Crease Monsters

Welcome back to Crease Monsters! I'm Parker Bottcher, and this is the podcast where we talk all things lacrosse — the biggest plays, the coolest gear, and all the action everyone's buzzing about.

In this episode, we're breaking down:
  • Vancouver Warriors' Golden Age — Why the Warriors are about to steamroll the NLL in 2025-26. Ryan Dilks just won his second Defensive Player of the Year, Keegan Ball is a top-five goal scorer, and Owen Grant is entering his third season ready to dominate.
  • Canada Crushes at Super Sixes — A 16-12 gold medal victory over USA on home soil in Oshawa. Jake Stevens and Dyson Williams recorded hat tricks, and Canada's now ranked #1 in the world.
  • Grayson Manning's Breakout Performance — The Denver freshman stood on his head throughout Canada's championship run. From making 17 saves in a blizzard to backstopping a gold medal win, this kid's the real deal.
  • Gear Spotlight: Warrior Alpha One Pro Helmet — Two box seasons in and it's still the best helmet out there. Unreal visibility, BOA fit system, and those removable liner pads with Polygiene technology keep you comfortable all game long.
  • Bold Predictions — Vancouver Warriors winning at least 12 games this season, Grayson Manning starting for Canada in the 2028 Olympics, and Parker's helmet getting three more deck goals before season's over.

Parker Bottcher:

But we're coming in hot today because the Vancouver warriors are about to run through the entire NLL this upcoming season, and nobody's talking about it enough. Plus, we got super sixes results that'll make you question everything you know about international lacrosse, and I'm going to talk about why the Warrior Alpha one Pro is still the best helmet in box. Let's dive into it. Alright. For Warriors, the twenty twenty five, twenty six season is coming.

Parker Bottcher:

And I've been saying this for months, but now everyone's gonna act surprised when they steamroll the league. You tell me it's not possible or maybe it's wishful thinking, let me paint you the picture here. Ryan Dilks. This dude just won his second defensive player of the year. You know how hard it is to win one?

Parker Bottcher:

This man has won two. The first time in Warriors franchise history. He's out there playing defense like he's got beef against every other offensive player in the league. Someone told him goals are illegal, and he took it personally. Then you got Keegan Ball.

Parker Bottcher:

My guy's entering his ninth season with the Vancouver warriors. Nine. Who's among the top five goal scores in his outstanding '24, '20 five season? This dude scores like I eat burgers. But here's when it gets spicy.

Parker Bottcher:

Last season, Owen Grant was finalist for transition player of the year. He's earned 38 points, 99 loose ball recoveries, caused 53 turnovers, and blocked 37 shots in 36 games. I had the opportunity to be coached by Owen, and on top of being a great player, he's a great coach. This team is built different. Mark my words, Vancouver is entering their golden age.

Parker Bottcher:

This isn't just a good team. This is a clear your schedules for playoffs. Alright. Gearheads, let's talk about the Alpha One Pro helmet. I've I've been running this helmet for two box seasons now.

Parker Bottcher:

It's still the best helmet out there. The visibility is unreal like vision for days. The helmet features true one pro shell. It's got twist and the dial. You get a perfect fit every time.

Parker Bottcher:

No more messing around with the straps. The thing is about this helmet is the liner pads with technology that's supposed to absorb sweat, keep you odor free. And I'm not sure if this is really odor free, but it's super comfortable, and the visibility is fantastic. Okay. We gotta talk about the super sixes.

Parker Bottcher:

Canada used three goal scoring runs to defeat the USA 16 twelve in the super sixes gold medal game with Jake Stevens, Dyson Williams each recording hat tricks for Canada. Let's talk about Grayson Manning for a second. This guy, he's a freshman out of Denver. He stood on his head. Manning was exceptional in the goal and backstopped Canada throughout the championship run.

Parker Bottcher:

This you know what's crazy? Earlier this year, he got thrown into a game during a blizzard at Denver. A blizzard, three inches of snow on the field. He can't see anything. And this freshman comes off the bench and makes 17 saves.

Parker Bottcher:

17. USA tries to make a comeback. Americans tried catch back up late in the game, and you know that won't work with Canada. They had two goal scores. They had Pat Cavanaugh and Connor Kirst trailing the mix by six with just under two minutes, but Canada was just too fast and efficient.

Parker Bottcher:

They've been playing sixes like it's meant to be played quick ball movement, two man game, transition speed that makes your head spin. That's what six is all about. Here's the thing. Canada is now ranked number one in the world's men's sixes. The USA needs to figure out the format because twenty twenty eight Olympics is coming around soon.

Parker Bottcher:

And right now, Canada just got the blueprint. Alright, Crease Monsters. That's a wrap for episode seven in the books. Quick predictions. Before we go, Vancouver warriors are winning at least 12 games in this twenty twenty five, twenty six season.

Parker Bottcher:

Book it. Grayson Manning is gonna be starting for Canada in twenty twenty eight Olympics. Next week, we'll be breaking you down the NLL season openers, and I'm going to tell you about why your team's already in trouble. Reminder, keep your sticks up and your takes hot. We're just getting started.
