Bryan Wade:

Welcome back to the Sandals Church podcast. On this special episode, we're slowing down together. No rush. No agenda. Just a few minutes to meditate on God's word and sit in his presence.

Bryan Wade:

We know life doesn't stop moving. It's busy, noisy, and often messy. But even in the middle of it all, God invites us to come close, to rest, to breathe, and to remember who he is. Wherever you find yourself today, know this. God's spirit is with you.

Bryan Wade:

So take a deep breath, settle in, and allow his word to meet you right where you are.

Dani Crowley:

Today, we listen to an exchange that takes place in Matthew 11 between Jesus and his disciples. I will read these verses to you twice. And as you hear these words, allow them to wash over you simply and gently. John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, are you the one who is to come?

Dani Crowley:

Or should we look for someone else? Jesus answered them, go and tell John what you hear and see. The blind receive their sight and the lame walk. Those who have leprosy are cleansed and the deaf hear. The dead are raised and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.

Dani Crowley:

Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me. John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, are you the one who is to come? Or should we look for someone else? Jesus answered them, go and tell John what you hear and see.

Dani Crowley:

The blind receive their sight and the lame walk. Those who have leprosy are cleansed and the deaf hear. The dead are raised and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me. As you listened to these words, what did you notice about Jesus?

Dani Crowley:

Ponder this in a moment of brief silence. Allow what you've noticed today to lead you into a time of prayer with the Lord. Share with him your reflections, hopes, or questions. Rest here with him as long as you need, allowing his gentle spirit to tend to yours.

Bryan Wade:
