Check Me Boomer is a weekly father-daughter podcast about reality TV. Dad's obsessed with Bravo. Maybe even more so than Isabella.
Every week, the show covers the Real Housewives franchises — Beverly Hills, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Potomac, Salt Lake City, and Rhode Island - along with Summer House, In the City, Next Gen NYC, Southern Charm, Ladies of London, Southern Hospitality, The Valley, Love Island, and whatever else pulls them in. Sometimes they agree. Sometimes they don't. Either way, listeners get two people who actually love reality TV, working through it together. What they watched, what they side-eyed, and what they can't stop thinking about.
Whether you're a longtime Bravo fan, a casual reality TV viewer, or someone who just likes a good father-daughter conversation, Check Me Boomer brings honest takes on the moments, the drama, and the cast dynamics that everyone's talking about.
New episodes drop every week.
Hi. I'm Isabella. My dad is obsessed with reality television, maybe even more so than I am.
Isabella:She's not wrong.
Isabella:This is Check Me Boomer, a father daughter weekly dish on the latest in reality TV.
Isabella:My question is for both of us, and I didn't give you time to think about this, but I want you to, off the top of your head, give me your top three reality TV shows of all time. This is including Bravo, including everything else.
Dad:By franchise or episodes?
Isabella:By franchise.
Dad:I'd probably say RHONJ, especially because the episode with the table flip, "you prostitution whore!"
Isabella:Mhmm.
Dad:Then I would say RHOSLC, which is Real Housewives of Salt Lake City that's almost a lisp sounding when we say it. But that and the Mormon housewives, which I I can never keep the name straight. What is it again?
Isabella:Secret lives of Mormon wives.
Dad:Right.
Isabella:Right. MomTok?
Dad:Yes. There's something in the water in Salt Lake City and Provo because two franchises to come out and have such incredible drama in so few seasons. It's it's crazy. So you asked for three. That's those are my top three.
Isabella:Yeah. So I thought about this a little bit more. I have four.
Dad:Okay.
Isabella:But I'm gonna, again, I'm gonna give one an honorable mention. So I'm gonna go Love Island as number one, actually.
Dad:Wow.
Isabella:And and this is it's I'm mostly referring to the earlier UK seasons. If you know, you know, when they were smoking cigarettes, chain smoking all day long. I I love it. It's the best.
Dad:Did they have only one drink per day, Max?
Isabella:I don't think they had that limit back then.
Dad:I might have to go back and watch those earlier seasons then.
Isabella:Second, I'm actually going to put RHONY.
Dad:Okay.
Isabella:Because that group of women, they struck gold with that. They really did. And I'm so glad that they're going back to it, and they're filming a new show called The Golden Life. We'll be very excited to cover that. Third, I'm a little biased because I will say we do live in Atlanta.
Isabella:We're from the Atlanta Metro Area. I'm gonna go with Real Housewives of Atlanta for number three. NeNe Leakes, Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, I mean, Kim Zolciak even. Those are my girls. I don't know if we reached a level of drama that we reached in Atlanta in any other franchise.
Isabella:My honorable mention is going to be Vanderpump rules
Dad:Okay.
Isabella:Which is one really one of the best ones. I couldn't leave it out.
Dad:Quick question on a couple of those. On Vanderpump and RHONY, are you referring to the OG cast or the revamps?
Isabella:I'm not referring to the revamps. Not even a little bit. I think both revamps are terrible if I'm being completely honest. I still watch both of them, but it's you can't even compare the two.
Dad:Maybe it's more generous to say they're in the early phases of development.
Isabella:And and that's why I'm watching them because I'll give them a chance, and I know that shows can grow. But, yeah, it's it's not looking good so far. You you can't match the Jax Taylor, Stassi Schroeder effect. You you just can't find that again.
Dad:Well, I don't take issue with any of the four, but you did have a chance to think about it.
Isabella:I did. So when we come back, if you wanna change your top three, we can revisit this. That's a little preview of Check Me Boomer. New episodes drop every week, so follow the show wherever you're listening, and we'll see you soon.
