Show Notes

In today's episode of "Designed for Greatness with Candace Nass," Candace Nas, a physical therapist and wellness coach, discusses the power of gratitude and the concept of growth through doing and being. Candace begins by encouraging her listeners to think about the things they are grateful for and to write them down as gratitude is a magnet for miracles. Candace then shares a quote that resonated with her, highlighting the importance of living with gratitude in our hearts. She expresses her gratitude for growth through doing nothing, which initially perplexed her but brought about a powerful mindset shift. As an achiever and go-getter, Candace has always believed that growth happens through doing and accomplishing tasks. However, she has recently learned the value of growth through being. She explains that growth through being requires increased patience, the ability to say no, setting boundaries, and asking for help. It calls for accepting what is and letting go of resistance in order to move forward. Being in this state also requires surrender and being open to receiving service, which challenges Candace in new ways as she is accustomed to being the one who gives. She invites her listeners to reflect on their own experiences of growth through doing nothing or being, such as during times of job loss, injury, or illness. Candace emphasizes the importance of reflection and introspection in fostering growth through being. She quotes that we don't learn from our experiences but from our reflection on them. Being allows for the time and space to analyze experiences, process emotions, and gain insights and lessons. Candace asserts that being is just as important as doing in the journey of personal growth. She ends the episode by reminding listeners that their worth is already set and infinite, and that their business is growth. Candace encourages those who may be in a season of limited capacity to embrace growth through being. She suggests practices such as meditation, journaling, and gratitude for receiving help and care from others. Balancing doing and being is key to achieving a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Candace expresses her gratitude for her listeners and invites them to connect with her through her podcast, "Designed for Greatness with Candace Nass," and other resources she offers. She concludes by reminding her audience that they are designed for greatness.
