About Meg & The Daily Pep!
I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Letters of Rebellion to my wonderful Couragemakers community or hosting workshops/group programmes, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Good morning daily peppers and a very happy Monday to you. So I wanted to kick off this week with some slightly unconventional reasoning around just getting the shit done that needs to be done that you might not want to do. When I'm faced with a task I'm avoiding, my go to thoughts are usually around why it's important and that usually means my dream shooter comes up. There's often some shame around the fact that I haven't done it already. Then I go down that rabbit hole of trying to figure out why and it tends to always come back to shoulds and a sense of obligation. Now, when we are already resisting task that is not particularly helpful. So I want to reframe this a bit today and how I want to reframe it is by tweaking that sense of obligation. Now we all tend to be values driven.

We all tend to do the things we do for important reasons and that usually involves other people. But I just want to tell you it is perfectly fine to get things done because you just want to get that fun fucker off your plate. And that can also be great motivation. You don't always have to be motivated by really good intentions. You can simply be motivated by how much future you is going to be grateful that you did the thing, getting some brain space back or just not having to look at that anymore. It is okay to not want to do the thing, whatever that thing is. And the question I'm posing is how can we get it done for your own benefit? And just to be really clear, not just for your own benefit so you can get more shit done. There's a lot of stuff out there about working smarter, but how about living smarter so we have more time and space for ourselves? So whatever the fucker is that you've been putting off, see if you can get it done today for your own benefit.

Remember, it is okay to half ass it. It does not have to be perfect. And that is an unattainable goal to begin with. And also remember, shortcuts are strategic, not cheating. Have a good one and I'll see you tomorrow.
