We got it this far. I'm Christy. And I'm her husband, Miguel. We've been married for twelve years and have two kids. And to say that we have changed during the past twelve years would be quite the understatement.

We were both church going Christians who started to ask questions. And even rethink the way we view politics and gotten a lot more progressive throughout the years. Although Miguel did vote for Trump in 2016. And we pack our whole family and we moved from Kentucky to the heart of New York City. Eight months ago, I started a social media account called Bless Her Blue Heart, where for the first time in my life, I speak up about my past faith and religious trauma, about the dangers of Christian nationalism and the Trump administration.

Guess that's what a lot of us are thinking. The best part is, though, I connect. I connect with the southern ladies who vote blue, with the mothers who want a better country for their children, with women who have lived their lives afraid to speak up like I was for so long. And that all brought us here to the Non Trad Podcast because although I'm technically a stay at home mom and we look somewhat traditional We look the hair. We're forging a lie for us and our kids where we don't have the guilt and rules and fear that living a traditional lifestyle can bring.
