[00:00:00] Hello, and welcome to Plan C, Tabletop Gaming Center's Pirate Dungeons and Dragons adventure. My name is Chris Boyd, he/him. I am your dungeon master this evening, joined by our wonderful crew. Uh, hello, my name is Kyle, he/him. I'm playing Tingus Pingus, also he/him. And just remember, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Wayne Gretzky, Michael Scott, me. Hi, everybody. I'm Heather, she/they pronouns. I play Thora Faust. Um, Gong Xi Hao. It is the Chinese New Year, so, uh, wishing everybody a Happy New Year Hi, I'm Maeve, she/they, and I play Riven, she/her. And did you know that white tip sharks actually hunt in packs? So if you are swimming in the ocean and you see one white tip shark, you'll probably see another one.
But don't worry, they just eat reef, um, reef creatures, so you're all good. They just eat reef. Just eat reef. Yeah. Hi, I'm [00:01:00] Cameron, pronouns he/him. I'm playing Aldrin, pronouns also he/him. And if your cat is watching, my fictional cat, Saja, wants to be their friend. And tell your cat I say psst, psst, psst, psst, psst.
So last we were with our crew, they were visiting the island that produces the rum for the Pirate Republic, purchased by some cleric wizard of some sorts. Though they were behind on their deliveries and slightly short. Plus, if you're gonna have a coronation for a new pirate king, you better make sure that's up to snuff.
Gotta have the rum. So while making a pit stop, you notice some commotion outside this wizard's tower, and see a swarm of picketing zombies [00:02:00] who are unionizing of sorts. You go to meet with them, and eventually meet with their big version, and eventually their in charge version, who informs you of the full situation.
Most of the zombies don't know what's going on, forced to work for this secret necromancer to produce rum he can sell to keep his operation going. And as this necromancer, Tim, experiments with intelligence, some of the success stories would like to leave. And with your help, now that you have offered and sided with the zombies, maybe put a stop to what Tim is doing So [00:03:00] we join you all on this beach discussing these plans with the zombie pirate captain, uh, Peter Rabbit.
I thought we were being taken back- ... already. Uh, you're on your journey. Okay. We're, we're talking and walking. Yes. We're walking and talking. If you would like to, I don't know, plan anything. I guess you don't have to. We could fast-forward to that scene. When, when have plans ever worked out for this crew?
Wait, wait, guys, guys. Name me one plan that's ever worked out for this crew. Guys. Plan C. I didn't even tell you about that stinking room upstairs. Oh. So I mean- Oh, yeah, where that big boom happened? Yeah, that was weird. I don't understand why the door did that. Oh, right. The door did that? Yeah. I opened the door with my little pick, and it just all of a sudden shocked me like 1,000 suns and I went flying.
There was a ward on it. What's a ward? It's magic. Magic. For rooms you should go in. But it's a door, it can't have... [00:04:00] Oh. It's a door. You put magic on the door. Yeah, 'cause, 'cause you know how my basketball is magic? You can, you can make anything magic. But like, I didn't know that you couldn't, like, go inside because of magic.
Like, it would k- hurt someone. Yes, if people really don't want you to read their diaries, you put wards on the doors. So you think that's what's behind the door is a diary? Probably, or- Ooh, it'd be crazy ... a grimoire. I'm pretty sure it might have something to do with them. Uh-huh. 'Cause he didn't want us in there, right?
Yes. Exactly. He likely has many secrets. Once we- he's taken care of, then we can look into it. Wait, can we go inside? Once he's taken care of, then we can look into it. I think you already answered that question. But this, River didn't get to go in and, like, really look around. We should go look around in there.
Okay. Okay, but... You know what? It's not my job. See? It's not my job. This is what I was talking about. I'm just- It's so much fun ... here to supervise. We're gonna go find secrets. That's my specialty.[00:05:00]
Do we intend to plan how we're going to take care of a necromancer of unquantified power, or are we just going to, you know, walk in and- Why don't we just stab him? Isn't he, like, in Tybalt's like- I mean, if he bleeds, we can kill him. Like, that's... 'Cause, like, isn't he, like, under our control? As a zombie on
a meander next to you. Ah. Like, he doesn't know we're, like, against him. Riven, how have you survived this long? With sheer luck. I believe it. Well, at least she's aware of it. Hey So when we get back, uh, dealing with Tim, um- Hello, Tim ... obviously he needs to pay for his crimes against humanity. Just like, yes, uh, humanity.
Um, so I mean, I don't feel like we should just [00:06:00] lock him up and then take him to a court martial or something. I mean, we could just kill him. I mean, technically he's under- Oh wait, is that offensive to our new friends? Like, are you cool that we kill- killed Tim potentially? They've made it rather clear. Yes.
Yeah, they're all cool with it. Great. Love that. Okay. Just wanted to make sure. Isn't he, like, under our jurisdiction since we're now under the captain, and he was, like, employed- No, he kind of was- ... by the- ... it, it was like a mutual agreement. It wasn't like a, a, a, like, hierarchical power- Just because you buy apples from someone doesn't mean you're allowed to kill them.
Just because we buy rum from him doesn't mean- Yeah ... we're allowed to kill him. But if they're not fulfilling the deal, isn't that also a reason to kill them? Isn't that, like, what we're- Generally not a killable offense, but, uh, you know, raising people- But, like, several ti- ... from the dead in a ma- So wait. So wait.
Are you more focused on the fact that- So wait. Okay. No, no, no. I think I got it. I think it- I think, uh, ultimately- So because he raised people from the dead- Mm-hmm ... we can kill him. Like- I mean, no Or a metaphorical one ... it's a metaphorical one. Okay. We need to stop using metaphors when we're explaining things to her. I don't know how to do anything else though. Ooh, that would make things a bit easier. Unlikely. He said he was going to, but possible. I think Tybalt doesn't like him 'cause of the undead stuff. I mean- That's why we all don't like him- ... we don't kind of like him because of that ... because of the undead stuff. Oh, I don't like him 'cause of his face. That's one way to do it.
Um, so we can maybe give it to our, our zombie friends, but then again, they... Well, maybe let our, our new, our new friends do the first, I don't know, hits on him or yeah, let them have first shots, and then we s- give them backup, kind of like they did, uh, with the, the, the, the f- the fight, [00:09:00] uh, we just had. With Big.
With Big. Y- Riven, yes, you don't need to really raise your hand. Okay. Um, so I have a question. You said m- he has magic to ward things. Ward's a word, right? Yes. Yes. So w- won't he also have magic to hurt us? Yes. Yes. Possibly. Yes. And he seems pretty powerful 'cause he, you know, brought a lot of people from the...
So should we be- That's probably over time ... worried about that? Well, if we can, I don't know, maybe cut out his tongue, he wouldn't be able to speak, thus not cast spells. I don't need my tongue to cast my spells. Are you sure about that? I don't know. Okay. Yeah. We'll test that out later. Most of the time with casters, they need to be able to speak and- Say something?
And make some funny- Or move their hands Okay ... and sometimes they need material, so okay, great. We cut out his tongue. We steal any, uh, pouches off of him. Basically, I don't know, make him... I don't really wanna say stripped- I, I, I- ... 'cause I don't want to see that. [00:10:00] Um- That'd be dumb ... and then tie his hands up. He can't do anything there.
Okay. Okay. I'm, I'm just gonna say this, though. If you're getting close enough to cut out his tongue, why don't you just cut his throat? Yeah, at that point, uh, cut out his tongue- You're, you're halfway there ... cut out his throat. Uh, isn't it, like, the balance? Didn't we, like, talk about that at the, the, the thing where, like, the balance of life- Mm-hmm
and the- Okay, but we were already- What was the answer to my riddle again? We were already... The intent. The intent. And his intent was bad, 'cause he's intending to do bad things to these people who are undead and, you know, not letting them have free will. So- All right ... we should- Let's just get in there, see how the entire situation's at hand, and then from there, we kill him.
I mean, yeah. Well- Okay. L- l- just, let's do that. Riven- Riven, do you have any magical methods of restraint or anything like that? I think so. Because that might be a good way to prevent him from casting spells. I have something that, like, can entangle him, but- It's worth a shot. [00:11:00] Okay. Uh, so you just, as soon as we get in there, entangle.
Is that what you want me to do? Well- No? Not immediately. Okay. Oh. We just need to get back. We need to assess the situation. I mean, he could be doing something to the captain- Because he doesn't know that, like- He could be doing something to Tybble. They both could be dead. Who knows? Let's hope. I mean, sorry.

What did I miss? Are we at the door yet? Oldren is actively stifling a laugh. You, uh- Join the party ... Captain Peter, and a horde of- Love them ... zombies- Yep ... are with you. They're good. Um, Captain Peter is intentionally leaving, uh, most of the other zombies that wanted to leave kind of out of this fray for the time being.
Makes sense. But [00:12:00] his intention is to go with you. Perfect. Perfect. Um, great. Um, yeah, we continue to game plan, um, till we get to the point of the doorway back on in. So you're at the... There is a doorway at the bottom- Yeah ... of the tower. Kinda how we- That you can then- Yeah, how we got out ... ascend up to the ground level.
Yeah. Um, are you taking the zombies, are they going up with you first? I think that we should walk in first Yeah. And like they're- Yeah, back up behind you On our... Yeah, I feel like we should go in first. Yeah. Especially because he doesn't know that they're on our side. We could've just convinced- Should we like have a, have a signal?
Wait, wait, I feel like people believe me very well. Right, guys? Absolutely. Okay. So [00:13:00] what if I go in and I do the talking. I know you guys don't like when I talk sometimes, but I swear I'm gonna be good, and we tell him that we got them to work for him, and like bleed his guard down a little bit more, and then we kill him

Uh, so the zombies and Captain, uh, uh, Peter are going to be a couple steps, uh, down a staircase- Okay
so that their, you know, heads are out of sight. Mm-hmm. Uh, but all of you can be on the landing- Yeah ... um, at the door to the ground level. You can see if, uh, if you, uh, as you open the door that both Tim, uh, your captain, and Tibault are all still in the room. They're all currently standing in the far corner- Mm-hmm
um, having some conversation. Um, it looks non-confrontational for the most part- Okay ... at first glance. Okay. Uh, I'm [00:15:00] gonna run up to them and be like, "Oh my gosh, we did it. We did it." Oh, uh, a- and, um, Tim is incredibly excited, like, "Oh, how, what, uh, h- how? What did you do?" Well, we convinced them that it's for their best interest that they make the rum, and, like, if they don't, then they probably will die by your hands.
So we convinced them. They were very understanding. Um, and so that is how it went. How did you convince the... I, uh, they're not much- It's amazing what a little bit of threatening will do ... talkers. No, for sure. They are not much talkers, but they're great listeners. Absolutely. And they understood me, 'cause, you know, like, I'm a pretty good talker, and they're pretty understanding.
And honestly, they just kind of went, "Mm, yes."
And they agreed with what you were saying? Yeah, they agreed. They went, you know, back to their rum factory and started making the rum. A [00:16:00] little threatening, as I said, goes a long way. Who else is in the room? I'm behind Riven, not in front . Okay. I'm behind, but off to the side. So like, if we were walking through a door and like- I hear-
they're there, like I'm off to one side. Yeah, I've also- I'd probably still be in the door. I've sort of put myself in the opposite corner as Cathariss, that I'm like leaning- Yeah, I was about to say, leaning. We're both against the wall like, "Mm-hmm." Yeah. I'm in the, I'm in the door doing the, the hands on top of the door jamb thing.
I don't, I don't- I'm afraid of us all being clustered ... also being a convenient, you know- Yeah. Yeah ... visual block on anything behind them. I don't want us to be clustered, so I'm not on the same side as she is. Yeah, you're on the opposite side. Like we both- Understood ... kind of fanned out. Okay. Riven's in the center, and then we got Tingus holding up the door just like, "Yeah."
Okay. Can I have a deception check please? Yes. Yes. Sorry. Can it be with advantage if Cathara goes and mentions, she goes, "Yes, Captain. Uh, all is well. [00:17:00] We will have absolutely, um, we should have enough to catch up with the last, uh, shipment as well as have enough to come back for
your coronation." Hmm. Assisting with the lie I do have proficiency in it, if that helps. So do I. In order for advantage. Yeah. What did you get first? I haven't rolled yet. Okay. I was waiting for your answer. I got a nat 20, so- Yo. Let's go. That's good. Oh, Chrissy. Nice, that was good.

Okay. So [00:18:00] of... You have Tim- Mm-hmm ... Tybalt- Mm-hmm ... captain- Mm-hmm ... standing there. Mm-hmm. Of the three of them That's actually also interesting. I, so, so Kathara has moved up? I'm not really up. I, it's, like, it- Like, this? I took, I took the same thing as, as, uh, Dren. We both kind of, like, we were off to the side against the wall.
I would say if anything she just, like, s- didn't lean against the wall anymore. Like, she kind of, like, stood up a little bit more proper, hands behind her back, but also ready to grab her sword if need be. Okay. Then in that case only Riven- Okay ... please make a perception check. Oh, okay. Oh, okay. I was like, "Oh, make a dex save?"

We got nowhere to be. The coronation night doesn't start without us, so we'll wait." I don't think we have a timeline. "Let's go wait upstairs." "Well, it depends if people know about it." Mm. This is where all the seats are. Uh, they will gesture to sit down- Okay ... if, if that's - Sure ... where we're going with this. Sure. Uh, there are, there are, uh, both several, uh, couches- Mm-hmm ... individual chairs, uh, plenty for everyone if that's- I stay standing. Yeah, I'm gonna go leaning against the wall. No, come, come.

Tybalt will stand next to the chair- Okay ... with the captain in it. Mm-hmm. I don't know where you would like to be. I don't know where- I wanna... If that's the thing, I do wanna go wherever Tybalt is.
Mm-hmm. I do wanna walk up to Tybalt. Mm-hmm. Maybe whisper a little something in his ear. Okay. Do it. Yeah. Kathara's going to go, "Do it." Just gonna lean in and go, "Tybalt, darling, um, we are waiting with the zombies behind Tingus, uh, to, I don't know, kill Tim. Um, how would, what, that... Are [00:22:00] you cool with that?" Heard.

back and go, "So-" Incredible response. Heard, heard. Heard. Love that. Uh, hey, gotta make sure he knows what's going on. Uh, Kathara's gonna look at Tim and go, "So Tim," kind of now you have, you have Tybalt on one side, now Kathara is on the other side. Sure. "So Tim, um, you know, don't you normally, um... How, how do you oversee...
I mean, I know we ask these, um, your, your workers to take care of things. How do you normally oversee them?" You know, um, from a distance. From all the way up here or do you- Uh, no, I could go downstairs and- Oh. Um, I- ... command of sorts, you know? Okay. I would love to learn a little bit more. Um, if you could come, we just wanna make sure that, um, everyone is taken [00:23:00] care of and that everything is done properly.
I mean, it was a little bit to get them to what they need to do. Um, but, uh, we just need to make sure that, that everything is done the normal way you would normally do it. Yeah. So, so- Here so I'm over here ... uh, the, the furniture's mainly in the middle of this sort of- So like about here ... foyer. Give or take. Uh, yeah, maybe slightly. The, like one thing that way. Perfect. Okay. With a couch behind, a chair, uh, that direction, farther from the door- Okay Sure ... would be Tybalt and the captain.
Where is Tybalt in this one? Okay. Just so I can visualize. Where do you want him? I was about to say, 'cause I think- I was about to say- ... Reuben is here Okay. Then I would probably- I would be kind of- [00:25:00] Yeah, more this way, like that ... over here. Yeah. 'Cause wherever the captain would be, like if we want to like kind of- Yeah.

He can just wisp it away. That's the thing about magic. That is true, there are spells you can- You can just wisp it away That doesn't make sense. Magic doesn't make sense. I'm being so truthful right now. Yeah, I'm gonna be behind him. It's not so much- I also am being truthful ... it's not so much a truth thing as it is a- What's our, like, intention? Yeah, what is my in- um- Uh, everyone's very tense. No, I've... No, I understand. Yes, absolutely. Um, it's been a little bit of a whirlwind for us.
We did not expect to, uh, come into this, um, kind of, and dealing with this now. Um, but we'll make do with what we have to, and, um, I would like to make sure that the rum production is done [00:27:00] properly. So if you could. Uh, he will start moving towards the rear wall. Oh. How, how many feet away? Window. Window and/or stairs. You're not really quite sure until he gets there. Is he coming towards me to go downstairs where we've asked him to, or is he going the opposite direction? Uh, sorry, the upstairs stairs- Right .../window. Okay. Not the door to- Yes ... that basement. So he's- Which would be towards me- Towards you
in, in real life. Okay. So he was here, so he'd probably be this way. Yeah, and he's going to slowly kind of keep walking while checking in with everyone. Yeah. "Yeah, let's just take a quick, quick little detour." And, um, the curtain's slightly open, slightly ajar. [00:28:00] Uh- pulls them a little bit more open and is looking outside.
Yeah. Kathara is, is, is behind him. I don't, uh, uh- You don't see them down there, I guess. Right. Now that he's looking down, can I try to... Kathara's like off to the side like, "Yes, of course. They are-" And you're just gonna try to escape this man right now? I would like to attempt to stealthily cast hunter's mark on him.
Sure. 'Cause he's looking out the window. Yeah, Kathara is keeping him distracted. Okay. Yeah. Do I have advantage because he's distracted? Advantage on what? Hmm? The, the- Sleight of hand check to cast- Sleight, sleight of hand check ... or stealth ... hunter's mark. Yeah. 'Cause I would assume goggles do not- 'Cause I was trying, that's why I was trying to get behind him and wait till he was facing away from me.
Uh, yes. Cool. Okay. Bring a suffering.
Nat 20. Let's go. All right, so I've got hunter's mark cast on him. Kathara's doing a great job. I sh- I start, started just like whistling a little tune. Uh, um, [00:29:00] um, okay. And my pupils sort of like go like slits. Okay. As- Which you, which you've s- all seen before- Yeah ... when I'm fighting. Uh-huh. As you whistle, sh- uh, Riven's gonna look at Kathara and be like- And she's got, but she's- So she's dealing with Tim and she's going, "Like, stop."
So yes, so Tim, um, as you can see, they are not in here because we've started, we, we've sent them into- The distillery ... the distillery. That's why you don't see them down there. I mean, I don't, I don't understand what they're not understanding from this, but we have to go down there so that we can make sure that they are doing what they're supposed to because you said you control them or whatever it is you do.
Oh, actually to clarify, it would've been to move Hunter's Mark because I still had it up from the last fight 'cause I never broke concentration. Makes me- Mm-hmm ... move out of section. But it, it features some amenities. Uh, less exciting, there is a lumberyard off to the side to help with the construction of certain things.
Uh, there is actually a small hospital. Uh, there is a large town hall with a frontal meeting space, and, uh, attached to [02:25:00] the back is a private dwelling occupied whoever the current ruler is. Um, there are several storage warehouses, um, some of which, uh, do hold periodic auctions for unsold or difficult-to-move goods from different crews, just get this out of here.
Um, additionally, the, the closest buildings to the beaches away from the docks are actually freely available, uh, miniature bunkhouses, uh, just for crews to use as they are here. Um, but you know, pick up after you're done. And lastly, there are two taverns, uh, Lands Loved and The Buck Stop. Uh, one of them does, uh, feature a card room.
Hmm. Hey, [02:26:00] Chris, point of order. Yep. So there's a monarchy as the, like, actual head rulers. Is there also, like, a parliament or something that, like, the monarch has to answer to? No. They're pirates. This is fairly well organized for the pirate, like- It was decently- ... whatever ... yeah. They, the, it, it, it is very, um- It, it is a bit utilitarian in the sense of like, no, we have a need.
Like, we as pirate crews cannot always go to shore. Yeah. Like- Yeah ... we're proper ports, so we need solutions. Yeah. We can do it ourselves. Um- And she's like, "Don't be a jerk." Yep. Don't be a jerk. Yep. Um, as Riven, like, jumps off the ship and is like, starts like saying sh- like everyone's worrying, she's like, "If anyone needs me, I'm at the tavern."

Uh, and afterwards, um, there are, uh... Your crew hands are going to be unloading the rum, uh, and bringing it towards the taverns and storehouses.

Uh, additionally, some are going to be boarding your dinghies to go out to Captain Peter Rabbids'- Mm-hmm ... ship- Mm ... which is not going into the port proper- Mm-hmm ... to [02:28:00] ferry- It back and forth Right. Like, she got, she got killed by the new Captain King." And, like, she's just gonna add- Dang ... onto little murmurs. And, like, every so often she'll change into a different, um, human, maybe a man this time or a child, and kind of build story and intrigue. And like, "Man, I heard the coronation's gonna be crazy." And then once she gets closer to the tavern, then she'll, like, go to the side and change back and go into the tavern.

Anyways, so it looks very sloppy though. It's not like the best. It's like, "Can you play this?" Uh, I will take it. Um- How would you, the player, describe you, the character's musical ability and ability to transcribe?
