Friends are in town
and then they're not, you know, and like

and then especially
I love that with the holidays and,

and special events
and these sort of things, so many times

fasting so rigid with people like, oh,
I do all mad.

Like there's one of the things
where I agree with that video, like,

not not to me, a practice for every single
day of the year without ever changing.

Unless it is
because I say, you know, no rules.

And I have run into some people who say,
hey, this is the sort of thing

that keeps me on track
and they stick with it,

but just never a thing
where you're locked into it.

Only a process
that was really serving somebody.

This must be the finely fasting.

Did rolling 72 hour fast for months.

During his eating times,
he would eat crazy

6000 plus calories,

lost weight,
but wonder about the long term costs

of losing that weight that way.

Hey that's interesting.

I don't know about that.

I've never seen somebody doing that with,

with big eating like that, I don't know.

I'll see you.

I'll.

I'll review some of it
and give some thoughts on it.

I am curious about it.

That is, that is I see what you're saying.

Extreme taking things
that's like feast or famine.

I bought so many fasting books I have.

I have a book like that here.

If you were,

you know,
I try to create a clean Asthetik for you.

With the

beautiful blue background, which to me
blue is my favorite color.

That's one of the reasons
I put the blue back there.

And then to me it's also like,

you know, the gold coming up,
kind of like a sunrise.

That's the vibe I want for people.

Sunrise in the morning.

Also, I kind of look at it as like

maybe sand on an ocean I think about

because I love sitting by the lake
or the ocean on the beach.

This, this here.

Another book
I haven't read, fast Feast, repeat.

This is describing like the process
on a high level, like

you are seeing 6000 calories
getting up there.

I don't know, that seems like, you know,
I wouldn't want to eat that much.

That doesn't sound good to me.

Jim Steffens also

don't know who this is, but,
they've got a book.

Fast feast. Repeat.

When did they write this?

20, 20,

I don't know.

So some of these, you know,
because sometimes I was thinking, I'm

going through different books,
you know, here,

I was like, maybe you were trying to run
a fasting channel.

Maybe you should dive through more fasting
specific books.

Seems like a reasonable thought.

I'll think about it, though.

And, you know, it's

sometimes
I think that seems like a good idea.

And then I start paging through it,
and I'm like, I think I would rather,

you know,
just stick to the philosophy and,

other things because, you know,

I don't know

if I was going to write a fasting book,
it would not be like this, you know,

Maybe if I wrote a fasting book,
it would be like this.

Because this is the this is actually
one of my favorite books of all time.

Tiny little bitty book called

Open Your mind, open Your Life.

Itty bitty book.

It's got like 80 pages, but there's like

just like 2 or 3 sentences on a page. So,

I thought I'd share this with you today.

It is easy to be the person

you have always been, for it requires
no change,

no self-reflection,

no growth.

It may appear that changing yourself
requires giving up something.

In reality,
there is no need to give up anything.

You must simply add to what has been.

I love that.

I hope that is a word of encouragement.

You know, if we're moving in a direction
you say we are trying to become healthier.

We are trying to take actions
to make life better in some way.

Isn't that an an attitude of change?

Trying to change?

We're trying to make something
different in the future.

Trying to improve in some way

the change to do it.

Hopefully from a place of grace
and compassion and kindness for ourself.

This is one of the biggest things
I want to bring into this space,

and change is happening all around us.

Change is happening to us
whether we like it or not.

Time is passing. We are getting older.

All these things are happening.

I spend a lot of time thinking
into the space of self-acceptance.

Right?

Because we can be so judgmental
with ourselves, especially

you get into some weight loss space,
especially you get into a space.

A fasting is a practice that people can
use to inflict punishment on themselves.

Very nasty actually.

And so because to me, fasting,
when you approach it thoughtfully can be

one of the most compassionate,
mindful, and thoughtful spaces of all.

And so it just

hurts me basically

to think of people going through
fasting as a

from a place of anger
or contempt for their situation.

And I have seen people experience
things like this where it just breaks

them, you know, where they say like,

then they can't take it
and they hate it. It.

I say, you know. Whoa.

This is why I want to focus much more on,
you know, beautiful

things like this.

Take every time of pressure off,
find a flow state,

flow through a fasting state
in a way that makes life better.

This is what I want for people
where, like, each day can just be a step

that feels good and moves us forward.

This is what I see as the potential
and that can look

so different for different people.

Every process that all these confusing
videos telling everybody is like

it's the right

move for some people at some time,
you know,

none of them really better
than any other one, as far as I can see.

It's just how many times
should a human being eat in a day?

You know, sometimes the answer is three
and sometimes

it might even be more,
but sometimes it's definitely two.

And sometimes once is good enough,
and sometimes

the answer is zero,
which everybody can agree on.

I really do think including people

who don't like fasting,
because sometimes people get sick,

you can't eat, you know, and it's
very clear that the body is sending

the message like, we got to stop the food
for a little while so we can focus on,

you know, fighting the battle here
with a bacteria or a virus.

You start to just see in that space,
oh, body doesn't want to be shunting blood

flow in immunologic resources
off to the GI system.

It's got a battle to fight.

Uses the fasting space in many

occasions to help bring health
and healing to the body.

Okay,
if that's true, when somebody is sick,

how much more is it true when we are well?

Give the body a break.

Beautiful.

So sometimes the answer zero.

Sometimes it's more

why do we have to turn it into

anything more than that?

Oh cool.

You have read it already.

Fast. Feast.

Repeat. Approach.

Rigid.

Interesting.

If I eat 100% clean, I know of
binge is waiting to happen at the end.

Yeah the rigidity.

This is the reason why as a concept.

Haven't read that book either.

Intuitive fasting.
That's that's why I like that.

This is the process that that is, is just

like a communication
with the body that I really like.

You know, my experience as you gain

proficiency and fasting experience
with it, there's a history

you can just start to understand
how does the body experience this.

And sometimes you really start

to feel like it might feel good
to lean into this a little bit,

and then sometimes it feels good
to pull back and not do it as much.

And to me,
that's a really beautiful practice.

That's kind of mirroring,
just like breathing in the body, you know?

And it's mirroring seasons and all these
sort of things of natural cycles.

You know, there are cycles in the body,
there are cycles in seasons. And

a fasting practice.

Think of just like a tree
that bends in the wind, you know,

it doesn't break if the trees that are
the most rigid snap in the storm.

Right.

So like we want to have this, this,
this sort of motion is like a flow state,

you know, it's like we bend in the wind,
we don't break.

And, taking away

the rigidity, finding flow, feeling.

What does the body need?

I loved the discussion yesterday.

Just thinking about energy
flowing from the sun and in through

every living thing on this planet,
helping to just give us

just the real feeling of the energy
flowing through the body.

You know,

and just seeing that fasting is a space
we stop the flow of energy in for a while.

Energy.

Plenty of energy right here
if we're trying to release it.

This is a big goal in the weight
loss space.

How do we release energy from the body?

From fasting to

showing can be very simple
for a period of time.

Not necessarily easy, but our goal
to make it as easy as possible.

That's why is the mind that makes it
the most difficult.

Like open up the space, let the energy
flow out for a period of time

just as it's feeling good.

Because if it's feeling good,
then you can get in a cycle with it

that feels good
that you want to stick with.

Not because some book told you
that you had to, you know,

because you want to do it.

If you want to do it,
then it can be sustainable, right?

So this is why I want to help people
take the pressure off and build something

that feels good, because then you'll stick
with it if it's a process,

does not feeling good

and you have to force yourself to do it,

then it's going to be

the probability that you stick with
something like that going way down, right?

I know it would.

For me, I don't want to stick with things
that aren't fun.

I don't I don't want to stick with things

that don't feel good,
that are bringing stress to my life.

Who wants to do that?

That's why we talked the other day,
you know, about that guy who said,

you know, lean into the alternate daily
fasting is or lean into the longer fast

and then, have periods of normal

eating and say, well, that's all fine
if you have the mindset to do it.

But most people find that stressful.

I mean, I think it is a stress.

There is the spot where we overlap with
the talk that I did about those folks.

Jay Feldman Wellness Show, you know,
who are so negative on fasting?

They were like, well,
this is bringing huge stress to people.

And if it's stressing
people out, isn't that bad?

Think I, I liked that conversation.

We took an hour to kind of unpack that.

You know, just to give it a minute here.

It's like

stress can be good.

You know, we stress ourselves
when we lift weights and we go for a run.

We put a stress in the body
because that is how we become strong.

Right?

And you break down the muscle a bit
so that it can build back stronger.

And we give it the body,

all the nutrition and nutrients it needs
so that we can be strong.

I think fasting is very much like that.

It can be a type of stress
that we add on to our system, but

if we're doing it in a thoughtful way,
just like exercise can be misused, right?

You can over exercise to the point
where it is stressing you out.

You know,

you want to be exercising in a way
where it is bringing strength to the body.

And it's like offloading stress, right?

Do you experience that?

You take a walk.

It helps get the mind cleared, right?

You want fasting to be like it.

You don't want to be like burning out
on the stair stepper for 90

straight minutes where you hate it
every minute of it, right?

That would be like fasting on a day
where you're not feeling the flow of it

and you feel like,
oh my God, when is this going to end?

You know, it's like, it should
it should already have ended.

That's what I say.

Fasting.

To me,
that feels like a curious exploration

in the body that feels like
I think the body is saying, this is a go.

And I think it's feeling like, oh,
thank God.

And like my stomach is feeling better
and like the energy is here and I'm

feeling light and joyful and positive
and I just feel like energy flowing.

That's how you want to feel fasting now,
is it still a stress on the body?

Sure.

But that's the type of stress,

like a joyful lifting of a way to stress
that makes you stronger.

And I love that.

That is the way to

flow through it.

What else is on your mind?

What else should we talk about today
that that has felt good?

What experiences are you having it?

Does fasting feel like that for you?

Are the times when it does, times
when it doesn't?

And how do you handle that in your life?

I would love to hear more about it.

For my personal self,

I guess reflections
that I'm having about it.

You know, I'm in a point.

I like my weight where it is.

So I in general
come to a space where I kind of balance

these things.

I would say intuitively,

there are maybe half the days of the week
where I do eat three times.

At least these days.

I've gone through some seasons, and two.

If you were following a show back
in the spring when I got back from Peru,

then I was I was really dialing in three,
even four again,

and I put on some weight again,
and then I was like, whoa!

So then I dialed in on the fasting.

I went on my super exercise program
over the summer.

Biking and all these things, and then,

dialed in such a good space.

Went through this season,
okay, of illness.

Actually lost a lot of weight during this.

Got off a line disease
situation is couldn't eat much at all.

And so you know
then I actually kind of under

under my target where I want.

So I say start weightlifting again.

And then I've been hitting of fair
number of three meals.

Try to build back

some of that
that I lost during this illness.

Right, as a reasonable thing to do.

It's like for me right now, maybe
half the days, three meal days, healthiest

possible food I can purchase and find,
and then some two mile days.

The rest of the time, that's
what it's looking like for me right now.

And keeping things,

actually a little upward for me.

Many different seasons, right?

This is what we're saying.

Fasting is a tool

that we can use time.

When I had put in a lot of extra weight,
like I dial a lot on the fasting.

Beautiful gift.

That's the idea of a tool.

That's the idea of an intuitive process,
something that you can flow in and out of

in a way that feels good
and helps to balance it,

and just a way that is effective,
thoughtful,

makes life better.

Never anything that is pushing it in a way

that isn't helpful.

Love the thinking today.

Love the comments, love the thoughts.

Really appreciate you all

being here and sharing the thoughts.

Another step on the journey today.

Wish you the very best.

I hope these thoughts helpful.

Take these little
thoughts from this mini book.

Add to what has been right.

That'll be our process.

We're changing.

Nothing scary
not leaving anything behind, just adding

to what has been another experience

that we get to have on the journey today.

We'll make the best of it.

The carpet diem.

Seize the day.

Make the most of this opportunity.

Be as healthy as we can in this day,
hopefully

in as low stress away as we can.

And whatever stress

that we encounter,
we say because we can't control the things

that are happening externally,
we just control how we can respond to it.

And so hopefully
this practice here this morning

meeting be grounding will flow through it
as best we can.

We give it our best shot
and let's reconvene tomorrow.

Do some more thinking on it.

Do the best that we can.

Have a beautiful day everybody.
