Hello, everyone. Welcome to When in Rome Eat as the Romans Do. We are here in the Forum, also known as our podcast studio. Name is Will Hoogendyk. I'm sitting here with the senate.
Will Hoogendyk:We're gonna go around the table, introduce each other and then the question of the day is what's one food you could eat every day? So we'll start here to my left.
Grant Stubbs:What's up guys? It is Grant Stubbs. I think one food that I could eat every single day I'm a big wing guy, so probably boneless wings. I know that's just chicken. Probably just the mild flavor.
Grant Stubbs:Nice and chill, so we'll throw it to my left.
Tristan Summers:What's up, guys? My name is Tristan Summers, and I'd say one food that I could not live without, I think, would be any form of potatoes.
Will Hoogendyk:Any form what's your favorite form of potato?
Tristan Summers:Oh. Like a twice baked potato.
Will Hoogendyk:What happens the second time?
Tristan Summers:It's a little crispy.
Will Hoogendyk:Okay.
Will Hoogendyk:And then to Tristan's left, have
Amelia Daniels:Hey, guys. I'm Amelia Daniels and I love a Chicago deep dish pizza. Mhmm. So good. From Giordano's in Chicago.
Will Hoogendyk:Wow. Very specific.
Grant Stubbs:Yes.
Kate Dempsey:Hi.
Kate Dempsey:I'm Kate Dempsey to the left of Amelia. I feel like I eat toast every day.
Amelia Daniels:What do you put on it?
Kate Dempsey:Mostly just like butter, you know.
Will Hoogendyk:Back here, it's the host. I would say probably breakfast sandwiches. I love making them when I'm at home. Don't get them as much here at school, but they're very good. Well, for those who don't know, When in Rome, Eat as the Romans do is podcast where we review review restaurants around Rome.
Will Hoogendyk:We're from Rome, Georgia. We're all students in Berry College. So for this episode, we have a couple different Mexican restaurants. Well, should I say Mexican places? One of them is sort of a restaurant.
Will Hoogendyk:So we have the taco truck on Martha Berry Highway, and then we also have La Mexicana Supermarket on Amelia, what road is that on?
Amelia Daniels:Turner McCall.
Will Hoogendyk:Turner?
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. Across from the Walmart.
Tristan Summers:Yeah. Walmart. Yeah.
Will Hoogendyk:So we got three tacos and rice and beans from each restaurant, we and tried them out, and then we also did some ratings. So we're just gonna go around the table, talk about what we liked, what we didn't like, and we're gonna start off with the taco truck. So anyone can hop in here, but our first category is taste and flavor. So a few questions to consider while we are talking about the food. Did the flavors work well?
Will Hoogendyk:What flavors were we tasting? And are the ingredients fresh? Full disclosure, we will not be eating on the podcast. We ate before this, did all of our ratings, wanted to save you guys all the ASMR. Who wants to take it away?
Grant Stubbs:I'll take it on over. I mean, I thought the steak was absolutely delicious. I've never even had any food from that specific taco truck before, but I've heard nothing but great things about it. So I will definitely be making another visit there to to get as many steak tacos as my wallet allows me to.
Will Hoogendyk:I like it.
Tristan Summers:Yeah. I'd say I'm in the same boat. I've passed I've passed that taco truck for about four years now at this point, and I've never actually gone there. So it was it was nice to actually go and try it.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. I totally agree. The steak was delicious. But did anyone get any cinnamon in their birria yet?
Amelia Daniels:Or was that
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I did. It was kinda like not sweet, but it did have like a little seasoning
Kate Dempsey:Cinnamon to it.
Amelia Daniels:Different than I was expecting. Not as spicy or typical Hispanic flavoring.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I agree. It was interesting.
Will Hoogendyk:I can't say I picked up on the cinnamon flavor, but I've also never tried birria before, so that was a new experience. But I enjoyed it. I gotta agree with Tristan and Grant though. Steak was definitely my favorite. And also for those who don't know, we got steak and chicken tacos at both restaurants.
Will Hoogendyk:And then at the taco truck, we got a birria taco, which, Amelia, can you explain what birria is real quick for those who do not know?
Amelia Daniels:Right. Birria is basically just beef that is marinated and, cooked in different seasonings, and then it's shredded. So it's like a shredded beef taco. It's really good.
Kate Dempsey:I bet that that's what the, like, cinnamon flavor came from.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. Usually, it's a little more spicy. And so it's different to have it more sweet, it was really good still.
Will Hoogendyk:And that brings us to our next category, which is pretty similar, but texture and doneness. So this is talking specifically about the food and, you know, was it properly cooked? What could have been different? What would you have liked to see, you know, whether whether it was more cinnamon, less cinnamon, what kind of things? Who wants to talk about the texture and doneness?
Tristan Summers:Yeah. I could start this one. Nothing was super cold, A lot of good flavor. And I know that some of us might agree, but the flour tortillas were better than the corn.
Will Hoogendyk:Yes.
Amelia Daniels:To surprise you, it was corn at both places, actually.
Tristan Summers:Oh, really? Okay. So
Will Hoogendyk:They gotcha.
Amelia Daniels:Like,
Tristan Summers:So
Amelia Daniels:But you like the tortillas at the taco truck better than it's
Amelia Daniels:worth saying.
Tristan Summers:Yes I I do.
Kate Dempsey:The birria taco shell was soggy. I don't know if that was true
Kate Dempsey:for y'all too.
Grant Stubbs:That's I I definitely tasted that
Kate Dempsey:Yeah.
Grant Stubbs:Too.
Kate Dempsey:But, otherwise, I thought it was great. Like, I thought the there's, like, fresh ingredients, like the onions and cilantro, I really like.
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. I thought the rice and beans were
Grant Stubbs:were really good too.
Amelia Daniels:I feel like I'm usually pretty picky with my meats, and I . Am not a big meat gal sometimes. But it was really good and really well cooked, so I feel like for someone who's more picky, it was really cooked.
Kate Dempsey:The steak was a little more it was chewier than the other restaurant, and then the the taco shell also kinda threw me off.
Tristan Summers:Yeah. Yeah. Coming from a food truck, I I thought it looked pretty good. Thought it looked well. It tasted well.
Tristan Summers:So
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. I agree. Alright. Well, now we'll move on to portion size, and then we can kinda combine this one with the price and value. What did you guys think of the value for all of our listeners?
Will Hoogendyk:The total cost was $11.12 and that was for a three taco and rice and beans meal. So I'm gonna show my hand a little bit here, but I thought it was pretty reasonably priced and it's worth saying that we split that one meal up between all five of us, so none of us got a whole taco. We kinda got little samplings of everything. So take the portion size with a little grain of salt. But what did you guys think?
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. I think if it was just me eating that, I probably would have been over full. Like, I would have Been stuffed. Like, I probably would have been content with just two tacos and
Amelia Daniels:Rice and beans, but I think it's definitely shareable between two people. And it was a good portion size, especially for the price. I feel like that's a really reasonable price.
Tristan Summers:Yeah. I'd I'd agree. I mean, they gave it to you in a big styrofoam box. I feel like that's a meal that I could go buy and eat, and I would be satisfied.
Kate Dempsey:I like how it came with two different sauces. And then, yeah, I just thought there was good variety. Like, it's a good amount for a really good price, honestly. Like, $2.45 for a taco.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. $2.45 per taco, I thought was really fair just because it ended up being the cheaper of the two. But we'll talk about the supermarket a little bit later. But I would definitely go there again and buy that same meal probably again. Yeah.
Will Hoogendyk:Grant, any thoughts to add?
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. Coming from a broke college student, I think that the pricing, definitely in my favor.
Will Hoogendyk:Alright. And then for our final section before we do kind of an overall review of the taco truck is originality and standout factor. And we were discussing a bit beforehand. I think we all had some similar thoughts, I'm interested to hear kind of us flesh those out a little bit more. But questions under this, we had what makes this restaurant or the food memorable, and what is unique about it?
Will Hoogendyk:So anyone feel free to take this away. But what did you guys think stood out about the food or the experience in general?
Amelia Daniels:Just being a student at Berry, everyone knows this as the taco truck. It is well known. And so I think it is just unique in that that, although there are other taco trucks in Rome, they're unique in just their prices and the food value that they have, and they're so friendly there. The lady that helped Will and I was really kind. So I feel like the food just being so fresh and so good for a food truck was just really good.
Grant Stubbs:I think it's, like like, stereotyped in a way. Like, food trucks are just disgusting or they're or they're not good. I feel like that's kind of the norm. Well, like Amelia was saying, like, I have heard a ton around here and people telling me that I need to go eat there. Like, it's it's a hidden gem.
Grant Stubbs:Like, it is a great spot. Workers are friendly. The food is fresh. And, obviously that was evident today. So really glad I got to to try it for the first time, and, like I said, I will be back.
Will Hoogendyk:This is will be my third year at Berry now, and I've heard a lot of people say, you gotta go try the taco truck. And, I mean, just at Berry, I even wrote down in my review the taco truck in quotes because oh, that's all you have to say. Like, no one I mean, we figured out the name of it is
Kate Dempsey:Taqueria El Diamante.
Will Hoogendyk:There we go.
Will Hoogendyk:But I didn't I still knew what it was even without knowing the name, I think that's pretty cool. And also, was just thinking about it. It's on the way to Cookout, is obviously a staple for a lot of us, so it's very visible in that sense. But for stand I mean, yeah, stand out. It's by a tire place, so it's just kind of tucked over right by a stoplight.
Will Hoogendyk:And that's I mean, no really no parking lot.
Tristan Summers:I did look at a picture of the menu, and the only thing I think holding this place back is their variety. It seems . Like there's not a whole lot, but I mean, I think what they do, they did do well. So I think it still stands out as a great place to go visit.
Kate Dempsey:I'd agree. I also think, like, they have, like, two tables there that, like, you could sit there, but it definitely is like a, oh, let's stop there and take it somewhere else, which the food was great for takeout in general.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. Well, interesting what you said segues actually nicely into what I put for my final rating is, yes, they do have a limited menu, especially considering the supermarket, which we'll get to just in a minute here. But I mean, part of it's just that being a a food truck. And, you know, it's gonna have a little a more limited menu and options in terms of what they can do. I think we'd all go back there again, and maybe we will after this episode.
Will Hoogendyk:Alright. So that wraps up the taco truck. We'll take a quick break, and then we'll be right back for La Mexicana Supermarket and here are reviews for that.
Will Hoogendyk:And welcome back to When in Rome Eat as the Romans Do. We're here for segment two and restaurant two.
Will Hoogendyk:Is La Mexicana Supermarket. And from here, we got three tacos. We got a steak, chicken, and Mexican sausage taco for $2.99 a piece. And the total was $13.33 and that included some rice and beans. So we'll hop right into it just like we did with the taco truck.
Will Hoogendyk:So our first section is taste and flavor. Again, similar thing to the flavors work well. What flavors did you guys taste? Were the ingredients fresh? Overall thoughts, take it away.
Tristan Summers:One thing that I first did notice what this was the steak was not as good as the taco truck which Feel like some of us might agree with that. And I mean, pretty much everything else I thought was better except for the steak and the tortilla as well, which they were both corn. They were.
Will Hoogendyk:We learned that Yeah. The taco truck did not have flour tortilla. Nope.
Grant Stubbs:I yeah. I definitely agree. I don't think the steak was as good, but I like you at Citrus. And I think everything else was was better. I really like the chicken though.
Grant Stubbs:Would I would go back and
Amelia Daniels:Agreed.
Grant Stubbs:And get some chicken tacos from there for sure.
Kate Dempsey:I agree. I was gonna I said that, like, the chicken was seared more, which really like came out in the flavor.
Grant Stubbs:Yeah.
Kate Dempsey:And I feel like the the La Mexicana, like, in general had kinda add ins of like the rice had peas and carrots in it, which added to it.
Tristan Summers:Yeah. To to go off that point, I feel like there was a lot more cilantro and lime made the tacos even better. Added to the seasoning.
Grant Stubbs:Yes.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. I think one thing we've learned from today is that Grant, Tristan, and I all agree on our steak preferences because I also thought the steak was better here than it was at the taco truck. I also really thought the Mexican sausage one was really good. That was the unique flavor we got for this restaurant. What did you guys think?
Will Hoogendyk:I guess compared to the unique flavor at the taco truck which is escaping me. What was it called, Amelia?
Amelia Daniels:Birria.
Will Hoogendyk:Birria. That's the one. So what did you guys think with comparing the two unique more unique flavors?
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. That was my first time ever having that type of meat, and so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. But it was really good. Just an interesting flavor, kind of spicy, not extremely spicy, just good.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. It was a really bright red when we opened it.
Amelia Daniels:Very bright.
Kate Dempsey:Really interesting. I thought it it was a, like, a new flavor that I had never had.
Kate Dempsey:Think I would definitely prefer to stick with like steak or chicken But I liked it.
Will Hoogendyk:Well, and typically also chorizo, I think more breakfast and like Mexican breakfast and breakfast burrito or something like that or as a substitute for bacon or or sausage even. But I gotta say, I have to disagree with you guys on the chicken. I actually liked the chicken more at the taco truck.
Kate Dempsey:Interesting.
Will Hoogendyk:I it was I wrote about this a little bit more in one of the other sections, but I thought the chicken was a little bit dry. Could have had to do with just the fact that we had it after we ordered it, but I thought the chicken was better at the taco truck.
Grant Stubbs:I will say I ended up trying this the salsa. Like, it had a crazy kick to it, but I love spicy stuff.
Grant Stubbs:So I was
Grant Stubbs:just throwing it on top of everything, and it was it was great.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. It appeared really well.
Will Hoogendyk:Well, I didn't feel like there was anything at the taco truck that was spicy. And I don't know. I mean, Grant, you said you like spice. I don't know how you guys feel about spice.
Will Hoogendyk:But, I mean, I feel like Mexican food, you would want to expect a little bit of spice in that. So were you guys disappointed by the taco truck not having that? Or did you really enjoy the supermarket food having that, Tristan?
Tristan Summers:Well, I would definitely say that the taco truck definitely did have salsa for us as well, and it had a green verde and a red salsa. I think I might have liked the taco truck salsa more than
Will Hoogendyk:Okay.
Tristan Summers:More than the restaurant inside the grocery store.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. I like the green salsa at the taco truck the most, think, than the supermarket salsa.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I think it would be interesting because the the spiciest thing at the food truck was the carrot.
Will Hoogendyk:Like Yes. I agree
Kate Dempsey:And nothing else is really spicy about it. And so I did like the salsa having a kick to it for the supermarket.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. I did too. I had salsa I had was one of the last things I had so I kinda was left with that from the supermarket which I liked.
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. If you don't like spicy stuff, don't eat a lot of it off the bat.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. Do it just start with a little bit.
Grant Stubbs:Start with a
Grant Stubbs:little bit.
Tristan Summers:You can see all the physical seeds in the sauce. So that's how that's how you do this.
Will Hoogendyk:That's true. That's true. That's a good sign.
Grant Stubbs:Your tongue will be on fire.
Will Hoogendyk:Yes.
Will Hoogendyk:For sure. Alright. Well, moving into the next section. Again, the texture and doneness, was the food properly cooked? What could have been different in your opinion?
Will Hoogendyk:Any thoughts on this?
Amelia Daniels:I think, again, coming from a picky meat eater, everything was cooked well, I would say. Nothing was extremely dry. Nothing was really concerningly moist.
Will Hoogendyk:Just concerning just concerningly red, probably.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. Yeah. That would be
Amelia Daniels:there. But, yeah, I would say the texture and dense was all good.
Tristan Summers:I feel like the only thing was the steak, which I'm not saying it was bad, but the taco truck did make it better. And for those of you who didn't actually get to see our chorizo taco, it was bright red.
Will Hoogendyk:We called it Taki meat. It was
Tristan Summers:We did.
Will Hoogendyk:It was
Will Hoogendyk:that red. Yeah. And we weren't joking.
Tristan Summers:It was good though.
Will Hoogendyk:It was good.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. I was surprised. I also was surprised that it wasn't with the color, I thought it was gonna be really spicy, but it it really wasn't. I mean Yeah. We mentioned that the salsa was super spicy.
Will Hoogendyk:But, Kate, what did you think when you first saw the the red Mexican sausage?
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I was surprised. Yeah. Truly. Like, I I genuinely thought that were saying, oh, yeah.
Kate Dempsey:They make it with Takis. So yeah.
Amelia Daniels:I do feel like the tacos were more full here at the supermarket. Like, I feel like there was a lot more meat in the tacos, which I think made the presentation look better because it was more full and more just in the box. But it was a little overwhelming when you just saw a bright red meat on your plate.
Will Hoogendyk:That is very true. Alright. Well, that leads us next to Amelia, good segue there into portion size. Would this meal satisfy you guys? Were you left wanting more?
Will Hoogendyk:Again, similar caveat to the taco truck. We did split up the three tacos, rice, and beans between all five of us. But if you felt like you had gotten that just for yourself, what would you say Tristan?
Tristan Summers:Oh, yeah. I mean, that would definitely fill me up more than the taco truck, but either way, I would definitely be satisfied. Probably a little too much.
Will Hoogendyk:Over over full like Amelia would be with the taco truck? Yeah. Exactly.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I feel like the tortillas were bigger. There was more meat inside of the tacos. And then the rice and beans came separately. And so there was like a whole smaller tray basically for the rice and beans.
Kate Dempsey:So it was a bigger meal.
Will Hoogendyk:Well, and I think that's something worth mentioning too is that we bought all the items a la carte. So each so the taco price for each one was $2.99, so about 50ยข more than the taco truck. And then the overall price was $13.33. So everything was bought a la carte where the taco truck had it all as a meal. So I think that's why there were probably some bigger portions there because people can pair those with different sides and different amounts of tacos like that.
Will Hoogendyk:But I I honestly thought the portion sizing was pretty good for what we got. Tristan, I might agree with you. I might be a little over full. I might even do two tacos and rice and beans, but, I mean, still really good. Grant, what do you think?
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. Like I had mentioned earlier about those chicken tacos that I was wanting to make sure I go back and try three of those and rice and beans, it would be good with me. After trying, I I would pay that amount for the the quantity of it. So
Tristan Summers:Yeah. It does seem like it was a good bang for your buck. Mhmm.
Amelia Daniels:Agreed.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. Well, and Grant, as you said about the taco truck, as a broke college student, I feel like anything within the 10 to $15 range that'll fill you up that much, we can all get behind for sure.
Grant Stubbs:Oh, definitely.
Will Hoogendyk:So
Grant Stubbs:A deep sense of appreciation there.
Will Hoogendyk:What did you guys felt like stood out to about this restaurant compared to the taco truck or even about the food?
Grant Stubbs:It did seem like it it was more food or even bigger tacos. Mhmm. But it makes sense, you know, it's it's it's a couple more dollars.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I'd have to agree. I think also knowing it's authentic, like the the owners are Mexican. You can go into the rush the restaurant or supermarket where you can get, like
Amelia Daniels:Traditional Mexican food.
Kate Dempsey:Which is really cool to me. I think it's definitely worth the price.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. And, Amelia, you and I went to both places and picked up the food. How would you say the atmosphere of the supermarket compared to the taco truck? Obviously, I know that's a little bit of apples and oranges, but can you talk about that?
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. I would say the people were still friendly at the supermarket, but I would say there was a language barrier. So if you go to the supermarket, be prepared for maybe a language barrier with you and the worker. It took a little bit more time for us to get our food, but I just think that speaks to the freshness of our food. But I would say the price and value and portion size is all really good for the place, and there's tons of tables at the supermarket for you to sit.
Amelia Daniels:And I think it's most known for you to sit and eat and less takeout compared to the taco truck.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. Well and Tristan too, again, like what Emilia is saying and what we talked about with the taco truck, a little bit more inexpensive at the taco truck, a bit faster time, a little bit longer time, more expensive at the restaurant. But that's just because they expect you to sit down at the restaurant versus taco truck. Yeah. They have a couple of picnic tables there, but you're mostly getting takeout there.
Tristan Summers:It's pretty cool to hear that you went into a grocery store and you ended up being in a restaurant as well. So I didn't personally go in there, but that sounds very unique to me. So it definitely stood out.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. And it's not just like a Walmart where it's like a stand alone store. Like, it's in an outlet mall . With the supermarket. And then inside the supermarket is this restaurant.
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. That's as unique as it gets.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah.
Grant Stubbs:Definitely. For sure. A standout factor.
Will Hoogendyk:Yeah. I would agree with you guys. And I mean, even more than the restaurant that was there and obviously the market, I mean, had some baked goods there. And I think they had a little dessert section too with pastries. And I feel like that's pretty common to find that with those international markets or smaller stores that it's kind of a you can walk in and get all you need for the whole week and walk out with a sweet treat too.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I think I would agree with y'all. I also have a friend that goes there and gets like fresh avocados. Have them year round. So yeah.
Kate Dempsey:Super cool. Like they have all the authentic.
Tristan Summers:As someone who loves guacamole, that is great to know.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. Go get you some.
Grant Stubbs:I mean, that's awesome. You can get your groceries, grab some some dinner all in one.
Will Hoogendyk:I know.
Will Hoogendyk:That's what I'm saying. You could spend a whole day there easily.
Grant Stubbs:Yeah. I wanna make a trip there. Maybe get together. In the mall. Let's do it.
Grant Stubbs:Is it a date?
Kate Dempsey:Stay tuned for next podcast.
Grant Stubbs:Next podcast. Yeah.
Will Hoogendyk:Alright. So for our final section, we will move into a final rating of the Mexican supermarket, but also just comparing the two of them kind of as a whole. Obviously, we've talked a little bit about some comparisons we've made, but just run back through our scores for both restaurants.
Will Hoogendyk:So first off, we'll do our final ratings of the Mexicana supermarket. So we'll start to my left Grant, and then we'll just go around the table.
Grant Stubbs:So I ended up giving it a 4.6, which was point one better than the taco truck.
Will Hoogendyk:Okay?
Tristan Summers:So my first one was a four for the taco truck, but I had to give the upper hand to the supermarket with a 4.5.
Amelia Daniels:Yeah. I said a four five for the taco truck, but now talking about it more and discussing it more, I would say that the supermarket is better. I think just listening and actually remembering more of the flavors and just the environment, it deserves maybe a four seven as Kate would say.
Tristan Summers:Would that make you want to bring your taco truck score down?
Amelia Daniels:I wouldn't say so.
Tristan Summers:Okay.
Amelia Daniels:I still love the taco truck.
Grant Stubbs:Shout out taco truck.
Kate Dempsey:Shout out. Yeah. I gave the taco truck a 4.7 and the supermarket a 4.2, actually.
Tristan Summers:Wow. Okay.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I think I I don't know. I think I just like the taco truck, and it's like a staple to Berry.
Amelia Daniels:Agreed.
Will Hoogendyk:I gave the taco truck a four and I was a little low with my supermarket rating. I actually gave it a three and a half. But I think, like Amelia, after talking about it a bit more, I would probably bump it up. Honestly, think I'd keep them pretty even, four and four. I think I would lean towards the taco truck though, just because I enjoyed the food more.
Will Hoogendyk:But I mean, of them were really really good. Do you guys have any kind of final thoughts or anything you didn't get out just talking about both the restaurants compared to one another or either one individually?
Grant Stubbs:For me personally, you took the steak from the taco truck, switched that out with the supermarket, money for me.
Will Hoogendyk:You wouldn't need to go to the taco truck?
Grant Stubbs:You just combine those together
Grant Stubbs:right there.
Will Hoogendyk:There you go.
Tristan Summers:I'm gonna have to second that opinion.
Amelia Daniels:I think really just the environment of the supermarket is one that every student should try and just go to. I think there's value in experiencing other cultures, and I think that's one that going to the supermarket, you really can, experience that and just get a taste of what other cultures are experiencing and just grow your knowledge in that.
Kate Dempsey:Yeah. I think it's really cool that both of these are classics to Rome. Like That is essential to know that we have these two awesome, like, Mexican restaurants in Rome that are unique in their own ways.
Kate Dempsey:So yeah.
Will Hoogendyk:To kinda sum it up, would agree with Tristan and Grant. I think, again, Taco Truck for me had the better food. But to what Amelia was saying, it's definitely worth going to La Mexicana Supermarket just for the atmosphere alone. And I mean, they both have very different atmospheres because one is you just walk up and order, and one you go inside and there's a lot more than you can do than just eating at a restaurant.
Will Hoogendyk:But definitely both worth visiting. I think we would all go back again and who knows, maybe we will. Two really good restaurants.
Grant Stubbs:Are you trying to
Grant Stubbs:tell me something there Will? Will's gonna be paying for my dinner tonight.
Kate Dempsey:Back at the Mexican supermarket?
Will Hoogendyk:I don't know.
Kate Dempsey:We'll see.
Grant Stubbs:When in Rome.
Will Hoogendyk:Alright. So that's a wrap on our Mexican episode after reviewing Taqueria El Diamanta food truck and La Mexicana supermarket. We'll see you next time.
