What is Red Ledger Podcast?

We share stories of how the blood of Jesus has transformed ours and others' lives.

Hey everybody. Welcome to the Red Ledger podcast. I have my friend Lissa Frassure here, who is a coach from Third Strand Coaching joining us today. Hi there. Hi. So thanks for having me. Thanks for coming. Yeah. So today we are talking about a topic, even though we have big smiles on, it's kind of a dangerous thing to be living in isolation.

Yeah. And I think people don't understand how dangerous it is for their spiritual, mental, and biological health. It's just another one of those things against God's design for us to isolate ourselves. He created us for connection. Mm-hmm. You know, it's interesting to think about, um, our lives being.

Isolated like they are right now. During C-O-V-I-D-I really got isolated. Mm-hmm. Because my church shut down and I work from home. And then I didn't get groceries. Right. 'cause Instacart. So I just found myself not leaving my house and I got easier and easier to stay at home. Right. And then it got harder to go and be around people.

'cause I was cranky about what was happening in the world and I just, I didn't want to. Right. And I think before Covid there was a loneliness epidemic. Um, apparently 50% of people reported in the United States, 50% of adults in the United States reported bouts of loneliness. Hmm. And it was even exacerbated after covid.

So I wanted to just share this, um, tweet. Does anyone feel like a bad shift occurred in American culture during the pandemic that made people just not care about anything anymore? Constant canceling of plans, arriving late to events, half-hearted work effort. Poor customer service is the norm. People just wanna stay home.

Young people don't date or drive. And then she set, she wrapped it up with, do we have collective social distancing, PTSD, or what's going on now? The interesting thing about this tweet, it wasn't written years ago. It was in February of 2025. 2025, okay. And I have to just read this response. I. Here's some distancing.

Remote work and shutdowns change. Social habits. We've lost the rhythm of structured socializing, and for some, the effort to engage in normal life again feels overwhelming. Isolation became routine, so did a kind of quiet resignation. Re-engaging with a life requires energy, risk, and even vulnerability.

And if people have forgotten what real connection feels like they, we might not even realize what's missing. It's like that CS Lewis quote about how we are too far too easily pleased, settling for lesser joys because we've forgotten or never known something greater. Mm. The isolation of the pandemic became a kind of comfort zone, even though it drained life of its richness.

Yeah, I felt like that really, really expressed maybe even how I feel sometimes about not wanting to do things. I used to be so active. Right. And I'm slowly getting there. But, um, you know, social media, with the advent of social media and technology, people aren't leaving their homes. I was battling at that time, severe panic and anxiety.

Mm-hmm. And so the only thing that did was nurtured. Um, oh, I'm gonna stay at home, I'm not gonna go anywhere. And I really, I didn't want it to end it really. I heard about people like you. I was like, this is good. I don't have to see anybody. Great. I don't have to go anywhere. I don't have to, excuse me, challenge myself to be in, in the environment where there's others.

Um, and you know, I know that we're supposed to commune. I know we're supposed to fellowship. And it's not that I don't like people, I do, I just embraced the fear and I really took hold of that and was like. Well, I'm just gonna take this blanket and put it over my head now and you know. Yeah. And I really just embraced it.

Um, I liked it. Are you back to where you were before Covid? Yes. I'm not, um, before Covid as far as socially, I have to measure it when I drank and when I stopped drinking. Oh, interesting. Mm-hmm. Because, because the liquid courage. Yeah. That was the liquid courage for me. Um, if I'd have people over at the house, it was always around alcohol.

I never didn't. That's so funny you mentioned that. So I've been invited to a birthday party tonight where everybody I know will be drinking and I'm so. I don't drink Really? Yeah. Anymore. Yeah. And I signed a lifestyle contract, so I can't Yeah. Yeah. Even if I wanted to. Right. Um, I am really nervous about being around all the alcohol and I'm looking for excuses not to go.

And I was praying about it and God said, no, you are, you are SVP. Yeah. Yeah. You stay faithful to your commitments. Yeah. It's different. You, you learn to do things differently and so different is always uncomfortable at first. Right now, I'm not going to, I'm not, I know how to interact. I can have a conversation with somebody.

Mm-hmm. Nice to meet you. And I just come up with questions. That's what helped me is coming up with questions to talk about them versus me. Mm-hmm. Um, so I. Because I didn't know how to, how to, because I'm a, I'm a laughter person. I like to laugh. I like to joke. And how, how do I do that without my cocktail?

How do I do that without drinking? Well, you do it just fine. You are really good at it. Well, I didn't know how to do it without that. Mm-hmm. And so. It's, it's a process. You walk it out and I, and, and there's no condemnation for people that drink. Right. I, I, I just, I'm just called not to, I'm called not to.

Mm-hmm. And, and, and there was nothing. I cannot look in my life and go, it really helped out my marriage. It did wonders for me. I, I just can't, I love the things I said. And you know what? When I went to those bars and I drank and was completely wasted, I made really good choices. I did too. I, I think I impressed many people.

I love to talk about Jesus while sitting on a bar stool. Yeah. It was really effective. Yeah. Yeah. I don't have any of those. I have none of those stories. So, yeah. I, no, I don't have any story of anyone finding any credibility in me or not being embarrassed the next day. Yeah. And I didn't know how to. Put the cup down.

Yeah. I knew how to hold it and, and be like, oh yeah, watch me chug this. Well, and I think that is a problem for a lot of people. Um, even I don't feel like I have a lot of social anxiety, like if I compare myself to maybe my husband, but I do sometimes would find myself having a drink or two just to feel comfortable walking into a new situation.

Yes. Mm-hmm. And I just like that I don't have to rely on that anymore. Yeah. I don't have to rely on that anymore. Yes. And that's how it was. But I think that's a problem for a lot of people 'cause it's so, so, so socially acceptable. Right. It is. And that's, that's how I function. And so when, when the pandemic hit mm-hmm.

I was really able to embrace 'cause 'cause I didn't really, I guess I didn't really recognize. Right. I didn't recognize it. Um, and then I had my, my kids at home with me and my husband and he would just come home and we would just, it be the four of us and oh, it was perfect and we didn't have to have anybody over and.

Because, you know, you couldn't, you couldn't bring anybody over. You look really happy about that. Well, he enjoyed it. I, but I don't think that's what, you know, it's, I got really depressed and turned to a psychopath on Twitter. So, um, yeah, that's when God said, okay, okay. Stop girl. You're, you're creating, you know, you're actually helping the enemy out more than you're helping me at this point.

Yeah. Mm-hmm. But, um, I wanted just to say, to say a few statistics. Uh, the US Surgeon General says, feeling lonely can actually shorten your life by a lot. It turns out loneliness risk increases your risk of dying early by 26% and being socially isolated, bumps that number up to 29%. And the Surgeon General also let us know that constant loneliness means it has the same effect as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.

On your health. Wow. So it truly is an epidemic. Wow. Wow. Yeah. That's, and if this many people are suffering and it does these kind of things to your health, and the American Heart Association also chimed in, in the same report saying that loneliness can raise your chances of heart disease by 29%, and your risk of having a stroke by 32%.

Wow. It's wild. How much, that's not very good numbers. No, it, it's wild. Yeah. And it's, again, God's design, you know, he gives us this great book here. It's really cool. That guides us. Yeah. That, that says things like, um, you're meant for relationship. Yeah. And don't worry and don't live in anger and be forgiving.

And it turns out, when we don't do these things, it affects our health. Right. Yeah, it sure does. Yeah. I, I was thinking this morning and I was like, well, nothing was complete. Until the woman was made, because Adam needed a partner. Yeah. Not to elevate women. I mean, I know we're great, but we are, but, but the picture wasn't complete.

The, the design wasn't complete because there needs to be a partnership. Mm-hmm. A partnership. God said it was not good that man be alone. Right. Yeah. And he created this. Yeah, you're welcome. Yeah, I know. We got, you know, a little off track with Mother Eve. Yeah. With the apple and all that. Right. But he did see that we would need companionship.

We would need companionship and a helper. Yeah. You know, I was thinking, you know, Jesus did go off for 40 days by himself, but that was so that he could be with the Lord. That was so that he could, he was working on something specific. It was not, I. Okay, I'm going to be alone. And then for 40 days I'll be with somebody.

But he wasn't really alone either. He wasn't. He was with God. He was with God. And I think that's the part that happens when I do isolate. Mm-hmm. So this is funny. I was just talking to Angie, um, at the church mm-hmm. And about how sometimes I isolate and thought it was good until I was, you know, preparing for this.

Yeah. And sometimes we do it out of pride. There's a verse in Proverbs that basically says not to isolate because, you know, it's, it's prideful. It means you don't want wisely cancel. Right. But I don't think that's why I did it for a while. For a while. I just, I think in my early life I was taking a poll every time I had a problem and I wanted everybody's opinion.

Oh. And then I learned, oh. That's not wise because like if I had a problem in my marriage, then they ended up hating my husband because of course I never told them the bad parts. I did. Right. And then as I grew really shocked as I grew and matured Yeah. Um, I started going to the best place self-help gurus.

Oh, there you have it. Mm-hmm. And while some of them got some of it right, you know, the Tony Robbins of the world, they, they get some of it. Right. Because a lot of their information is taken from scripture. Yeah. The stuff that works. Mm-hmm. But it doesn't kind of have that long lasting effect because it's not all truth.

Right? Yeah. Mm-hmm. And um, so that didn't work. You know, I had a huge issue in my life and I could see that my friends at the time weren't really interested in helping. They would be upset 'cause I would isolate and say, why don't you tell us, we're your friends. Tell us your problems. Well then I did, this is so funny.

So I go to lunch with them and I start telling them, and they don't wanna hear it. They keep changing the subject, like they don't wanna hear it. I'm like, oh, okay. God. So what's going on here? Yeah. Well, there was a couple of things, right. They were probably sick to death hearing about it, but two, um, they didn't have any advice for me.

Mm-hmm. You know, they weren't really walking with God, I was gonna say, was it? There was. Mm-hmm. Okay. What was their walk like? What was their walk life like? Exactly. With the Lord. Yeah. So they didn't really know how to help me, so I'm sure it was, uh, we, we had out Right. And, you know. Yeah. And then I did turn to God.

Mm-hmm. And he did, you know, fill me with wisdom. And he gave me friends like you, um, who. Are so helpful in times when things go awry because be because we need friends, we need wise counsel. We need someone who's on the outside sometimes looking in going, oh, sister. Yeah. You're a little twisted there.

That's not really what that scripture means. Right. Or, you know, you've corrected me even on my thinking, or sometimes when I'm walking in a weird path, even with my husband, I don't ever feel like I can't tell you a problem we're going through because you're not gonna just pick my side. No, you're gonna pick truth.

Yeah. I try, I I pick marriage. Yes. And I, I pick the Lord's way. Yeah. So I feel safe. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Sharing my marriage things with you. And you, you know, you've corrected me and our other friend, Chris has corrected me and said, Hey, hey, sis, I'll think you're thinking of yourself. Yeah. But I, I, I don't know that you, you know, give yourself credit.

You are very wise in the word. Um, and usually you're really not too far off track. There's just sometimes the thought pattern, which is what we have, the ironing, sharpening the iron. Yes. As you know, it's, it's working both ways. It's the sharpening as we we're not discussing these things to gossip about our husbands or No, we're, we're having conversation i's a husband.

It's a true issue I'm having. Yeah. And sometimes it's hard you, no matter what you do. Right. Like no matter who you are and you know, I, I counsel other people. Right. Yeah. But that doesn't mean that I can't get trapped in the weeds with some wrong thinking. Right. Yes. And I think that is the gift of having wise cancel.

Yes. You know, even Jesus sent them out. Right. Two by two. Right. Right. Jesus sent them out two by two. And Jesus was also ministered too. Yes. He, he wasn't just the one doing the ministering. I. The word talks about how, uh, Mary ministered to him. Mm-hmm. So he was ministered too as well. We, it's, it's both direction.

You know, Jesus was sad when he was in the, in the garden and he, he'd asked the disciples not to go to sleep and they did. And that says to me, 'cause he needed that companionship. He needed, he needed to strengthening. He needed, yes, he needed strengthening. What he was about to do was take everybody's sin upon him on that cross.

And he knew it. O obviously the, the disciples didn't have, you know, the depth and understanding. Um, but he needed that and that's why he was like, wake up. Well, it's pretty awesome that we have the depth and understanding and high in reflection. Right, right. Well, we have the book sitting in front of us.

Yes. Isn't that cool? Yeah. Yeah. Isn't that What a gift. What a gift. Mm-hmm. What a gift. Mm-hmm. So it is important. To have that person, because sometimes you can see clearly from the outside. Right. A little bit easier when our mind's not doing well. And sometimes when I would isolate, I found I would hide from God.

Mm. Or maybe I didn't want his solution. Right. Or maybe there was a pride issue. Mm-hmm. And so those are different reasons. I think people isolate. Plus, I think, like you said, it can be comfortable place if this is your issue. Yeah. When I had, um, each time it was for me to go to church, it was the worship section 'cause it was dark, it was loud.

Mm-hmm. And with the things that had happened in my life, it wasn't easy for me to be, you know, I was one, be in the back corner and I'm gonna look out and about and I'm gonna see. And so now I'm scanning the room and, you know, so it's just a nonstop. Fight or flight method going on here, checking things out, and, um, so I, it was exhausting to go out.

It was just, and being in the comfort of my own home, not having to leave. I'm fine. Yay. Everything's great. I have a phone I can call people and talk to them when you want, when I want, and I don't have to, it was, I was not fearful of any virus or any sickness. Yeah. Because I, I believe in healing. Mm-hmm. I believe in the Lord.

But look, everybody's got a vice at some, at some point in their life, and that fear was mine and it was being around people. I don't, I can't tell you what I was afraid of. Mm-hmm. I don't know. Mm-hmm. What it was and it's gone now, right? And it's gone. Yeah. I mean, sometimes it tries to come back in. Yeah.

But I, you know, I use the word and I just walk it out. Praise God. I'm gonna start reading at Ecclesiastes four, two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts for either falls. His companion can lift him up, but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. Mm-hmm. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm.

But how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him A quarter. Three strands is not easily broken. And that's taken from the Christian standard Bible. Mm-hmm. Version. Um, so what I noticed in here is there are some benefits, right? There's a good reward for efforts.

There's a companion can lift you up, you can keep you warm, meaning, comfort, and strengthen. And with two. We can resist somebody or something overpowering us. Right. Three even better, right? Yep. Mm-hmm. So I wanted to kind of go over each of those, 'cause there's some stories in the Bible and there's some instances where we can see that this is truly God's intention for us.

So the good reward for efforts two is better than one. Yes, I agree. Right? Mm-hmm. Like it's, we can go further together than just with our own, on our own strength because we're different. Mm-hmm. God created each of us different, each different parts of the body with gi, different gifts, talents, and abilities so that we could compliment each other.

Mm-hmm. And it kind of makes me think even of Adam and Eve, they're the same image, but they're different, right? Yes. They're different functionalities. Yeah. They have a different purpose. Um, Eve can fulfill. Um, a mother nurturing purpose. Mm-hmm. And Adam, he, he's the strength. Yes. You know, he's the, he's the head.

Um, so yeah. Different same, but different. So that more can happen. Mm-hmm. Right. So if I think of me as, when I was a single mom, it was just me nurturing my child, but I was struggling to provide. Right, right. But two, look what happens. Yeah. When you have two. Mm-hmm. Or even in a business, you know, we all, not all of us are accountants, right?

Yeah. Mm-hmm. Not all of us have that math ability. Not all of us have, can see, um, long-term consequences. Right, right. Yeah. Or bottlenecks in our business. Yeah. I look at my, my mom, you know, where, where my dad died when I was so young. Now they were divorced when I was young, you know, three when I was three.

And then, um. And my, and back then it was the woman is all that the children needed. Yeah. So I think my dad at that point only had every other weekend with my brother and I, so we hardly saw him. And so my mom was working and, you know, taking the role on as mother and father, even though, I mean, it's not like my dad wasn't there.

He would've, you know, but he wasn't because he physically was somewhere else. And, and then I look at me raising my children, it's so much better. It's different. Mm-hmm. And there's no condemnation towards anybody that, you know, like I'm not, but I, I just see it's, it's less of a struggle. It, although Scott, my husband, has been gone working for the railroad, he's been gone a lot.

And I've had to endure a lot and do a lot of things on my own. I, I have friends who are single parents. I haven't had to endure what they have had to. That is true. I haven't That is true. There's a reward there. Yeah. I'm gonna, I wanna go back to that. So what I just heard, the reward is it's less of a struggle.

It is. And we can go further, meaning, you know, it was so hard to get goals accomplished. Yeah. When it's all you, even in my business, I can see, um, it's just me and my son, which we can do a lot. But without him, I couldn't edit these videos. I mean, I could, but it would be so I, right. Actually, I don't know if I could, I don't know if I have the time.

Right. Like it would be an impossible thing. Right. And you can't do it the way he can do it. No. He, he has the, uh, eye and ability and he can fix all my lighting mistakes. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. He has the gift I was thinking of. 'cause we did a bible study with, uh, with Deborah Uhhuh in judges. Yeah. And how. Much further.

Deborah and Barack went together. Right. And it was so interesting to me because Deborah was a woman. Yeah, I know. And she was leading the Israelites into this, um, war, I guess, with the Canaanites, and led them to victory. Right. By guiding. By guiding Barack Barack. Mm-hmm. And I, and he knew that she was listening to God.

He knew 'cause she was a judge at the time, and she was a prophetess and he knew, she heard from God. Right. And so he honored that and listened to her. Right. And look how far they went together. There was a victory. Right. Maybe Brock would've had that victory without her. But the fact that it's in the Bible shows me that he wouldn't have Yeah.

There's there's meaning behind it. There is. And on a side note, I think it's awesome that, okay, God used this woman Yes. To share. His plan, his path with, and he said yes. Right. At that time, that was unheard of, right? Mm-hmm. That was, that was odd back then that women had no stature. Right. So it's an interesting, it's an interesting thing.

And the reward was that they had peace in the land for 40 years. Right. Which, that's a great reward. Yeah. 'cause they did it together. Yes. Mm-hmm. I think the world, you know, I, I was thinking, reflecting on what does the world say. Mm-hmm. You need to have independence. Yes. You need to be independent. And while there is, again, like you were saying, there is some truth to that.

It is some truth. And that independence, meaning I'm not independent from God, I'm independent with God. Yeah. So I can have my time with the Holy Spirit, with Jesus in, in the secret place. Mm-hmm. I was thinking about that when I was praying this morning. I was like. You know, I was praying in the secret place and I was like, what is the secret place?

Well, it is that time with him. Yeah, it is that time. I, so I'm not alone physically, I'm alone. Right? Mm-hmm. You are not there with me or my husband's not, or some, you know, earthly people are not there. But the spirit's always with me. Mm-hmm. The Holy Spirit. Yes. His spirit. Yes. It's always with me. So I'm communing and talking to him, and there is we, we are together.

So that independence allows me, that growth, allows me that time with him. Um, but once I'm done with that, I'm ready to get with my people again. Yes. And start whatever it is that we're, because we lift each other up. Right. Because this was the second part of that. Um, those verses were that we need companions to lift us up.

Right, right. Yes, we do. Sometimes we just need a hand, sometimes. We don't. Right. And here's, I think the part that's important, um, and this is in Galatians where of course some people are supposed to have and take care of their own responsibilities, but sometimes we can't. Right. Sometimes we're spiritually broken or physically or, you know, um, even mentally, we're just not in a place where that we can stand on our own and we truly need help.

Yeah. And who does that my friend? And here's what we need to be careful of. If our friend, the person we want to do that isn't willing, we can't force that relationship. No. We have to find our people. Right. The people that God wants us to commune with. Right. It just happens to be her. Right. So I'm very intentional with prayer.

Yesterday I, you know, I was having a moment where it was a struggle for me. Mm-hmm. And I, you know, I was like, okay, Lord, help me. And I just said, kept saying Jesus, Jesus. Help me. Jesus. Jesus help me. And, and I get, call your friend. So I was thinking of, I was gonna call one friend of mine, one friend Angie. I was gonna call her.

And then it was like, no, call dentally. Call dentally. And I was like, okay. And then I was thinking about how, I can't think of it right now, but there's scripture that talks about how we need hands laid upon us. That's, that's somebody else. Mm-hmm. You need somebody else with, you go to the elders of the church.

Mm-hmm. You need to have somebody else. You need, when you are seeking out wisdom, you're seeking out wisdom. So you need somebody else there. And, and so I was like, I have to have you. So I called you, I talked to you, we were on the phone for 10, 15 minutes. There was prayer and whatever it was, was broken.

And I was speaking against it. I was walking it out. I was doing all the things I'm supposed to. But what I was also needed to do was call upon a friend. Hmm. Interesting and interesting. God had you on my heart, like you were on my heart. I was thinking about you. I was cooking, thinking about you praying.

And isn't, isn't he so good? Yeah. Like how cool is that? Yeah. Like, I know that's might seem silly, do you guys, but it's a big deal. Like it's a big deal. It's it's a big deal. That meant when you said that to me, when you said, Lisa, you've been on it, I was like, praise God. Because that gave me confirmation.

'cause I know I hear from him. Mm-hmm. But when you get that confirmation, and it's not like you were confirming anything with me on purpose. You were just talking. You're like, oh. 'cause I was confirming with you that there was something, the matter. Mm-hmm. And, and, and it was something simple, you know?

Mm-hmm. And, and you told me it was like, Lisa, you're just having a fleshly reaction. And you're just gonna have to yield to the Holy Spirit. I don't think I said it that good, but, but you're gonna, you know, but she summed it up. That's exactly what it was. And it was good and it was helpful. And then I was like, okay, now I can go hang out with my family and I have direction and I'm back on track and yuck.

Get away for me. I'm okay. Praise God. Yeah. Did you have a good day? I did. I had a great day. Praise God. Yeah. Praise. It was really God. Praise God. Yeah. It was really good. The companion lifting each other up. Right. I think that was a good example. And there's biblical example too, and I think of Jonathan and David.

Yeah. Where, um, David is going to be king and Saul knows it. King Saul knows it. And Jonathan is King Saul's son. And King Saul's not happy about it. Right. But Jonathan and David are friends, right. And so. King Saul is on a constant mission to kill David. Right. Because he wants his son to be king. Yeah.

Jonathan. Mm-hmm. Right. And Jonathan doesn't seem to be like that's a big deal to him. No. He has like this crazy loyalty for his friend. Yeah. Which I love. Yeah. And he protects him. Mm-hmm. And he thwarts King Saul's mission to kill him multiple times. Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. Multiple times with information or strategy.

Um, that saves David Right. And I just, I love the loyalty of it. Mm-hmm. And the righteousness of it. Yeah. Right. Dad's clearly not righteous in this 'cause God has a vision and King Saul's not gonna follow through with it. Right. Right, right. But Jonathan understands who his friend is, as loyal to him, understands God's plan and is gonna protect.

Yeah. But he also, Jonathan understands his dad. Oh, yes. And so he has grace there. Mm-hmm. Jonathan, I think, was in a difficult predicament. Right. And because he knew the expectations of his father. Mm-hmm. And he knew he was, it, it was, he was gonna be disappointed, I think, on some level. Mm-hmm. Or multiple levels.

But yet he had loyalty to his friend and I, I, I think he had loyalty to God because mm-hmm. He chose David. Yes. That would be, that's difficult when your parents are involved. Yeah. Right, right. Yeah. Yeah. I have parents, yeah, I do too. Well, my, my dad's passed, but has yours, but, um, there is a difficulty in that, right?

Mm-hmm. Yeah. Like think about that real time. Yeah, totally. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And cut. We have red ledger gifts, which is a online Christian gift store, and we have some of my fun stuff like cups and candles that, you know, they're really not Christian, but our Bibles are really beautiful. They are right. They really are. We handpicked them so that we could. Have something that would be fun for you to give people, but also that you would feel good about. So check us out, red ledger gifts.com. I love those. I love them. Beautiful. That's my favorite. Mm-hmm. This one? Yeah. I always liked that one, but I like that color.

It's important to be warm, but I mean, I think it means the comfort, right? Yes. The comfort. And I think that we can have that in a marriage, but we can also have it in friendships, right? Yes. Mm-hmm. It's comfortability. There's certain people I am comfortable with. Mm-hmm. I am comfortable with saying what I need to say.

I, you know, I, I understand that I sometimes, maybe my words might come out, I don't know, a abrasive to some, um, but that's not my heart. I just am very. Blunt. Um, I love it about you. Well, well, it, it's, it's an acquired taste for some, and that's okay. But that's why I have my people. I have my people. I ha And I'm okay with that.

I have my people, um, because that's how I receive. Mm-hmm. I receive that in love. Of course. I don't re, you know, I'm not a hateful person, but I am very, you know, if you were doing something I would say dentally, that's not right. And that's love to be. Yeah. That's love. And I'm okay with that. I don't think that's real.

I like the correction because I, I do have a bigger plan. God has a bigger plan for my life. Right. So I don't mind the correction. Yeah. I don't either. And that's why I feel comfortable with you. Mm-hmm. Because I feel, I, I, I know that. When you say something to me, it's out of love and it's, you're not attacking my character and I feel the same about you.

I remember the first time that you really prayed over me and I was making an error probably with my kids and or with one of 'em. I was, I was making some decisions and, and you really had a prophetic word for me. And it, it was probably abrasive. Um, 'cause I thought about it. I thought if anyone else talked to me like that, I might be offended.

But I just know your love. I know your heart. That it felt like, it felt like warmth. Yeah. It felt like comfort. Like, okay, that is the right word. And. You, you're a heated prayer warrior, right. There's heat. Yeah. And it's strong when you pray. Yeah. So it, it does come off strong and bold, but I love it. Well that's, but I love it.

Not everybody does. And that's okay. You know? Yeah. And that's okay. You get to be you. Yeah, for sure. And that's why I like the comfort of my people. Yeah. Love. And I have them, I have grown to find them. Um, some people are not interested in that, and that's okay. And it doesn't mean that there's something wrong with them or with me.

Oh, does it? It does. I think, doesn't it? It does. I'm just joking. I think everyone should be for you. Well, I love that about you, but they're not, and that's okay. Okay. But that's the comfort. Yeah. That's the warmth that I get from our friendship, from my friendship with Chris. Mm-hmm. From, you know, other friendships that I have, you know, desperately would love for Chris to come on here.

I know our, the three of us, but that is not her personality. That is not, she doesn't like to. Be in front of a camera. Oh, yeah. And well, actually neither do I. Neither do I. I was like, and neither. But I'm willing to. Right. I'm too, I'm willing to because I ha it's fun talking. It is. We like to talk. Yeah.

We're talkers. Yeah. We could do this all day. Really. I know, totally. Here's the part that, um, I was talking that we might have a disagreement in meaning. Oh, good. Let's hear it. So two can resist him. Okay. So two can resist somebody who's overpowering or an entity that's overpowering, right? So, right. So if you know, there was gonna be an attack on us and there's a lone person.

You know, I can jump on their back and pull their hair and you can punch 'em in the gut. Right, right. I'm sure that's what that meant. Yeah. I'm just joking. That's not what that meant. But a cord of three strands is not easily broken. The three strands, you and your friend and God is what I used to think that meant.

Mm. But after reading it a little bit closer, it means you and your friend are good, but another friend is even stronger because it says our, I'm gonna read that part of the scripture. Two can resist him. A chord of three STRs is not easily broken. If God's involved, it's not breaking. Right? So that's where I think it means another person, meaning two friends is great.

Three's even better build a community, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay. So there's no disagreement there. There's no disagreement. Sorry, I thought we were gonna have one. Just makes it more exciting for you guys. If we don't agree on everything, I, I will challenge you. Um. That, I mean, I think you're right in that scripture.

Mm-hmm. Uh, because I, I'm trying to see it here, and it said can two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls for, he has no one to help him up again. If two lie down together, they will keep warm.

But how can one be warm alone, though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken. Um, at this time they didn't have the Holy Spirit. Right. They only had each other. Yes. We have the Holy Spirit. I. Oh, good. That was good. You knew where I was going. I did.

She corrected me No, before I even said it. Yeah. So I'm grateful because I don't wanna mislead people. Yeah. It is good. I mean, they, the word, even in Matthew 18, when it talks about, when, you know, when you got a problem with your brother, bring two or more. Mm-hmm. Yes. You know, that's the strength. Mm-hmm. And I think that's similar, you know, summing this up.

Yes. That strength there, because when it says here, but how, um, how can one be warm alone? Well, I'm never alone. Right. You're not alone. Right. Those that have Jesus, those that have the Holy Spirit, you're not alone. But I think sometimes this is what happens is even though we're not alone, we forget, we're not alone.

Right. And we try hide. Right. Either in our sin or in our isolation, or that protective of whatever we don't wanna receive. Right. Which I, I do believe could be coming from pride. Right, of course. Meaning, I think there's a better answer out there. I think I know better or whatever the reason is, but we don't want people isolating for that reason.

No, not at all. Because that's the other problem right there. With isolation like that. Yeah. Guess who can pick you off? Yeah. The enemy. The enemy. This is how wolves attack their prey. Yeah. Right. They go and they look for the vulnerable, weak one and they strategically mm-hmm. Attack the one and they isolate 'em and attack And this is how the enemy does it.

Yeah. Watch National Geographic and mm-hmm. And you'll get a perfect vision of what the enemy does. Yes. And this is where he does it, right? Mm-hmm. This is his like, fun time to do this is Okay. Um, I see you're on your own. Yeah. I'm going in. Right. I'm gonna make sure that you don't. Go back to that place of safety.

Right. And there are, you know, a lot of times too, um, there's already, uh, seeds planted. There's already strongholds that are already there, and it's not, the enemy's not even anywhere near you. These are your own thoughts that you've, you've had from your experiences, from somebody telling you you're not good enough.

And you bought into that. You, you agreed with that statement. Yeah. You agreed with the, the enemy's implementation, right. Early on, yes. That happened to me multiple times. Mm-hmm. That's why I wanted to stay in my house. I didn't wanna go anywhere. I didn't think I could be around people. I, I thought people were wanting to attack me or, you know, whatever it was I was thinking.

Um, so even our own thoughts can be the enemy. It's not necessarily just. That spiritual, I mean, yes, the word says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness and, and powers in high places. But you do have a mind and you do have thoughts. Mm-hmm. And there are things that have been planted.

And if you have this very low self-esteem, you've been there, a lot of trauma, a lot of abuse, you've bet, whatever, you can easily go down the thoughts of, you know, I'm not good enough. I'm, you know, the attacks versus somebody who is already strengthened, who's healed some of those wounds or, you know, and then stay in that place.

Right. Where you are of no use to anyone. Right. Including yourself. Yeah. And this is where the pain happens, right? This is where the pain happens. This is where I can see how this transcend depression. Yeah. Or anxiety. So we have this comfort we're, we're at home. We're not wanting to leave. Now it's really 10 times harder to leave.

Yes. Because now I've got anxiety about it. Yeah. That I never even experienced before. Covid. Right? Yeah. Never. We moved from southeast Idaho over here. Mm-hmm. To go to the church that we were going to. And I mean we, that's why we came here. Mm-hmm. And so here's my husband and my kids going into this church, and I'd go in there and I'd have a panic attack.

And I'd go out to the car and I would just sit there and I'm like, am I dying? Uh, I'm dying. Like I just had all these. Mm-hmm. You know, I didn't wanna go in there. I was so afraid. And it kept me, it took me, I mean, it was baby steps for me. So I would go to church and then I'd sit in the, in the car until worship was over.

Then I'd walk in. Then the next time I'd try being in there for five minutes and then, you know, it was very much, I walked it out. You knew you were supposed to be there. I had to force myself. And every time I went, I hated it. Not that I hated the message. Right. The message was great, but the testing was difficult on my flesh.

It is so difficult. 'cause I didn't know you at this time. Yeah. To see this. 'cause you're so outgoing and everybody loves you at church. I mean, it was, it's just a different. It, it's, I can't even believe this is the same person. Yeah. Well, that's what Jesus does. Yeah. Praise God. Yeah. He's a healer. He's a healer.

He, yes. Yeah. Inside and out. Yep. The enemy. Mm-hmm. Wants to steal our life. Right. Steal, kill, and destroy. This is the steal part. Yes. Isolating you is the steal part. Yes. He steal, stealing you from growing, from walking out your purpose, from being who you were created to be. Yes. And guess what that does? It destroys you.

Mm-hmm. That's, that's what destroys you when you're not walking in the plan that God has placed on your heart. Well, and there was people that told me that I had something to give to others, and that when I heard that, I was like. Well, it's one thing if I don't receive, it's another thing. If I have something that I'm supposed to give to you and I'm not doing that, that did not sit well with me.

So, you know, I I, I've heard, um, Dr. Phil talk about before, years ago, one of the things that has stuck in my mind is when he was talking about parenting to children, he's like, you appeal to their greed. And, and so like, if they weren't doing something when it came to grounding, you would take away a cell phone or, you know, something that they really want.

And so this part was, I wanted to please God and I wanna help others. So it's not a greed of mine, but it, it's a pleasure. Mm-hmm. And, and it is something that brings me happiness and joy to help others. And so the fact that I knew that I wasn't able to give, or that I wasn't giving, that maybe somebody wasn't receiving because I might be their answered prayer.

And I thought, 'cause I thought, how could I be, somebody's answered prayer. Wow. How could I be that? But you're one of mine, so why couldn't I be, you know? Oh, you're definitely one of mine. You know what? Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Well, and I've seen you, I, I know how you help people, so yeah. Thank God you walked that out.

Right. Thank God you walked that out. Mm-hmm. What if you hadn't? Right. That's what that desire on your heart. Mm-hmm. And you enjoy pleasing God. Yes. Mm-hmm. By grace, we're saved. Right. This is what it looks like when it's getting walked out. When we're walking out. Our salvation, our faith, the reason that we got this grace is being walked out because we're responding to his grace.

Yeah. Just, I like to keep that in almost everyone. 'cause people get really, really, um, tripped out about grace in works, you know, that they have to work. To earn this favor, they have to earn God's love. No. And you didn't you? No. You want to please him because of all you've been given. Yes. I want to give back.

I, and I know I can't, but whatever I can do, I'm a vessel. Use me Lord. Yes. And He's used me in uncomfortable things a lot. Amen. So when you say that, you know, somebody told me years ago, be careful when you pray for patience and Oh, I remember that too. Don't do it. And I didn't. I'm like, okay, I don't want that.

I don't wanna learn that. Yeah. I don't wanna learn patience, but I do. And I did and I prayed and there were times where I had to learn it. And I'm glad it's a stretching. It's no different than when you go and work out and you're building muscle it. You know, not always is it feeling comfortable when you're on your eighth rep and you're like, Ugh.

You know, it feels, but then when you see that muscle definition, you're like, oh, I got a shoulder. Ah, look at, check out my shoulder. I got some leg muscle. You get all excited. Well, you can look 'cause you worked it. Yeah. And see where you've come from. Yeah. Isn't that gorgeous? Yeah. Yeah. I wanna check out my shoulder muscle.

I could you could You have I don't have it. Yeah, it's coming. It's impress us. We're walking it all out. Yeah, that's right. Every part of it. That's right. There's like maybe not biblical. Yeah, I'm sure it's biblical. Yeah. You're supposed to correct me. Right? Right. This is the Matthew thing where if something goes wrong, you bring it to me.

Mm-hmm. Right? And you do it in love. And I think this is where some people get it wrong. Yeah. This is, we are here for each other in so many ways and one of them is correction. Mm-hmm. And I think Correct. Doesn't mean you beat me over the head when I do something wrong. Mm-hmm. No, I come to you, I'm seeking help and you share with me truth.

Right. And I think this is where people. Get it wrong as Christians and maybe even as outsiders watching, walking the Christian walk thinking that's not your business. Well, I mean, what seat at your business? A counselor that I have had, um, years ago, she said to me, um hmm and I love this. It stuck with me.

You shouldn't should on anybody or let anybody should on you. And it's an absolute, you know, saying never dentally, never this, you should have done this. That's a judgment from me. And what I've learned is, is that as you come to me and talk to me or I to you, sometimes I have to, I have to use discernment and, um, um, what's, uh, not discretion in, in, um, reading what you're saying and going, are you coming to me as a shoulder?

Are you coming to hear my advice? Are you ready to receive what I have to say? Are you ready to receive the truth? And that is, that's wisdom. Mm-hmm. From God, from God, I have to allow you to walk your, your experience is yours. Mm-hmm. But I'm not, as a friend, I'm not going to allow you to veer off the straight and narrow, but I am going to allow you to walk your walk.

Mm-hmm. Because you have to learn what you need to learn just as I do. Mm-hmm. And if I sit there and say, well, you should do this and never do, you know, that's, that is me judging and policing you. I don't have that Right to do that. No. But I would say if you were, I don't know, whatever abusing your children, I would say that's unacceptable.

I will not allow that. Yes. You know, there, there's on those types of things that's different than, versus an issue with a friend or, you know, thinking on something or doing something. And I think that's really important. So, because we do coach people, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Um, there's a difference when it comes to my family mm-hmm.

That I don't. Take those same rules and apply them. Mm. Because you want so much for the people you love, of course. And you're like, I'm seeing you going off the track. Stop, stop. But I've really, really been trying to discipline myself to say, Hey, are you just, uh, venting? Or would you like some help with that?

Do you want some feedback? Yeah. Yeah. I, I ask that a lot. Yeah. Do you wanna know my opinion? Because maybe they don't, maybe, maybe, maybe my son's. And he said that, no, mom, I don't. Okay. Well if you need me, I'm here. Yes. And I let him walk it out. That's awesome. Not really. It's really uncomfortable. I'm so impressed that you can do it.

It's easier to do with like a friend. Right? Yeah. So I really had something that I wanted to say to you for a few days. Yeah. And I couldn't until yesterday. Mm. About the, the flesh because I, I just, I prayed and I, I don't know, I just assumed that maybe you weren't ready to receive that. Well, maybe I wasn't.

Yeah. But I received it. Yeah. And I heard it and it was accurate. Yes. And I was like, oh, that's good. And once I got, I was like, all right, I'm gonna walk this out. Yes. And I don't know when I will, you know how that, I don't know how that will come to play, but based upon what you said, there was truth and accuracy to that.

And I received it. I was like, oh yeah, that's good. Thanks, God, I, I'm not offended by it because Right. I wanna grow. Right. Well, and sometimes like, so in this situation, I don't know, I'm gonna be careful here, but you were really hurt by somebody. Yes. And it was unfair. Right? Yeah. It was truly unfair what happened.

Yeah. And that's hard. Yeah. That's so hard. Yeah. Because of course I wanna, you know, I wanna be your ride or die. Like let's get on how dare somebody hurt you. Right? Yeah. And then we have to remember who we are. But you know what I learned? Here's one of the things I learned. Ready for this one? Yeah. It's my choice to be hurt.

And I was like, oh, is it my choice though? Because I battled that one. I was like, alright, let's walk this out. That was a good word. Is it my choice to be hurt? It is. Yeah. It doesn't, we don't have to let the things people do hurt and affect us or offend us. Yeah. I had expectations of people that you loved.

I still love them. Yep. That didn't change. Mm-hmm. The expectations have changed. I've put them back in check and gone. Well, I put expectations upon people that they can't live up to. And that's not fair. My part, part, they're just not there yet. They're not. And so I have to love them where, where they're at.

Just like you as my friend, you have to love me where I'm at. Well, it's super easy. Right. But you know, that's what we have to do. It's super easy because. There's mutual reciprocation of love. Mm-hmm. Right? Mm-hmm. That's, that's what makes it hard, is to love somebody when it is not reciprocated. Right. Right.

When they're not giving back what you would give to them in this situation. And that's, that's what the love Jesus called us to have. That is when it isn't what we want it to be. Right. Because what I, the love that I give to you is what he wants me to give. Right. And, and, and that's, that's all I know. Also, I don't know their walk.

Right. I don't know what they, they might be giving me everything that they know how. Mm-hmm. And they might not even be thinking what I think they think. Right. We don't know. No idea. Just we have, have to assume the best. Right. And so when I heard that, I'm so thankful because I'm not going to be offended.

I'm not. It's gone. It was, it was a flesh thing. You were a hundred percent correct and it is a choice to be hurt. I don't like to use the word offended. Um, I don't know. Whatever. I just don't like it. I, I like the word hurt better. I do too. It's less offensive. It's less offensive. We're so funny. But, but I thought I, because I was like, well, I'm not offended.

I'm hurt. Mm-hmm. Okay. In my mind, just go with me. In my mind there's a difference. I don't like words either. Like submission. I get it though. Like we, we just did a whole podcast on submission, so, so watch it. Um, I get that we're supposed to. Yeah, totally. I'm just on my journey still. Still. And I get her is offense.

I get it. But that's what it was. And so I'm choosing a different, I'm choosing a different feeling. Praise God. Yeah. And look at the victory and then that relieve them. Yeah. And you and me. Yeah. They don't owe me anything. Nope. I think that's called forgiveness and it's gonna free up your brain uhhuh and your time and your energy Yeah.

To do what God called you to. And every time that tries to come back, I'm going to resist it. Mm-hmm. I'm say no, bring it in alignment with Christ. We have a whole, uh, podcast on that too. I'm just pitching everything, man. You are. I'm turning into like a full podcast salesperson now that I, and we've got one on there and one for you on that.

That's good. Yeah. So we, we see why it's important, right? Right. Mm-hmm. We need a companion to lift each other up, to hold each other accountable. Mm-hmm. To keep us warm. Yeah. And to keep, keep the enemy from getting in our mind and telling us a story that's not true. Right. Right. And creating division and hatred or whatever.

'cause I don't wanna be mad at anybody. Nos except the enemy. It's not even in your nature. No. I, I just wanna be, I just don't wanna like the enemy. That's it. No. Yeah. But my, especially my fellow believers. I don't wanna be used as a tool for the enemy. No. And I think it really is a good place to happen in isolation.

Yeah. That is when I've been used by the enemy or my flesh the most in a, in a non purposeful, destructive way is when I was isolated. Right. For sure. Mm-hmm. And so what do we do? Well, we're called to assemble, right? We're called to be friends. We're called, and you know, I, we are the church. Yeah. That means that you and I are the church.

We are called to assemble. And Jesus went to synagogue. Yeah. They went to, I mean, you know their church, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. And so I think it's important, um, Paul wrote Timothy letters on how the church should behave. Yeah. So I think we're supposed to be in church. Mm-hmm. Right? He, I agree. Just tells us to assemble.

I didn't use to believe that. Um, I know I did. I didn't either. I was like, no, it's just my own relationship. It's my, it's my church. Yeah. It's outside. I've gonna go hike Nature's my church. I wonder if that's a spirit, because one of the things that you said were the same things I said. Interesting. Uhhuh.

And, uh, yeah, and I was corrected and ditto because when I did come to church and developed godly relationships with wise counsel, with people, I was corrected. And my growth has grown exponentially. Yes. In comparison to what it did when I was trying to do this on my own with my errant theology that I made up.

Right, right. Because there's no correction out in the wilderness. No, there's not. I mean, there is God, but sometimes when you're learning to discern God's voice, you can mix yours up in there. Yeah. Well, and when you listen to a pastor, um, somebody minister and speak word, like, you know, during covid, going back to that.

Yeah. Um, and when, where we were located in southeast Idaho. The, we did not have access to a church like we did here. Mm-hmm. Or like we do here, multiple churches. It was very small town. And in that small town there was not a lot of options. Mm-hmm. So we were watching online and those are great messages.

We watched multiple people and so I, and, and me, I was listening to podcasts, I was listening to this. Mm-hmm. And, and so I'm just getting fed, but now I need to talk to somebody about it. Mm-hmm. I need to talk about that word because that word applying in my life, in my situation, whatever I'm going through, is not necessarily how the minister or pastor was teaching on it.

Right. And so I need to commune with people to talk and, and, and like, how do I apply this? Or do you apply this this way or, you know, you need to have that. Amen. You, you need to have that. You do. It's so important. You need to have that relationship with a pastor or leader or leadership. As well as with people within the church.

You, you, you could people, lots of people, I know lots of people that go to the church but don't have any relationships. Mm-hmm. I, 'cause I, I would go around and buzz around and be like, hi, hi. Introduce myself to a lot of people and, and hug. And, and I know there's a lot of people that attend church that just go on Sundays or Wednesdays or whatever days on occasion and don't, they don't commune, they don't, they don't fellowship.

They don't have anybody. And, and I feel for them and I think it's important. So how do you do this? Okay. So I think of somebody that I know who just really has a hard time making new friends. Yeah. And wants a certain person to be that person and that person doesn't want to. Mm-hmm. So. You have to go make new friends.

Yeah. I, I, of course suggest finding the church and different, something, different things happen in church. Yes. Right. I can watch online. It is different. In church, the message is different. The Holy Spirit is there, there is an energy and experience that you have with God and worshiping in a corporate setting.

Right, right. That doesn't happen even at, well, I mean, I guess sometimes when I worship at home too, that will happen. But it is different when we're all together praising God. Right. When I went to, um, Bible college mm-hmm. I had the option to do Bible college online, and I considered it because then I wouldn't have to go in there.

But when I went in and I've, I've received healing, not in a corporate setting. Mm-hmm. But I've also received healing in the corporate setting. And I'll tell you what. It was different. It was tangibly different. Mm-hmm. Because at that point, the Holy Spirit was working through the pastor and speaking directly to me.

And again, I'm, I'm not taking anybody's experiences away. I've had experiences on the other, on the other end, but, you know, there is a difference mm-hmm. In corporate versus, I mean, God is, he's willing to touch you and get to you any way he can. That's that's what he wants to do. Um, but if you have the option, choose that option because you have, again, it comes back to what you have to give.

Mm-hmm. As much as you have to receive. Praise God. And I, I think I remember when I was earlier in my walk and I was asking God about love, like, I want to know what it feels like to hug you. Mm-hmm. Like, I want to know what that feels like and that this woman walks up. Hmm. And she comes. And gives me the biggest hug at church.

Like, I'm like, oh, was it at the church that, at the vineyard. Okay. Okay. And, um, I was like, oh, that's, that's how you show us physical love. Mm-hmm. Like you are sending your people. Yeah. We are his people. The other people are his people that are giving us a love. Part of the love he shows us is through this friendship.

Yeah. Is through the people that speak a word over you or give you that hug or care for you. It's so interesting that you say that. So when I went to church the first time and I had received healing, that was the first time I was in a charismatic church or Okay. A church like that. And so it was very different for me and I was scared.

I thought I was dying while I was. I, I think, um, I was scared and I was so emotional and, and I was sitting there with my friend. There was this lady who was there, and she turned to me and I, I guess she could tell that I was new. I don't know. But she said, excuse me. And I looked at her and I, yeah. And she says, can I give you a hug?

And I was like, what? And she goes, Jesus wants you to know how much he loves you. Oh. And I was like, sure. And I'm telling you, the peace that came over me was like a hug that I have never felt ever. Yes. I want another one. I do too. I have not had one since that one. Me either. It was, and I was like, I mean, I had heard of Jesus in passing and talking and people talking about Jesus and the.

But that was the first time I experienced him on such a tangible level. It's another display of God. So I asked a question, I sought him out by going to church. Mm-hmm. And he gave it to me. Yeah. He's so good. He's so good. We ask, we seek, we knock. He shows up. He does. He does. He really does. So he does. Um, don't be afraid to ask.

My people don't have because they don't ask. Yeah. We, I can, let me give you one. This is, this is cute. So my daughter was with her friends, um, this is a, a week or so ago. And so I had been calling her and I'm like, you little stinker, you're not answering my call. So I said to my husband, call her. So he calls, she's not answering.

So Scott is getting upset and I'm like, you know what, hold on. Holy Spirit, thank you that you let Finley know that mom and dad are trying to get ahold of her and that she needs to call us. Holy Spirit, thank you. And so we touched on it and less than a minute later, Finley's calling Scott. She's like, hi daddy.

Aw. He's like, Finley, we've been trying to get ahold of you. She goes, I know. And he goes, can I ask you why you called now? What happened? She goes, well, I was just standing there and all of a sudden I was like, oh, I need to check my phone. And I checked my phone and then I knew I had to call you guys. He cares so much.

It's just the little things. Okay. I gotta cue the story. Yeah. Since we're testifying. Yeah. Um, early on my walk, I was trying to do a plank. Yeah. And I'm asking, God, help my body get in this. 'cause this was when I was gonna teach yoga. Um, we'll have a whole different discussion on that. Please don't blame me.

But here God met me there. He met me on the map. Yeah. And he showed me what I needed to do with my body. Like it kind of just moved there. Yeah. And I just broke. Hmm. I was like, you care about this, about that? Yeah. This is so little and silly and there's like people starving in the world. There's crazy stuff He cares about all of it.

All of it. All of it. And that was when I was all in. Yeah. I'm like, okay, I get you. Yeah. I'm in. Like, you care about something so silly. That is important to me, but not really important in the whole scheme of things. Right. He does. He cares about those things. Yes. And it's awesome. And it's, and it's just that confirmation, it builds my trust in him and, you know, and, and, and it's Scott and I doing these things together as parents, and it's him and I going, oh, okay, maybe we don't really need these things all the time.

Yeah. Maybe I can just rely upon the Lord. Yes. And I don't have to rely upon Google and, or my phone. I lost my wedding ring. Okay. And I could not find it anywhere, but I just wasn't worried about it. I was like, it'll show up. Yeah. Like I don't care. It'll show up. Yeah. And so about week two or three, my husband was starting to get mad.

Oh. He's like, where's your wedding ring? Where's your ring? I'm like, it'll show. I'm just kind of like, he's like a little more that guy. And I'm just like, it'll work out. Yeah. It'll hide it. Yeah. It, I mean where could it be like, yeah. So I was starting to feel bad 'cause he was getting like upset about it.

'cause I was going everywhere without a ring. Yeah. I guess. Well he must think I'm hot. He must think I'm all that. Are you putting yourself back on the market? This kind whatcha doing? Yeah. Is this a compliment? So anyway, so I, so I, I've started to feel bad. It's like, okay, so this is stressing him out. I don't want him to be stressed out about something that like this.

So I prayed. I prayed and I prayed for just a little bit. 'cause I, I. I wanted to find it. I said, God, you know, please lead me to it. I got in the car and I drove to where I showed a house two or three weeks earlier it with him. I go, come with me in the middle of the street. Frozen in the ice was my ring. No way.

Yeah. So what I had probably had done, 'cause I always take my ring off and put lotion on my hands, right? And it must have fallen off my lap. Oh. And it was frozen in the middle of the road. We walked, praise the Lord. We drove right to it. Praise the Lord. Yeah. He cares about all of it. He does. And you know what?

Okay, I gotta tell one more story. So again, this is Finley. So she's on the golf team at her school and just this past week, she had her first tournament. And so I had told her, I said, Finley, you're good. You just, you just be you. And, um, you know, don't feel pressure. You're the only one that's pressuring yourself.

So don't receive that. Don't take that pressure. Okay, mom. So she says, so I was doing good and I get to this par three and she's on the par three. And so she hits the ball and it's short. So she's like, okay. So I hit it again, I chipped it and I'm still short. So she's like, so now I know it's a, it's, it's, it's, I gotta put it in.

So I go to put it mom and the ball just sat on the edge, on the rim of the hole. It was just sitting there and she goes, and it stopped. And, and I looked at it and she goes, and you know what? I hear the window knock it in. And so she goes, so. I just turn around and one of the coaches was in the golf cart and he's like, Finley, do you wanna go knock that in?

She goes, Nope, I'm good. And she goes, and I turn around and I'm walking off and I hear this dink and the, and the ball go in the hole. Yeah. I love it. Just the little things. Even in a person's golf game, a little girl, he cares about 13-year-old golf. You know? It's just, he cares. He's so good. Yeah. This is why I did this podcast, because I want red ledger.

I want his, the testimonies of life with him. I want people to hear him. Yeah. I, this is what I want. It's important. It is. Because it builds our faith. It builds our faith in remembering it. Yeah. This is what we thank him for when we pray. Yeah. So we are called to assemble. Right, right. Because obviously you can meet somebody like this, you can have a friendship like this.

Yeah. Right? Mm-hmm. So I think if that's hard for you, join a life group, join Bible study, join stuff. Just do hard stuff. Right. It, it's, it, it is necessary to have godly people in your life. If you don't, if going to that life group is too much, start with something online. Start with what you can do and stop judging yourself.

There is a podcast that we did, I'm gonna plug it that we did, is the Grace, you know, and it's about the judgment that we have placed upon ourselves or upon others. It's okay. You know, I, I was going to church and sitting in my car and watching church online 'cause I couldn't be in there while my family was sitting in and listening.

You are walking it out. I was walking it out. It doesn't always look like perfection the first day. No, it's hard. And I did that for months. Yes. And sometimes I called my friend and said, please come get me. I can't handle it. So I left and then, and what was great about her, she's like, it's okay, Lisa, you can try it again next week.

And I was like, grace, I can. I can. Okay. I'm gonna, so even if it's a online something, join it so that you can start the connection. We, we need connections. We do. You, you have to. I am not where I'm at without the Lord and my connections through other people. Amen. He worked through them to me. Amen. Like this whole entire podcast was based a little bit on a conversation I had at church last week with Angie.

Mm. Because I thought I was doing something right that I wasn't Ah. Mm-hmm. And I got corrected and I'm like, oh, there, you know, there's, I, I'm not right on this. Right. Johnny Carson had Ed McMahon. I'm just gonna say Yes. You bounce stuff off somebody. Yeah. You have, you have, you gotta have. You gotta have somebody.

And I think sometimes you need multiple somebodies mm-hmm. Stronger. Yeah. Right? Mm-hmm. Because, you know, and I'm not saying that we need to make a poll of things. No. Like we don't have to take a poll when there's a problem. We do. If, if we get caught in the weeds, if our mind's not right sometimes. 'cause that happens, right.

'cause our flesh gets in, the enemy gets in, whatever. Yeah. A lie. It is important to have somebody there to help you see the truth. Right. Um, whether that be a spouse, a friend, a whole community. Right. You, you need to reconsider your life if you are out there alone. Yes. And you do not have to be lonely.

Right. You don't, there, there is a tribe for you. I think I'm this huge misfit that I don't really fit in anywhere and I found my people. Mm-hmm. Right. I found people who appreciate me for who I am that I'm, I'm not like. I think everybody else besides, but I think that's the problem. Everybody kind of feels like a misfit.

Yes, I agree. Everybody really feels like me. Like we just don't really fit in 'cause of some reason. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But that's not true at, at all. No, it's a lie. It's an absolute lie. You know, somebody was telling me one, one time, well, I'm just this way and, and I will say comparatively to people, they were a little bit more different.

Mm-hmm. And I'm not gonna judge it as good or bad. They're just different. Mm-hmm. And I said to them, I go, maybe you are this way because you are the only person that can reach people that have the same characteristics and traits as you do. Amen. I don't know that I could reach those people. Right. You have to.

So embrace who you are and don't try to be like me. Or you or whomever, you know, be you, be the most you, you can be. Exactly. Praise God because you were created to be you. Yeah. For a reason so that somebody could relate with you. Yeah. Why relating with you. That's why, you know, I don't know if I believe in soulmates or whatever, but I do.

If I were to believe that, I do believe my husband is the right man for me. That we compliment each other Yes. In all of the right ways, that he has wisdom and patience, and I have a more boldness. Mm-hmm. Um, and it works. Right. It works. And sometimes it doesn't. Yeah. Because we're married. Yeah. And it's not all perfect, right?

Yeah. But it is, we're walking that out. Mm-hmm. You know, we're 30 some years in and I would do it over with him. Yeah, totally. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And I. Praise God that I have that warmth. Yeah. That strength. Yeah, that comfort. And so how can you be a misfit? You know, I think that's, that's the, that's the great label that the enemy puts upon us.

Yes. Or plants in us so that we can, can, I'm not get close to you. I better move away because you are gonna think, well, on some essence, I'm rejecting myself. Oh. And I'm having, and I'm projecting that onto you, and you're, you know, you're, and you probably will reject me because this is what I'm putting off, right?

Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. So we need to learn to accept ourselves a little bit more that we are okay. Just the way we are. Yeah. Even as broken as we are. Yep. And God was okay with that, with you. Yeah. Uhhuh, he knew who you were. Exactly. And he still is calling you. He called you to this channel to watch this right now.

Yeah. He knew exactly, you know, with like what I had said. And, um, he knew what you, he knows the ending from the beginning. Yes. So he knows all the mistakes, all the things that you are, I mean, the things I haven't even done, he knows 'em. Right. And he still chose you. He still chose me. I still have gifts. I love that.

So I did, I do get that. That's what I learned from our podcast on Grace from you. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Is you And I just say go watch it. Yeah. If you, if you need more grace in your life, watch it. Go make friends. Right. Mm-hmm. Go find a community to be part of. Mm-hmm. Um, I suggest church because wise council will be found there.

Yes. Right? Mm-hmm. And also let God help you. Lead you. Yeah. Let God help lead you to the person and the people that he wants you to be part of. Yeah. You know, I praying for great friends and I have them like, I, I'm so grateful. Yeah. Pray to be yoked up with, with the right people. Yes. Yes. And he will put that together because he wants iron to sharpen iron.

He does. It's his thing. Mm-hmm. And he wants you supported. He doesn't want you isolated. He doesn't. And he wants to see us doing things together. He likes that. This is kind of fun. It's right. It's, he brings it brings him joy. Yes. To see his daughters working together and laughing uhhuh and sharing what he's done in our lives.

Yes. So thank you guys so much for joining us today. I really appreciate it. Make sure to like and subscribe. It helps us and consider if you need a gift, go to red ledger gifts.com and if you're not saved, you can be. Yes. Um, we've all fallen short. We've all sinned. We came to God dirty. Okay. And he cleaned us up.

Yes. And on the outside, if you're not saved, I'm not saying I'm better than, I'm not saying I'm all clean, but he did make me clean. Amen. That's his word. He said all of my sins were forgiven. Mm-hmm. There were remembered no more. Mm-hmm. Jesus came and he died on that cross so that I wouldn't have to pay.

For the sins mm-hmm. That I have committed. And he has done the same for you. And he is reaching his hand out to you right now. Mm-hmm. And saying, I did this for you too. Mm-hmm. And he wants you to join us as brothers and sisters in Christ if you're not saved. And, and you just have to accept that forgiveness and say, Hey, yeah, Jesus, I believe in you.

I believe you are my savior. Mm-hmm. I believe you rose and died on that third day. So if you're not saved, we're just gonna pray right now. Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah. Thank you Father for sending your son and letting him die on that cross so that I could be saved so that there was a way for me, thank you, God, that I do not have to perish and that I can live and have a life abundant, I confess.

That you, Jesus, our Lord. Mm-hmm. I repent of all of my sins. I come to you God, and expect the robe of righteousness to be covered me because that is your word. Mm-hmm. That I am clean and that you remember my sins No more. I believe that Jesus died and rose three days later and he's coming again. Mm-hmm.

Thank you God. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Mm-hmm. Welcome to the family. Yes. Yes. Oh, so if you are saved, and dunno what that means to do next. I was a little lost and floundered. So we wrote, or I wrote. But you're editing, um, a piece about now I'm saved or. So I'm saved now what? Now what? Mm-hmm. Yeah.

And it's on red ledger.com and you can go and just a little bit halfway down the page, you can just click on that link and it'll kind of show you what, what to do next and, you know, get a bible, get some friends, all this stuff.
