What is The YOU.PRJCT+ Show?

The YOU.PRJCT+ Show is the conversation behind YOU.PRJCT+, the platform under the process. Henry and Harrison Schertzinger, twin brothers, coaches and founders, read the great books out loud and ask what they ask of us: the investment you make in yourself every day, the order that lets a person flourish, and the long work of becoming.

Formerly The Infinite Game Podcast.

Henry how we doing? Great great I shared this morning it's kind of funny the
early stages of being an entrepreneur are so hard because everything you're
working on is just like a figment of your imagination and there's hard to
bring like real life force behind it when you know things are just like
significantly far off in the distance and I feel like the last two or three
weeks I've had like the best energy ever doesn't mean you can defy the laws of
physics like I have to still drink water and make sure diet is dialed but just
the act of getting into motion is the easiest it's ever been oh yes things
are more real when you're fighting building for something real it doesn't
feel like you're expending your energy on something that there has been no
feedback loop no affirmation like you're saying and anybody listening to if
you haven't went through an entrepreneurial endeavor effort you
don't it's impossible to explain to someone how crazy you feel with the idea
in your head and when the idea has been in our head for so long yeah it is so
rejuvenating and you wake up you know you're working on something that's real
yeah we started to move this for a little we said the this morning you know
there's that joke that Donald Trump only sleeps three hours and you start to
Henry said you know I could kind of see how someone like him these big guys they
just do not sleep because one they don't really work out but to what they're
working on is so engaging it's so invigorating and there's gonna be so real
yeah and there's so many people vying for your energy and your attention like
you're in demand at all times and that's an honor to be responsible for specific
things like to have a portion that is growing and expanding now obviously you
don't get that role until you've shown and been proven to be trustworthy in
some some key areas but yet no that is incredibly true which is as things become
more real everything is more exciting everything's more encouraging I texted a
friend the other day ask how I was and I've just said it's almost like we've
made it through this stage of immense fatigue like you're just you're carrying
all of this and then finally it's starting to be out in the world and it's
hands-on and it's it's not action-packed but it's the and also too we have
different tools in our hands you know the tools that we're using today are
completely different than what we're being used three weeks ago four weeks
ago five weeks ago that's the incredible thing about the acceleration of
technology we're seeing right now so it's just such a gift before we begin we
probably want to say changing the show obviously yeah you you project show
aligning brands and it's just a real the infinite game fits perfectly inside of
it I mean yes it also that was an incredible brand Simon Sinek kind of
owns the concept of infinite game obviously the economist who wrote it
that's was his but you project genuinely has been a genesis from Change
University where we used to write change with the YOU spelling University and
saying the single most important education you can have is in being a
high-performing human being and how to use your mind and body and to align it
to the things that actually matter so few people understand you're living on
autopilot you're stuck in past patterns that you can use your mind to change
your brain to permanently change your mind and to help yourself in the world
and that you have something genuine and real to do and yeah like it has to be
brand alignment yeah and we're putting not so much all of our eggs in one
basket but the nice thing about you project is one of course we have the app
the service the platform the community the brand with the clothing in the books
I mean it's an incredibly big vision as it starts to move forward but also the
exciting thing will be you know every time we land a partner bringing a
director on seeing the athletes contribute more and more bringing
athletes on see great thought leaders in a number of spaces and helping any area
of our lives I mean you as the project you know one of the intro lines could
easily be where we talked about the most important project in the world it's you
it's you you know you get a better life gets better you change the world changes
yeah it's the investments that you make in yourself daily and that's a classic
Jim Rohn line Tony Robbins line the greatest investment you can make is in
yourself because you're the vehicle you're the tool through which you get to
contribute through so that is exactly what this show of course with the
infinite game was about but more so now with brand alignment understanding that
yeah this is a lifestyle it is an ethos that you live I forgot who we were
talking to yesterday but they said you know so what happens if user retention
goes down and I almost think the recovery question is you give up on
yourself like to me it's so all encompassing like it's so all
incumbency and I can't say the word right now but the point is yes yeah
exactly that which is if the product itself underpins your process yeah you
know if it's time allocation and consistency towards the things that
matter also supporting and being supported towards the people I care about
there's no giving up on that there's never a turning back there's only a
continual ascendance and understanding all right how I direct and affine and
refine my attention and intention is the ultimate skill I mean genuinely I think
the modern mind we are so disillusioned disoriented we're continually engaged
in self-sabotage we've lost our way for so far we it's like if you go on a 15
minute walk you feel like your Buddha and if you don't scroll on your phone
for one day you feel like you've all of a sudden entered a monastic way of life
and that's how people you literally used to be for all of human history and now
because we are running at rpm 180 or way higher we've lost self-control we've
lost yeah yeah the top and the more so the bottom up though is we're in
fight-or-flight at all times the anxious generation book is incredibly startling
it's it's an incredible indictment on you know we're living in a science
experiment right now and nobody knows how this is gonna go like social media
social media okay the constant hijacking of your attention and dopamine and just
the zombie level state that so many people are in but also the identity
crisis that so many people are in I think that's why there's the return of
orthodoxy though people want something that feels ancient and unmoving and
recall like returns them to something that's symbolic beyond what they're
engaging with in nature yeah I've wrote these three things just upon the name
change and it's it's these three coherent significance and purpose kind
of what we're all looking for coherence is awesome because there's should be a
feedback between the world and me there's this co-hearing going on when the
world speaks I listen when I speak there's some sort of also then response
from the world like there's that again coherence complete alignment but also a
harmony yeah and a reciprocal exchange a reciprocal exchange talks about harmony
yeah there's harmony and reciprocal exchange between the world because
here's number two significance I've I've gotten to something so hard so real okay
I've started to touch reality where I will sign myself to it okay I found
something that's genuinely like again that's where of course the word
signature comes from I found something significant that I will sign myself to
I've started to touch reality I've started to conceive the world not from
the surface level whims of the ego but I've started to feel like I can touch
something that all is like threaded itself through all of human history and
then purpose right I am proposing of like hey this is now what I'm dedicated
towards right and that those three right there set up a really powerful oh my gosh
a framework where you know what I've set up not even a mental frame but my
process to where I'm feeling feedback from the world every time internally I
shift something externally shift when I feel like you know what I need some help
someone shows up when I need some inspiration something flickers okay
that's this coherence that starts to happen significance is all of a sudden
things I've landed in a few timeless moments timeless moments that connects
me with people that have been dead for hundreds and hundreds of years but all
of a sudden their words resonate with like oh my gosh that's here and now I'm
still I'm still experiencing this this sacredness and reverence towards moments
that are untrammeled by a lot of the things we get pulled and scattered in
and then purpose which is oh my gosh I have an orientation I have a name I have
an orientation I have a name that's why we say you of course on the you project
side of things but now that's the central thesis which is you have
something real to do yeah and it's from that book the war of art which is if
you were supposed to cure cancer write a symphony produce an incredible an
incredible piece of artwork that was gonna inspire millions and you don't
you've harmed everybody and so if you do not actualize on your potential meaning
put some sort of structure ordering structure underneath all of or not even
underneath around so potential potential turns into actual skill character virtue
okay those things have to be formed we're biological like we're bio yeah
the foundation is biology it takes real adaptation over time and so you have
that structure and that's what we'll continue to talk about down there's so
much there yeah there's so much there but a hundred percent significance purpose
coherence coherence being in harmony I mean you see anyone that has any sort of
anxiety in their environment yeah it's because it's not even that they're out
of line with their expectations but they're not walking in what is expected
from either the environment or themselves yeah there's no there's no
harmony we were talking last night with our family about there's a moment where
we used to drive a Honda CRV fine car golf cart good for high school kids but
there's a point in which that fell out of harmony with our identity felt
incredibly restrictive and that's the same where when you go from the internal
to external approach yo you know what a messy room is is out of alignment yeah a
messy desk is out of alignment you know a disordered and disorganized space is
out of alignment with the order that I've started to bring in rain in on my
internal world and that's when you get this yeah third stage of there is no
separation between me and the world goes back shift it goes back to that question
about user retention it's like there's a point where me keeping track of the
allocation of my time and just seeing this portfolio of what I care about not
being able to do that would be taking a piece of me away like yeah seeing where
time is going and just putting together this portfolio of what like where my
attention is yeah that's gonna just be a lifestyle that evolves and grows yeah the
continual pursuit of process goals unlocks and makes outcome goals natural
extensions and that's a massive shift that's when you don't all of a sudden
feel like things are being pursued from such scarcity but of natural alignment
with like no no no every day I show up Jesse it's like there's a great line too
where he goes you're genuinely free if you have three hours a day to invest in
you yeah and that's where you're kind of looking for for everybody which is you
know what are your metrics that you are saying matter for you that underpin you
for me it's strength and conditioning mobility cardio and reading if I get
those in I'm gonna have a freaking awesome day yeah and I mean to pay you
back on reading the classics collection that we've got with you project one I'm
so proud of all links will be shown yeah all links will be in show notes
obviously but I care about web pages you should go look I'm so grateful not what
we're able to do is one the public domain has existed forever but when you
think in years past if you were wanting to print a book from the public domain
you would literally have to paste text box to put text boxes copy and paste
words from a PDF and then lay out the book like it was so tedious to do that
and now with the tools that are in tech you it's not just laying out the book
that's easier it's making the book a work of art that is an up-leveled tool
yeah and one thing I love about the classics collection that we've got is
after every single chapter there's an essay and then after the essay there's
nuggets of gold and then after the nugget nuggets of gold there's contextual
assignment of like what it's calling you to I mean it's incredible yeah and what
that's gonna do I mean I'm reading when I read the books I were printing one I'm
so proud of this election yeah the selection is awesome but just thinking
in context of a player reading this for the first time like I just continually I
continually right we've read James we've read them all I read under each
paragraph like like may they all read this may they all read this may they all
read this is so so important because I brought up at dinner last night once you
see someone is either a jester of the culture meaning the culture tells them to
dance and they dance and then the culture changes changes the song and say
dance like this and then they dance like that it's like they're literally just a
gesture of the culture there's no time set of side for self actualization and
in an actual purposeful way yeah and um this one obviously James Allen you can
literally underline every single sentence but the first thing I kind of
put stars by wanting to bring to the show is man is where he is that he may
learn that he may grow and he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance
contains for him and that passes away and gives place to another circumstance
basically calling the idea of like if you are not seeing that your current
circumstance has a lesson for you yes and it's not just like to glaze over
your eyes and then cope and try to make it to the next one it's like this this
thing we see which is take the path of least resistance at all times and then
cope with whatever comes next and it's it's not it's not healthy yeah no
there's so much peace so much peace found in fully recognizing that crisis
gives way to clarity as long as you don't retreat yeah as long as you don't
retreat to the immature lenses that you used to look through immature being not
even hedonistic but it's really the prioritization of the opinions of others
yeah I think that's a good definition of immaturity the repetition of and near
sighted and you're cited because I was amazing yesterday I kept smiling to
myself thinking man if someone watched me today they might make the remark do
you not want to enjoy your Sunday and it's like yeah but I I have a more
compelling future vision that I want to enjoy work is really fun work is really
fun I agree it's an incredible I absolutely loved my Sunday regardless but at the same time maturity is
understanding there's a future vision that I really want to stand in yeah and I
will I don't need to go partake in going and taking 45 minutes to get a donut on
a Sunday like I do think very important though I just want to restate this which
is crisis will give where way to clarity and if you know that in a circumstance
you know biblically from slavery desert promised land you must go through the
desert and that right there if you can get comfortable there I mean I even will
go through of course I mean I go through moments of like and Henry knows anybody
around me knows there's points where I feel like a ghost right you can see in
my eyes and I know I'm in like observation mode of my ego in crisis but
clarity always comes right this Sun always rises Don always breaks and there's
things being wrestled whether it be priorities whether it be places that
your emotion and energy and attention were being pulled to and all the sudden
constraints and things just have to get naturally reworked and you
give space to that and you allow this kind of cascade of insights to unveil
themselves and then you follow you follow but you can't retreat in crisis you
can't retreat okay you get patient get you get clear you pray obviously but you
confront we face yet you leave space for the insight to reveal yet revelation to
reveal okay here's the next step forward this is where clarity comes and then all
of a sudden it is the re clarification of priorities and when once that said yeah
I mean I shared it practice on Saturday hey get used to this if you were doing
the drill well I would just change the drill make it harder like if you were
doing that pass iteration correct I would just up level it and make sure
we're always finder finding the limiter like that the more you look back the
more you wish when you're young all you did is attack your weaknesses like the
fact is you know the master skill too because I'm working Henry where is right
now on Saturdays working with our older players I'm working with the younger
players and so you get a confront really the limitation of attention which is
which is fine but there was this great as listening to it yesterday which is
the vocabulary of explaining something is different than the vocabulary of
teaching something that and he was using in the realm of meditation which is
people say hey be present but what does that mean it's renewed and continued
renewed interest continued renewed interest that's a skill yeah that's a
skill and that's what I mean my insight for today it brings back that really not
ancient word powerful spiritual word earnestness you have to be earnest
sincere and intense focused my heart is engaged and my mind is locked in my
whole being is here that's that renewed interest yeah I've loved that which is
hey be present what does that mean I have to continually renew my interest in
like okay I used the line compelling vision of the future because if not
you're stuck in the past you will be stuck in the memories and patterns of
the past the emotional response the emotional responses and triggers and
inhabits and all that stuff it has to be constructed and moved and and yeah I
don't know how we'd one do this show or build a you project if we didn't have
such repeated test cases of every single thing we're trying to yeah I mean it's
obviously everything works out and just in a beautiful divine tapestry with how
everything we used to gather but seeing a group of 30 to 50 teenagers every
single day in either confrontation with they want to be serious but there's an
environment around them that's not or we're trying to absolutely whip an
insane amount of discipline in and just seeing where the resistance is and these
postures of who can stay interested or who has a goal before their eyes versus
who clearly does not they're such real variables that you can't you can't miss
you can't play without no yeah no I said the other day to our players you want to
be schooled in the art of inevitability yeah that this is from some perspectives
it is so obvious the track that people are walking the results that they're
gonna get and if you don't shift or you don't elevate yeah or you don't alter
the process the inputs the time that's being allocated you know where the amount
of drama you're allowing to get into your life what you're lying to control
your emotional state you're gonna hey I really want to help you right now but
this is this is not gonna work yeah yeah you're gonna burn out this is you're
gonna burn your system it's a classic James Allen which is men are anxious to
improve their circumstance but are unwilling to improve themselves they
therefore remain bound yeah yeah it's like hey that's it I see that line is I
see you complaining about getting stressed out when you're going into one
on one or when you have to catch lefty with a little pressure on your inside
shoulder like fix it go home and fix it you have to change yourself there's no
way around this blocker like and obviously we're currently in an endeavor
where the constraints are like very real physically if you're not strong enough
to lift the weight you can't do it if you don't have the skill it's not even
possible so it's like you have to just you got to do the thing yeah I think you
have to set the arena properly too there's this great kind of cognitive
science thesis that the agent and arena relationship is almost primary so you
could be yelling at the agent meaning person say you got to do this you gotta
do this but you almost want to take a step back and like yo have you set the
arena up properly are you even in pursuit of something that matters to you
if not yet you're not gonna put energy in to fix something that's ridiculously
uncomfortable and going to be very challenging and so that's a that's a
skill in itself obviously that's the purpose of this show that's the purpose
of podcasts and reading is it starts to allow you to construct the landscape the
arena and that's what we've always said we're masters of meaning you know I can
strap this moment with a ton of meaning and you could say you know it's not that
deep and I could say it is that deep everything is that every place that your
eyes go is revealing your priorities it's every place your time and attention
goes is revealing your priorities it is that deep yeah if you want to say I just
kind of waste ten minutes here ten minutes there okay that's fine I mean
that's normal but we could drive it all the way to that there is something that
is that deep yeah okay you're wasting something you're
lacking reverence towards something you're forgetting the purpose of
something and so and yes we and someone said on Saturday you know as leaders we
have to be the extreme position you know we are the extreme position obviously you
know Henry we don't have a TV here we don't really have any sort of interest
towards anything other than well we love sports I'm more saying the entertainment
culture we're very we engage in very little entertainment and it's not
something that's forced like it's genuinely something we don't really
resonate with and so we've taken the extreme position or we found ourselves
there it's not that we've taken it but point being is every everything can be
driven to meaning and purpose yeah now I'll say my line right here because this
is incredibly powerful about plants don't try to grow okay human beings we do have
to we do have to pour a ton of effort a ton of effort in now why because we can
put so many blockers up you know psychological emotional blockers that
just stop the progress that would naturally ensue if you were relentless
in the excavation of your habits and the end line I'll say the full one it goes
growth come growth comes effortlessly when the main obstacles inattention and
unawareness are removed in awareness you grow that's why when someone says you
know it's not that deep and you it is that deep yeah I want to drive towards
the core of this I want to understand we're like where are you going unconscious
yeah where are you taking something for granted now here's the whole line which
is it is your childness you are returning to you're not fully grown up
there are levels left undeveloped because unintended just give full
attention to what is in you that is still crude and primitive unreasonable
and unkind and altogether childish and you will ripen it is the maturity of
heart and mind that is essential it comes effortlessly when the main obstacles
inattention and unawareness are removed in awareness you grow that is the power
of one having mentors that can look at you and say yeah crisis is coming
because you're putting a lot of tension on who you are and who you want to
become and in that decisions are have to be made they're gonna be painful yeah
like things are gonna start to fall apart things are gonna start to shake up
things not gonna have to be synthesized but are gonna have to be clarified yeah
about hey what do you want what needs to be left in the past what has to be cut
where are you still being absolutely childish still a victim of like hey mom
dad come save me here or oh the world is against me here and how do you put
yourself into and I love it is your childish it is your childishness you are
returning to yeah so powerful but then seeing that he this is Maharaji he goes
it comes effortlessly but then he goes when the main obstacles are removed yeah
the removal the that that that's effort mm-hmm that's that earnestness he points
at where he says again earnestness is the golden key that means my heart is
sincere my mind is incredibly focused I know something has to be removed here
something has to give like there's a way in which my energy is being completely
diffused my attention is going to places that are massively disorienting and for
me to set to me for me to stay committed long-term and to like hold on to belief
things have to be removed there's and you have to decide there's a moment for
choosing we used to say to last thing I say we used to say to our people when
they're really close to us which is has there been friction among your friends
mm-hmm like has there been almost an identity crisis starting to reveal itself
and that's not from a place of negativity that goes back to the earlier
car you truly changing if yes therefore your environment needs to change with you
or you're gonna change your environment is your are you breaking through your
past ego and putting yourself into a state of almost identity crisis but
eventual identity clarification where you are stronger you have let go of the
the things that were weak from your past self but you've expanded your capacity
yeah to include everything from the past and what's new in the future and that is
until you're comfortable going from crisis to clarity crisis to clarity
crisis clarity strength and you you are aware of just like continually
sacrificing things but I mean I remember there's awesome attire yeah there's this
awesome line of Jordan Peterson where he talks about people being like lethally
efficient or just deadly efficient and you're like okay yeah I kind of see how
that's possible I mean my morning routine couldn't get more efficient now I
could synthesize I mean really I can't I can't find it I'm not spending any time
writing I read from three different books I go from one place to the next
even my daily the way I load up the coffee maker I'm like getting the
rhythm of that down as quick as I feel like you can be I think you have to be
deadly efficient but that comes from like the maturity of this moment matters
and there's these lines that I think all the time and a lot of things people
think they don't actually want those to that to be true and then things they
shake their head out of like no it's not true no those are the things you want to
be true which is this one good thoughts and actions can never produce bad
results bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results someone would
hear that and be like that's just not that's just not true you have to want
that to be true yeah and you have to want the idea that if you account for
almost every second of your day intentionally and sincerely even if it's
not perfect because it'll never be perfect like I catch myself all the time
saying mmm miss that minute like that scroll was not worth it like I went to I
went to axe looking for something bad news there's no news there's that helped
me execute what I needed no no news was helping me there like I catch myself all
the time but at this I also believe in the fact counting for your it's going to
pay off but you can't you can't believe the opposite yeah that just leads
eventually to nihilism yeah no that's the the Tom B only belief that matters
when you put time and attention into something you will get better and that
getting better matters yeah I mean it affects your life in ways that is
beneficial and fulfilling brings happiness it blesses others when you
have that you look at people who are not trying yeah not trying her it's not even
complaining I mean I know school is just a whole different ball game but here's
it's actually here's a good exercise to do when you have time get a piece of
paper write things I want to be true and then just start writing those
statements down good thoughts produce good actions bad thoughts never produce
good I can change my environment culture can be elevated through my example boom
boom just go down the line start writing things that you want to be true but most
people again they have no it's not even awareness but they haven't spent time to
think into okay why is effort important why is the result of effort even worth
chasing then what is that drive the result of the way to the end yeah I mean
this is constantly what I do at training meaning for the players and why to face
weakness now why to it try to ascend past pattern like if you heard okay
tolerating you're coping constantly with oh I'm just the one that drops passes
sometimes yeah are you serious are you actually gonna think that no you do not
have to be the worst one in your environment ever like you don't you
don't have to tolerate that obviously for a time being you have to be okay with
being embarrassed and but never there's certain things you cannot agree for them
to be true yeah you can't be okay with that yeah it's funny too cuz we deal in
person with very blessed people yeah like these players who have never I'm not
never incorrect and obviously traumas relative but in terms of situations to be
raised up in we have very blessed athletes yeah that when we speak they
think oh this is so extreme and that this isn't really how the world works and
I'm not claiming to say this is how the world works I've we've been exposed to
ridiculous thinkers and we're very blessed to how but a few areas of awareness
has been has been kind of not even curated but unwrapped like whatever
point is this someone someone I say like why would I go through the effort of
giving up the lesser to pursue the unknown higher yeah and I'd want to say
you don't know how bad life can get yes like you don't develop your
communication skills you don't understand how bad divorce is a horrible
thing you don't have kids that hate you is a horrible thing
have been an uninspiring example to your environment is a horrible having a
terrible relationship is a horrible thing kids that hate you it's horrible
it's a worse than you can imagine situation and here's something to get to
that realization you may think it might not work out it might not work out if you
don't vote and this is the one thing I'd say anyone can point and say you've
never experienced those I've imagined the horrors in my mind to the degree to
the like we've seen in others yeah we've seen in others and this is this is a
tragedy even small senses of relationship friction in our own lives
you know Henry and I are very much you know when one of your central
relationships is a twin brother that you've had literally in your life at
every single moment when there's ever friction between other people in your
life it's a weird feeling you're like wait this isn't really how relationships
have to be like you know we can just fight it out right now and we could get
to the bottom of this we can just get to the other day yeah and we can just keep
moving and so when there's that tension there it feels awful like I feel it in
my body a ton and so that right there is me able to have a taste of I could if my
wife one day we're like unable to communicate through a pass or yeah a
friction point yeah because one of us it's not real it doesn't have to be a
reality like that can be fixed immediately yeah development development
saves you from pain yes momentary skills have utility one of the greatest lines
Tom B A to B the gap is skills increase your skills in every way and that's what
I talk about when we look at the equation equals the result in the amount of
variables that are in the equation people aren't granular enough and all the
things that go into who they're showing themselves to be on the field or in a
locker room or even just at school to their friends in relationships it's like
you elevating anything increases the equation and there are so many places to
improve your peace of mind to improve your time and attention mentally and
consciously and I mean detail and granularity and not having faith in
principles but in process detailed process is a major shift meaning one
could say hey if you just imagine doing something different here and then you do
that it'll work it will work and be like no it's not that's easier said than done
you're like no no no it can only be done that's the only way so plan out these
split decisions and go oh shoot man when I was when I walked into this room and I
saw that person this is how it made me feel hate that don't like feeling that
gross on the inside nor judging that person you know next time I see them I'm
gonna act like this I'm gonna feel this I'm gonna and all of a sudden you're
like easier said than done no it can only be done it has to be prepared than
done has to be prepared than done and it is that easy oftentimes it literally is
that even it is in terms of you read a self-help book and they tell you to write
your goals down and then five things that you can do directly connected to it
it is that easy now you got to do it for thousands and thousands of days for a
very long time and get ready for the self-doubt to come up but you know what
the hard part is doing all a thousand days in one day that's not possible you
can only do one day at a time and that's like it's I think the actions are the
easy part I would actually say the identity crisis the hard yes if you're
very un-native to the level of internal turmoil that comes from change meaning
when you're slavery desert promised land that desert area very few people they
start running they return back they start running the return back to the
familiar because the body our biology does not like once it's in patterns
doesn't like change doesn't like the unfamiliar and if you want a taste of
that try to take a cold shower and feel and think or feel and observe the
thoughts that you have in the feeling that your body gives you just for a
little bit of cold water yeah like that and then now extend that out to things
that actually matter that have genuine like I would say valence but
significance in your life yeah well this is a one of this is one of the last
things I'll say I've changed significantly how I've been reading since
designing the classics collection which has so many lines in the margin under
every single paragraph at the bottom of the page lines to write and it's this
idea of this book is written to you for you as an invitation for a future like
knew you and underneath every paragraph and the bottom of every single page when
you're writing your hopes for what this invitation is for or what's it calling
you to how's it challenging your past like that's the way this is done the
least painful you know the only other painful is like you're literally called
out by the results that you're not good enough current reality reality smacks
you in the face yeah if you can open up a book and say this book is written to me
to invite me into a new life and I'm going to just read it with a pen and
write on every page like how I can up level myself and yeah in these ways that
it's a kind of highlighting and again read receptively like though the spirit
is gonna it's going to be challenging you the whole time you never have to
worry about that yeah the vocabulary to understand too is you have to meet
problems in an expanded level of awareness and consciousness that gives
you new options and opportunities if not you're literally just trapped in
stimulus response stimulus response and you're just gonna continue to loop in
that or retreat the other thing and this is such a great point that changed my
life which is don't skip you can skip a meal never skip your reading time but
that points to the classics collection and the concept that reading for life is
so different than reading for school it is similar to saying that like hockey
and basketball are the same sports yeah they're so unreal they're same their
sports right fundamentally they're sports and you score but they're so
different and so if you have not tried that I am reading a light to unlock
something to get me out of something to free something to us I said what this
book has for me there's something in here that I know yeah it has something in
here I didn't here's the thing you have no idea what it is yeah and you also you
can't predict the cause and effect linear there's it's not linear it's going to be
exponential in its nature and how it shifts something it literally allows you
to see the world in a new way and then therefore see yourself in a new way
that's the whole concept of you project only to be read in the mirror I'm
constantly trying to figure out you know what I can't radically shift my
circumstances right now but something may dramatically change in how I conceive
of myself in the world and I go you know what what if I wasn't not good enough you
know what I was you know what I was smiling about this weekend listening to
all the leading labs talk about how to stop from AI destroying us all and
they're like it's defensive co-scaling defensive co-scale and I'm like that's
life like if you don't want your future circumstance to be too big for what
you're prepared for you have to defensively co-scale you have to
increase your time you have to increase your talents yeah to align with your
increased opportunities ideally yeah but if you have these huge opportunities you
know you get outsized fame without the preparation before the fame like
defensive co-scaling is kind of a genius thing to think about it's like you can
learn so much for how they're how they're how they're building AI yeah that
it's just a funny thing I was thinking about and you can almost right yeah
defensive co-scaling if you just kind of offensive co-scaling to defensive
co-scaling I want to get ready for a huge opportunity so I'm gonna skill
myself in very lethal ways the system is ready to handle hundreds of thousands of
people millions of people even when they're Stan yeah exactly yeah no that's
good we've talked about a lot of back to work yep God bless my friend see you
next time
