What is I’m Not Even Supposed to Be Here Today!?

Welcome to I’m Not Even Supposed to Be Here Today, a conversational, culture-savvy podcast for folks trying to make sense of a world that has gone sideways. We’re here to unpack the issues that boggle our minds, all rooted in a little history, a little culture, a little humor, a little group therapy, and a little humility.

Chris Bevolo (00:10)
Hello, hello, welcome everybody to the I'm Not Even Supposed to Be Here podcast, episode infinity. I guess this is episode infinity, because this is our last episode. It's not even gonna be a full episode. It's just gonna be thanks for joining us to this point. we've been away for a while, Des. We've I think we missed three weeks, maybe.

Desiree Infinity (00:32)
Think so, yeah.

Chris Bevolo (00:33)
Yeah. I think the first couple of weeks were just like travel and conflict. but then we started talking and decided, you know what, this is this has been great and we appreciate everybody who's followed us and commented and all that good stuff, but our energy might be better spent. So I don't know, would you like to share anything on that end? And I'll share a little bit and then we'll we'll say what's going next.

Desiree Infinity (00:59)
Yeah, I mean for me it's a I mean, we've been talking about like the whole point of the episodes was around like, okay, here's what's going on in the world and then here's what we can do about it, right? and so and thinking about wanting to go do more. but then also my own self reflection of there have been some creative outlets that I've been really wanting to explore and I have a bit more of an opportunity to do that, but I can't

juggle all the things, you know, with a full time job, the podcast, and you know, taking those opportunities. So one thing has to falter and unfortunately is it's this show. but I'm super grateful for the the time that we got to spend together and the the topics that we've got to you know

run through and even just kind of figure out for ourselves. I I think especially over the winter time, I think I even just felt like, I need to do something and like a the first step was like, okay, let's like at least like talk about it and, you know, have a little bit of the like a s weekly therapy session with a friend. but in that I think we've grown in our endeavor and there might even be some creative opportunities for the both of us to look into doing.

in the near future. So excited about that opportunity as well. What about you?

Chris Bevolo (02:24)
Yeah, we'll get to do we'll get to do stuff moving forward, which is cool. And yeah, it's very, it's very similar. You know, I don't know that I shared my, you know, my journey here and I won't go into the depth about it, but I left my career in October for a lot of reasons. I really wanted my next chapter to be something focused on, you know, making the world a better place. That sounds cornball, but I honestly like, hey, I've still got energy, I've still got brain left, like

Is is what I'm doing now really how I want to spend the rest of my productive days. And so part of my anybody who knows me knows like I have to have shit figured out. I have to know I have to know the plan. I gotta, I gotta and if we don't know the plan, then we're gonna sit down and figure it out. And part of this next chapter was just relax about the plan, right? Like they who knows what's gonna make sense and instead of picking a path.

I'm gonna try a number of things and just kind of throw the door open to the world and see what happens. And I had given myself six months of doing that to just check in and see like how's it going. And so that kind of coincided with this kind of opportunity that you had and conversations we were having. And honestly, I also think the last episode we did because one of my I used June, which I can't believe it's almost over. June was my check-in month.

And really trying to be honest with myself. And one of the takeaways for myself is that I'm doing a lot, but all the stuff I'm doing is is just yammer. And it's not bad yammer, like it's good stuff. Like my nineteen eighty-five report is trying to help people understand propaganda and its impact. Like that's really good. and I'm doing some client work, which is good. But all of my kind of self directed things were some form of I've got an opinion.

Here it is. which is, if you know me, kind of my thing. But we did the two cent nation, and I'm like, gosh, everything I'm doing is two cent nation. Like, that's not okay. Like, if I really want to make the world a better place, to your point, as there's so much that needs to be done, and I'm not doing enough. So I think as much as I've enjoyed this podcast, I've loved doing this, and this is something you and I have talked about for a while when we worked together. So it was great to do it.

It makes total sense to be like, okay, well, I'm gonna go spend my time doing things. You're gonna be doing more creative things. and you'll you may hear from us again in the future of some of that together. But yeah, it just made sense to be like, Okay, let's let's let's end this in a on a good note. there wasn't really even a consideration of like, well, could maybe is there a different mix of people we could deal with? Because this was always our project.

Desiree Infinity (05:16)
Mm-hmm.

Chris Bevolo (05:16)
Yours and mine. So like I'm like, well, who else is gonna do that? Like I don't that doesn't even make sense to me. So yes, this is the end. This is the end of one thing, but you can still like follow us in all kinds of different ways, right?

Desiree Infinity (05:20)
Yeah.

Yes, absolutely. And in fact, even just getting started on this show, it reminded me of like my past like video and storytelling and film love. and so now I wr I really wanna take all of my extra time to really, really dig into that and like what kind of what kind of change can we create, you know, outside of like talking heads, right? You know, and that's gonna be through stories and

narrative and art and all of that good stuff. So stay tuned.

Chris Bevolo (06:07)
Yeah. And I have some things brewing, some new things. I have too many new things, which is also an issue. So I've got to pick one. I've got a couple that I can't decide between. And so you'll be hearing more from me. And I'm not done podcasting, like it's one of my favorite channels. it's just I'm probably the next podcast will be something tied to something I'm actually doing on the side, not just writing about or talking about on the side at all.

Desiree Infinity (06:12)
Yeah.

Chris Bevolo (06:37)
Be a reflection of doing something. so there's more to come. But thank you for joining us for I don't remember how many episodes we did. Twenty? Something like that? I can't remember. I should know. It's just been so long since we did one. but there's probably nobody listening anymore. They're like, those guys went away. But if you are, we appreciate it. Thank you for following the show, watching the show, listening to the show. Thank you to Julia, our producer.

Desiree Infinity (06:47)
Something like that.

Ha ha.

Chris Bevolo (07:04)
for doing a great job taking all that work off our hands. and she'll be helping me moving forward with some other things. So she's not going away either. So with that, we wish you goodbye for now and who knows, maybe you'll hear from both of us together later. I hope so.

Desiree Infinity (07:25)
I think so.

Chris Bevolo (07:27)
I think so. Okay. Cool, cool. All right, everybody. Well, stay good out there. Stay sane. go watch Clerks. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. And with that, we will sign off. Thanks for joining us. We'll talk to you again someday. Bye. Bye.
