that over 70% of the people in some way misrepresented themselves online now it becomes a real life predating thing you learn so much about people that it's concerning but how do you find more information about the people who are walking in and out of your house it's for us to identify the interest it's for you to make the value judgment [Music] hello everyone i'm Dave this is Tony welcome to Ask Social Profiler today we're going to be talking about how do you identify a threat to your friends your family your coworker how do you determine if somebody is really who they say they are that's what we're going to discuss today and before we get started let me introduce Dave dave is our chief operations officer is Stanford and UCLA alumni and he's been in charge of operations for the most of his life absolutely thank you Tony yes you're right i did have the opportunity to play football at Stanford in the early 80s uh after that went to UCLA business school and it's been a real pleasure to be involved with Social Profiler it truly is a unique product it's a one-of-a-kind in the marketplace and I am so excited to help Tony bring this to the market what are some of the most important factors when allowing someone access to your home or business just uh trustworthiness yeah I'd say that'd be number one or do they have any kind of criminal background yeah okay where they might be if they're around your children or your valuables or something like that you always have to be preemptively aware of that and hide your belongings you know like just in case you know you have to be proactive home is very personal business of course personal too but honestly just trustworthy somebody can really trust trust safety that they're not going to steal from you those those are probably the top things most people don't trust social media companies with their information but how do you find more information about the people who are walking in and out of your house walking in and out of your business or interacting with your inner circle how do you help identify if they really are who they say they are there's not much you can do obvious advice would be go check ideas you'll be surprised that 30 something% of people never bother to check ideas from people they let in their life say let in their home you can obviously run a traditional background check if there is a criminal record if there is a traffic ticket depending on county and state of course so is a typical background check is that going to find all the key information about an individual that you should really know about before you allow them into your lives well I think it's exaggeration cuz a not a lot of cases end up in courts plus it's something from the past it happened before but does it necessarily mean it going to happen again so you're saying that the past history of some individuals aren't necessarily an accurate reflection of what they're going to do in the future absolutely okay so what would be an example of things that you can do that you can identify about a person that's in your life that will help you make a better assessment i'm a little bit biased here judging of what we are doing but I truly believe social media trace has a lot to do with what people are about to for instance there's um a lot of examples like people applying for jobs as a babysitter and then they have overwhelming share of interest in nightclubs alcohol drugs and stuff they're just interests that don't align with mine as a parent exactly do you want those people near your kids you know social profiler is not only about safety but it's also about compatibility is the nature and the character of the individual is that in line with the organization itself you know how often is it that somebody says they're one thing when they're actually another because we we understand that over 70% of the people have in some way misrepresented themselves online somebody could be a real big threat to your organization if they misrepresent your organization based on what they have done online for instance if they've been explicitly racist or or just criminal [Music] what are some of your red flags on social media i see sometimes when people comment on others pictures that are negative like for what what is that going to get you i won't go too far into this but now you can belong to so many groups that you learn so much about people that um it's concerning you know like you can see things that would make you say "Yeah I don't want to go out with that guy." Yeah feel like violence guns racism over-the-top attention grabbing attention seeking Pikmi situations i hate a Pikmi gotcha extreme views on things non-tolerant to uh other people's opinions i don't think I would avoid them cuz I think everything's worth checking out to be honest but I would definitely be more aware let's give some examples uh for instance you allowing somebody in your home say the contractor and then you run a report and see there is like good share of that sword like anti- capitalism eat the rich and things like that and you're like oh do you want those people anywhere near your home with like do you want to trust them your possessions and basically your safety from that point people who are in your inner circle doesn't it make sense to get as much information on them so you can know that their interests are compatible with yours and the key with social profiler we don't make a value judgment on whether things or interests are good or bad we just identify that a person has an interest in a category and we have over 10,000 meta categories across all individuals in the US the threat might be something you know not universally recognized it might be specifically for yourself or your family right as you say like hey tobacco in general might not be a big threat unless you have a medical condition and then now it becomes a real life threat in tank [Music] the idea is to make things safer for your family and easier for you to identify people in your network that you may want to or not want to continue your relationship with we give you that additional bit of information that makes it easier for you to do a decisions well from both of us at Social Profiler thank you for your time have a wonderful day and know anyone's interest before they say the word that's always a good idea [Music]
