Edna Harding [00:00:25]:
Hi, I'm Edna.

Edna Harding [00:00:27]:
Like many of you, I wear many hats. I'm a military wife, mother, author, certified John Maxwell business and executive coach, trainer, and founder of Favor and wealth, where we help the good guys win. So tune in as we bring on the light.

Edna Harding [00:00:46]:
Well, hello everyone. Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the estherpreneur podcast. In today's episode, we're going to talk about the secret to attracting favor and funding. This is the final installment of our Proverbs series. So if you've been following over the past two weeks, this is the third segment. I hope you've been enjoying this. And so we're gonna just dive deep here and end this with a bang, right? We built ground level strength and now we're gonna press into something eternal. And that is the next two proverbs, which is generosity and righteousness, legacy.

Edna Harding [00:01:25]:
And I know it sounds so cliche and so religious, but we're going to break it down practically on what this looks like for your business. Remember that real success according to God's word isn't about what you earn, but it's what you leave behind. So if your goal is not just income, but impact, then this episode is your blueprint. Okay? This is going to tell you how to make an eternal impact and finish your assignment. Well, and the first proverb, or I guess the sixth proverb that we're going to talk about is generosity. And that is found in Proverbs, chapter 11, verse 24 to 25. And essentially it says that one gives freely and yet grows all the richer. So again, let me say that one more time because it's an anomaly, right? One gives freely and yet grows all the richer.

Edna Harding [00:02:20]:
What that means is generosity isn't niceness, it's actually kingdom economics. And this is how you build it in business. First of all, I know you hear this a lot at churches, like generosity, be generous, be generous. But this is truly how the kingdom works. The more generous you are, the richer you get. And this is what the rich people know, right? In their mind. They're thinking, okay, let me donate, donate, donate, let me donate this. But unfortunately, I hate to say this, a lot of people donate because of the tax write off.

Edna Harding [00:02:52]:
They don't donate because God told them to. And so there's also a heart check to it. I noticed, like a lot of people, they donated to nonprofits so that they could lower their income versus donating because of a generous heart or trying to help for a good cause. And so that is the check that we need to check ourselves. Is, are we giving to get, if that makes sense, or are we giving to give? Because when we get our heart right, that's when the overflow and the abundance will happen. If we're doing it with a poor heart posture, for doing it at a pressure for doing it, because, you know, we're trying to get something like, well, I did this, or I get this, then we're not going to reap the harvest. That's just scriptural.

Speaker C [00:03:40]:
Right?

Edna Harding [00:03:40]:
And so we need to check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. Okay, that came from. Not me, but from heaven. All right, so here we go. So again, generosity is a niceness. It's kingdom economics. And so what you need to do in order for you to apply it to your business is, for example, you want to offer free content with heart. Like, you want to offer things that will help people who can't afford you.

Edna Harding [00:04:05]:
Every business needs this. You need some way somehow to bless people. So I have my podcast, I have my LinkedIn content. I have some free training. I have some downable worksheets. I remember I served my gifts at the church for four years where I taught a lot of entrepreneurs for free, coach a lot of entrepreneurs for free. Like, that is how you're generous. Or that's how for me, I.

Edna Harding [00:04:27]:
How I was generous even when I didn't have money. Okay, you want to provide some sort of surprise upgrades, Give them a reason to continue to improve or continue to grow or continue to hit their goals. I love surprising my clients, especially by getting to know them and giving them what I know they would need to move the needle forward. Okay? You want to mentor emerging talent. So, for example, if you have someone who wants to do what you do, spend an hour a month just mentoring them like that. The point is, you could be generous not just outside, not just in money, but also in time. And also refer, when it's not your deal, refer people to other people, right? So if you can't serve this person for whatever reason, let's say your values don't line up. Let's say the personality doesn't work, work well, then just refer them to your competitor, and they.

Edna Harding [00:05:20]:
My competitors love that. Okay, so here's, here's, here's, here's the principle. Okay? When you give with intention, okay? When you give with the heart, with the right heart posture, and with healthy limits, that's when you're going to start reaping your harvest, right? You can't give to get. You have to give to give. I can't emphasize that enough. And so I want you to do this declaration. Say it out loud wherever you are, and write it or write it down. Here we go.

Edna Harding [00:05:54]:
I will give from abundance, not obligation. My business reflects God's generosity. All right, let's move to the next proverb, and this will be our last one for this series, and that is righteous Legacy, Proverbs 13:22. It says, A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children. A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children. This is what a righteous person does. They don't just take care of their children, but they take care of their children's children. So.

Edna Harding [00:06:39]:
So remember that we're not just building a business, we're building a calling. And what does a calling do? A calling is supposed to help not just your vision and your mission, but other people's vision and mission. And that includes your children and your children's children. Vision and mission, what they're assigned to. Okay? So you want to ask yourself, does your business survive without you?

Edna Harding [00:07:06]:
Right.

Edna Harding [00:07:07]:
How do you create a business that's sustainable, that survives even though you're dead?

Speaker C [00:07:12]:
Right.

Edna Harding [00:07:12]:
Even though you're no longer on the earth, can you still provide financial provision for your children and your children's children? Are you preparing future leaders?

Speaker C [00:07:25]:
Right.

Edna Harding [00:07:25]:
If it is. One of the things I do have to say is not every child wants to take over their family's business. So. So you have. I can tell you how many times I've worked with clients where their children didn't want to take over their business, and they were really sad about it, but if it's not their heart, they don't want to do it. Then you need to find other people that you could trust that will take care of the business. Like you love it, right? Like you do. Are you building a fair culture? Okay.

Edna Harding [00:07:53]:
Are you creating a wealth transfer system? A system that not just takes care of you, but takes care of your employees, takes care of your. Your children and your children's children. This takes care of the people that God put in your sphere of influence, Right? It's not just about you, remember? This is about what God wants to do through you. Okay? So what can you do to. To do this? Right? Number one, you want to systemize operations. You got to have a system in place. You Got to streamline things. You can't be operating in chaos.

Edna Harding [00:08:25]:
You got to have an sop, you got to have standards, and you got to ensure that people follow the prot. The second thing you need to do is you need to train your leaders. Your leadership, your managers, your supervisors, like your VPs, your executives. You need to train them so that they don't just think about themselves, but they think about the people that they're assigned to help. You want to build assets, you want to invest wisely, and you want to give and support community causes. This is what happens when the righteous takes over, right? Not your flesh, but the righteousness of God. It's not. Again, it's not about you.

Edna Harding [00:09:04]:
It's not just about your family. It's the people. God assigned you to be very generous and remember, build for generations. Build for generations. I remember there was a shirt that I created in my Etsy shop that says, generations will thank me. And that's like my desire is that I don't just. I don't just build something for my children, but I'm able to leave something for my grandchildren as well.

Speaker C [00:09:34]:
Right?

Edna Harding [00:09:34]:
And then that they will do the same for their children and their grandchildren. That will be from generation to generation.

Speaker C [00:09:40]:
Right?

Edna Harding [00:09:41]:
Ultimately. And. And that's what we want. That's what God wants us to do. Because again, Proverbs 13:22 says, A good person leaves an inheritance, and it's actually a righteous person. If you look at an NIV version, a righteous person leaves an inheritance for their children and children's children.

Speaker C [00:10:00]:
Right?

Edna Harding [00:10:01]:
So build for generations and honor God today in your business and blesses other people tomorrow. All right, so now you hold seven pillars for Kingdom business. Let's repeat all of them again from the beginning. Diligence, wise counsel, integrity, humility, hard work, generosity and legacy, eternal impact. And when you combine these things, they form what I call the Kingdom business architecture. You need all these pillars to build something that will prosper and bless generations to come. All right, so what I want you guys to do is think about for this week. I want you to think about what you want to leave behind.

Edna Harding [00:10:50]:
What are some goals that you want to leave behind? What are some things that you want your children to say and your children's children, what your employees, family to say. What does that look like? Write it down. Make it plain. Write the vision and make the plane right? And that's going to be what's going to keep you motivated to keep building in the spite of the opposition, in spite of the challenges, knowing that you're not doing it for you. You're doing it for generations to come.

Speaker C [00:11:17]:
All right?

Edna Harding [00:11:18]:
So I want you to declare this with me.

Speaker C [00:11:21]:
All right?

Edna Harding [00:11:22]:
The first is, I commit to building my business on these seven kingdom foundations. I renounce shortcuts. I embrace God's wisdom, and I build not just for profit, but for purpose and prosperity. All right, let me close out with the Scripture, Proverbs 3, 13, 16. Blessed are those who find wisdom. Long life is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. Well, my friends, I pray that you will have riches and honor for the rest of your days, as long as you continue to keep God at the center of your business and your life.

Edna Harding [00:12:14]:
May the Lord increase you and give you the deepest desires of your heart as you delight in him wholeheartedly. Well, blessings, my friends, and until next time, keep shining. Take care. Bye bye.
