Welcome back to the Wellness Creator Podcast, Happy 2026. First up this week, we are talking about a new test that Meta is running that could seriously change how you drive your traffic from Facebook. So if you have been using your page or professional account to share links to your website, your freebies, your podcast, your LinkedIn bio site, you're really gonna wanna hear this story. Next, we are diving into two TikTok trends that are actually worth paying attention to.
Janalog, which is exactly what it sounds like, January analog, and Japanese walking. Both are blowing up right now and will break down exactly how you can use them in your own content and offerings. And finally, we are going to share a story from Marie Claire that we absolutely loved. It's about women who left traditional finance jobs and built businesses that blend money management with tarot, astrology, and intuition.
They're called the witches of Wall Street and their approach has some real lessons for anyone who's ever felt like conventional business advice just doesn't fit. All right, Sandy, let's get into it.
Marvelous (01:06.731)
All right, here we go again with Meta. The company is currently testing a new feature that limits how many links you can post on your Facebook page or your professional account. And by limit, we mean two, only two, unless of course you want to pay for Meta verified, which starts at $14.99 a month. According to TechCrunch, this test is ruling out to creators and brands right now, and it could change how we drive traffic to our blogs and freebies and offers.
So Meta says that over, this part is interesting, over 98 % of views on the Facebook feed in the US come from posts without links. So they're basically saying, hey, links aren't performing, so maybe we'll just charge you to post them. The good news is that you can still drop links in the comments and affiliate links and links, of course, to other Meta platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp. They obviously wanna keep you in their ecosystem.
But if you have been relying on Facebook to push people to various places like your website, your podcast or your program launch, this is a heads up to start thinking about a new strategy. For all of us, this is yet another reminder that we do not own these platforms. Building your email list, nurturing your community off of social media and creating content that lives on your own turf has never been more important. If this test rolls out widely,
Those of us who've been using Facebook to send traffic elsewhere may need to get a little bit more creative or just accept that Meta really, really, really wants you to stay on their platforms. What do think Jenny?
Jeni (02:45.94)
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, so this is sort of mirroring the advice I feel like we've given or heard for years now, which is not to make your post have a link and to put your links in your comments. This is sort of like we were recommending this years ago to avoid being shadow banned. And I think that this is just kind of formalizing a rule that essentially was already there. Like when you're posting organic content, you don't know how the algorithm works or like
how it's gonna get shown, but word on the street was that if you were posting links in your posts that you probably weren't gonna get as much visibility on those posts organically as if you put the links in the comments. So I think it's just really more formalizing that and you just sort of have to understand the rules you're playing by when you're using these social platforms.
Marvelous (03:35.107)
Yeah, I just think it's crazy that they're, if they're saying that people don't come, like the links aren't working anyway, they're gonna charge for it. It's like, my God, I don't know why anyone, maybe there's other advantages to being verified, but I mean, just put it your comments. don't, it's crazy to me, just crazy.
Jeni (03:57.153)
Yeah. And I just think like this is just, as you said, another reason to get people off of these platforms. And, you know, that's always the advice. So like, there's different information that we share whenever we talk about social media, but the advice is basically always been the same. Like the distillation is always like, so get people's email addresses and message them directly from your email tools. So or put them in your own private community outside of these platforms.
Marvelous (04:07.926)
Mm-hmm.
Marvelous (04:19.363)
Right. Right. Right.
Marvelous (04:26.925)
Yep. Okay. Let's talk about some TikTok trends. Jenny, you got this one.
Jeni (04:27.276)
Yep. Okay. TikTok.
Yeah, so TikTok is giving us some fresh trends this month, which is nice. And as you can imagine, it's the new year, so of course they are. Two of them are perfect for wellness creators. This is really our month to shine. So the first one is genealog, which again is exactly what it sounds like, meaning like really focusing on going analog in January. It's kind of like the wellness version 2.0 of dry January.
People are making a conscious effort right now to put down their phones and do things that don't require a screen. We're talking journaling and an actual notebook. Some of us are already very big fans of this. Reading physical books, doing puzzles, basically anything that lets you exist without being connected to the internet. It's a whole vibe. It's the vibe that we grew up in, It's just sort of reality. And it's resonating because we're all a little fried.
Marvelous (05:24.055)
Right.
Jeni (05:29.72)
from constant scrolling and exposure. So I mean, I don't think that this should just be a January trend. Honestly, I think this is kind of like one of the major trends of 2026 is like, and I think probably well into the future as AI continues to take over the human experience, like we're just gonna want more and more offline analog experiences. The second trend blowing up right now is Japanese walking, which like, what does that mean? That's a type of interval walking.
So this one came from a 2007 study out of Shinshu University in Japan, and TikTok has really brought it back to life recently. The idea is pretty simple. You alternate between periods of fast walking and slow walking, and apparently the health benefits are pretty significant. Pure Gym just named it the fastest growing fitness trend for 2026, so expect to see it everywhere.
And here's where it gets interesting. These trends are content gold, but more than that, they are an invitation for you to create offerings that meet people where they already are. Think about it. Could you host a Janalog challenge for your community where everyone commits to screen free mornings for a week? Could you add a Japanese walking guide to your membership as a bonus resource? Could you create a simple PDF journal prompt series that people can print and use offline? Like side note, think journaling is going to be a trend in 2026 in general.
And then the people craving these experiences are actively looking for guidance and wellness creators like you are perfectly positioned to provide it. So your audience doesn't just want to watch these trends for like short clips on social. They want someone to help them go deeper. Sandy, what do you think about this?
Marvelous (07:11.339)
Yeah, I love it. I like these TikTok trends. I just think they're sort of fresh. And as we've said in past episodes, people are watching these clips and they might be thinking, I'd love to do that. Right. And if they had their favorite wellness creator lead them through or encourage or whatever, I think it's super fun and it's fresh and it's interesting. And yeah, I don't know. And I just, love the name Janalog. Like I would just want to do that because of the name. I think it's fantastic.
Jeni (07:40.419)
Then we'll do Feb-a-log. I mean, yeah, I love these trends too. I think that this Japanese walking is really sort of the next iteration of the, what is it, 312.30. Do you know that one? That one was like trending a year ago and that was a treadmill workout that was basically like walking three miles per hour at a 12.
Marvelous (07:42.06)
Yeah
Marvelous (07:55.577)
Mm-mm.
Marvelous (07:59.694)
So.
Jeni (08:05.494)
a 12 % incline for 30 minutes. And there was a huge trend around that last year. So I think there's always going to be some sort of like walking-ish trend. And of course, interval walking makes perfect sense for fitness and exercise. And I think if you do something, most of you who are wellness creators are not like walking teachers. That's not really a thing. So this is just a way to add variety into what you're doing already. And even if you're only doing this as kind of like social content,
Marvelous (08:05.803)
Incline.
Jeni (08:35.17)
I think it's a great way to become discovered. I also wanna just say in general, I think TikTok is kind of like the zeitgeist of our cultural times. Like this is where you go to see kind of like cutting edge content, trending content and like what's popular socially. I would say like tech news and like internet news wise, I would say it's more like X is like where you capture the zeitgeist, but.
TikTok for those of us who are building wellness-based businesses, like it's really important, I think, to know what's happening there because you see it like six months later on Instagram. Like by the time something's hit Instagram, it's already sort of on its way out culturally.
Marvelous (09:20.227)
Yeah, I agree. It's always way ahead of Instagram. Like if I go on Instagram today, I'll see stuff that is like, that was happening on TikTok. Right, right, right, right. Yeah, but I think, you know, a lot of our clients are on Instagram, which is fine if that's where your audience is, but you can like, you could be the one bringing that trend to Instagram and to your followers there.
Jeni (09:23.062)
Yeah, six to nine months. Yeah.
That was like March of last year on TikTok. Yeah.
Jeni (09:41.515)
Yeah.
Yeah, be in the forefront. That's our recommendation.
Marvelous (09:47.737)
Okay, let's talk about witches.
Jeni (09:50.646)
I will always talk about witches.
Marvelous (09:51.737)
All right, so Marie Claire just published a fascinating piece called The Witches of Wall Street. And if you're a wellness creator who's ever felt like traditional business advice doesn't quite fit, this one's for you. The article profiles women who've left conventional finance careers and built thriving practices that blend money management with mysticism. We're talking tarot readers for investors, astrology-based business coaching, and numerology for entrepreneurs.
And before you all roll your eyes, these women are pulling in serious revenue. One runs a practice where clients pay up to 10,000 for a full program. Another built a six figure business teaching people to read their birth charts as financial planning tools. What is driving this? Well, according to the article, eight in 10 Gen Z and millennial Americans now believe in cosmic guidance, including when it comes to careers and finances.
And here's the thing, these money mystics aren't replacing financial literacy, they're filling a gap that traditional advisors cannot touch. As one of the practitioners put it, a licensed fiduciary can tell you how much to save for retirement, but not why you can't seem to stick to the plan. These women are helping clients dig into their family histories around money, their inherited beliefs, their emotional patterns, it's part financial strategy.
So for all of you wellness creators, this is a very powerful example of what happens when you stop trying to fit your work into a traditional box. These women took something historically masculine and left brain, finance, and infused it with intuition, spirituality, and feminine wisdom. The result is a completely differentiated offer that speaks directly to people who felt alienated by conventional approaches.
So if you've been wondering how to stand out in a crowded market, this might be your sign. What part of your expertise could you make more energetic, more intuitive, more you? Because as one of the witches in the article says, following the rules didn't really help. So we've got to create and follow our own magic. What do think, Jenny?
Jeni (12:08.374)
Yeah, I mean, I love this. do predict that sort of like AI is going to replace these folks because AI is so good at both financial modeling and at astrology as like we could have a whole podcast about that. So I do, but I love this. this is, this made me want to go like build a financial astrologer AI tool, which I did.
Marvelous (12:31.608)
Yeah.
Jeni (12:33.454)
and talk to it every day because I do think that there is a lot of human wisdom in astrology. There's a tremendous amount of psychology and wisdom, whether or not you believe that it's some sort of divine guidance from the stars or not, there's a lot of great useful information that comes in from that space. And then I think blending sort of left brain and right brain as you're saying, it's like...
miraculous what happens when we're able to do that because you can access parts of yourself that you couldn't with just focusing on one versus the other. Yeah, I love it. Like, bring it on.
Marvelous (13:11.267)
I love it too. I immediately went and looked at these women and I'm like, they're super expensive, but like I would hire them. Like I just think, like it said to blend this like financial and a lot of these women like worked in finance. They're not just money mindset coaches. Like they worked in finance. This is what they did, but they felt this pull to add this other layer. And I love that example of like,
Jeni (13:26.358)
Yeah. Yeah.
Jeni (13:31.019)
Yeah.
Marvelous (13:38.731)
someone can say, here's what you need to do, but you just can't seem to get into that habit of saving this much money or not spending whatever. And it's like, it's because your moon is in whatever and it just can click, right? I don't know. I loved it. I think also the title, Witches of Wall Street is just fantastic. So fantastic.
Jeni (13:50.914)
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Jeni (13:58.467)
I know, I'm like ready for the movie. Like when do get to watch that movie?
Marvelous (14:02.688)
Yeah, right? Right? Yeah. But I think it's the extreme example of bringing the feminine into the masculine and it's a great example for everybody who whatever you're doing that is okay to do this. 10 years ago, this would have been laughed at, right? Now it's like the coolest thing ever. Like the timing is we all need it.
Jeni (14:05.027)
Yeah.
Jeni (14:21.324)
Yeah, in some circles, yeah. Yeah.
You know what I was thinking about with reference to this story is like, this is sort of mirroring what vision boards are, right? Like it's the same thing. Like it's a way of taking like very concrete like goals and putting like adding this woo element into it. And like all of us, I'm sure who've ever made a vision board have had this experience of the things on the board coming true. And so it's this like really interesting, socially acceptable way to like.
Marvelous (14:56.281)
Mm-hmm.
Jeni (14:56.536)
to practice this kind of magic. I love it. I really do. I think that there is a huge market for this. And I also, you and I looked at hiring a witch not that long ago, like to do a session. And she was like literally the most expensive coach we've ever looked at hiring. And you and I have worked with some expensive ass coaches in the past. And I'm like, whoa, these are like, you know, these are some ladies that know about making money here. It's kind of amazing.
Marvelous (15:23.543)
Yeah, yeah, that's right. We never did. We never did do it because it was so expensive.
Jeni (15:28.718)
It was like $8,000 for 40 minutes or it was like some obscene amount of money that is like very hard to justify as being okay.
Marvelous (15:32.769)
Yeah. Yeah.
She like counsels like celebrities and royalty and stuff like that. We're not that league.
Jeni (15:39.904)
Yeah, in presidents and like heads of state. Yeah, we're not quite in that realm. But yeah, I mean, I think like, it's just an interesting thing to look into. And I think like witchcraft can mean lots of different things, right? Like you can look at it in different ways. so, yeah, I think that that's great. I love it. I think that these are great stories, ideas, and trends to think about as we head into the new year, other than maybe the meta one, which is just like a little blip of
practical information for you. But I just think like this is a chance to really like open your mind about what's actually the tools you can use in your business, like what's possible for you and like how this year 2026 might actually be radically different than any other year in business. Bring it on.
Marvelous (16:25.401)
Absolutely. Thank you, Jenny. Thanks everyone for listening and we'll be back in two weeks with some more stories. Bye.
Jeni (16:34.831)
We'll see you next time. Bye.
