What is The Meat Mafia Podcast?

The Meat Mafia Podcast is hosted by @MeatMafiaBrett and @MeatMafiaHarry.

We're two guys who walked away from the typical path to carve out something different. Based in Austin, we’re on a mission to figure out what it takes to live a fulfilled life in a world that often pushes us away from meaning.

We have conversations with people we believe can help us, diving deep into the pillars of health, wealth, and faith, as the cornerstones of our mission.

Whether it's challenging the modern food system, questioning conventional health advice, or building something from the ground up, we're here to explore the tough questions and share the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

If you're tired of the noise and ready to find meaning, tune in and join us!

[00:00:00] 2025 is going to be the year. Are you saying we're live? We're live. We're rolling. You're talking with a nice raspy molasses y. Oh yeah. That radio, what is it, uh, Chris Voss, when he's talking about the radio voice, the radio voice to negotiating. Yeah, when you negotiate to diffuse the person you're negotiating with, it's like a nice radio just slow.

FM Radio 98. 1. This is the Meat Mafia Podcast. This is the Meat Mafia Podcast. Alright, before we get started, um, if you're listening to this show and a long time listener, we are making 2025 the year of committing to full excellence with this show. We are going all in. We are making this show a pure, Embodiment of the passion that Brett and I have for what we're doing with this.

We'd also love that if you've been listening to the show for a while, if you could share this with a friend. Give it to somebody that you think will get value out of it. So they can, in part, share [00:01:00] what you love about this show. Um, I just, we've been working on this show for what? Three or two years. Yeah, just, just about three years.

Honestly, dude, February, 2022. We started, which is incredible. I mean, even the time that we're recording this, which is, uh, it's we're recording this on December 14th, 2024, but it'll be released as our first episode of 2025. This time, three years ago, uh, We had just left our first Austin experience together, which was like the three months of just shared energy and Just so much momentum that ultimately led into us starting everything that we're doing now.

So it's been uh, It's been an unbelievable ride dude Ran the Ironman Started run groups and just were down here. I don't know. There's like that feeling like we've just been like released from jail You and I were just out of the Northeast and excited to just [00:02:00] be in a new city and it was so much fun still is but I just I really think like being in a fresh spot is always there's always that like first day of college feel and Yeah, I just feel like the growth that we the trajectory that we've been on since then has been I mean, clearly life changing for the both of us in terms of like, you know, we have entirely different lives than we did back then for the better.

So, yeah. Yeah. And I think what you're saying too, around, um, just for whoever's listening, you know, if you're able to, to share the podcast, 86, I think it's close to 86 percent of podcasts are still spread by word of mouth. And you know, three years ago, this, this whole thing starting was just these, um, shared interest that we had that really felt just needed to be distilled to you all and I think as the show has progressed Going from just hardcore Nutrition and carnivory into what it is now.

I think what we're [00:03:00] Landing on is more so just this way of life and operating style and shared learnings that is really just an amalgamation of everything that we're really passionate about. And so it would just be so helpful to us if there's just anything that you find valuable, you know, just share it with a friend, a loved one, a family member, maybe a coworker, maybe someone you've been praying about that you think can need a little bit of extra juice or rocket fuel.

That's what that's ultimately what we're looking to do is just try and inject positivity and energy into the world. And, um. I think how for 2025 we just couldn't be more bullish about what's going to come this year. You dropped the b word bullish Um, dude, I couldn't agree more Yeah, I think I think for the listener too.

It'd be interesting just for us to talk for a sec on just the show in general like how do we Like how have we made this so that we can do this show? For as long as we've done it because I think it's like most podcasts stop after like five episodes or whatever and You I think our show in itself, we, we [00:04:00] haven't really focused on monetizing it in any way.

It's really been a vessel for us to get our thoughts, opinions out there, meet with really cool guests, and then really on the side, build two different businesses that are independent of each other that are, allow us to do the show. Um, but I think for people who listen to the show, you know, our, our intention is to, Make this as relational as possible.

We want our show to be, um, yeah, we, we want to know you guys. We want you guys to feel like you're a part of this journey with us as we grow this thing. Um, I think that's one thing, you know, looking back over the last two years, as we started working on noble, as we started working on what's now base brands media, which we could maybe talk about a little bit, um, you know, we've, we've let the show just, it's, it's so central to what we do on a week to week basis, but I think we've kind of.

Just been putting our energy elsewhere. And I think now we want to really come back to it and [00:05:00] revisit it at the place where it's at and really nurture this community in the way that we really owe it to our audience. Yeah. Yeah. I think when we started, um, Um, everything we're doing with the meat mafia, the show, a lot of the content we were creating on Twitter.

If you've seen our Twitter accounts, that's really how we all started was just piecing together just stories and these informational threads and many blogs around just really history of the food system and findings in learnings that. we found pointed back to why, you know, 70 percent of the population was overweight or obese.

And, um, that's really how we started was just creating content. And there wasn't much of a direction for what we were doing outside of the fact that it felt really good to just create something that was uniquely our own and just try and share value with you, the listener. And I think with our podcast, we've always viewed it as art and we've never It's, it's been a dance [00:06:00] in terms of how we've approached monetizing it.

Right. And something that's helped us a lot is we've been able to find these other bench business interests outside of the show that have allowed us to be able to just focus on the show purely for what it is. And obviously we have offered some sponsorships with incredible partners that we feel. Very value aligned with and maybe that will come back in the future, but I think our vision right now is to use this platform as a way for Harry and I to connect as friends, talk about topics between the two of us in regards to, you know, nutrition, fitness, health and wellness, faith, masculinity, the political landscape, just anything that This kind of burning on our heart and then also interview specialists and guests and people that we feel You need to learn more about too and just kind of pull out their genius and their perspective on excellence And so, you know as we continue to do that That's that's this is always going to be our art form the [00:07:00] thing that we love to do just for the sake of doing it And then we also have these businesses um, you know that are Little bit more forefront like a noble origins, which is our protein powder And then base brands media, which is our marketing agency that we've been working on for about two years Kind of in stealth mode and we're really excited to just more publicly talk about that Yeah, I think it would be big for us in 2025 to put Everything at the forefront.

We've kind of just been Piecing it all together. I think that there's been A lot of growth in you and I kind of just taking responsibility and we've, we've certainly I think bit off as much as we could possibly chew over the last three years. And now we really have people who have come into the fold and just like a small team of excellent people who are helping us with the show and with base brands and with Noble.

And feel like we're in the best place that we've, we've been in in terms of being able to like move everything forward at once. Um, I mean, I remember like this time last year, it felt like we were like [00:08:00] spending a bunch of plates, um, Totally. And there wasn't really that feeling of like a way out. Um, or like there was, there was really no end in sight.

And I don't mean that in like a negative way, but it was really like we just had to keep our heads down and keep going. Um, and I think now we, we really do see just like a path forward with this amazing supplement company that we're so passionate about, just the simplicity of what we've put together in terms of the product and the SKU, what it really is, the value that it conveys, how you can get all these amazing nutrients from the most nutrient dense.

Foods on the planet from the cow you get nose to tail nutrition beef protein isolate organs collagen colostrum All in one powder tastes great like that is something that we're so proud of and it stands on its own Super excited to just pour our hearts and souls into that this year But then also base brands media has kind of been, I think when we started the meat mafia, we had this vision of kind of being like the center spoke of this whole [00:09:00] and not, yeah, just, we wanted to be glue for a small, less than 1 percent little counterculture movement that was happening online.

That was, you know, Let's get back to real health. Let's talk about first principle health problems that people are avoiding and Just the big picture like let's let's really focus on what will actually get people healthier over the long term And um, we just wanted to bring people together around that and so we were like Just outsiders looking in at the start wanting to pull together all these resources like these farmers need to meet These brands so that these brands can source from these farmers and we're making all these connections like behind the scenes that I think has now turned into what we what we've really hoped it would be the whole time which is base brands media where we're able to Create value in a space where there's just amazing mission based products You [00:10:00] Out there that we love that we like would do anything for and be able to come in and provide them marketing services That will really help their brands grow in a world of you know, unhealthy foods and unhealthy products We just see this You know, I said less than 1 percent of the market, like this small little niche health space just growing so much over the next several years.

Hmm. I think you, I think you just nailed that. And I think something that both you and I are, are very passionate about to you, the listener is how do we just more honestly communicate? Just like the inner workings of everything that we're doing. And I think it's very difficult to sometimes follow a content creator or a podcast and really understand like, what, what is their true motive or like, how do they monetize or what do they incentivize to push me?

And I think, Both you and I, as we move forward into 2025, Harry, we just want to just kind of like pull back the curtain to our listeners. So they really understand because for [00:11:00] us, we've always struggled with how do we blend this like very altruistic passion that we're burning to talk about and educate with?

And then also be able to monetize that so that we can provide financially for ourselves and our families, too. And so obviously, sponsorships are amazing. There's whitelisted ad opportunities, but we've really loved this aspect of kind of creating these. Businesses that fall into the meat mafia ecosystem that we feel like the world really needs needs to exist So like you just said, you know the noble which is just a better for you nose to tail protein powder That's giving you access to nutrient density that A lot of protein powders unfortunately aren't and then base brands media, which we really feel is in a lot of ways are unique contribution to this based counter cultural economy of brands that have popped up over the last two to three years.

That was one of the things that. that you and I figured out is that we just kind of had this natural or cultivated [00:12:00] skillset to create an organic following on X and Instagram and the podcast and beyond in a lot of brands. Um, if they, they have the best product in the world, you might be a founder and might be an incredible product person.

I've created this incredible, you know, tallow olive oil based skincare company. But if you don't know how to cultivate that organic following, Or set up your email funnels or understand paid ads and realize that all of these things are supposed to work synergistically. It doesn't matter how good your product is.

So no, because no one's going to know about it. So that's really what we're trying to do at base brands media. We've built this unbelievable team of mission based marketers around us that. Truly have their heart in the right space and then they're also incredibly competent as well And our whole goal is like how do we get how do we find incredible brands?

have them work with base brands media and just pump them to the moon and really just support that that vision that we want to See that We're so bullish on with the election with RFK, with everything we're [00:13:00] taught, you know, this whole alternative health movement is at the precipice of becoming mainstream.

And that's what we're trying to do with base brands, medias. How do we make this overall movement? This crop of brands become as mainstream as well. And as well known as they deserve to be. I love it. I think a lot of it has fallen back to Bringing the right people into what we're doing as well. Like I just think about our team like so often and I just think about them so highly in such a high regard and like first off, just some of the best people you ever meet, humble, hardworking learners, like can basically plug into any social situation in Excel, just incredible people.

And then. I think what inspires me the most is kind of how we've gone about finding people to come into the fold for the things that we're working on like You know the people who are working on the podcast now are people who have just like reached out to us on instagram You know people who are a part of the [00:14:00] agency and we've really gotten to know them through twitter and through different avenues and Gotten to see them create content on their own and then come into the fold for us Um, and honestly like They've come into the fold of our, our lives fully, like our first intern for, for the summer.

Like, lived with us for three months. Yes. , you know, like, I don't think anyone really knows about, knows that. And I think that kind of, um, has been, uh, an amazing blessing for us, like truly taking the people element of how we're gonna. How we want to grow our, our businesses, the things that we're involved with.

Like we want really like family like relationships with the people that we bring into the fold and, um, Yeah, I think that the people that we have working for us are incredibly special. So yeah, I hope we can continue to build the team out that way where it's like, just, that's like a core business principle for me is like, you know, like Nolan, for instance, like he [00:15:00] was a part of our men's group on Tuesdays, would go to church with us on Sundays.

It's like, there's so much that's being built beyond this. You know, we're able to pour into him in ways that I hope, like, help him develop as a man and as a person. Um, yeah, so I just say all that to just kind of echo what you're saying around, you know, everything that we're doing, just trying to, um, Make it so that you know I feel I I feel really good.

You know when when i'm promoting things I truly believe in and um I think it's really hard for me personally to sell anything that I don't use believe in and um when I talk about base brands media or noble like I could talk about them all day because I truly care about Everyone who's working on the stuff behind the scenes are great people and then also just like, you know What we're doing I think is it's great work You Yeah, I think that, um, we talked a little bit, you talked about hiring and just some of the people that we've been fortunate enough to bring on.

And a lot [00:16:00] of those relationships have honestly been curated and cultivated on X formerly Twitter. And I think like heading into 2025, knowing that this podcast is going to be released early 2025, we're both. Unbelievably bullish on X in general, too. And I think that if you're not on X, this is your word of encouragement to get on there.

Establish some type of a personal brand on there. It's genuinely the best networking tool that's ever existed. And I think it's about to get so much better. Um, one of the things that people used to say to both Harry and myself is how do you got, how have you guys getting so many amazing guests when you were really small podcasts?

This is back in 2022. And even back then when it was still Twitter, you know, it's always just been an unbelievable networking platform because you're able to directly comment. On people's content in a way that they're far more likely to see it than I think a comment on Instagram or it just allows for much more direct interaction and I think [00:17:00] that people respond to their DMS and they're able to see their DMS much more effectively than a platform like Instagram to and I think you'd be surprised that.

Finding people that you admire or people that you want to connect with on X or even just like minded people in your in your cities It is it is probably the best place to find Like minded people that you can connect with that you can where it's 1 plus 1 equals 10 Yeah, so many of our best friends have come from X.

We've talked about this a lot before Ryan Griggs great example of that but if you're not on X, I think this is your word of encouragement to get on there too because You know, if the wealthiest man in the world who's truly trying to push humanity forward more than anyone owns X and is incredibly bullish on X, you see it with the election, it's just, this is your, I think this is your word of encouragement to, to just go all in on that platform.

I love it. I love it. That was, I think, early on for us too. This is just, uh, We were all in on one platform. We didn't do any Instagram stuff. We were like, let's just hammer X and [00:18:00] then the podcast. And that really worked for us. So I love that. All right. Winter arc has started. It's 70 degrees here in Austin.

So it's not really winter, but the winter arc has begun. We have 17 days left in the year. Uh, this episode will be released in the new year. How are we feeling? How are we feeling about 2025? I couldn't, I really mean this man, I don't know if I've ever felt more clarity and more optimism about a particular period ever.

And what's interesting is that you're going to, you the listener are going to be listening to this fresh in January. So you're probably going to be fired up. You're going to be ready to get in on the diet. Um, maybe join a new gym, take a new class, maybe think about a new job. It's the, that's, that's the beauty of new years of birthdays of these big.

Transitional periods is that it's very it's it's a it's a great time to Just start to look at the overall way that you've been approaching your life and maybe make some change [00:19:00] But these these the new year your birthday, whatever those are really arbitrary things Like you can kind of choose my whole point is like you can choose at any moment to change your life That's why I love what you said Even though at the time of recording this we're wrapping up 2024 the listeners right now is listening in early 2025 2025 Like you said, you, we, we right now have 17 days.

So by the time this podcast is released, there's no reason why we couldn't be, you know, significantly healthier. 17 days of eating super clean. Um, 17 days of trying to find new clients for the business. 17 more days of trying to find amazing guests. I wish people just understood that you, you genuinely could change almost every fiber about yourself in 17 days.

Oh, my gosh. 17 days is enough time to really like, I think momentum's everything when it comes to change like you, you'll probably go through a five day period where it feels like you're driving with a parking brake on potentially, you know, things are hard. And then as [00:20:00] soon as you feel that first burst of momentum that you've actually made progress and started to see something compound.

That like that's it you'll be you'll be hooked on Whatever it is that you're trying to build momentum in whether it's a business finances fitness Like family faith There's so many Things that you can focus on I do think that ultimately trying to focus down on one thing at a time is key but in 17 days If you just commit to one thing and hammer it Man, you can build up so much momentum so quickly.

You think about this from day one to day 17 If you made a list of rules of, you know, you're going to stick to a single ingredient real food diet, that's protein, animal protein dominant. You're going to go to the gym once a day. You're going to cold plunge once a day. You're going to read scripture or some piece of self help book before you touch your phone.

You're going to, you're going to work an hour a day on a side business, um, compliment a stranger, send a nice text or handwritten note to someone that [00:21:00] means something to you in your life. So what would you do or who would you be from day one to day 17, a different human being? You'd have a whole, uh, entirely different outlook on life.

Yeah. Yeah. I love it. I think everything, and we, we talk about this a lot, but everything ties back to nutrition. And we've recently been just like getting back into that steak mode. I feel like during the summer you and I were maybe just a little bit more, I don't know when it's hot out. I tend to like dial back a little bit on.

The amount of protein in, or the amount of fat that I'm taking in and probably have a little bit more like Fruits or like drink a little bit more raw milk Typically not as much steak I just like I feel like I went through a period where I just wasn't eating as much steak as I usually was But recently I've just been back on, on the track and, and hammering the stakes and I think some of that is just like seasonal.

Yes. Um, when it gets colder and, and uh, the sun isn't up as much, I feel like a true natural craving for red meat. Definitely. [00:22:00] You, you talk about this a lot too, um, more of an intuition thing, but a lot of people comment on the fact that. In the summertime with the your ability to just metabolize things through sunshine, um, you know, fruit sugars, honey, you can't get enough of that stuff.

And I think there's this, you talk about this, this correlation between the amount of sunshine you're getting and your ability to metabolize a lot of these sugars and carbohydrates and things in a way that you're not able to, when those things are not in season in the winter time. Um, I think we've both found a good split of.

eating more carbohydrates, more sugar, a little bit of less saturated fat in the summertime. And then in the winter, doing more of those fattier cuts of meats, ribeyes, chuck roasts, get out like the slow cooker, the Dutch oven and throw on some of those meats and bone broths and potatoes and things like that.

Um, I mean, it feels good too. It's like you've been ripping the In the summertime, you rip the grill, and now you're back to ripping the cast iron. Yeah. And you've gotten a couple of those Christensen [00:23:00] Ranch steaks, and they've been unbelievable, dude, with that corn finish. Dude, the, so Christensen Ranch, been around a hundred years, and um, they're, they just like, as soon as I saw the steaks, I was like, I know exactly how great this is gonna taste.

Like and then you know reading about it, too. It's like pasture raised corn finish So obviously the corn finishing is to add a little bit of fat to it So I knew that it was gonna be a fattier cut their ribeye. I Mean with the way that we seared that on the the cast iron and it had that crust Cooked to perfection medium rare like that was one of the best things I've ever eaten Spectacular.

Give me 14 of them right now. Give me 14 of those steaks right now. It tasted so good. And that's, that's another thing too. We get a lot of questions on this cause people will be like, Oh, you talk about, you know, grass finishing and regenerative meat and you've had all these guests and ranchers and, but then you're pro grain finished meat.

And I think what you and I have rested our heads on the [00:24:00] last year or so is that we care way more about, Knowing the rancher and the way that they're treating their cattle versus what they're finishing or not finishing their cattle on to. Yeah. And Christensen is a perfect example of like, just unbelievable quality of cattle.

They're raised out in the pasture, low stress, incredible lives. And then they're finishing them on corn. So, To give it a little bit more of that, like delicious fatty taste, which, you know, that's, that's my favorite type of steak, to be totally honest with you. So just, and then just having a chest freezer that's loaded with that stuff, it just keeps it so it keeps it so simple.

And then, you know, if you want to, if you want to rip the cast iron, you can rip the cast iron. If you want to throw it in the air fryer, you can throw it in the air fryer and just take the guessing game out of just going out to eat and being exposed to seed oils and processed stuff. For it's sake. You know for the winter i'm like, I just want to keep steaks like that just defrosting in the fridge And just cook two of those a day and train hard and yeah, man sauna cold plunge you dialed dude Put it on a little bed of [00:25:00] rice with some fermented onions kimchi little steak That is the perfect Perfect meal and i'm trying to do this thing where i'm not eating past like five o'clock six o'clock during the week um Just like I for whatever I think you and I have talked about this a little bit But like whenever I eat late, I just like wake up not feeling all that great.

Um, but if I You know eat kind of like midday almost like not omad one meal a day, but Um, really like have that eating window just shifted forward more Uh, I feel a lot better Um, yeah, I think 2025 is a great This is a great reminder. We've talked a lot about Intuition on the show and keeping a food journal and understanding what, you know, what, what certain foods sit really well with you or don't sit really well with you.

And I think this is just another form of encouragement that if you've ever felt like you've been on the fence with your fitness, your nutrition, like this is the perfect time to, when you're listening to this show to just like [00:26:00] choose to go all in for a certain period of time and develop that intuition.

So you can get to a point where you can be like, Hey, um, I have a scale in my room. And I realized that when I stop eating. Earlier in the night, I wake up lighter, I feel better, I have less bloating. Like just understanding these little things compounded that are actually really big things in the aggregate, um, that, that's so important.

But that's definitely something that I've noticed is that I'll eat a, I'll eat a meal that is healthy, but a little bit more dense at like eight o'clock at night. And I wake up heavier than if I ate that same meal earlier in the night too. Yeah. I think timing is pretty underrated. Just like when you eat is yeah, I think it's pretty underrated.

Yeah, and i've just tested it with myself and I know that For a fact I just feel way better once I you know, I have like two three hours to digest before I go to bed Yeah, um, dude, you were saying something that I think is so important to you know Just thinking about heading into 2025 I'm thinking back to a period of my life when I was living here.

You were in san diego [00:27:00] I bought a chest freezer Had that thing loaded up with steaks and it made my life so easy knowing that I could just flip that thing open, cook, you know, ground beef, steak, throw a chuck roast in the, the um, crock pot or the dutch oven, and just have a really simple meal. affordable because it was I bought it in bulk.

So it was like I think it was like eight or nine bucks a pound for a quarter cow Like pretty incredible for the amount of quality and nutrition that you're getting in that uh, and then just being able to cook that cook that food, um, and I love the idea of ordering in bulk Because you're making that commitment ahead of time that like i'm paying You know 400 bucks or more potentially actually more probably like 600 bucks to commit to Um eating this way.

Yeah, i'm gonna buy it in bulk and it'll be cheaper over [00:28:00] The course of those, you know, several weeks that you're eating that but I think it's just a great way to do it And um, you'd mention the the rancher we were talking about earlier, uh christiansen And they do have beef boxes and I just think it's such a simple way And and I think they do quarter cows too, but whether it's them or somebody else just such a Great way to commit to eating the right way Like buy in bulk It's lower cost and then you're just loaded up ready to commit to eating real whole foods And having meat be the centerpiece of that you're saying to just take the guessing game out of it and having Having financial skin in the game that's in alignment with where you want to go is actually an amazing thing invest in it Invest in it.

You have to invest in it. It's it's so it's really simple because all you have to do is for five days of clean eating, you just make a list of, you know, how much meat are you [00:29:00] consuming? What do you like to consume? What are those cuts? And then you can go on the website and you can. Put together a steak box that is perfectly in line with the amount of meat that you're going to be consuming on a weekly basis, a bi weekly basis, whatever.

And then you can order it. It'll show up to your front door and then you don't have to think about it. You throw, you know, you throw the steaks in, you let them defrost, you crank it in the air fryer for, for eight minutes, whatever in the cast iron and you have delicious gourmet meals that are ready to go.

So the whole point of what you're saying is that it's actually, it's very, very simple. You just have to know what you're doing and have that commitment. Yeah. A hundred percent. Yeah, I think there's something to just trying to simplify it as much as possible. And I think we've talked about this a lot, um, probably not too much recently, but we were, we've always talked about cooking your own meals, um, buying locally, you know, these are all things that I think will have such massive downstream effects for people's health.

Yeah. I think, um, The concept of consistency for 2025 gets me really [00:30:00] excited. And, um, you just, you had mentioned San Diego. And when I think about my, my time there, I think the word consistency really defines my experience where, you know, I was by myself. I had really bad cystic acne, which was a by product of me being on all these expensive biologic drugs, um, from having ulcerative colitis.

So I was eating a lot of the right foods, but I just had terrible cystic acne. On my face on my chest on my back and I didn't know what was wrong with it. And so, you know, I moved from the northeast to California and all I did for months was I got sunshine I got exposed into the ocean. I ate a strict animal based diet from local ranch perennial pastures and And then I became good friends with Jeremy from Van Man, and he has the, um, the bison, um, and the bison tallow based skincare product, Melissa skincare.

And so all I was doing was I was putting that skincare on two to three times a day, which I know sounds strange, but just [00:31:00] falling in love with that. That healing process and just sticking to those very consistent things And dude when you look at me from day one to the end of that experience I was a totally different person where I ended up, you know, not feeling great having cystic acne all over my face to feeling Like this radiant glowing skin that was a byproduct of staying consistent With the van man skin care with the animal based diet with those holistic things that just made me feel like the best version of myself too and I and i'm nostalgic about that did When you sent me, so, this was right around the time when we were starting to write a lot more online.

You sent me this thread about your before and after of kind of when you were really struggling with everything that was happening with your ulcerative colitis, to you just being on the other side living in San Diego, getting tons of sun, eating right, putting the right things on your skin. You were literally glowing you were glowing looked like a totally different person you're before and after I was shocked and I think people discount the importance of [00:32:00] just simplifying it all and getting back to the roots of what it means to be healthy the basics and I love that your experience out there was kind of your way like you've lived in the Northeast this this whole time It was really your way to like focus on You Your health, the things that have been giving you problems in your early twenties, getting away from drinking culture, booze culture, party culture, moving towards just being outside more, working your job, committed to that, um, committed to eating right, committing to, like, creating new relationships and friends out there.

I think there was just a big turning point for you out there, and it's cool to hear you talk about. Just the lifestyle that you had invested in and then just see like what it actually did for you in terms of you know that the next year or two has been just a product of you committing during that period.

Yeah, man, that, um, whenever I think about that period, there's like a, there's a smile that comes on my face and almost like a feeling of [00:33:00] warmth when I think about my time out there and that was just my, uh, Vote to just take the pendulum and just swing it in the complete opposite direction, which sometimes it just takes that.

That extremism in the sense of, Hey, I'm, I've been doing this most of my life and I'm going to choose to just kind of rip up the playbook, rip the cords out of the wall and just go somewhere completely different. That's foreign to what all of my friends have done and, um, just, just invest in myself for a certain period of time.

And I think everything we're doing now or everything I'm doing now is an extension of me deciding to make that decision. But it was fun, man. It's like. I think if you can get to a point where you can truly just fall in love with the process and fall in love with simplicity and simplicity almost becomes magical, you know, you're in a good spot.

Whereas just like just being able to wake up and go outside and, you know, get some beautiful sun and eat some delicious food and, you know, focus on healing my stomach and healing my skin and, and writing and recording podcasts with you and like the magic of the [00:34:00] dopamine hit of what, what it could have, everything could become.

Um, I really felt that when I was out there and. I think that since we've started the show, consistency has been a thing that's very, has been very hit or miss with me too. And I think we're both in this great place of momentum to really capitalize and consistency in 2025. And, um, it makes me really excited to think about what, what the end of the year could look like by capitalizing on that.

I love that. Did you ever text fan man and let him know how much you're His products actually helped you. I think I've shown him the before and after before. So you should text them. I mean, just the, uh, you had mentioned the, the gratitude just as part of that 17 day, you know, we have 17 days left and just writing a letter to somebody, it's like, When people have products that truly help you, it's like, I don't know, there's, there's something special to that.

Just letting them know. I know people who have reached out to us for Noble. It's been like the juice [00:35:00] that keeps us going. Yeah. He's such an amazing guy and has such a unique story to just taking that year to live out of a van and just reassess the direction of his life and was really one of the first people that, that, um, Doug into like that.

I think it was first like the eggshell toothbrush powder and that ended up progressing into, into incredible tallow based skincare products and bison skincare products and the amount of people that he's impacted is amazing. I think RFK even had his stuff listed on the website. Yeah, he was on the Maha website.

Really? But I remember early, you know, early days of van man of him posting. Revenue numbers on Shopify and I would screenshot it and send it to you because it was just so motivating to see someone that was just are all heart and soul all in into what he was doing truly just committed to making people healthier and Just this this based economy and these founders that just have balls and have put it all on the line for the right reasons I just don't I [00:36:00] just think it's the best time period to ever Be born because you you we have an ability where you can sit here with your phone And have shopify and be able to sell products that are in exactly alignment with your vision to a community off your phone, um Where 20 years ago 30 years ago?

You were pigeonholed into having to work a corporate job and a black sheep for being an entrepreneur It's just the best time period ever to truly um You Monetize your passion and to turn it into something that you want to be focused on dude I think I mean I feel you're speaking to a version of me like two three years ago where There are all these fears or just Doubts around kind of what's actually possible when you go all in on something And I think when you're starting something You're starting out on this path when you don't really know what it is that you're going to be working on but you you know, like [00:37:00] What i'm working on now is just not fulfilling me.

There's not Any part of me that's getting that feeling that i'm contributing towards something bigger than myself I know this isn't what God put me on this earth to do. I need to find something else to do. That's going to really pull out my gifts and allow me to do the things that I really believe are like in line with who I am and what I want to put out there.

And I think once you start making a W2, I've, I've heard, uh, um, Um, what's his name on shark tank? Mr. Wonderful. Mr. Wonderful talks about these like w 2 paycheck Is like the worst drug on the planet. It will keep you Just nice and cozy so you never take that risk But I feel like what you were talking about and when you were saying that I was just thinking about you know, two three years ago these just Fears that kind of kept me from going after the things that I felt like I could truly pursue and I think going into 2025 my message to people is that Those fears are all It's just a product of [00:38:00] the world impacting you.

And I think once you start, once you start making changes and once you start making the decisions to choose to live a different way, you'll realize that those fears are just nothing. They're really, on the other side of fear, it's, it's really something that was just an illusion in your head. And I think the more and more that you dig into, Overcoming those fears you really start to become the person that God designed you to be Um, you get called into a higher level of who you are the skills and talents that you've been given And I don't think that there's a better pursuit on the planet than overcoming fears Identifying them overcoming them and then allowing faith to fill the gap and knowing that there is something out there for you that will Give you provision and allow you to feed your family and do the things that you want to do.

It might take some time but you you Being trapped by fear is going to always um It's always going to [00:39:00] steer you in the wrong direction in my opinion. Amen Amen, I mean if you're listening to this podcast we're about to enter into four years of You know a trump economy that you know It is going to be highly favored if you're listening to this europe age where you can be doing something incredible No matter how young or old you are You're, you know, if you're listening to this, you're of some type of, you have some type of money making monetization capacity, you know, don't let those four years pass.

Like what, what a gift for you to, to be able to live in this exact period where we were on the precipice of not understanding what the future trajectory of this country was going to look like from a freedom perspective and like the country swung the pendulum in a massive direction. and pro local artisan and pro bringing back, um, you know, democracy and all of these principles of what ultimately has made this country amazing.

And, um, we're going to see a swing in a way that I think we've never, we've never seen a swing like this before. And so I think what you and I have been reminding [00:40:00] ourselves is, you know, We're, we're both early thirties, like let's, let's really maximize the next four years together because what a gift we've been given and what a, what a, what a shame it would be for the four years to pass without us, without us doing anything substantial with that gift.

Yeah. I think that two things came to mind is like, do not let fear, like do not let fear trap you. Do not let fear be the thing that stops you from doing what you want to do. Yeah. Yeah. And then also. Realize that, I mean, time is just, like, think about the end, like, 30, for us, like, 30, 40 years from now is really not that far away, and all the things that we want to accomplish and do and experience over that time period are really, really far away.

You know, they need to we need to start orienting ourselves around those things that we want today [00:41:00] if we want them um, you know if you want an amazing family if you want Um a large family kids a business like I think really orienting your your actions around that stuff today Like do it make it a priority to just live the life that you want in the future now like just I know there will probably be collateral for you making decisions that, you know, might feel risky and you might, um, put yourself in tough situations.

I think it's 100 percent worth it. I think putting yourself in tough situations is Where you grow, you know, so, um, I just get excited thinking about the person sitting on the other side of this going into 2025. Who's thinking, you know, I got more to give. I have more to give. I haven't been doing that. And, um, I want to see a different side of myself because like I enter, I know the new year stuff is kind of always cliche.

New year. New me. I enter every new year with, uh, [00:42:00] Just that feeling of freshness. I just, I know, I think you probably feel the same way. It's like, let's go, we've got another year coming around the block and let's see what we can get done in this year. And, um, yeah, what excites me about the upcoming year is just knowing what we've learned over the last two or three years, kind of these last two or three years being the biggest experiment of our lives, I think, like, would you agree with that?

A hundred percent. It's like, and realizing that the experiments kind of. As soon as you commit to it, as soon as you choose that this is the life you want, there's just um, you know, so much growth on the other side of that and you start to really develop yourself in a way that I think is the way God designed you.

I personally feel that, like, there's just parts of me that were Um, we're not fully, um, being exposed to the world in the environment that I was working in before. And now it's like, okay, you can't, um, you can't sell yourself for you. You truly, if you, if you want to [00:43:00] find success and stability and have people around you who are also, um, capable and competent, like you need to really like build into every area of your life.

Yeah. Yeah. You, you had mentioned that word. Uh, Yeah. This fresh start of 2025 or the fresh start of a new year being a cliche and cliches are cliches because they're true. That's really what it comes down to. And so. Um, new years, um, big transformational periods. It, it, it really is an incredible way to just honestly reflect on the current culmination of decisions that you've made up until this exact point in your life.

And I think you've heard us talk about this before, but there, there truly is no reason why you, the listener, shouldn't. That is currently tuning into this podcast, why you can't choose today to make a list of the bad habits that you've been doing up until this point and consciously rip them out and replace them with the things that you ultimately [00:44:00] want to be doing.

Part of the reason why we talk about this is that the, the further Harry and I have gotten into this. There's no reason why we couldn't have started the show three years earlier. Noble could have been a thing five plus years ago. There was nothing that we didn't know then, but we didn't know now. The only bottleneck was that we both had imposter syndrome in fear and doubt and insecurity around our ability to build something from scratch.

But truly, when we first started building, Our new friendship, you know, around 2020, 2019, there was really nothing there. There wasn't that much more about nutrition that we knew in 2022. When we launched the show, like we had all the characteristics and all the attributes. It was just being young guys that were being a little bit overwhelmed by fear.

And that's why we talk so much about this, because I know that if you're listening, I could pretty much guarantee you have some type of dream or some type of vision that God has put on your heart and into your soul that you, for whatever reason, these chains have held you back from doing it. And we just don't want you to leave [00:45:00] 2025 without taking steps towards that vision.

What a, what a shame that would be because if you're listening to this, you truly have all the potential in the world. He's, God's made you, he's, he's, Uniquely designed you to be greater than you can possibly imagine and his dreams for you are truly so much bigger than your own and that's that's really what it comes down to.

Yeah, I'm thinking a lot about just this year. You said bullish. I think this is the year of turning pro. Take whatever you're doing. Look at it through an objective lens Where are you who and I think I'm more so speaking to ourselves. Like where are we operating in a space where? It maybe it's a bit amateur like where do we need to actually dial this thing in and turn pro and build in the areas?

so that Everything that you touch everything that you do is dialed in like a pro athlete would be dialed in for a game You know like there's just a system and processes that you need to go through If you want to be an olympic athlete like you need to operate at that level every single day [00:46:00] And I said I sent you we were working out in the gym the other day and I sent you Just a link to this thing that I was listening to this.

It's like just motivational playlist. This is classic and uh It just talks about raising your standards and i'm like, yeah I just, I don't think there's, there's a better framework to look about, like look, look through then if you want your relationships to improve, if you want your view of yourself to improve, if you want your businesses to improve, finances to improve, raise your standards, raise your expectations for what you want.

Yes. Yeah, so by raising your standards, you're, you're consciously making a choice to. not accept the currently current reality that you're in. Um, and once you choose to not accept that, then you can actually start to take the necessary actions to ultimately create that reality that you do want. Um, And my goal for us and myself is to [00:47:00] just really just like fall in love with those 1 percent improvements and take the pressure off and understand that, you know, if you're, if you're trying to go zero to one and something, it's going to be really, really difficult.

Um, you know, your default tendency to to might be. You might not be able to see yourself the way that your friends or the outside world sees you and You just continue to beat the crap out of yourself because you're not that finished product But if you can just focus on you know, hey, man, I I went to the gym three times last week I went to the gym six times this week You know, I, I only did 15 minutes of podcast prep, uh, for an episode last week.

I did 45 this week, like just these, these iterations, the, these, these constant improvements and you compound that over a year, you're, you're going to end up being a different person. Um, but I think it starts with that, that accept that on the, Deciding to not accept your current reality and then understand what what are the things I need to be doing to Create that world that I [00:48:00] ultimately want for myself and also pairing that with you know I don't think that anything financial or material is ultimately gonna fulfill you like be great but be great because God is calling you To be great Dang That was good That was I mean, I hope it doesn't sound I hope it doesn't sound cliche, but no it didn't at all I think that what you're saying is just like so spot on and I think the idea that I think we've both been in that situation where we've seen a friend who You know, they have more potential than they're currently giving out and you see the things they're stumbling on And everyone in the room can identify the stumbling block And then there's also that built up sense of like, I'm not where I want to be, um, which I think is literally, it might be the worst feeling in the world.

Um, feeling that, like worst and best. Um, cause I think it's incredibly motivating. Um, [00:49:00] but I think wrestling with that feeling of like, I'm not where I want to be As a guy, you know, this is like probably resonates with guys who are late 20s mid 20s late 20s You know realizing that you know time's ticking And maybe they haven't made the right decisions up until that point like What you just said about the one percent incremental gains you you if you just if you committed to those one percent incremental gains for in any area of life We've talked about this a bunch but You will see the results Totally, you know, I think that um to your point if you focus on Living out days where you are juicing the lemon out of every single day where you're like really stacking the deck with doing the right things.

And it might not be present. Yeah. You might, you might go on your, you might do a bunch of great work and meditate and cold plunge and prayer and do your scripture reading and crank sales calls. And you know, maybe, [00:50:00] maybe you stumble where you have a crappy meal or you go on your phone for 45 minutes. But at the end of the day, like that overall day is like just pushing right in the right direction.

Yeah. I don't, I find that for me that if I chase those good days, I don't worry about, um, the, the, the pressure of not being where I want to be, that starts to dissipate and that goes away. And that's what's amazing is that by just focusing on you just having those incredible days where you're squeezing the lemon, whatever that means to you, if you focus on, you know, Being process oriented towards that and you know, that's gonna make you feel good Then you're not gonna focus on the end result But then in a strange way the scoreboard is also gonna the scoreboard will I think reflect positively Yeah, has your perspective shifted on any of this since you got engaged?

And by the way, everyone who's listening Brett got engaged So got engaged got it done. Clap it up. Thank you. Love it up. Love you, buddy. Appreciate you Yeah, I mean, I think that um You It's such a good question, man. I think that, number one, [00:51:00] I think having a woman that you love more than anything and just that support from like a pure hearted woman like that as a man.

It's just the surge of just genuine confidence and appreciation and gratefulness. It really is tough to put words into and you know, leading up to the engagement, I almost felt like the devil was hitting me hard for like two weeks before. And I had a couple of Christian mentors that said, don't be surprised if you get hit with some, some demons, because when you guys get engaged, the angels are going to be singing and the devil, you know, these demons are going to be crying because of what, uh, you know, a Christian, you know, what that union means, the good that you're going to go out to be able to do in the world as a couple.

And, um, yeah. I was feeling just more so just doubts and insecurities about myself and the direction of my life and just things that rationally made no sense at all. I was just, you know, just [00:52:00] choosing for whatever reason, I was just being really, really hard on myself and just doubting the trajectory of my life.

And then from, I decided, I had a buddy that told me that you have, you know, you have lifeblood pulsing through your veins and you are not, you are not designed to give into that feeling of fear and like focus on, you know, the love that you have for Dana and you know, how excited you are to take that next step and everything else will take care of itself.

And after that day, there's just been this calmness and just kind of crispness and just, just clarity around what you and I need to do. And, um, I don't know, just this, this more so just being ha having more supernatural awareness of how special everything you and I are working on is, and just this trust of like, whatever I need to do to make ends meet for me and Dana.

Like I, I have no doubt myself now that like, yeah, just, just the way I'm starting to make decisions is just different. Mm-hmm . You and I have talked [00:53:00] about, I've, something I've learned from you is operating, make decisions. Um, as if your future family already exists, even if they're not born or material yet.

And that it's kind of just that feeling on steroids of just, just this confidence of like whatever I need to do to provide for her and provide for our family. You know, there's no doubt that that's that that's gonna happen and just excitement for the future, too Yeah, I love that. Do you have any time to reflect on that when you were out at trips race?

Cuz you you do you've like crude to insane races For the last two months. So yeah, you did the run across Texas and then our buddy trip who has an amazing podcast ain't dead yet You were out with him running helping him finish his hundred mile race, which was The you know, he's doing 16 mile loops in the middle of the night, which is crazy smashed it Yeah, any any kind of time to think they're just kind of what you where your life's heading what you want the next year Yeah, it's a such a good question, man [00:54:00] I'm definitely just in a phase of simplification where You know you and I have been doing this for three years.

We've been roommates. We've been business partners. We've been best friends. And I really feel the seasonality of the next phase, the next chapter of what we're doing where, you know, we're always going to be working together. We're always going to be close. Our friendship is always going to progress into these new depths and new heights.

But this chapter of us, like of everything being combined is very finite, right? We're kind of in the last season of that right now. And so I just really want to have supernatural awareness and just taking advantage of the days and the weeks that we do have together and just like bookend that, like, just close the chapter on that as great as we possibly can.

And really just like, you know, [00:55:00] dedicate the best version of myself to you as a business partner and just really like, just accomplish everything that we want to accomplish and just serve our audience as good as possible. And I just trust that if those things happen, um, in a godly way. Whatever we want will you know, whatever God wants for us will will happen.

Hmm. I'm just trying to like lower I I know it's where it's like do better work and lower my expectations at the same time. Mm hmm. Yeah Yeah, I like that. I think the idea of doing better work is so important like it's a simplification process but then it's also It's like pressing into excellence in little ways, which I think I can probably fall into the category of wanting to do too much or, you know, blue sky thinking, which is a good thing, like vision and seeing how it all comes together, like loving that side of things.

And then you kind of miss out on some, some like my new pursuits of [00:56:00] excellent in the course of a day. And I think for me where I'm falling back to on 2025 is just like. Really, like, from the time my eyes open, and I turn out of bed, my feet hit the ground, chasing excellence in, like, every sequence of, like, when my alarm rings, get out of bed.

Like, don't hit snooze. I'm not much of a snooze guy, but, like, you know, I think that's a big hurdle for people to get over. Um, uh. Turn out of bed, feet hit the ground, get into my routine, whether it's like, you know, going and spending time in the Word. Spending time with the Lord, going to the gym, getting out for a walk, getting some time journaling, um, getting some time just like catching up with you, or just like getting started with some work, like, I think, I just want that excellence to just seep into everything, and [00:57:00] I don't know, it's taken me like 30 years, not, I mean, less than that for working time, but like, it's taken me, You know, since I've started working, so like 10 years, to figure out, like, what is it about my schedule, like, how can I make my schedule perfect for me, because I, I just know that I, I just have certain ways of operating where, um, You know, if I can break things up, I'm just much more effective, um, if I can almost split up the day so I have like three or four days within the day, yeah, I can just be so much more effective.

Um, and if I think through that lens, as opposed to like just being one long day, um, I feel like I get a lot more done. Yeah. It's almost more so for you just like making a list of. if I did these things by the time I go to bed, like what, what would that, what does that list have to be for me to feel really happy and really satisfied with that day and push all these different buckets [00:58:00] forward?

Like, I think a really important fear phase of your life was when you were living with our friend Bennett in Boston and you lost a bunch of weight, you were doing a lot of walking, you were going like paleo animal based ordering from these farms And just had like this dialed in morning routine and you, you know, you really leveled up and laid that base layer, which was the culmination right before of us doing the iron man that led to us launching the meat mafia podcast.

So it's like, I think you've had these amazing seasons of life and I get the sense from you that you're really just ready to combine everything in, in 2025 and like, what does that, what does that mean for Harry? Like, I don't think the best version of Harry is replicating this Hormosy. Type like masochism towards the way that you work.

Um, I think it's just, you know, I think it's combining all these these incredible things that you love to do And doing it in a very purposeful way that you know, you're just creating great work and great art every single day. Yeah [00:59:00] Yeah, I think I think the words do you ever do like a word of the year or word for the year type thing?

I know you like it. I don't I haven't but I I'm very interested to start for 2025. Yeah A few have popped in my head One was stewardship, just being a good steward of my own, like, the resources that God has given me. And then, two, excellence. I think that excellence is definitely on top of my mind. I feel like there's so many times when I've been on the brink of doing something excellent, whether it's like, You know, thinking back to even baseball or, you know, school or jujitsu or, you know, stuff that we're doing, the meat mafia podcasts, stuff we're doing with noble.

It's like all these different areas that I feel like excellence has just, you know, It's been very close and I, and I, I want that feeling of like being in that operating zone, like knowing that we're [01:00:00] just putting the best work that we can possibly put out there. Yeah. Um, so just having that standard for us, um, like a high standard of excellence and then try to think there was another word out there.

I think just like focus and concentration for me has always been, been one, like just having that be, um, like a centerpiece of this year as well. Yeah, I think discipline and obedience for you is, is going to be big because I think you've been in this very obedient phase of doing things that, and really listening and being in close communion with God.

And I think coupling that with discipline, like discipline to achieve that excellent outcome and blending all those things together, it's going to be really cool to see what that culmination of things looks like for you. Yeah, i'm excited. It's gonna be a good year bro. Yeah, I want to think more about I don't have a word yet, but Hopefully by our next episode I will but i'm gonna think more about that.

But I love it I just love [01:01:00] that. I just think what's so cool is just you know, the time capsules that yeah that we're creating and um Again, it's like I just think we both really hope that You know you out there the listener that's listening to this like just just freaking like just get everything you want out of this year Yeah, it's really it's truly possible.

Just like Commit to it. Yeah, like learn what it means to commit That is a probably a lifelong pursuit but fully committing to something and not looking back is truly the like if you're following the truth A full commitment will lead to a life full of prosperity. Yes, you will have struggles you have obstacles but you will you'll be able to do things in a way that other people can't because you've Gone that extra degree in your mind before you've even stepped foot forward, you know, how far you're willing to go I mean you'll be tested but I think that just committing And making that choice, you know [01:02:00] Whether it's the business, the relationship, the finances, whatever it is.

And you know, I think you and I have our own version of this, but just commit. Go all in. This is the year 2025. Let's have a great year. I love it. Appreciate it. Thank God. God bless, buddy.
